TravelRe: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant Part 2 by Treasure1611: 8:56pm On Mar 02, 2019
Hello My people good day, I would really love to hear from anyone living in New Brunswick. The choice of province to settle is a tough one. We are considering Job opportunities vs Cost of living.
We are wondering if New Brunswick is a good idea for a new immigrant to land and if there are also huge job market for people in finance/banking. Although I'm aware that Ontario is the financial hub of Canada, but worried about the cost of living there.

Will appreciate inputs please, its been a tustle of the mind and we hope to land soon.

Thank you so much.

Very big Congratulations!!!!!!!
Please how did you know your visa office.
Bonvieto:
It's PPR! Sorry for the delay in dropping this, it’s been a long hectic week

My timeline

ITA: July 25, 2018
AOR: Sept 3, 2018
Biometrics: Sept 26, 2018
RPRF Mail: Nov 20,2018
PPR: Dec 18
Visa office: Ottawa
IELTS: First attempt (FEB 10) LSRW 8.5,8.5,8.5,7.5

POF:
used my savings account, and gift deed from my parents, and a simple LOE explaining that

My story
I got deported from the UK, naa scam lawyer do me, lawyer never submitted my residence application but kept taking my money, I only found out when I got picked up, out of the blue, but it is well. Sharing this in case anyone is on this thread and wondering if being deported from another country other than Canada affects one’s chances of obtaining PPR from Canada, it doesn’t!!!

Immediately I touched down in Nigeria, I gave myself a month to wallow, and by Jan 2018, I began the EE process, I paid for IELTS and wrote in Jan, I used WES to verify my Masters Degree from the UK, it was straightforward and easy for me sha, not sure why ppl nowadays complain of WES?. I didn’t need to verify my BSc. Thanks to this forum.

POF was an almighty struggle, rejected my first ITA because I couldn’t get the complete POF, but I didn’t give up, I reapplied again and put double effort to get the POF sorted, I only used a simple savings account, gift deed, and LOE explaining the huge chunk inflow in a short time.
OH and yes I did say during my application that I was deported before, and I explained the reasons and submitted proof in my LOE, and it ended in praise, Thank God.

MY ADVICE;
1. Don’t lie, Canada runs checks before and after you get your PPR.
2. Try and make your LOE as simple and straight to the point as possible
3. I used a pdf creator to arrange my documents, I also named each document with my name express entry number and what document it was e.g Lagbaja LOE 12345789.pdf
4. One thing I have realised is the easier you make it for an Officer to read your application the quicker it gets approved.

I thank God for everything.

Am not sure that's true. You can get diploma in foundations and you dont need any credential to register.
Study pack for f1 f2 and f3 is same as FAB, FFA and FAM in d foundations level.

See screenshot below from ACCA Website

happytbaby:
Good morning,

Please note that the courses being discussed with respect to ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business are papers F1 to F3, not FA....something something, let's people be confused and go and register for Foundations exam; hoping to get the Diploma at the end to meet a shocker.

Whislt on the subject of ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business, I recall seeing a post where someone said people should register with WAEC, PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS INFORMATION IS INCORRECT, WAEC will take you to Foundations, you need to use your BSc, what is required for the Diploma is A'Level, our WAEC is O'Level.

If you have a science background (degree), or any other background that is not related to accounting, you will start from F1, but if you have Bsc in something like Economics or Banking and Finance, you will be exempted from F1, left to me, I would rather you even waive the exemption and write all three. For accounting graduates, who are awarded F1 to F4 conversion pass, please note that you can still waive your exemptions to write the papers and get your certificate.

Please let us be careful.

Just wanted to put this here before getting bogged down into my day, have a nice day everyone.

Dear All,
Great job you all are doing here. Very big thumbs up. I always make sure i catch up on you guys daily like a "to do".
Just wanna chip in something.

For those that wants to boost CRS points on educational level. The M.Sc in NOUN is actually 3 semesters but you can finish in 2 semesters depending on your pace. M.sc also earns you more points than 2 or more certificates.

