exotik:we all know the whiskey bottle is your best friend, but let it [the bottle] have some breathing space occasionally, ok? cheers. |
bluehorizo:you are mistaken. even just examine the edo place names you mentioned. what sounds yoruba about them? ![]() aside from akoko edo which people confuse for yoruba because there's an akoko which is yoruba and also because akoko edo people bear yoruba names. sabongida ora doesnt sound hausa to you? ![]() |
PhysicsQED:you have to examine the meaning before concluding something is a coincidence. never heard of oduwa in benin. Is this a recent addition. |
tribes adopted words from each other's languages that were commonly used in tradingend of. |
adesua is short for adesuwa which itself is a dialectal variant of adesewa. crown is beauty, or there is beauty in the crown. when you see anything with aiye in it, that is yoruba. |
Yes, yoruba magically jumped over edo and delta states to dance with igbos on the other side of the niger. Makes sense. |
^The spirit of the prophet is subject to the prophet. |
which category of nigerian american? those born and raised in america, or those raised in america? or it doesnt matter. actually, they generally dont date each other but stick with other countries, ethnicities or just date an outright nigerian. cant recall ever meeting such a couple. |
ayegbeni and adesua are yoruba names but you might find edo people bearing the same. |
^ dont have time to go into extended arguments right now. akoko edos are not yoruba- i didnt get this info from a book. |
well, the good thing is at least there is hope for me. if this lady can get a nigerian man then anybody can get the same, not so? ![]() or is there a comma somewhere eg you must not be nigerian. coogar and co, oya, I'm available, come and date me. i can bleach if skin colour is a problem. wigs, weave ons, etc can fix the hair issue. and i dont have to be nigerian if that's a disqualification? |
^^look, crockpot, you're the one complaining about people around you giving you a hard time. maybe they are doing so due to your attitude. if you cant understand this simple english then too bad. bye bye. i"m not interested in your pity party. if you're fishing for atheist of the year award, then have someone open a thread to that effect. or go undercover using another id, and do the same. |
na wa. |
a lot of women today unfortunately do not know the difference between decent and indecent dressing. they see video vixens on tv and think that's how to dress. then they complain when their boyfriends who drool over uncovered b.reasts, run after any woman with the same. you want to be eating your cake and having it? they also wonder why even with every bit of their body showing, they still cant get a man. even ladies covered in hijab from head to toe, still have more suitors than them. |
it's good you already know. |
^you have an overactive imagination. |

Obiagu1:what's funny? ![]() yes, they bear yoruba names and thus might be mistaken for yoruba by people who arent familiar with the area. |
Obiagu1:liar. why must you involve yoruba just because you're trying to suck up to edo? who is disturbing you? ![]() |
akoko edos are not yoruba though they bear yoruba names. |
efisher:i wonder. @ topic is there a problem? ![]() why the fight. If edos are closer to hausa, igbo, nupe, ijaws, yorubas, portuguese, oyibos in general, whatever, who cares? ![]() save the drama for una yahoo associates. |
^ you should consider seeing a mental health professional. like i told you before, you're not the first atheist in nigeria so nobody knows why you're expecting a prize as if you achieved something. atheists who preceeded you actually did productive things with their lives instead of sitting on their asses whining about everything. have you ever thought about the fact that maybe your attitude is what people around you find irritating. |
