Osun LG Crisis: Why President Tinubu Must Call His Nephew, Gboyega Oyetola to Order By Rasaq Hamzat Osun State has been in the news lately due to a crisis that erupted following a Court of Appeal judgment that reportedly reinstated the sacked local government chairmen, just a few days before the election of new council bosses. Meanwhile, the truth of the matter is that there was no part in the judgment that instructed the sacked chairmen to return to office. The appeal court only addressed the issue of jurisdiction, not the judgment that had sacked the chairmen in 2022 under the administration of former Governor Gboyega Oyetola. Immediately after the appeal court judgment, the sacked chairmen, under the instruction and backing of the former governor, Gboyega Oyetola, planned their return to the local government councils to forcefully take over. Unfortunately, this coup-like resumption destabilized Osun State and led to the death of one of the chairmen, and injuries to several others, including PDP members in the state. Although these sacked chairmen are not entirely to blame, there is a Yoruba saying that goes, "Ti o ba nidi, obirin o kin je kumolu," which means "There is always a reason for everything." The reason behind these unlawful actions by the chairmen is simply because of Oyetola. Without his interference or input, these chairmen would have remained at home and planned how to approach the court for their reinstatement. However, they were given a separate order by Oyetola, who is believed to have the ear of President Tinubu because of their relationship. It is quite understandable that Oyetola plans to return to Osun State as governor next year and would need grassroots support, which is essentially a function of the local government chairmen. However, this approach is totally wrong and will only wreck his ambition further. Maybe Oyetola has forgotten the reason the people of Osun State rejected him and his party completely in 2022. His administration remains one of the worst the state has experienced in decades, with low performance, no government presence, no welfare for workers, no significant infrastructure development, no connection with the people, and gross injustices, among other issues. It was so bad that even in the government house, Oyetola lost to the now-governor, Ademola Adeleke, who had never been a governor before. The margin was just too wide for any form of rigging to have taken place, yet there were still some forms of rigging, though they couldn’t overcome the disgraceful loss Oyetola suffered in Osun State. When he realized that by popular vote he had lost, he approached the court and managed to get a victory at the appeal court. I can remember him driving into Osun State with a broom in his hands, signaling victory, but his smile soon turned to tears when the Supreme Court affirmed Governor Ademola Adeleke’s victory. It was an all-round loss for Gboyega Oyetola. Therefore, it is not surprising that he is still behind this crisis in Osun State. He is like a wounded lion who doesn’t care about the stability of Osun State as long as his aim is achieved, no matter the consequences. Sadly, this action, which has been met with resistance, because a local government election will be held today following a court order issued yesterday, will not only affect Oyetola’s ambition in 2026, but also President Tinubu’s second-term ambition in 2027. Oyetola has scored an own goal because when the LG election ends today and victory is recorded for the PDP candidates, the desperation of the former governor to return to power by any means necessary will become the talk of the town. When he contests in 2026, it will only take the grace of God for him not to be rejected by the people. Governor Adeleke has performed excellently well for his people. The people of Osun State are happy, they have everything they need when due, the welfare of the people is being taken care of adequately, no one is being owed by the government, and there are several projects that have been completed while others are still ongoing. Who would come against such a government and be accepted by the people? For someone like Governor Adeleke, who is doing absolutely well, Oyetola, Tinubu, and the likes can only try to be friends with him because the people are solely behind him. However, this approach of desperately trying to wrest power from him will only lead to hatred from the people. Therefore, if President Tinubu doesn’t call his nephew, Gboyega Oyetola, to order, it may even be difficult for the President to campaign in Osun for his second-term ambition. Just today, he gave scholarships to people, JAMB, and WAEC forms and I thank God and appreciate him for all he does for society and pray that God continues to bless him” The programme also witnessed the groundbreaking ceremony of a residential estate and mosque which was done by George Weah. Furthermore, as Primate Ayodele is known for always including philanthropy in any of his programmes, the