Bros,
the odometer no show o ?
Emeshot, why dont U provide some performance info on this car-Seating Capacity, Mpg, Age, acceptability in Nigeria.
Yes I know dis info is available online & U did not come to lagos with anybody in mind, but the info would really help.
Great Day.
AutosRe: 2 clean accords For The Price Of 1 (bogof) by trisurface: 9:05pm On Jul 11, 2009
Middleman,
Thanks for the saturday evening comedy-I read this on Saturday evening
I hope U were able to conceal your comic aspect when they were handing over the cars to you, so U dont get sued for poor representation?
i also wonder if U can sell one and release the other one on faith till they're both tried & tested?
are U allowed to sell to a girlfriend instead of Wife?
Can we establish from both Odometers that 1 of the 2 previous owners was more of a johnny/Janet Walker than the partner?
Car TalkRe: Smart Car. Would You Use/Buy One? by trisurface: 8:53pm On Jul 11, 2009
I dont know about em smart cars. I travel a bit and i wont be caught dead in that on Benin -Ore. i also live in a lagos suburb, soooo, its not really working fer me.Believe me, I 've been priviledged to see a whole 4tonner halfway buried in the earth when the ground under it gave way on the same express.Truly a sight to see before U die!
I appreciate the low fuel consumption, totally recyclable materials,The green feeling & cred that comes with it, but we're not ready yet. i've seen 2mercedes benz types in Ikoyi & they RATTLE.
Also, how much of your family can U move in the thing.
What if you all have a bit of circumference round the waist?
The mini is a lot better, if U can get someone to fix it.
A Golf 4 is just as Good & U can get someone to fix it.

Your Honesty's Commendable. Sadly, the road to Hell is paved with good intentions.
Tie down the parity between the condition of the car on importation & condition of the car at handover. Nigerian roads aint meant for U alone, U gotta share em with other users-Catch my Drift?
If the price is great like Igwe says,No Wahala. If its average, U need to cut the buyer a sweeter deal. Right now, U need a little more than he needs U.
Great Day Sir.
AutosRe: Gat Some Cars 4 Sale by trisurface: 4:38pm On Jul 04, 2009
Lord Gboye,
I'm interested in your Mazda Truck, but I'm also interested in you complying fully with the Forum rules. You've started well. Your prices seem fair thus the response. But U're going to get much more buyer mileage with pics, details, contact.
Confident U'll do what U can.
Great Day.
AutosRe: 1999 Nissan Quest for sale ...nigerian used by trisurface: 8:51am On Jul 04, 2009
I dont Understand something O!
5 out of 10 lagos used cars on this forum have number plates that look older than the car.
They're faded-Which is Ok-no one resprays plates when they do painting
But they're frequently bent & cutting into two slowly.
If its a function of our roads, how do the cars remain so neat?
QUESTION
1.How long does it take the colored plates to fade? Did the old Black & Aluminum ones fade easily as well?
2.Can u apply and get new plates from the FRSC or alternately LASG
3.Apart from washing, light waxing, should u use a Transparent screen to cover Plates?
Lord Viper, ke kwanu?
AutosRe: Nissan Primera 2.0slx For Sale 500k (negotiable) by trisurface: 8:42am On Jul 04, 2009
We can all learn from Tonye-T's response. Calm, educative. facts that can be affirmed or denied.Yes, the car dont look great. I was also going to rip into him-I'm trying to learn moderation like everybody else- till i saw his response.
But Tonye, U did not do yourself any favors by not washing & waxing that car B4 U posted. and i dont agree its the Camera. I f i know anything, i know cameras make things look better, not worse usually.
I hope whats under the Hood gives a better impression.
Best of Luck,Dude.
AutosRe: Toyota Carina E: Hotcake! For Sale by trisurface: 11:25am On Jun 24, 2009
Viperman/Gentlemen-and i use the word very loosely,
I've been on this Forum for a while & i've never seen anyone commend anybody for RIGHTLY priced vehicles.
SIENA gets kudos for technical depth all the time, but no one gets praised for selling cars cheaply.
I also do not agree that U can place any price on a car & call it ASKING price.
What happens when you do dis is that  people face the personality behind the price or simply mark you as an opportunist & switch off. Believe me, it costs U sales in a small country & even smaller forum.
Viperman, U're an elder on this site. even if by Posts alone. Easy on the Swearing.
Maybe , we should do a small competition for the dealer with the best prices.
its not that difficult.
Gentlemen, lets watch our language.
If U disapprove of someone online,How would you be willing to meet them in person?
Remember, all the biggest deals are done in person, not online.
Great Day, People.
BusyBody, U quiet small for this forum. Is it Well?

