Fucking savages, look at the animals we are forced to live with, I don't blame them, it's the idiotic southerners that still shout one Nigeria, one Nigeria my foot where they believe the Sharia is greater than the Nigerian Constitution, watch how elites and top northerners will be silent over this issue, they never fail to support their own even in barbarism. Just a few days ago, a northern senator of Nigeria bailed those involved in the mile 12 fracas some months back!! Not only bailed them but relocated them and gave them money join! I shake my head for southerners who think living with this people is normal. Go to school, they won't, when they finally go to school it's Islamic school they will go to. The whole world is exporting one important thing to another like technology or culture, and here we have a set of people called Muslims that have done nothing but export terrorism the world over. That's why I like Israel, they have dealth with this people for thousands of years and realized they don't understand common reasoning or logic, it's only force or violence that can keep us in check. Let us keep watching as buhari will disintegrate this country along religious and ethnic lines just as how it happened in Rwanda. I dey laff

You can't jail people for padding the budget because they have not stolen any money in the real sense. Budget padding is just preparing the ground for future corruption. You can only take administrative actions against such people and the president already did that. He sacked the DG of the budget office and redeployed all the directors in the office. That's enough action for me.

On Fashola and Amaechi, it's the responsibilities of the government of Lagos and Rivers to investigate and prosecute them respectively. Buhari cannot do everything. Tell Wike and Ambode to do the needful, that's why they both have ministry of justice.
lmao, so efcc now can go on selective vendetta? It's no more the duty of efcc to go after politicians accused of corrupt practises? It's hypocrisy like this that makes us not progress
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Needs $700 Million To Upgrade Refineries – Kachikwu by trendytrendz: 12:43pm On Apr 24, 2016
samx4real:
Even if they don't want to use the recovered funds...

Why can't they use the money they got from the sale of crude to finance it.

Nigeria produces 2.27 million barrels of crude daily

Oga Kachukwu needs $700million to repair d refinery.
Crude oil price is $46.

Meaning they will be needing the sale of 700,000,000/46 =15.22million barrels.

NIGERIA produces 2.27 million barrels daily

Meaning 15.22million barrels of crude can be gotten in 7 days...
2.27 m bpd × 7d= 15.89 barrels per day.

If d mathematics I was thought in school is correct and adding natural conditions to the operation of the industry.

I will say, within 10 days or 2 weeks NNPC can produce enough crude they will use in fixing the refinery.

They should stop deceiving us!
Google the cost of production in Nigeria before you assume, cost to produce the crude oil is around $30 per barrel, so that's $16 left at current prices, minus other expenses

Actually, that is not correct.

The current blackouts began in 1978...the same year the old Electricity Corp of Nigeria became the National Elelctric Power Authority.

The problem was, in my opinion, aggravated by

1.Lots of people getting connected to the National Grid , espeically from the 1980's onward without an increase in generation.

2.Many Organisations and people not paying their bills.

3.The messed up transmission system.

It is a shame, yes....but fixing it up is going to take a very long time. In fact my annoyance with the GEJ and PMB admins is that they are not honest enough to tell us that it would take a long time.

Modified....And now we are in Front Page....

On a more serious note....if you expect 24 hours power supply in the enxt few years, you might have to wait a little while longer.

The transmission and generation system needs fixing. And we need to generate far more than what we have because 5000MW is not enough for Nigeria...whichever way you look at it.

I would like the government and the DISCOS to be honest with us and tell us that it is going to take long...and what needs to be done. Not promises, promises.!
simple solution to the power problem is power decentralization. It makes no sense to be transmitting electricity over long distances! Cause you lose a lot of electricity when you do and the issue of vandalization because of so much km of pipeline to transport gas needed for power generation. But they won't decentralize because some backward regions in this country are pulling us back and won't have anybody to generate and distribute electricity to them once they implement use as you generate policy. 2nd solution is still linked to decentralization and that is renewable energy, I watched a video on YouTube of how Australia setup a wind turbine farm producing 350mw from 152 wind turbines in 9months! It's just so simple, produce and distribute to the nearest location, Lagos is currently getting around 300mw and below from national grid but if they push for power decentralization, a state like Lagos can establish such a scheme and before u know it, every state will be producing their own power without sending all the way to national grid and spending money on transmission and still losing electricity along the way