commissioning went alongside different forms of empowerment for students, business owners, journalists, church members, and widows, to mention a few. About 25 secondary school students were given JAMB and WAEC forms, while some got scholarships for their University studies. The controversial Afriq Arbitrage System Limited (AAS) and its founder, Jesam Michael, are at the center of an escalating investigation as law enforcement agencies uncover troubling signs of financial fraud. The Special Investigation Unit (SIU), Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), and Force Intelligence Department (FID) have joined forces to probe mounting allegations against AAS, which is accused of defrauding thousands of investors. At the heart of the investigation is the alleged inability of investors to withdraw their funds—whether principal or promised 1.65% daily returns—for over 18 months. Early findings indicate that AAS’s claim of high-frequency trading is unsupported by any credible evidence. Instead, funds deposited by investors are quickly moved through multiple cryptocurrency wallets, making it nearly impossible to trace the final destination. The case took a dramatic turn when Jesam Michael accused a former associate, Abayomi Segun Oluwasesan, of stealing $87 million from AAS. According to Michael, he had delegated full system access to Oluwasesan while allegedly abroad for a liver transplant. However, investigators have found no medical records to substantiate his claims. This raises questions about the credibility of his narrative and the true reason for delegating control of his platform. Compounding the concerns, Afriq Arbitrage LLC, a U.S.-based affiliate of AAS, was dissolved on July 5, 2023, even as Jesam Michael continues to promote the company as a global operation. Additionally, in a prior agreement following Oluwasesan’s arrest, properties recovered from the suspect were inexplicably transferred into Michael’s personal name instead of the company’s, casting further doubt on his intentions. Perhaps the most disturbing revelations involve allegations of intimidation and threats. Multiple sources allege that Michael runs a “killer squad” tasked with silencing critics and whistleblowers. A notable target is Ms. Josephine Andrew, whom Michael accuses of leaking damning details about his operations, including his unverified medical claims, the alleged Ponzi nature of AAS, and inflated financial figures tied to Oluwasesan’s misconduct. Ms. Andrew now reportedly faces death threats. Despite repeated summonses from the SIU, FCID, and FID, Jesam Michael has refused to cooperate with the investigation. Instead, he has launched a campaign of accusations, claiming harassment by law enforcement agencies. One such allegation is that the SIU Commander demanded “20 or 30 plots of land,” a claim dismissed by the SIU as baseless blackmail designed to distract from the real issue: the plight of defrauded investors. The people rally around Emma and Fasasi who are the IPO have been pivotal in spearheading this investigation, despite facing alleged intimidation and internal resistance. Under her leadership, the SIU has remained committed to uncovering the truth and ensuring justice for victims. The media and the public must rally behind the police to ensure they are allowed to do their job without interference. The police are calling on all affected investors to come forward with their investment records, dashboard screenshots, and any other relevant documentation. Reports can be submitted confidentially at the SIU, Force Headquarters, Abuja. Authorities have assured victims of their safety and confidentiality throughout the investigation. The SIU, FCID, and FID have vowed to pursue all legal avenues, including declaring Jesam Michael wanted if he continues to evade summonses. His attempts to file court injunctions and launch counter-narratives will not deter law enforcement from seeking justice for victims. This unfolding case has exposed a web of alleged Ponzi activities, unsubstantiated medical claims, dissolved international entities, suspicious asset transfers, and chilling accounts of intimidation. Yet, the IPOs remain resolute in their mission to protect the interests of defrauded investors and bring all perpetrators to justice. The media will not relent in its efforts to uncover the truth. Journalists are committed to investigating this matter to its conclusion, ensuring transparency and accountability. Let it be clear: no one, including Jesam Michael, is “untouchable.” The public deserves the truth, and the victims of AAS deserve restitution. The integrity of law enforcement is on the line, and the Nigeria Police Force must ensure that the investigating team is empowered to carry out its duties without intimidation. Credible policing is the backbone of any just society, and this case is a test of whether justice will prevail for the countless individuals who placed their trust—and their life savings—in Afriq Arbitrage System Limited.

