Politics / Police Makes U-turn, Withdraws Personnel From Vips, Politicians by tracychelsea13: 6:41pm On Jul 24, 2023
The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) on Monday announced that it was withdrawing Police Mobile Force (PMF) personnel attached to Very Important Personnel (VIPs) across the country.

Chronicle NG reports that the police had on July 17 denied reports that it was withdrawing PMF from politicians and VIPs, dismissing multiple reports in the media.

The police spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in a statement said it was not going to rescind the decision to withdraw its officers.

"The Nigeria Police Force hereby addresses recent news circulating regarding the possible reversal of the PMF reform policy and the decision of acting Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, to withdraw Police Mobile Force (PMF) personnel from certain important personalities, VIPs.

"The Force wishes to clarify that the decision to withdraw the PMF personnel from escort and guard duties stands firm, and there will be no going back on this critical policy change.

"The withdrawal process has already commenced with a comprehensive report, which has been submitted by the constituted committee assigned to oversee the seamless implementation of this directive; and the IGP has activated the mobilization process for the establishment of the Police Quick Intervention Squad which precedes the withdrawal policy.

"The decision to withdraw Police Mobile Force personnel from VIP duties is part of ongoing efforts to optimize the allocation of resources and enhance the efficiency of the Nigeria Police Force in its core mandate of safeguarding the lives and properties of all citizens.

"While poised to ensure a smooth transition, the Nigeria Police Force is committed to providing adequate security arrangements for VIPs who are entitled to such protection.

"Meanwhile, the Force will carefully consider the provisions of Sections 23 to 25 of the Police Act 2020, in recruiting more supernumerary officers, to handle VIP security responsibilities. No VIP or critical infrastructure will be left unprotected as a result of the new policy.

"The Inspector-General of Police remains resolute in his pursuit of reforms and initiatives that will enhance the professionalism and public trust in the Nigeria Police Force.

"The decision to withdraw Police Mobile Force personnel from VIPs is driven by the need to create a more robust, efficient, and people-centered police force that caters to the security needs of all citizens equally.

"The IGP, therefore, urges the public and all stakeholders to support and cooperate with the Nigeria Police Force during this transition period to strengthen the security apparatus and create a safer environment for everyone to thrive."

Politics / Osinbajo Has True Passion For The Nigerian People - Akande by tracychelsea13: 12:36pm On May 21, 2023
Laolu Akande, the spokesman to Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has stated that his principal has an unflinching passion for the Nigerian people and that he demonstrated it as the number two citizen.

Akande in an interview on "Daily Politics," on Daily Trust TV, on May 19, 2023, where he reflected on his journey serving as a spokesman and the person of Prof. Osinbajo.

Speaking to Prof. Osinbajo's passion for Nigerians and his job, he said, "What you see is what you get. He has the passion not only for the job and any task that he is given but he has the passion for people, a true passion for people. He is not your regular politician. He would say to me that, "Look, Laolu, this is not a monarchy, we are not going to be here forever. Whatever we need to do, let us do it, and do it well".

"From day one, he said we are not going to be here forever, whatever we want to do, let us do it, we have very limited time. Whether it is four years, or eight years or even more, it is limited time, we have to do what we have to do and do it well.

Responding to a question about his professional and personal relationship with the Vice President, he said, "We share a few values together. I have a very keen seen for public spirit and I say this with the sense of modesty and responsibility. The only reason people relinquish their rights to a government is because they want the government to serve their interest. That is what I believe about government.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and his spokesperson, Laolu Akande

"Government is meant very strictly to serve the people, he shares that view, so have that common belief. So it wasn't difficult for us to blend and to become very personally close.

"We shared other things together. The only time that maybe we have some tension in our relationship is when he thinks I'm just being a journalist and he will say, "You this man you are no longer a journalist, you are a government spokesman."

Speaking to his tribute to Prof. Osinbajo Exist to inspire to build a better future for individuals, groups and the country.

"I find him to be somebody, first and foremost by his reputation, which was the reason why I decided to come and join his campaign.

"He went in as Attorney General in 1999, into a Lagos State judiciary that was rampantly corrupt, and he was able to sanitize it and turn that around. That told me that this is somebody who wants to do something.

"This is somebody that understands that at the heart of governance must be the people and his sense of social justice. When you see how he relates with people personally, he inspires a lot by his service by what he is able to achieve, by the values that he espouses, the things that he believes and how he works. He inspires.

"Before I started working with him, I used to think I was a gentleman but one of the things I quickly realised that he is a gentleman.

OBA Global is not a money doubling platform like MMM and others similar to it, OBA Global comes off as believable because users are designated to carry out tasks on a daily basis.