AutosRe: Toyota Corrola Model 1999/2000 by trisurface: 10:34pm On Jun 14, 2009
Busy Body Ma'am,
Good day.
your post came right after mine and U seemed to defend Jayon's former & new stance, calling me? a jobless loon.
Inbred caution prevents me from replying with same amount of vitriol. Propriety compels me to give you the benefit of the Doubt.
A guilty plea b4 any court does not make an offender immune from punishment. perhaps a reduced sentence.
Jayon's initial position was extreme. Dis is not a personal position as you can see from the threads.
Still, the Gentleman? has refrained from hurling abuse back which counts for something in my book.
You on the other hand show no such restraint. You'll have your reasons, but since it would hurt to put myself in your shoes,You wont mind if i pass.
Best of Luck on your other skirmishes on & offline,

Another Knife carrying member!
Sirs, there's something called a Halo Effect. it refers to the perception people have of you & the decisions they take based on that perception. If there's anything people cant stand, its having their intelligence insulted or cheated openly. some one posted one old Hyundai Elantra here early in the week at a ridiculous price.
All man join hand abuse im mama!

Car TalkRe: Why Are Very Little Demand For Pick-up Trucks Here? by trisurface: 12:42am On Jun 06, 2009
now U guys tell me? this is what i think-
1.So few trucks come in because Even stateside, Pickups are not changed with the frequency of salons & so fewer are available for trade ins
2. Europe, where a good number of our cars come from is not home to many INDIGENOUS truck firms. Though Toyota & Nissan have plants there, their cars are not covered by Encouraging trade in policies that countries like Germany offer home bred vehicle firms.
3.Owning a pickup in Nigeria costs more than the Average salon. Most pickups are perceived as for commercial purposes & require Hackney permitS, Revenue stickers etc before use here. all this can set you back 30k in a year. the dealers know this and detail their imports accordingly.
4. Few Pickups are marketed as sexily as cars. therefore, you rarely dream of a pickup when making a car choice.

Furthermore, anyone who has a Clean Lagos used pickup for between 400-550k can reach me at my e mail address-rnvtia@yahoo.com.

CultureRe: Superstitious Ban Of Palm Fruits By Oba by trisurface: 8:08am On May 31, 2009
i'm torn between my predominant beliefs as a christian,My respect for others traditions and my love for Benin town.
this is what i know.
Benin indigenes are some of the most brilliant people i know. succes in Business,Academia, socially outstanding etc.
the King has been mostly benovelent. the man is an INSTITUTION.
but i cant help but note that few people, especially other monarchs argue with the Omonoba. unlike in others states, where there's controversy over headship of the traditional kings council, for benin, no one dey argue.
the Kingship is not above the constitution of the federal republic or state.
in Christianity, we've learnt not to fight God's wars for him-His hand's not too short, neither is he deaf!
On the same lines, the law can defend itself.
if the Oba has transgessed people's freedoms & trampled the law, let the law take its course.
At the bottom of my heart, i keep on hearing the refrain-"All you know is not all there is to know"
Christianity EtcRe: Nairaland Christian E-Fellowship by trisurface: 11:01pm On May 25, 2009
who else out there is struggling with his salvation day in day out.
who else finds himself slipping into his old ways, catching himself just in time.
is there anyone out there who still rejoices at the little miracles that happen to him nowadays just because he dared to pray towards it.
who else wonders if God can really do anything with her-You see inspite of her new birth, she's not read the bible in 4 days.
is there someone out there who can only be himself and full of Joy in church.
and where are the new friends who are supposed to fill the void left by your non christian ones.
does she sometime rejoice that she's not fallen into that oh so shameful sin that used to dominate her quiet moments before.
who's the man who acknowledges change in his life but is not totally free of the effects of his former life yet.
why are certain books in the bible so hard to read.
why is it so hard to pray now and then.
who is the person whose worst fear is being without the holy spirit