By Prince Adeyemi Shonibare Under a potential second Trump presidency, the relationship between the United States and Nigeria is likely to be shaped by Trump's key policy priorities, which focus on trade, immigration, security, and reduced foreign aid. The relationship could experience both opportunities and challenges, depending on how policies align with Nigeria’s interests. Predicted Positive Aspects 1. Economic and Trade Opportunities Stronger Bilateral Trade Deals: Trump’s preference for bilateral agreements over multilateral ones could lead to Nigeria negotiating better trade deals directly with the U.S., potentially boosting exports like oil, agricultural products,Security and textiles. Oil and Gas Sector Collaboration: Given Trump’s support for fossil fuels and Nigeria’s status as a major oil producer, there could be increased investment and technical collaboration in Nigeria’s energy sector. Encouragement of Private Sector Investments: Trump's pro-business stance could encourage American companies to expand operations in Nigeria, particularly in tech, agriculture, and infrastructure. African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA): The U.S. may seek opportunities to benefit from Nigeria's position within the AfCFTA, potentially leading to increased American business interests in the region. 2. Security and Counterterrorism Cooperation Enhanced Military Support: Trump prioritizes counterterrorism efforts, which could lead to increased military aid and intelligence-sharing to combat Boko Haram and ISWAP insurgencies in Nigeria. Sale of Military Equipment: Nigeria may benefit from relaxed restrictions on the purchase of advanced U.S. military hardware, continuing previous deals on fighter jets and military training programs. Stronger Diplomatic Engagement on Security: Trump's administration may prioritize security collaboration over human rights concerns, focusing more on combating terrorism rather than pressuring Nigeria on governance issues. 3. Reduced Pressure on Human Rights and Governance Issues Unlike previous administrations, Trump's foreign policy tends to focus more on national interests than human rights and democratic reforms. Nigeria might face less pressure on issues like corruption, press freedom, and governance reforms. This could allow Nigerian leaders greater flexibility in managing domestic affairs. Predicted Challenges and Concerns 1. Stricter Immigration Policies Visa Restrictions and Travel Bans: Nigeria was previously included in the 2020 Trump-era travel ban, and a second Trump term may see stricter immigration policies affecting Nigerian students, tourists, and business travelers to the U.S. Harsher Visa Conditions for Nigerians: Work visas and student visas may become more difficult to obtain, impacting the large Nigerian diaspora and professionals seeking opportunities in the U.S. Crackdown on Illegal Immigration: The Trump administration could increase deportations of undocumented Nigerians living in the U.S., which could create diplomatic tensions. 2. Reduced Foreign Aid and Development Assistance Trump's "America First" policy often results in cuts to foreign aid. Nigeria could see reductions in funding for programs related to: Healthcare (HIV/AIDS, malaria, maternal health) Education and youth empowerment programs Climate change and environmental initiatives Programs supported by USAID and international development bodies could face budget cuts, impacting Nigeria’s social development efforts. 3. Trade Protectionism and Economic Competition Tariffs on Nigerian Exports: Trump's protectionist trade policies could impose tariffs or stricter conditions on Nigerian goods, making it harder for Nigerian businesses to compete in the U.S. market. Energy Market Competition: With Trump's focus on boosting U.S. energy production, Nigeria’s oil exports to the U.S. may face stiffer competition from domestic shale production. Loss of AGOA (African Growth and Opportunity Act) Benefits: If Trump pushes to renegotiate trade agreements, Nigeria’s eligibility for tariff-free access to U.S. markets under AGOA could be affected. 4. Diplomatic Tensions Over LGBTQ+ and Religious Freedom Policies Nigeria’s conservative stance on LGBTQ+ rights might align with Trump’s domestic policies, reducing pressure on the Nigerian government to adopt progressive policies. However, this could further isolate Nigeria from other Western nations advocating for human rights. Religious freedom policies promoted by the U.S. might put Nigeria under scrutiny regarding conflicts between Christian and Muslim communities, potentially leading to diplomatic challenges. 5. Potential Strategic Neglect of Africa Trump's foreign policy has historically placed little emphasis on Africa, focusing instead on China, Russia, and the Middle East. Nigeria may struggle to gain significant diplomatic attention under a second Trump administration, leading to limited U.S. involvement in regional development and geopolitical challenges. China could take advantage of reduced U.S. engagement by strengthening its influence in Nigeria through loans and infrastructure projects. Summary: What Nigeria Should Expect Under Trump Nigeria’s Possible Strategies Moving Forward To navigate a Trump presidency effectively, Nigeria could: 1. Diversify Diplomatic Alliances: Strengthen ties with other global powers like the EU, China, and Russia to offset any potential neglect from the U.S. 2. Negotiate Bilateral Trade Deals: Seek favorable trade terms with the U.S. on specific industries such as agriculture, oil, and technology. 3. Strengthen Domestic Policies: Reduce reliance on U.S. aid by boosting internal economic development and governance reforms. 4. Enhance Diplomatic Engagement: Proactively engage with U.S. policymakers and lobby groups to advocate for favorable policies toward Nigeria. Overall, the U.S.-Nigeria relationship under Trump 2.0 would likely be characterized by pragmatic engagement, focusing on security and economic cooperation, but with potential friction in areas such as immigration and development aid.

