Ain't it amazing that people that have no experience or evidence of enterprise still wanna lecture those who live that life day-to-day about wealth creation and enterprise. Haven't been employed in over three years. If I don't have enterprise and know investment and wealth creation how have I been taking care of my family in today's and yesterday's Nigeria oga? Na GOD!! Ultimately all glory be to God for he has given me the power to make wealth.

He was correct in saying that if others who malign Nigeria (based on the screenshot) are not condemned in the same manner he gets when criticising homeownership via mortgages, then it is hypocritical.

That is my issue with him and his colleagues. The constant opening of threads against relocation is tiring.
I don't even criticize mortgages o, not my money nor my business. If I emigrate what I will do in that regard is in my mind. Someone else said the whole mortgage thingy. I have just been watching all this playing out. Also, I have never opened any relocation thread. How can? Yes I argue, but on points. Intellectual discourse is not a sin or a slight. 'Prove your points' is the simple basis of any proper argument.

To me, it's obvious your comments are discouraging.

I will only believe people like you until you can mention at least 5 positive things about UK.

I don't know why it has become a problem for an adult to take a necessary decision about his life.

What type of citizens are Nigerians? OMG
number 1, I want people to be allowed to have independent thoughts and decisions. Not to be saying things like 'dey play' on top other people's decisions.

Number two, what part of my post is unclear? I said and I repeat, when some things are said and shared by some it is cool and information sharing, but the same thing is shared by others and is a knife to the heart. I included clear examples. So I don't see the discouraging stuff you are talking about.

Please share with me one or two of my discouraging posts. Anyone can take up the challenge. You will only find posts where I am correcting false or exaggerated points of view, or stating my own personal preferences which I am entitled to, or talking about politics and business, or even how I am looking to possibly create a global brand. So, I challenge anyone at all to show me my discouraging posts, let's analyse it.

What kind of citizens are Nigerians? I find myself asking the same question everyday.

you didn't correct a damn thing. Your own post not mine, YOU stated that the majority will need to settle for the low-level jobs looking at the big picture, and the context of that discussion was care jobs and particularly for the immigrants who have spent some years in the country and are in dire need of sponsorship to buy time to get ILR. I said the majority I know are indeed doing those low-level jobs esp even in their early years when ILR isn't even imminent (jobs I'd rather take a bullet to the head than do 50+hrs a week). I honestly don't know how to drum simple logic into your head, i mean its practically impossible to educate you about life in the UK because your mind is fixed on negativity.

Tell me a single post or thread you and Munamoqel have started that has anything positive about the UK. Just one.

Both you jump from thread to thread looking for bad news or just simple question about issues and the next minute you start a thread based on that.

To you and few others here all Nigerians in the UK are suffering, doing menial job, slaving away and have no savings and you know 200 people already.

You don't know the difference between someone on student visa still trying to settle and those who are settled already with full right to live and work.

You are totally ignorant of how well Nigerians are doing in different fields here, absolutely clueless.

A lot of Nigerians in my circle are mortgage holders or outright house owners and will be adding to their property portfolio.

Its laughable that some of you are feeling sorry for someone who just bought a property on mortgage, that goes to show that you know nothing about life or wealth creation

You should be preaching that to yourself this new year because you just completely described yourself and few others .

Its really difficult to figure out how you struggle to read a post and understand it.

You and Munamoqel come to travel section looking for negativity/bad news about people living abroad, you know nothing other than care job and menial jobs.

Any immigrant with mortgage deserves some credit even if that mortgage is for 50 yrs it does not matter because its an asset, the house can be sold or re-mortgaged even before the mortgage period ends and the equity /profit from that could be used for another investment.
really. What evidence do you or anyone have that I am looking for negativity or bad news for people that only exist in pixels and words as far as I know? I don't give a rat's ass about some online people anywhere on the globe that have no impact or bearing or connection to me. That is preposterous.

The question is why can you talk to people about the reality of the likelihood of low level jobs as being what to expect and it is all good, and yet I say same thing and it isn't the reality? That is the koko of my question. Your screenshots below are evidence enough

I posed a question during an exchange we had sometime ago. I From then till now, I have lost count of the number of people that have talked about their job in this same travel section since then (UK esp) and it is a no-brainer that it is exactly like I said, as with over 200 people I know in the UK that are doing FOR NOW, low-level jobs. You said I was a liar, you said pocohantas was lying too. I am not looking down on anyone, I'm just saying it as it is. If you are coming to the UK without special skills or profession (HCP, tech, or finance) you most likely will do those jobs. The problem is when I say that it strikes a nerve, but when you or other japarians say it like the below screenshots, it is enlightenment. If you can't see the hypocrisy, then.....

What is my concern with mortgage decision or arrangement of a stranger, not my money not my borrowing. The problem is it appears only conformist people are allowed to have a peaceful opinion on these matters. Anyone who isn't in the fold and dares to echo even same opinion is evil and wishfully looking for bad news of others. See why I said it was funny earlier?
Cheers!