The WhatsApp administrators of the scam quickly left WhatsApp groups where they were stationed to convince people that the scam was real. The inundated the groups with evidence of making money and how their lives have changed.

Politics / Is This The End Of Christmas In Nigeria’s Aso Villa? by tracychelsea13: 8:55pm On Dec 14, 2022
By Williams Adegoke

I stumbled on a video and some pictures of the Christmas Carol organized by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the Aso Villa Chapel on Tuesday, and I thought to myself, how beautiful? It was not only scenic, but it mirrors the moment that we are in. It was very Christmasy, to say the least. Nathaniel Bassey ministered, and you could feel the presence of the Holy Spirit, then it hit me, is this the end of Christmas in the Aso Villa? Will the Chapel be shut down if a Muslim-Muslim ticket ever wins? Will Christmas be banished for eight years, or 16 years, or even longer?

I pray that Nigerians open their eyes and see the danger that is looming. There is no standing on the sidelines as this heinous plan to rid Nigeria of one religion thickens, the future of Christians is in their hands. They will determine if they want the Christmas tradition that has been in the Aso Villa to continue or if they want an end to Christmas. What will a Muslim-Muslim ticket mean to Christians during Christmas? It looks gloomy, very gloomy.

There will be no Christmas tree in the highest office in Nigeria, there will be no representation of what this period stands for and what it means to more than half of the Nigerian population, and it could possibly be banned across the country, who knows? If ever Tinubu is elected President, he will seek to complete two terms irrespective of his health, and his deputy, a fundamentalist and documented advocate for terrorism, Kashim Shettima will seek to succeed him.

With eight years to perpetuate their Muslim agenda, who says that they won’t do 18 years of Muslim-Muslim rule in Nigeria? If they can succeed in eight years, they will end up achieving their goal of Islamizing Nigeria. Some people will argue that this is not possible, and I laugh at their ignorance. They will cite Buhari’s administration as an example, well, Buhari could not because he had a Christian VP and a pastor too.

Prof. Osinbajo ensured that the Chapel in the Aso Villa was active just like those before him. President Goodluck Jonathan worshipped there and so did Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who will worship there if Nigerians ever vote for a Muslim-Muslim ticket? Maybe the plan is to break it down and convert it into a mosque or maybe it is to leave the building to rats and insects because they have no regard for any other religion of God.

Every Nigerian that has a PVC and who can vote irrespective of their religion should not allow this insensitive act by the All Progressives Congress to hold water. It is not an injustice to Christians but to Muslims too. Imagine Aso Villa without a Muslim as President or VP during the Ramadan. What will happen at Iftar?

I hope that the Aso Villa Christmas carol hosted by Osinbajo will not be the last for a very long time. Let us hope that voters are awake to the realities that stare them in the face and that they are aware of what the 2023 Christmas will look like. This article is not in a favour of any presidential candidate but in favour of candidates who have considered the fact that Nigeria is a multi-religious and multi-cultural society.

In 1993, when Nigerians elected MKO Abiola overwhelmingly, it was because we did not have Boko Haram running riots and bandits overpowering the army and police. We had a very united Nigeria, and we had a healthy candidate in Abiola but that is not the case now. We don’t want a President that will be unaware of killings in Nigeria and who cannot grasp basic information.

Even worse is that we do not need a President that will make us say Muhammadu Buhari was better. That will be beyond scandalous. There are absolutely no words to describe, and I hope that voters will put their plans to shame. We will all be held accountable for our votes whether we know it or not.

Politics / Doyin Okupe's Expulsion: Peter Obi And His Supporters Learning Politics 101 by tracychelsea13: 5:39pm On Dec 04, 2022
By Williams Adegoke

The sacking of Doyin Okupe by the Labour Party chairman in Ogun State was very strategic, it is the divide-and-rule politics that the established politicians will deploy to undo the Labour Party.

For those who followed Peter Obi's journey into Labour Party, you will agree that Okupe was the first person who began to drum support for Obi.

This is why they have started with him so that they can weaken Obi's base and break them apart. But there is one thing that Obi and his supporters must be proud of, and that is the fact that they have gotten some scared enough to want to undo their resolve.

Initially, the two main political parties considered Obi and his supporters a walk in the park but as weeks go past the Labour Party is growing in stature and reach.

The thinking that Obi has no votes in the north is starting to fade away as many people who are not even politicians join the youths to call for the retirement of the old guard - in this case, it is Bola Tinubu of APC and Atiku Abubakar of the PDP.

