Sorry to ask this, the visa on the old passport is still valid till September he’s only going to Ottawa to leave his biometric so do you mean immediately drop his biometric then the old passport is cancelled

1. You can only renew your passport in Ottawa. I don't know what province you in, but you need to travel to Ottawa to renew your passport. The good thing right now is you can receive your passport within 2 to 3 weeks. Use this link below to apply and pay for it. Make sure you have your nin and be ready to pay in usd.

Make sure you take all the necessary documents you are asked to come with on the day of your appointment. Trust me you won't be allowed in if anything is missed especially the bank draft of 50 cad paid to the Nigeria high commission. I suggest you connect with fellow Nigerians to get more info on this.
2. After you have received your passport, then apply to extend your study permit. Log in to your GCkey and Complete the online “Check your eligibility” questionnaire when you click on the "apply to come to canada"
One thing at a time tho. Extend your study permit before thinking of bringing in your spouse

If you are not married yet, you cannot apply for a Spouse Open Work Permit. When you eventually get married and you are applying, you do not need any letter from the school specifically for her application, you would just go on IRCC site, using your GCKey and apply with all the supporting documents. You are absolutely correct. Amen to your prayers and wishes… Funny enough, the kind of happiness in me in this past 2days since my refusal is unexplainable. I can’t explain how someone will be happy when something happened the other way round not as expected… I don’t even act like something happened. When i read people say they are depressed because of refusal this and that, I really can’t relate… because the Joy in me right now is above any level of depression… it feels like a heavy load was taken away from me. Did i tell you i now sleep well? 10pm-6am… I’ve never slept this good before. If i am not up praying till 2am, i will be thinking of IRCC or refreshing mails or googling stuffs about SP application or on NL. For the past 1year it’s been this particular thing. As in, i just started breathing now.. Since i was a child, i have never struggled to get anything before, i just relax and it comes to me, this is the 1st time.. Is it the prayers? Gosh!!! I have never prayed this much in my life.. Visa prayers started even before i applied…Intense prayers oh and fasting even before my LOA came… So did i do my best? Absolutely… no one can do more than i did.. Because more means to just kill yourself. So even God is aware of the current situation and if he is comfortable with it, who am i? I’ve seen people who don’t even believe in God get their Visas like it’s nothing. People who don’t even acknowledge that prayers can do anything get their Visas… So why won’t i be over joyed?

Of course i won’t apply again, make i rest… this is 1 year and a month journey that just ended.. i need a vacation even if na Ireland or UK, let me go and cool my head for a month. It’s not easy. Landing Gist,From Abuja to Halifax Nova Scotia. I left For Abuja Airport on the 22/08/2022 I got to the Airport, I was asked for my Vaccination card, acceptance letter, enrollment letter and passport. I went to collect my boarding pass. My luggages were checked, over weigh,I paid 100 Dollars for excess Luggage my Airline was Air France.
It came to 7:55 We boarded to Paris France. We stopped over at N,Djamena Chad for 1 hour we didn't come down from the aircraft. We left around 11 pm to Paris, we got to Paris 6: am Paris time. We had lay over for 5 hours.
We boarded to Montreal by 12:30pm dot because our flight was delayed for 1hr:30m. We arrived Montreal 1:30 pm local time.
I had already submitted my ArriveCan information and CBSA declaration items through my ArriveCan app, so there was no stress just confirm that my information was true and submitted in less than a minute on the kiosk machine.
I proceeded to the next officer was asked for my ArriveCan, if I carry anything like raw meat as my food stuff, I said no. The young fine girl asked me to proceed to the queue to get my Study permit
the queue was not much, when it got to my turn for study permit, a pretty fine young girl again was the officer,�� She greeted me with respect and asked for my passport and letter of introduction only printed my study permit and gave me, no questions or queries.
I proceeded to claim my baggages and waited for my connecting flight to Halifax Nova Scotia.

The only issue I had was that immigration gave me 1 month study visa for a 4 year study program, I don't know if the immigration officer smoke weed that day for doing that. when I got to Canada 3 weeks were gone from the 1 month remaining only 1 week, so the CBSA told me they can't give me study permit beyond the validity of the visa on my passport, that I should call the immigration immediately to explain the situation to them to extend my study permit. So I was given 1 week study permit.
I had to contact the immigration immediately they asked me to apply for extension of the study permit online before that one week given to me expires, I did waiting for approval soon. However I explained to the school, and was asked to show proof of extension application,I did. They told me I can start classes. Canada is very beautiful and worth every stress and money spent. I pray that everyone waiting for their PPR shall testify soon in Jesus name amen. Don't give up. Nothing good comes easily.

I don't even know where to start. It's a long story but I will keep it short with my Timeline

Now you will know why I said it is God's grace

TIMELINE:
Application submitted: MARCH 1st
Upfront medical: APRIL 26th
ordered my GCMS note April 23rd
I kept on resending Medical slip while waiting
ELIGIBILITY: MAY 4th
I stopped sending Medical slip MAY 9th.
MEDICAL PASS: MAY 16th
Note arrived: MAY 31
I submitted extra Documents
I kept on resending the docs while waiting
Ordered another Note: June 3rd. Nothing changed on my App yet.
Waiting period continues
Note Arrived: July 29th
All documents were acknowledged in my note
But nothing changed on my application still, except for the additional document they acknowledged.
I sent another Document and
ordered another Note: August 3rd
I kept on resending the new document while waiting
N.B: I used both Webform & Email for the submission of the extra Docs
The waiting period continued.
Then it got to some point I laughed at myself but the only thing I was doing is keeping my hope high whenever I felt down. Guess what, my agent didn't submit STATEMENT OF PURPOSE (SOP) along with my application, this alone wan make I craze but Omo na laugh I dey laugh too saying God will do it. I decided to take a step and not be ignorant, and then I found myself in @KrystalOD DM. I even thought she won't respond to my issue but as God will have it she responded and before I knew she took my issue personally as if na her matter, she asked me a lot of questions and started working out solutions for me. I will say this, CRYSTAL, GOD BLESS YOU! ONCE AGAIN, GOD BLESS YOU!! GOD BLESS YOU!!!
She finished everything and send it to me, and also gave me some procedures to follow which I did and I kept waiting but I never stopped resending additional documents until IRCC told me documents are received by the responsible office.
Just around 5:00am, I decided to resend my SOP again and then went to sleep but to my surprise when I woke up, I just say make I check my phone na email full my phone oh ☺️☺️
BVL: Aug 31st
PPR: Aug 31st

GOD DID IT! Honestly, God did it! I'm purely a novice when it comes to this immigration package but God showed His mercy. Hallelujah! God of perfect Jubilee has done wonders in my life ...
