If you are a tech bro or tech sis with valuable experience working on/building various projects (VR knowledge/experience a big plus), please shoot me an email ASAP. We'd love to hear from you

The internet is awash with tales of 'clients' who have been swindled in most singular cases, to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars, by a Nigerian hustler..lol. Maybe Henro757 is giving us a scoop of his own scope of yahoo business in Peckham UK, but hey who gives a fvck..even the initial commenter he referenced with his very poorly worded submission that was a pain to read, also talked about Western Union trfs as part of what is captured. As this one come run inside thread dey talk from both sides of his mouth suppose surprise person, but certainly not me, as I don dey used to the shenanigans.

TravelRe: Japa: Is This Not Hypocrisy? What Do You Think Of This by Treadway(op):
Thankfully, I KNOW Emmaodet is an educated fellow and will know gibberish when he sees one.

Yea Emma, I have also touched on that a few times how the capital flight fuelled by japa over the last couple of years far exceeds whatever 20b Forex inflow the dudes keep dancing about. However, YES, the inflow is a significant portion of our Forex FOR NOW, but has little to no impact (except with the needy families that rely on it) in the general scheme of things as it is grossly insignificant to our total productivity and is mostly used clearly to fuel the japa process of other people, amongst other things. Like you said, 20b Forex enters, mostly finds its way to the black market where it is scooped up by others to fund the japa move.

Also for those who want to learn, in the simplest of terms diaspora remittance is when money is sent from someone overseas to someone in Nigeria through the banking system (which is why CBN can capture it). If anything, going by the warped logic of many here, Yahoo boys should be praised as keeping the economy afloat, cos I'm sure they receive more money from abroad running into tens of thousands of dollars when they are successful, not all these 200usd people dem wey no dey let person hear word.

So next time, all the Nairaland crusaders make noise about 20b Forex inflow do well to always remind them not to take all the credit, give the yahoo boys their due credit too! And yahoo boys is just one example, just one example of the many others aside economic emigrants that they are willfully oblivious too. Ordinary folks having a fucking saviour complex. The nerve!

Best bet is to let them spend earlier years up to adolescents back home to know their culture, life’s values etc before bringing them here to complete their education.
Our educational system at the earlier years is quite faster - formal or informal. Learning at the earlier years for an African child is quite faster but slows down after three or four years.
As simple as this may sound, research as far back as 80s has it that African child (0 - 3 years) is precocious due to constant interaction between mother and child, breastfeeding, wrapper-tying carrying on the back, constant touches to name a few.

But with the present Nigerian situation, one may need a rethink to consider family finances, safety, availability of jobs etc before making that relocation decision.
For those who are here already, I guess it’s best to know your kids and spend quality time with them.

Sorry to burst your bubble but very few African parents who have been here long enough are good models to consider their parenting style especially when you see the end result in their kids.
Just maybe! Location let them down.
Raising kids in London, its environs and some other major cities need serious consideration.
one of my major sentiments, I'm wayyy too protective of my kids. I cannot can. Me and this Nairalander were having this exact discussion 3 MTHS ago. Aside many lacking values to pass on to children, many simply just do not have the time because bills have to be paid!

Sweetvie:
You're very right
Infact my savings in Nigeria is much more than abroad but I never for once want to stay in Nigeria... If you're looking for where to become a millionaire Nigeria is the right place but if you're looking for where to live a cool life without comparison then travel out.
I alws say I want to give my future kids the best life a child can ever want which I don't think I can achieve it in Nigeria. Infact sef i didn't travel out for any kid, i did it for myself... I want a better life for myself.

I don't know why some people are trying to discourage others from traveling undecided

My response was:

i'm on the other side of the coin. The kids na one of the major reasons why I won't even consider it at this time, till they are much older. Can't risk raising my kids in the west, way too crazy. After I have built them up soundly the African way, then they can go there if they want or if the situation calls for it. For now, we dey here..lol

These zealots are being supported and encouraged, so much so they don't see just how primally stupid this all looks. I don't know pansophist personally but I am quite convinced that he is very very well travelled, yet this nigga who likely just got on a plane for the first time when he left Nigeria in his lazy mind believes pansophist na caveman because he shared unpopular opinion.

Many like that here, whom when you challenge them or share a diff point of view they just start talking inanities, such as
'dem deny you visa'...lol

After the Canadian govt encourage citizen's and resident to take up home mortgages ! They just wake up one morning and say the houses are now beyond the reach of citizens and baning overseas investor from buying houses that house is not for profiteering ( hypocrite the Canadian mortgage firm are also profiteering) now with this announced houses value drop .houses value at 400k USD now 280k . So imagine a japarian hoping on his equity After 15 year of working in freezing cold! It an illusion ! 100 subscribe to the scheme (scam) 20 succed finsh paying ( we still collect inherit tax ) 50 losses out due to illiness or unemployment! 20 disappear to to increase monthly payments .
sure about the bolded bro? That news is only about 72hrs old. I don't think it will have such a swift effect.,although I understand that is the end game as it was the major reason the ban was effected, to crash housing cost.