Re: Tinubu's impossible 2027 coalition? Smiles. President Tinubu is well-positioned to secure victory in the 2027 elections. His achievements, leadership experience, and the significant strides made across key sectors of governance solidify his place as the frontrunner. Key Achievements and Factors for Victory 1. Direct Funding to Local Governments: For the first time in Nigeria’s history, the 774 local government chairmen will receive funds directly from the federal government starting this month. This bold move decentralizes resources, empowers grassroots development, and strengthens loyalty to the man who initiated this transformative policy—President Tinubu. 2. Empowering Citizens: President Tinubu’s administration has rolled out impactful programs, including student loans, consumer credit initiatives, and direct cash transfers. These initiatives have touched millions of lives and earned him unwavering support from beneficiaries who recognise the positive impact of these policies. 3. Political Dominance: APC remains the most dominant political party in Nigeria, controlling more states than any opposition party. APC governors will rally behind Tinubu in 2027, leveraging the party’s expansive structure to consolidate support. 4. Regional Strength: South West: President Tinubu will sweep all six South West states. APC currently controls four states, and Tinubu’s win in Oyo during the 2023 elections further demonstrates his stronghold. By 2027, even Osun, which narrowly escaped APC control, will fall back in line. South-South: Tinubu will likely secure Cross River, Rivers, Edo, and Delta while achieving the required 25% in other states. APC’s current control of Edo and Cross River further reinforces this projection. South East: The establishment of the South East Development Commission has endeared Tinubu to the region. He is expected to win Enugu, Imo, and Ebonyi while securing 25% in Anambra and Abia. APC governs Imo and Ebonyi, and with strategic campaigning, Anambra might surprise everyone in 2027. North West & North East: These regions remain APC’s strongholds, and Tinubu’s track record ensures that they will deliver the necessary states. North Central: States like Abuja, Kogi, Nasarawa, and Plateau are expected to align with Tinubu, given his strong rapport and ongoing development efforts in the region. 5. Resilience and Leadership Experience: Tinubu’s journey from private sector success to public service is unparalleled. He served as a lawmaker, a transformative governor, and now a results-driven president. His international experience in oil, gas, and finance, coupled with his fearless leadership style, makes him a standout leader. Tinubu is the only president in Nigeria’s history to take bold steps like subsidy removal and exchange rate unification, laying the foundation for long-term prosperity. 6. Economic Reforms and Policies: Tinubu’s tax reforms exempt minimum wage earners and small businesses (earning less than ₦25 million annually) from federal taxes. By 2027, Nigeria will become a major exporter of refined petroleum products, with all four refineries operational. The federal government’s agriculture policies, in collaboration with states, will yield significant results. Security will improve, potentially with the full implementation of state policing. Electricity management, now involving states, will lead to a more reliable power supply. Mass transportation systems, including local, state, and federal rail services, will transform mobility. With growing FDI, increased earnings from oil and gas, and direct investments, Nigeria will witness unprecedented progress under Tinubu’s leadership. 7. Broad-Based Support: Tinubu’s influence transcends party lines, garnering support from private enterprises, public institutions, and even opposition leaders. Some PDP governors from the East may align with Tinubu’s vision in 2027, recognizing his ability to unify and deliver results. 8. Legacy of Leadership: Tinubu’s record of governance in Lagos—one of Africa’s largest economies—is unmatched. When he assumed office in 1999, Lagos generated ₦400 million monthly against expenses of over ₦600 million. By the end of his tenure, Lagos’ monthly IGR had risen to ₦8 billion. This same transformational leadership is now evident at the federal level, with Nigeria’s reserves growing and states receiving triple their previous allocations. Under Tinubu, local governments will receive significant funds. If each of the 774 local governments spends ₦2 billion monthly, the ripple effect will transform communities and improve lives nationwide. Without constitutional reforms, Tinubu is restructuring Nigeria by empowering states and local governments while maintaining harmony with governors, legislators, and the judiciary. 9. Strategic Reallocation of Subsidy Funds: Funds from subsidy removal on petrol and exchange rates are now being redistributed across federal, state, and local governments. The judicious use of these funds will catalyse development, creating visible progress that further cements Tinubu’s leadership legacy. A Leader for the Future By 2027, Tinubu’s achievements will speak louder than promises. Nigeria will see improved security, stable electricity, a revitalized economy, and a robust transportation system. His reforms will deliver real, measurable results, leaving opponents to merely speculate on what they could do better. If God grants him life and strength, and he chooses to contest in 2027, President Tinubu’s re-election will not just be a possibility—it will be a certainty. His vision, achievements, and widespread support make his victory inevitable. Smiles. By Prince Adeyemi Shonibare .