No long talk. (Sike grin)

Over time, I have noticed a pattern with fellas here, a pattern that comes off as hypocritical.

First time I saw it was when Munamoqel (who was a lil bit extra admittedly) made a comment about mortgage arrangement of a member and was called bad-belle and got a proper bashing when he said the member can only call the said house his/hers when the mortgage is fully paid in X years. Two days later a gentleman in the same thread who lives in the UK said the exact same thing to another member and it was considered enlightenment (not like we all dont know what mortgage or car financing means).

Second time, a member in the health thread that has over a thousand helpful posts in that thread (based in the Uk) but the zealots didn't know or were too emotional) was bashed heavily by some zealots for simply stating a truth with regard to the current state of things as per the care work and all that. It was only until I and some others called them out on their BS and to see the profile of who they were bashing that they took their words back and agreed to the 'enlightenment' (again, in this instance, was not hidden knowledge as most know as e dey go).

Third, I have had a few of these exchanges where I say this is red, and peeps counter aggressively by saying it is blue, but wait a few hours/days/weeks and you'll see those same peeps agreeing/saying it is red when giving 'enlightenment' to others eg the fact that aside healthcare and tech professionals, most immigrants do low-level jobs (care, warehouse, cashier, security etc for at least 1-2 years).

Fourth, look at the link/screenshots below. If I Treadway, wrote those analysis which are facts and indicative of the realities, I would likely be told by at least three people that I am a bad-belle and don't know what I am saying, but since a japarian said it, no fight, no heat, no debate.

https://www.nairaland.com/6719932/living-uk-life-immigrant-part-2/784

This is a new year. Let's change and do better. We all cannot sleep and face the same place. Critical analysis and saying things as they are should be the watchword, with no recourse to whether the person lives in Nigeria or UK or USA or Canada. Intelligent people are intelligent regardless of location. I think it is hypocritical and unintelligent that I can't say the things that these fine gentlemen and ladies have said in these screenshot without getting heat for stating facts, heat that they are not getting simply because they currently reside in the UK.

It is actually quite funny

It was people like this that instigated me join Nairaland, their posts were so denigrating to Nigeria Diasporans and at the same time so blatantly unreasonable & untrue, that I felt pushed to respond. I first came across this sort of thing with another one named Ozoemeka, maybe 5 years ago. I just laughed and that's what I should have done here.

I even tried to inject credibility by using my real name. None of these guys can do that because it would expose their psychology.

I can tell from your posts you're an intelligent fellow who has taken time to study the macroeconomics of Nigeria. If a majority of Nigerians took the time to do that the country would be a very different place. Strangely enough our people see that as a waste of time while living with the results of their ignorance. Yes, there's nothing like fuel subsidy in Nigeria grin Indeed.

I know all about the non existent profits in Nigerian pharmacy....from FAKE and SUBSTANDARD medications. There's NOTHING you can tell me about pharmacy, you chose the wrong business to use for your LIES. Most businesses in the Nigerian pharmacy industry make very little profit. That's just the facts, no matter how good a business person you are, the MACRO-ECONOMICS will dictate a poor outcome for the vast majority of industry participants....whether pharmacy, building materials, restaurants, manufacturing clothes or packaged goods. The Nigerian economy is in deep stagnation and has been that way for DECADES.

You're just another hateful and frustrated Nigerian who can't get a visa to escape the misery in that country. You're here to stir up people and make them feel bad. Unfortunately for you the REALITIES of the situation are too well known and visible. No reasonable person can spew all this your nonsense.

I no even need mention the idumota guys like Jubilee, or other Lagos big wigs in the pharmacy distribution business, wholesale or retail. Kunle Ara in this small Ibadan don do. Infact kunleAra sef seems like overkill. He has been in the business for over 20years. Mary Kay that is a little over 10 years old here sef will bench you easy. Twins pharmacy, apro and J -Apro in Ado-ekiti sef go bench you easy. Point is even without calling Lagos guys or Onitsha head bridge guys, or north guys where dey buy drugs like candy, these 'within the city guys' in SW alone, all the major pharmacies I sold to as a med rep, 99% of them have made and are still making more money than you have ever seen in your career to date. Argue it, doesn't change a thing. I no know the jazz wey go stop me from doing the pharmacy business. Before the end of 2023 God willing, if something I'm working on doesn't require my immediate presence in another country, I am coming into the business big time as a franchisee of a popular pharmacy name here in Ibadan, and by God I will join the list of those big wigs in 5-10years. Can you give an estimate of the number of people living in Nigeria that you think earn £1,000/month?