And Iran that came into oil market to crash oil price is PMB fault ba? Just try be reasonable in criticism . The fall in oil price crashes the naira because we are a mono economy. We export only oil. Past governments failed to diversify when the price was right. We didn't prepare for the rainy day.. That's why we are here today.
dude, when people keep saying government didn't diversify I laugh, the government is not meant to diversify nothing! It's the citizens. The government is just supposed to make enabling environment to aid diversification, that's why our stupid minister of science and whatever is coming out to say we would start producing pencil by 2018, wtf concerns a government with pencil production. Take for instance the American economy, you have tech start ups worth billions now and not one of all those companies are owned by the government, Amazon started out as a book selling outlet and today is worth billions selling all kinds of stuff, Apple is the idea of 2 people, Steve woz and Steve jobs, Tesla the car company is the brain child of elon musk, need I go on and on, all this people Came up with solutions to problems and their companies are worth billions today and employ thousands of people, hence they have already diversified the economy without government input, look at Hollywood, abi would you say government should diversify to the extent of movie production again? Only one movie, the recent star wars grosses $2bill dollars world wide and from the u.s, imagine the input of the money in the American economy, that's diversification, plus the money the American government will make from tax and all. So when people keep saying the government didn't diversify our economy I just laugh, cause that's not the work of the government. That's why dangote is growing in leaps and bounds, so should we be waiting for government to start producing cement too? Nope but one man saw the opportunity and built multi billion naira business from it, now he has sugar, flour, salt, and soon petrochemical plant coming up.

That's becos lazy Nigerians aren't producing enough export to keep them busy. What we like is that the FG subsidizes Dollar for us to go buy cheap Dubai and China made articles thereby help keeping their own economy afloat. Oil price has dwindled and it is time for those chest beating citizens to start exporting their products if any exist. We could av been exporting refine crude but PDP refused building refineries when there was money. They preferred to increase unproductive workers pay and steal us dry. Jonathan, the ineffe, finish the economy indeed.
what have you produced yourself? People will just come online and be making noise. Enter the production and see if it's easy, no loans at all, no skilled labour Nd u want us to compete with the rest of the world, worse there is no light, do you want to run your factory on generators?

if a Chinese company folded up for making carpets that full ground for kano and litters our market, then u shld understand that it lacked the visibility study to begin in the first place.

do u think things are not supposed to be cheaper if not for diesel costs added to production costs?

so, what I am saying is dt, the ones who survived are already used to powering with diesel.

now, let me educate you over this: things produced in Nigeria are far more durable than those imported from China. that is why the Chinese ones are cheaper. u have a choice.

the the thickness are not as the one produced locally. I will give u a few instances based on experience...

a steel stanchion from China measures 11.4m whole the indigenous measured 12m.

a thickness gauge of 0.5mm roofing sheets from China is actually 0.45mm.

a neon bulb from China will last for an average time of two months, while the others lasts for at least, a yr.

things being cheaper is not the case, what abt the durability.

who knows, someone already started the design of a generator that uses water...who knows... it may actually be a saviour!

necessity produces genuis!!!
if you want quality, the Chinese will give you quality, iPhone is made in China, Samsung phones are made in China, almost all electronics are made in China, machineries are made in China, so the issue of quality is non existent, it's what you want that they will give you. I shop online a lot, and I buy wares from river island u.k, their shoes and clothing are made in china but it's not of low quality. It's the Nigerian market demanding low quality items because of the reduced price

u shld increase ur sinking capacity and think wider.

1. it is impossible for every trader to still have the goods of almost 3 months on ground...unless u're a petty trader.

2. if it finishes...people will improvise. only the super rich will be able to afford the average things by then.

if a fake razor blade (Nigerian made) is sold for 5 naira, and imported tiger blade is sold for 20naira (current price), who wld buy the 20naira own unless they are rich enough?

in a nut she'll, the average Nigerian is more then the rich ones, those who prefer to import will be left at the mercy of the rich ones while the larger masses goes for the indigenous.

sooner or later, some average trader will stop importing because they will be unable to sell as quickly as they shld.

then the company in China will loose customers and decides to open a company here where the original blade will be sold for 10naira. then someone with the will of adenuga of GLo mobile will open a razor blade company and sell at 6naira...

that is where it all starts...
have you taken into account the lack of educated labour in Nigeria? I know of a Chinese company that started producing carpet in Nigeria but closed up the business later cause importing from China was far cheaper and sustainable, I haven't seen light in 1wk, how do u expect a massive factory to power their machines? With generator?? All the world over, as at yesterday, Italy was complaining of losing the fabric market to china because it's simply cheaper to produce in china, do you produce more clothes than Italy? Nigerians just come to talk about local production without knowing every single bit about it, we will still need to import Chinese expatriates to teach us how to run and service the same machine they sold to us, so what are you producing locally if even expertise is imported? Why don't you have a Nigerian construction company handling most construction projects around Nigeria just like Julius berger or ccecc are doing. So I want to ask you, if you import fabric like cotton, and still import the machine to make the cloth but only assemble the cloth in Nigeria, are you really producing locally?/

4G is still 3g to those who have some bold5 or samsung including Htc too that shows 4g what u av is 3.5g but it's just approximate it.

The Main 4G Network Is LTE, which is very fast no doubt, but even 3.5g in most countries is faster than our spectranet, smile or swift LTE speeds

3.5G on its own is a beast if you use it in advanced countries you know our mtn and co is bull shit, not to talk of real 4g lte

What these swift and spectranet e.t.c are doing is just giving us good 3.5g speeds but broadcasting them through 4g receptions
Imagine a LTE network that can't download at 2mbps even quality 3.5g can achieve up to 6mbps download speed