At a briefing held in Lagos, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Quilox Club, Akinlabi Peller said the club is committed to promoting the distribution of authentic drinks registered with NAFDAC. He stated that Quilox's authenticity is a top priority and that it has consistently sourced its drinks directly from manufacturers or approved suppliers over the past 11 years. Peller added that to ensure authenticity, unique serial numbers were placed on each bottle. He said “We have always upheld the distribution of genuine, NAFDAC-approved drinks in our establishment, and we are calling on other club owners to adopt similar practices. "By working together with NAFDAC, we can clamp down on the circulation of fake drinks and protect public health.” Peller also revealed that as part of Quilox's anniversary, there will be a 36-hour non-stop party beginning on December 22. TRIXX NG reports that over the weekend, Access Bank Plc was in the news for unpleasant reasons; The bank was accused of holding on to the sum of N500 Million which belongs to a deceased customer. This allegation was laid by popular social activist, verydarkman, who in a video that Access Bank allegedly denied a family member of the deceased the said amount of N500 Million. According to Verydarkman, the family member narrated that her deceased brother told her on his sick bed that he has some money deposited at different banks including Keystone bank, GTBank and Access Bank. Following his death, the sister proceeded to obtain a letter of administration to enable her access the funds in these banks but surprisingly, only Keystone and GTB confirmed the amount he mentioned before he died, Access Bank initially claimed there was nothing in the account. However, due to the scene created, the sister explained that they later agreed that there was money in the account but it was N1.2 Million. Meanwhile, the sister alleged that there was discrepancies in the account statement as the dates appeared like some records were deleted. In one of the pages, some months skipped and there was no record from 2016 to 2020 too. These sent a wrong signal to the sister of the deceased and she felt something fishy was going on, leading to her public presentation of the matter. Following the development, Access Bank responded on Sunday and refuted claims that there was a record of N500 Million in the deceased account. While the response was swift, many Nigerians claim that the response didn’t address the major issues. Read the response below: ‘’In the instant case, the allegations of missing funds in the Bank are most untrue and baseless. There is no N500million or any other fund or amount missing from the subject customer’s account or from any other customer’s account with us. We and other independent stakeholders in the banking industry have thoroughly investigated these allegations and independently arrived at the same conclusions. ‘’Access Bank PLC operates with the highest ethical standards, and we protect our customers' interests whilst also respecting privacy laws.’’ In their reactions, Nigerians noted that Access Bank didn’t speak about the allegation of an initial claim of nothing being in the account and later revealed that N1.2 Million was there, the discrepancies in the statement of account, what could have gone wrong since other banks confirmed there was money in the accounts of the deceased, among others. Many are of the opinion that the response should feature convincing evidences to accompany the bank’s claim and some of these issues shouldn’t have been shoved aside to say what the deceased sister had already said. Recommendations TRIXX NG recommends that Access Bank should conduct more investigation and come up with a truthful and convincing report. The bank has been known for integrity and maintaining the standard would be the best thing to do at this point in time. The claims of the victim should be addressed one after the other in the investigation as this is a matter that has gathered public interest and whatever comes out of this would determine the future of Access Bank Plc. https://trixxng.com/missing-n500-million-allegation-access-bank-responds-fails-to-address-major-issues/