Now that Peter Obi and his supporters have proved themselves to be worthy opponents, the establishment is trying to break the Labour Party from within. Okupe's expulsion drama is the first in a series of internal attacks on LP. They will do all that they can to ensure that the base of Obi collapses.

Politics / Osinbajo Needs To Rescue Tinubu And APC Immediately by tracychelsea13: 11:49am On Nov 30, 2022
By Williams Adegoke

The APC presidential campaign has been a fiasco so far. The takeaways and talking points that have emanated from Plateau, Ebonyi, and Lagos, rallies have been of ridicule.

The party has repeatedly failed to sway any independent voter or anyone who has not been paid. As things stand, the immediate future is bleak for the APC come 2023.

The presidential candidate of the APC, Bola Tinubu has not helped issues. His constant gaffes have produced more comical relief than hope for Nigeria.

On paper as of today, if Tinubu wins, it is because his party controls the establishment, the structures, and institutions that will determine the outcome of the 2023 presidential elections not because of his popularity.

If the presidential election were to hold today without any devious plan of deploying touts and hoodlums to threaten voters or disrupt voting processes, Tinubu's "Emi Lokan" dream will evaporate.

In 2014, when President Muhammadu Buhari was repackaged for Nigerians, he got huge acceptability because his running mate was a new kid out of the block. He was brilliant, eloquent, and a people person.

Politics / If APC Had Picked Osinbajo, I Would Have Declared For Him, Wike Tells Atiku by tracychelsea13: 6:44am On Aug 05, 2022
Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has told Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that if the All Progressives Congress (APC) had picked Vice President Yemi Osinbajo as its presidential candidate he would have declared support for the Vice President after he lost out in the PDP primaries.

A source close to the meeting which held at Namadi Sambo's residence in Abuja told Chronicle NG that Wike gave Atiku some conditions, if they must work together and he made it clear that if Atiku doesn't meet the conditions, he might be forced to work with Peter Obi.

The Rivers government however stressed that working for or with Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is not an option.

The meeting was subsequently adjourned to allow Atiku go home to process the demands made by Wike before returning to the negotiation table.

According to the source, "The first thing Wike told Atiku is that he is lucky APC didn't pick Osinbajo, otherwise he would have declared for Osinbajo and APC even if Osinbajo didn't ask for it."

"He said he cannot join Asiwaju Bola Tinubu because of the Muslim Muslim ticket," the source said, adding that,

Investment / N23bn Fraud Rocks Mtn’s Momo PSB, One Month After Launch by tracychelsea13: 8:39am On Jun 27, 2022
Momo Payment Service Bank Limited (MPSBL), the banking subsidiary of MTN Nigeria Communications Plc, is currently enmeshed in an alleged N23 billion fraud scandal, one month after launch.

The MTN subsidiary has urged a Federal High Court to compel 18 commercial banks to refund the funds that were transferred to their customers using its platform.

The money, MPSBL said, was erroneously and fraudulently transferred in 700,000 transactions into about 8,000 accounts belonging to customers.

The MTN fintech also urged the court to order the banks to provide information about the customers into whose accounts the funds were paid to.

The requests form part of the reliefs in a suit filed by MPSBL through its lawyer, Lotana Okoli (SAN).

MPSBL averred that under the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Regulation on Instant (Inter-Bank) Electronic Funds Transfer Services, made pursuant to sections 2(D), 33(1)6) and 47(2) of the CBN Act 2007,it is incumbent on the banks to make refunds and provide the required information.

Politics / 10 Reasons Why The Northern Elites, Governors Worked Against Osinbajo by tracychelsea13: 1:42pm On Jun 21, 2022
Eugene Abraham

Students of history will agree that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is a best candidate for President, in fact, as a student of history, the best stint of the Buhari administration was when he was Acting President. Nigerians will largely agree that the best decision making in favour of citizens and against the elites where made at this point.

I will state 10 reasons why the northern elites (cabals), their governors and others colluded with corrupt politicians from the south to rig Osinbajo out of the APC presidential primaries.

Some of the reasons I will list will stun people and only when they read between the lines that they will find it to be true. President Muhammadu Buhari was also part of the plans to ensure that Osinbajo did not succeed him.

1. Nnamdi Kanu: This is an unpopular reason among Nigerians but it is true. When Osinbajo was Acting President, Kanu, who is the leader of proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra was granted bail, weeks after he was maltreated by the Buhari administration. The decision to grant Kanu bail angered the northern elites so badly that they held it against Osinbajo. To prove this right, immediately Buhari returned from his sick leave they began tracking Kanu down. They eventually caught him in Kenya and he is back where they want him to be.