I've have answered that multiple times...

Reason is high cos of items due to 10% inflation- the highest in 40yrs.

Now, when was the last time inflation in Nigeria was 10%?
Imagine what UK workers would do if they have suffered a decade of roughly 20% inflation.

BTW, our CBN target for inflation is 9% while theirs is 2%. Says it all.

Still same folly- comparing problems of developed countries to developing countries. Dangote saying he's broke is different from an almajiri being broke.
so based on this analogy, you or rather Nigerians japaing are the almajiri's. Good thing you said it, cos if I or he had said that everywhere for catch fire.

There has been the talk about 20b diaspora remittance inflow too. As usual, any attempt to have intellectual and rational discussions mostly fail, but I was able to PROVE and show the illogicality that this diaspora remittance is what is keeping Nigeria afloat on the thread below. They are a major part of Forex inflows for now, YES, but only amount to 4% of the value of our total productivity (GDP). Therefore the 96% is what is keeping the country afloat as against the 4%. Commonsense right? Well it flew past many heads. All info and evidence on the argument are available on pg 20-23.

https://www.nairaland.com/7447390/lonely-part-canada-no-one/21

Now, see screenshot below by a japarian erico2k2 that responded to a very intelligent lineup of points by lagblogger.

See the hypocrisy now!
See the true negativity?!

The same people that called others negativist and pessimist, rubbished the efforts of the Nigerians who worked hard even in the shithole to contribute that 96% of the GDP. But when I say simple math that diaspora remittance is NOT keeping Nigeria afloat, someone like Mr Ibeokehie said I am putting fellow compatriots abroad down, imagine! For stating simple math that even a toddler understands. How 4 became major to these people and 96 became minor is a phenomenon that should be studied.

Ahibgoilandgas did justice by also giving more information about said inflow, which the tru negativists will not even consider because it would hurt their egos. I have added some too, polithiefcians send money that is part of that inflow, money laundering cartels send money to 'wash' wey dey part of that inflow (we can sha remember Invictus Obi if una no remember anyone else), yahoo boys clients wey send money na still part of that inflow, eBay writers (I used to do this) tech bros/sis and others who earn in foreign currency online, most here have NEVER considered these... But some clique in Nairaland think it is all them, and when you try to open their eyes to see, you are a negative person.

Gerrard59 how is this on the hypocrisy meter? You still think this is about trying to get a visa and failing? Or just about grown men acting like babies..

'Who are the hard-working Nigerians?' he asked. Imagine! Ask any of these Niggas to do 1m giveaway as Jeff bezos wey dem be dem no go fit ooo...lol

Aboki have been remiting forex by telephone in the kano exchange Markets via phone since 1958 from Saudi Arabia to the biggest currency exchange Markets called the WAPA exchange serving the whole west Africa! WAPA own by Mamuda dantata WAPA exchange was the biggest source on remittance into Nigeria after FDI and FPI . By deflaut 100,000 Nigerians go Saudi Arabia every year and only about 80 percent return. While the remain work to send million of USD as remittance to Nigeria. BUT they don't go about catigating their Mother Land and calculating remittance vs federal budgets! They are humble and quiet but hold the real JAPA money!
very well articulated exposition. Let's see those who can refute this. Also to add, our polithiefcians sef dey among the much celebrated 20b USD, abi shey the Atiku's and co no dey send dollars too ni? Money laundering cartels sef dey. Yahoo boys client payments sef dey. But somehow the people in Nairaland travel section believe say na their clique for here dey send the 20b USD which as I have already said and you have rightly echoed is still just 4% of the total pot of soup. Look at how that fellow earlier was putting down the work of hardworking Nigerians that generated the 96%, and was praising the 4%. The toxicity in this section is actually quite entertaining, as it is so bunkum that it is funny, hence, my interest in this section.

So you claimed to work in financial sector and you don’t know the difference between secured and unsecured loan? To make it even ridiculous you quoted bible verses?
again, this is another inaccurate claim. I have never said I worked in the financial sector, ever. I have mentioned the industry I worked in many times, notably pharma and then Vitafoam before I retired in my early 30's three years ago. I understand the concepts of using OPM (other people's money) in business, as I have a MBA (distinction), BUT I don't have the need to apply leverage to my business for now. Was able to have fantastic capital appreciation that has turned one business to two distinct ones. For now, my two business experiments needs no leverage, but when the time comes when financial leverage becomes SENSIBLE I know just how to apply it to my business for best outcomes..certainly won't be taking any loans for pleasure or leisure, no matter how small, cos A borrower is a slave to the lender. I like how the English language dictionaries specifically use the two words 'borrower' and 'lender' when defining home/car/other financing agreements. The lenders know themselves, the borrowers know themselves too cool cool cool
What else?

Yea I know Bible verses are ridiculous to you, but it is my post nonetheless. It is for me and the general public, not for you