You are the new christian. and the not so new. the not so sure.
you get nothing by giving up-You only make it harder to come back
celebrate your victories-Right after you've thanked him for helping you achieve them.
Ask for the holy spirit. question him, argue but Obey.
when its hard to pray, shorten the prayer. finish one, start another.
when past images torment you, do something for someone else. pick all the people around you. start praying for them one by one.it does not matter if they are strangers. infact its easier.
when voices come into your head, let them talk. if its the devil, you'll know in the 3rd-4th sentence. you see, he cant counsel good for anything. all his words tend towards unbelief, depravity, evil. repeat the name of Jesus. then do something for someone els's good.
cry when you have to. its no shame.
just remember, he forgets your sins & your foul ups for his own sake-IF HE'S NOT HOLDING YOUR SIN AGAINST YOU, WHY SHOULD ANYONE?
SportsRe: Enyeama Wins Israeli Player Of The Year Award by trisurface: 10:24pm On May 25, 2009
does anybody remember the shot he stopped in the Nigeria/ England match in the last world cup we went for?
last quarter of the game,Beckham or Scholes shot from 25-30yds, swerving at the last minute!
i've spent time in post before. the best keepers in the world are the ones who decide the trajectory of the ball correctly. Enyeama has that for frontal shots. less so for crosses.

Car TalkRe: How Reliable Are BMW Cars? by trisurface: 5:55pm On Dec 09, 2008
if u've ever driven a BMW,you'll always keep your options open.from Isuzus to Peugeots,Vauxhalls to Nissans, I've ben fortunate to run them all.
i can tell you that on Lagos-Benin, between Oore & Ofosu, thieves on your tail in a Land Cruiser, the only car that will heighten your chances of getting away is a BMW.
Turning around corners, time taken to regain stability after bouncing, Headlights acuity, Braking distance, the BMW is untouched,
Nothing compares to a fit BMW.
EOD, I hope.

AutosRe: Advantages Of Mercedes 190 by trisurface: 12:59pm On Oct 15, 2008
nothing strange about a 190 that does 7.5km/l. everything strange about one that does less. had a sweet 3series bmw once. used to get 10.5lts/km when doing interstate. have looked at european cars differently since then.
on the other hand, i want somebody to give me a shorlist of 5cars,made between 98-2008 that can do 9kms/Lt. pls exclude any late Honda Accords/VW Golfs & the Toyota corolla.

LiteratureRe: Let's Write! Add Your Bit To This Story! by trisurface: 6:39pm On Oct 13, 2008
jummie/Banderas,
heads up pls.
banderas, MJ is the synonym of peter parker or Spiderman's Girl/Wife. mary jane for full. should i have said lois lane? tell me the penny's dropped!
i guess the first thing we learn as writers-And i use the term loosely where I'm concerned- is that the Ego will not lie low. I dropped in MJ because I used to be a comic freak, same way Jummie moved Tangentially & put in Private Eye in what looked like a romance story-She/He'll have to tell you why, by the way-. I did not put in the Detective, but while we're at it,why not Jazz it up was my thinking.
Banderas, U've forcefully brought the story back to your idea of its supposed Trajectory. i could alter its velocity & Direction but to what avail if you'll only bring it back?
i pride myself on being able to work with anybody's storyline. if this is the literary exercise its supposed to be, I say you shouldnt appoint yourself Big Brother! and whats sanity anyway?
do we have an advisory board on content & guidelines? if we do, let them Adjudicate? if we dont, maybe we need one.
your call ,Jummie.

tom dropped the folder after reading for twelve minutes straight. his mind was wandering.he got precious little done when his attention was split. something was niggling at a corner of his mind. it was, it looked like, his mobile phone beeped, the name MJ appearing on the screen.his friend's wife. her husband was dotun, a professional colleague, one of the few he could bounce ideas off. they both called his wife MJ, short for Maryjane cos when they were courting, Dotun was using two identities, posing as two different suitors. one entirely online, the other physical.she never found out till Dotun confessed.
'Mr T, whats's good?
'same ni', responded Tom running his fingers across the folder on his table,MJ Probably couldnt reach her husband & wanted to know if he was with Tom, "with you now? she finished as he tuned back to her. 'No, we spoke earlier in the day about 10am. he is supposed to be in the Governor's weekly security meeting. No way his phone will be on if he's in that meeting"
you know more about my husband's movement than i do & I'm the one who said "I do", speaking of which, when are you going to get that pretty jessica girl to say "i do"?
'all in good time maryjan, er Bunmi'.
I'm Going to pretend i did not hear what you almost said, she replied. must go now, picking the Kids up in 10mins. she hung up, he returned to his thoughts. maryjane,Jane,Jessica, my God, that was it. he jumped up, ran for the door.