2. National Livestock Transformation Plan (NLTP): The NLTP was an idea of Osinbajo and although it was a very good idea, it angered the north. The plan was going to end grazing of cows and this is one thing they do not want. They cannot imagine Abuja without cows walking the road. NLTP would have brought modernization to Nigeria but the people behind the cows didn’t want it, they even tried to use RUGA to rubbish it but when it didn’t work they used all their political weight to stop Osinbajo at the primaries.

3. Executive Orders/Knowledge of the Law: The National Assembly had a hard time under Osinbajo as Acting President. He knew that there were other ways of getting things done without the National Assembly holding Nigeria to ransom. He signed about eight Executive Orders in one day and also hinted that the days of budget padding was over. I’m sure that is why Ahmad Lawan was thrown into the race, the National Assembly feared that someday all the unthinkable salaries and allowances they earned was soon going to disappear, so they joined forces with these people who do not want Nigeria to succeed.

4. EndSARS: This is one reason that many will not understand. At the height of the EndSARS protest, Osinbajo apologized to Nigerians for the role of SARS and the killings of innocent people. He recommended that they be banned after he took the Inspector General of Police to the President. For some reasons, Buhari agreed and they were suspended but SARS was the bulldog for some powerful Nigerians and they took an exception to his role.

5. CJN Onnoghen: As Acting President, Osinbajo sent the name of Onnoghen to the National Assembly and he was appointed CJN. This action like that of Nnamdi Kanu angered the north. Many students of history know that just as they went after Kanu, they went after Onnoghen.

6. Lawal Daura: The sacking of Daura who was a bulldog for the cabal hit home harder than many had thought. The northern elites saw it as effrontery of the highest order, not only on the region but on the President. Just because he blocked the National Assembly gate? They were going to pay the man back.

7. Anti-Corruption: They know that Osinbajo was going to really deal with corrupt Nigerians, a category most of them fall into. People like Babachir Lawal who was the Secretary to the Government of the Federation was suspended then sacked because Osinbajo recommended it. Lawal hated Osinbajo since then. Of course Ganduje feared for his future along with all of them that are corrupt. They will stop at nothing to ensure that Osinbajo’s presidency does not happen.

8. Technology: Social Investment Programmes and Economic Sustainability Plan are two programmes overseen by the Office of the Vice President. In fact, Aisha Buhari, the First Lady once accused the Vice President of not giving her a quota, so that she can share to her people. Unfortunately for her, the programmes were online and they were for all Nigerians. They didn’t like technology which they feared will end their grip on Nigeria’s neck and stop many corrupt practices.

9. Sackings: As Acting President, Osinbajo paid an unannounced visit to the Lagos International Airport. He even visited the toilets after Nigerians complained online about the state of the airport. Ten directors were sacked that day and the revamp of Nigeria airports began. These persons that were sacked where put there by elites and cabals as their own security. We all know that there are many incompetent people in government and Osinbajo would have weeded them all out to the loss of these people holding Nigeria to ransom.

10. Sheep among wolves: Most of these politicians knew that he wouldn’t do what they do, they know that he wouldn’t go where they went, he was simply going to do the right thing for the Nigerian people and the truth is that, if the people are empowred, the elites will continue to lose their grip and this is what they don’t want. They want Nigeria to be forever impoverished.

Also nominated was Senator Chukwuka Utazi as the new Minority Whip.

The nominations were contained in a letter signed by the National Secretary of the PDP, Senator Samuel Anyawu.

The letter was read at the start of plenary by the Senate President Ahmad Lawan.

Aduda’s nomination was sequel to the resignation of the former Minority Leader, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe.

Abaribe, last week, formally announced his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

Also, the PDP in its letter to the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, explained that Senator Utazi’s nomination as the new Minority Whip, was as a result of the elevation of Senator Aduda to the position of Minority Leader.

What I find fascinating is the fact that it is the President that uses the VP's residence more. Hosting party (Biden), jogging (Bush) even the First Ladies too. They should just scarp the Office of the VP. This is why I have so much respect for Prof. Osinbajo. What he has been able to acheive as VP is unprecedented despite having no powers.

Well said Prof. Most of us wanted you to lead because we know what you did as Acting President and the kind of decisions you made to make Nigeria better. Certainly it is not over, this is a marathon and not a sprint. God Bless You Sir
Politics / Re: What Makes Atiku, Tinubu, Osinbajo Etc. Very Popular And Powerful by tracychelsea13: 8:35pm On May 31, 2022
Atiku and Tinubu are not popular at all. The people following them are only following them because of their money. They have no ideals or principles that makes them popular. Osinbajo on the other hand is very popular. You can see how people react when they see him.