Illegal oil bunkers and criminals are those calling for the removal of the chief of Naval Staff -IMAN DGIt is indeed very crucial to note that of all the Government Security Agencies (GSAs) the Nigerian Navy is statutorily vested with the responsibility of enforcing government policies in the maritime domain. In furtherance of this task, the Navy is saddled with the responsibilty of checkmating against the introduction of off-spec products into the Nigerian oil and gas value chain. This service is achieved by liaising with regulatory agencies such as NNPCL, NUPRC , NMDPRA, NIMASA and other stakeholders to ensure that valid documents are presented for verification by the Directorate of Marine Services under the Training and Operations Branch of the Nigerian Navy. Also, the NN ensures strict monitoring of petroleum products movement within Nigeria's maritime environment. In this regard, relevant documents from midstream and downstream including import, Form M, Haulage & marine transportation permits, offtake permits from those agencies including certification of vessel registry from NIMASA amongst others are usually submitted to the Marine before approval can be granted . . Once these papers are validated, a clearance is granted by Naval Headquarters via signal for the Company's vessel to proceed with its operations. The Headquarters Task Force South South Operation DELTA SAFE (HQ OPDS) and all Nigerian Navy Operational Commands as well as Bases within the vessel's Area of Operation are therefore aware of the operation for seamless operations. Notably, laboratory test of the product is usually carried out prior to discharge into vessels at jetties if the product is not AGO or PMS. This is because such products like Low Pour Fuel Oil (LPFO) and High Pour Fuel Oil (HPFO ) have similarities with crude oil hence this test. Besides, prior to issuance of any approval, the source of product is usually verified to avoid sourcing illegally refined products. With all of these stringent measures put in place by the NN, it can not then be said that the Nigerian Navy is against anti - crude oil fight. Apart from ensuring that due process is followed in the supply chain of petroleum products, movements in Nigeria Maritime Environment, the NN always interfaces with relevant regulatory Agencies to confirm permits granted by the regulatory agencies. One wonders why the Nigerian Navy could be accused of sabotaging the Federal Government's efforts towards improving crude oil output with the current efforts of the JTF SS OPDS which is being headed by a Naval Rear Admiral. It is on record this Taskforce has been performing credibly well. Since the inception of the Taskforce never has the outfit performed the way it is doing now. Such organizations like NNPCL, SPDC, Chevron, SEEPCO, etc can attest to this fact. Invariably, the Nigerian Navy is not in any way involved in commercial transactions with oil marketers; how much more blocking or aiding oil theft. Presently, there is an ongoing massive destruction of several illegal refinery camps by the OPDS - all these are geared towards curbing crude oil theft and related crimes. On the incident at Bonny Channel regarding MT LADY MARTINA, information has it that the vessel was duly authorized to engage in that operation. It was gathered that MT LADY MARTINA was ladden with HPFO and not crude oil as alleged by TANTITA and was with relevant valid documents issued by approved Federal Government Agencies such as NNPCL, amongst others as well Naval Headquarters Approval. More so, it was revealed that the product was sourced from Aradel Refinery at Ahoada in Rivers State and was conveyed to FOT Onne using trucks for the the product to be discharged into MT LADY MARTINA. This becomes necessary as Aradel Refinery does not has water front and thus no jetty where vessels can berth to load its products hence the use of trucks to convey their products to FOT Onne (Relevant documents to attached) Pertinently, the Nigerian Navy has not aided any illegality and thus the call from some quarters for the removal of the indefatigable CNS is mischievous and the handiwork of evil minded blackmailers whose business of crude oil theft/illegal bunkering activities have been stagnated. Invariably, such individuals & their cohorts are being driven by their criminal desires bouyed by pecuniary interests and as such they never meant well for our dear Nation. It is against this backdrop that His Excellency President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, GCFR - the C- In - C of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in his usual characteristic as our amiable Father is requested to graciously consider commending the efforts of the CNS in the war against oil theft.