I know for instance that drilling engineers in the oil & gas industry in Nigeria can earn anywhere from $500 to $2000 per day. Office based engineers in earn somewhere around ₦‎600K to ₦‎1 million per month. This I know, I've seen the paychecks for these people. The TOTAL EMPLOYMENT COUNT in the entire oil & gas industry in Nigeria is 65,000 persons, including drivers, gatemen, secretaries and cleaners. Chevron Nigeria has 600 permanent employees ONLY, anyone else working at Chevron is a temporary contractor. That's an industry I happen to know a bit about.

The TOTAL EMPLOYMENT COUNT for the Federal & State governments combined is about 2 million people. Averaged out, I don't believe they earn so much. How many of them do you think earn £1,000/month?

So could you please estimate for me...make an educated guess...of how many of these super earners there are in Nigeria? Seriously, I'm VERY interested.

I know they exist, I know a fellow who works remotely for Microsoft in Nigeria, he was in my home this past summer. I know another who has a fish farm and makes a lot of money, I know how he pays his workers, I also know how much artisans in the building and quarry trades were making when I employed them in Nigeria. So my close experience and information matches the research reports I've read from PWC and others that only 0.5% of workers in Nigeria earn more than ₦‎200K per month.

Again, it's not that these Super Earners don't exist, the real issue is HOW MANY OF THEM are out there in the Nigerian population? What are the chances that a random person you meet at Abuja Airport earns £1,000/month? That's the koko of the matter, that's more RELEVANT.

Anyway, to each their own. Believe what you want.
this travel section alone is the answer to your question. You haven't been reading about the salaries most japarians were making before they decided to throw everything away for the future, children blablabla. Point is, the people in this section are the ones earning those fat salaries. Most here have alluded (true or false) to making anywhere between 500k to 2milllion a month before dropping it all and getting on that plane. I never was a big earner while in employment, but even in my industry (pharma) middle to top management were making commissions alone of over 10million annually as far back as 2013. That was my Rm's commission in 2013, over 10million, excluding other runs. The commission was 1% at the time, it was given as stock, Na we go sell am send am him money over a period of months. I regretted not being a pharmacist. Make no mistake no be only oil industry money dey. MN pharma companies in Naija alone, Med reps *Pharmacists* (salary and commission) for a productive rep dey enter 500k monthly. Before we now talk of fmcgs like coca cola, Nigerian breweries, BAT, FMN. We never talk others like MTN, Huawei or the financial sector like the big 4, banks etc. Even me with my microbiology degree starting my career in an indigenous pharma company, not even Fisdon or greenlife wey be money bags o. I was able to build a befitting house, buy two cars, get married, get an MBA, responsible for a wife and two children even in this economy without a safety net, saved enough money to invest and re-invest and still reaping from those investments till today. Like I said before if your annual income in a developed country is not in 6 digits forget it. There is a different between living a lifestyle and renting it. The living costs there are much higher, rent is paid monthly, medicare is expensive, you have to get permits and licenses for things we take here for granted. Raising children is more expensive, taxation much more higher, here you can keep millions in your account no one bothers you over there witnout some form of immunity that money will be taken from you.

Making a lot of money without knowing how to keep it in your pocket is another route to poverty.
exactly. If 60k is big man money, wetin we go call those earning over 120k? A good number of firms pay their entry level guys ard 60k in the UK. Not to mention, no one is talking about what the net pay comes to after taxes. Even the .gov link one fella posted earlier, he decided to only show the excel page on gross pay rather than the page of the actual net take home..more earnings, more taxes...lol

60k in fact, in truth and in figures is above average salary. A truly comfortable salary, but nowhere near great

truthfully you have to be a captivating personality and a great orator and very witty before they can respect you. you control them with your oratory skills and wit and when they get enthralled by you then they will calm down and give you your respect. over there you have to earn your respect. they dont give it to you. dont come there with an african accent either. try to neutralise your accent or they will yab you taya
no mind these crusaders wey full here. Dem no understand say na the gospel truth be this. In the first instance, whether you get posh accent or not, these spoilt brats go everly wan size-up or cut-to-size the new guy/woman. E sure die. In Africa, we have respect, in the west where you wan see am, even worse when you come black and no posh. Anyway, I will be here to thoroughly swear for anybody that comes to disturb our peace with sob stories, like being fired for feeding a dog four times instead of twice, or snow....imagine constituting a nuisance on top snow. Dem no read am before dem go abi? And anyone wey come even talk as e be for una, dem go dey shout say my case is different. Ok na..when you lose it and whack a white kid we go read the repercussion story here. Lol

All these finicky feeble-minded folks. The herd mentality reminds me of Jan 27, 2000 Ikeja bomb blast, hundreds all ran into a gaddem canal, one after the other, after the other, after the other, right into an avoidable death. So pathetic a situation, that the bombs that went off weren't eventually the cause of the deaths at the end of the day, but drowning in dirty, shitty water, just cos none had any independent thought in that moment. According to OP, the sole purpose in life of the Nigerian youth must be to have another passport. That is his evaluation of life's worth. Well, let me borrow the trite phrase most here use...is it your money they are building/making? Rest jare.
