^^

Residents of Eleyele and its environs woke up early Saturday morning to alerts and warnings on the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (because) asking them to flee their area as the Water Works dam in the area had overflowed and gushing in high volume into the neighbourhood. Some of them heeded the warning, abandoning their homes, while others trapped for acting late, climbed to the roof tops and upper floors of the buildings

Politics › Re: Floods In Ibadan And Oyo State by tpia5: 5:49pm On Aug 28, 2011
a simple investigation of the term "hurricane" would have spared many keyboards from being pounded on this thread and also saved valuable bandwidth.

i think we all have google and can access online dictionaries if we dont have the paper version.

The term "tropical" refers both to the geographic origin of these systems, which usually form in tropical regions of the globe, and to their formation in maritime tropical air masses. The term "cyclone" refers to such storms' cyclonic nature, with counterclockwise rotation in the Northern Hemisphere and clockwise rotation in the Southern Hemisphere. The opposite direction of spin is a result of the Coriolis force. Depending on its location and strength, a tropical cyclone is referred to by names such as hurricane (UK: /ˈhʌrɪkən/, US: /ˈhɝːəkeɪn/), typhoon, tropical storm, cyclonic storm, tropical depression, and simply cyclone.

nothing carry me reach the DMV area at all. may check out it in the future. who knows right ?
put it on your to do list.

however, the life there got more tense after sept 11.

people turned nastier, giant billboards for terror alerts and reporting people, etc.

however, its still a good tourist destination and quite cosmopolitan.

as with anywhere in the US, watch your back and know the location of trouble spots with high gang activity, etc.

could be my imagination but i thought i sensed some anti-nigerian feeling a while back- not in virginia though but somewhere else.

looking at that last photo, we can see the institution of marriage, and the wedding ceremony itself, has been turned into a joke in nigeria.