My two cents

Thank you so so much @happytbaby

[Qquote author=happytbaby post=66475832]What is the concern? Is it because it's your father's company? If that is the issue....imagine Dangote's child working for who? Working for your Daddy's company is not a crime.

The only issue here is that they my be more detailed in trying to verify that she actually worked there, because people can easily lie about this kind of thing. She may explain that it was her father's company and back the reference up with statement of account showing payments coming from the company into her account. Else, she may be silent about the relationship after all Daddy does not have to be the one to sign the reference. However, remember that a Google search might bring it up.

Please be mindful of social media profiles too.
Pls help us ans the question

Can all your POF be in treasury bills and if a statement of account will still be required.

Lufthansa:
@tribed, can u please confirm this as I read ur post in part 2 where you explained that if one has the POF in the form of TBill prior to ITA. The TBill certificate alongside the exchange rate from xe.com without an account statement are ok to be used as POF. Did I get u right? I will appreciate if u can confirm this. Thank you in anticipation of ur response

@smileymum, any luck on the transcript/ pre-degree evaluation.

Please share. It seems we dont have any practical example yet.

smileymum:
Good morning guys. Please can someone be kind enough to help with an answer to the bolded? My friend did a pre-degree in sciences with OSU, I need to get a contact in OSU exams and records office to help in confirming if he can get a transcript and result to help in his WES evaluation. He wants to see if he can use it to add to his Bsc and claim points for 2 or more certificates. Thanks.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 3 by Treasure1611: 1:45pm On Mar 26, 2018
Am referring to the pre-degree programme. I already have the Notification of result for it and it also shows scores breakdown. I just want to know based on your friend's own, the documents required for an evalauation like this.
mcstan18:
I don't think you can successfully evaluate without a cert/notification of result and transcript but there's no harm in adding it to your cart if you have spare cash. Maybe you'd set a precedence for others here to follow
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 3 by Treasure1611: 1:07pm On Mar 26, 2018
@mcstan18 Thank you so much
All i have is a statement of result for the pre-degree programme showing a breakdown of my scores during the one year programme , i dont think there's a transcript for that.
Can i fax that, or i need more.....

mcstan18:
He used WES

@mcstan18,

Pls which ECA did your friend use for tge evaluation. I would like some insight. Am in same shoes.

Thanks

mcstan18:
I'll tell you a story
My friend Udeme and I sat for JAMB some years ago. My score was good enough to get me admitted into the university, his wasn't. He had to proceed to another school that offered the then diploma program for one year after which he joined the regular degree program as a sophomore. We graduated the same year (but from different schools anyway) and now he's on IP2 because he had "2 or more certificates..." blah blah blah cheesy

Now I wish I didn't pass that JAMB too cry

I haven't heard about the remedial program thingy anyway
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 3 by Treasure1611: 7:15am On Mar 26, 2018
Pls which ECA reviewed pre degree and BSc as 2 or more certificates. Your help is needed.

Thanks

A trial will convince you.

if pre degree has been reviewed to give someone 2 or more certificates.

Then what are you waiting for.
Please which store did you try the money order, i have tried two different stores with my GTBank card and transaction was declined.

Thank you

Hello Mamas, trust you are all doing well. Just a tip of how I was able to manage my way through the forex hustle ( and this might be useful for those that were not able to get PTA or travelex or those that need more forex apart what they cld get from banks or travelex. ). I used the Money Order approach, gave the money order to my host who then went to her bank and got me the cash equivalent. Stanbic has a limit of $1500 per month. You can do up to $500 per day (as per daily limit on POS transaction) and the charge on each order is $1.20. The exchange rate as at last week (and I also think today too) is N380 to a dollar which is a lot cheaper than black market (about N420/N425 to a dollar).
If you can have multiple accounts it will increase how much you can get(e.g. 1 account for me, 1 for DH, 1 joint account, 1 for my daughter gave me a total of $6000 at N380.

I also tried GTB too but their own market too cost (N395 to a dollar) and limit na 1000dollars per month.
I hope someone will find it useful, otherwise just ignore.
