Literature › Re: Achebe's Things Fall Apart Named One Of 50 Most Influential Books by tpia5: 10:35pm On May 21, 2012
one of the reasons for the book being considered influential no doubt [though i dont know who wrote the list or what criteria were used], is the fact that things fall apart gives an insight into the workings of igbo society, and the igbo mind or worldview.

the area called bight of biafra, was considered more or less a gateway to the heart of africa- central africa and thereabouts.

the other gateway was somewhere around the east african coast, i guess. But arabs already had a heavy presence there.

so, the bight was important to european exploration of central africa.

so, is he going to open a hospital or non-profit for her or something . . . . . . .

dont know if she'll be able to work comfortably in a regular, normal setting because people might give her a hard time regardless what kind of character she has.

i could be wrong though.

the man looks like someone who came from abroad.

most nigerians in nigeria dont have those kinds of chubby cheeks- shows he's been eating overseas food.
Celebrities › Re: Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook Founder Is Married by tpia5: 7:37pm On May 21, 2012
btw, the facebook founders are not from poor homes @ whoever thinks they were.

theirs is not a rags to riches story, so quit imagining.

they were already rich to begin with, [ie from rich families], and just got richer, that's all.

the brazilian guy made over $300,000 in maybe one deal, one year while he was at harvard. They had money from the getgo.

Family › Re: Why Are Women Their Own Worst Enemies? by tpia5: 12:52am On May 21, 2012
women who are indeed bitchy in character, still might not get as much hate thrown their way, as those who arent.

reason is the bitchy ones will still have their circles and groups of friends who are of like mind and if nothing else, the bitchy women will deal with anyone who they consider a foe.

however,, i do agree some women bring on the attacks by their actions or nature, but i wouldnt say all.
Family › Re: Why Are Women Their Own Worst Enemies? by tpia5: 12:50am On May 21, 2012
^^i have to disagree with much of your post.

women by nature tend to be "preemptive strikers"- meaning they will attack anyone they consider a threat to whatever attention they deem fit to be received by only themselves, from men.

you dont have to be bitchy before you find yourself at the receiving end of these bitter attacks launched against your person.

as a matter of fact, someone who is well behaved and who gets the attention of males because of this, will often find herself making enemies even out of thin air. The obvious reason being the fact that she is making herself attractive to the males instead of endearing herself to the female folks. If such a person takes the trouble to endear herself to females, the attacks may not be as bitter.

the key factor which makes a difference in such scenarios, is still the presence of males which determines which way the penduum will swing.

Family › Re: Why Are Women Their Own Worst Enemies? by tpia5: 11:47pm On May 20, 2012
because a woman who isn't in favor with men is automatically out of the competition.
so what exactly does it take to be out of favour with men?

would really like to know.

they are such cunning creations of God, you think a woman would be out of favour with them, only to find them refusing to let her be out of favour, thus continuing the cycle of envy and bitterness from other women and instigating the female folks to keep launching attacks against their fellow women.

the thing tire me!!!!!

Freesia: Let's take this example you are walking down the street and you see another woman walking towards her Range Rover what comes to your mind?
nothing necessarily comes to my own mind, but i notice the pc position seems to be the other stuff you stated there.

as in, that's what would be considered the normal and expected reaction from the average person.
Foreign Affairs › Re: Ghana To Deport Illegal Immigrants by tpia5: 10:42pm On May 20, 2012
why do they like getting in people's faces?

is it their culture, because i'm still trying to figure this out.

or does it depend on the tribe.
Celebrities › Re: Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook Founder Is Married by tpia5: 10:28pm On May 20, 2012
Long in the past, perhaps. But you certainly don't see Hausa men marrying Arab women to a large degree in Nigeria.

The very rich ones, perhaps, who can afford to import or find such a bride.

But not your typical dude..
hausa typically prefer to do their things in a low key manner- ie out of the public eye.

many of them go to arab countries a lot, and yes, they do marry arabs or araboids.

getting an araboid to marry isnt really that difficult, since you dont necessarily have to be rich to do so.

its just a question of getting one in your social class.

but yes, the rich hausas might do it more frequently perhaps.

Odenigbo Aroli: Dude, you are not sounding logical at all; how can you try to relate a yoruba language which is a congo-benue language with hebrew which is a semitic language!! You are a pathetic loser!! The truth which you are trying so hard to ignore is that the yoruba empires were defeated by the fulanis and the housas and were forcefully colonized and thats how they borrowed most of the words listed above by the OP.
most yoruba-hausa loan words came through trade relations.

and try to contribute without throwing insults.

there's nothing to get hyper about so far.
