^what you need to look for are the slave routes in nigeria. most of these are typically not known but many slaves were marched down to the coast via these places. and yes, ijaws did capture some yoruba and vice versa. |
chipmunkey: @tipia . I know my history books and i make valid jugdements based on facts on ground and not sentiments. Not many slaves were traded across Ijaw land for obvious reasons(transportation through the creeks) unlike other coastlands of west Africawhere slaves could easily be marched through to the ports. European merchants however found a good substitute for slave trade which was palm oil before the likeß d of Mary slessor ÄÑD öther missionari€ß made their way tö CÄLÄBÄR. chipmunkey: Slaves where not shipped through Ijaw land for obvious reasons(the creeks) and European merchants soon found a more profitable venture in Palm oil which was exchanged for Rum and Whiskey.slaves were marched from the hinterlands down to the coast. they were raided in the jungles and taken down south for shipment overseas. in addition, there was an internal as well as external slave trade. the british founded settlements for freed slaves all through nigeria including the northern areas. the ijaws had a continuous trade with ijebus which was conducted along the coastal waterways. |
just takes the grace of God, seriously. |
. I've also noticed that d OP has this poverty mentality, u are complaining about ur wife cooking rich soups for ucan you imagine? ![]() hope she didnt marry her ancestral enemy, if this is a true story. |
he can do that also. |
silly thread. |
just sing "nothing's gonna change my love for you" the song is on youtube- search for it there and serenade her with it. |
beware of fornication. |
chicken soup or chicken stew? |
who is this bongos ikwe of a person. any info on his parents, grandparents, hometown, etc. his name keeps popping up at critical moments. |
And as for those talking about "uncertainty of the future" starvation & poor people around us, please!!! give me asame people that can spend thousands in a single night, at the club or in the beer parlour. when they're presenting their girlfriends with cars, blackberry porsches, etc is that better? ![]() |
Meanwhile they are all from Akwa Ibom which is not the same as Calabarcan someone explain the difference because it sounds like a gambari and fulani situation to me. |
ooua: Why am I even reading this post. I could read in between the lines that all is total lies. Man be real and give us true life situations. If you have that kind of money to waste on baby shoes you will not be on this forum... hisssthank you. funky medina: All this poor people on nairaland! On top of her own money. When he went to impregnate a rich mans daughter what did he think? She will allow her child suffer? Its ur insecurity worrying you and you need to work on urself. If she asked you for the money that is a different matter. Boys! Stay in ur social class and stop coming to nl to be opening useless threads.i tire! lord have mercy. notice he didnt mention the stuff she bought for him (the op) himself. Make him siddon there dey dream. |
he is the first grandchild of my in-laws and i shudder at the level of love and affection they will shower on my boywhat exactly is the problem here? are you jealous of the child? ![]() abi dem send you to that family ni? |
nexeee: thanks everyone..your words of advice are invaluable indeed..hey, stop whining. I'm starting to believe you're just cooking up imaginary stories. when you and your wife decided to plonk down thousands of dollars for her to give birth abroad, you didnt open thread then. the way you're griping and complaining makes one wonder if you didnt know she was rich before you started chasing her for marriage? tales by moonlight. |
^you're wrong. |
Most of these "i had an affair for my husband's sake to protect him from knowing he's infertile" stories are tales by moonlight imo. |
ebamma: calabar is populated by akwa ibomites, dont worry nothing will happen. Why do they always claim they're different btw. |
Carry on. |
^very wise response. The main problem here is they're from different backgrounds. |
Not sure what kind of women you folks roll with. |
maclatunji: Madame, look at what you are saying again very well O.What are you quarelling about? If any part of the post skips you, simply ask for clarification. |
Calabar might be a good option for people who want to settle in nigeria. |
Obviously the state is going in a different direction besides oil. Isnt CR the area beside cameroon, with all those gorillas and wildlife? Maybe they want to keep the place exclusively for tourism. And immigrants. |
^what's this about? Anything serious? You can drop your email so i can do so. |
Good question. |
texazzpete: I actually believe him...it's a true story. Check his posting history...he got married to a rich man's daughter in March.True, the problem is he's from a poor background while the wife is from a rich one. While i dont support unnecessary frivolities, its a known fact that people tend to overspend on baby items-especially if its the firstbaby and you have some cash to spare. And yes, baby things are priced to make you spend more not minding the fact that the child outgrows these things very fast. Most new parents fall into this trap. What you spend will depend on what you can afford. besides, the op is complaining about the wife's expenses, but he didnt complain when she plonked down thousands of dollars to have the child overseas? |