TRIXX NG reports that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has fined Access Bank Plc for ‘wrong warehousing of funds from a government agency’. This was revealed in the organization’s Q3 2024 result released earlier this month. Although, the report didn’t explicitly reveal the agency involved and the policy of the CBN that was contravened, the hefty fine was obviously a result of the organization’s failure to conform with CBN’s policy regarding warehousing of funds. The fine is a direct consequence of the bank's failure to adhere to the regulatory requirements for handling public sector funds, as stipulated by the CBN and other financial authorities. While the N300 million fine is a substantial financial penalty, the larger impact may be on Access Bank’s reputation. The bank has a long history of strong regulatory compliance and industry leadership, and this incident could prompt a reassessment of its internal control frameworks to ensure they meet the highest standards. Access Bank’s customers, however, will likely be looking to see how the bank handles this issue moving forward. With the financial sector increasingly scrutinized for its role in national governance, the bank will need to rebuild public trust and demonstrate its commitment to ethical financial practices. Furthermore, all efforts to reach the bank’s communication team proved aborting at the time of filing this report as they failed to respond to emails. https://trixxng.com/exclusive-cbn-fines-access-bank-n300-million-over-improper-warehousing-of-govt-funds/

Investigation: How Unhygienic State Of Oko Oba Abbatoir Poses Health Hazards To Lagosians Time was when the Oko Oba Abbatoir was the cynosure of all eyes. The professionalism and neatness depicted by the Butchers and the distribution Unit of the Abbatoir was applauded by all. Conveying the neatly packed Meats in an enclosed Van called 'Eko Meat Van' to various locations saw the Lagos State Government receiving accolades from opposition Parties, Lagosians alike for the initiative. Years down the line, the once celebrated initiative has become a shadow of itself. For a first timer visiting the Oko Oba Abbatoir, what greets the person is an offensive odour oozing from the Canals that passes behind the Abbatoir. The stench is very strong. It fouls the air. It often even triggers breathing discomforts in people not used to such a sudden and unpleasant odour. The drainage at the entrance of the facility is filthy. It is a major source of the pungent stench disturbing passersby and visitors to the abattoir. This however poses health threats to Lagosians who inhale this offensive odour. Aside the Canals, the environment of the Abbatoir is in a pathetic state, as dirt litters the environment with bloods of the butchered Cows stagnated at some potholes in the Abbatoir. This is however unhygienic to the health of Lagosians who consume the Meats. The safety of meat processed at Oko-Oba Abattoir, Agege, Lagos, has become a source of concern to beef consumers in the state owing to the unhygienic practices and poor sanitation that characterise meat processing at the facility. Aside from the dirty drainage, the slaughter slabs where animals are slaughtered are not only dirty but also reek of the foul smell of cow dung as well as that of decomposing animal waste and blood. The once upgraded processing equipment and units of the Abbatoir have become a shadow of itself. Experts say poor handling of meat in abattoirs could lead to physical contamination, stressing that a situation where all manner of people accesses the slaughterhouse without check is inappropriate for a place where meat is processed for human consumption. Investigation reveals that the handlers of the Abattoir are the one causing major problems by not allowing external body or professionals to handle the situation because of their selfish interest. Moreso, it was also gathered that past administration has also put measures to salvage the situation but all to know avail as the activities of the centre is allegedly run by one family. The said family is been alleged to be sabotaging the efforts of the Lagos State Government in changing the narratives in this regard, by monopolizing the administration of Abbatoir. Sources who are in the know of the politicking happening at the Abbatoir that has made it leveraging on its past glory, say that if other Companies are saddled with the responsibilities of maintaining the Abbatoir, there will be drastic changes in the affairs of the Abbatoir, that will be a far cry from its present state. It was also gathered that the Sub Concessionaire approved by the Ministry who has certain projects at the Abbatoir is allegedly been frustrated by the Main Concessionaire in connivance with the Commissioner. This has further added to the pathetic situation of the Abbatoir. Investigation also revealed that there are Shanties at the Abbatoir where some people allegedly live and pay rent to certain individuals at the Abbatoir. This poses Security threat to the Abbatoir and residents around the Abbatoir, at a time when the economic fortunes of the nation has dwindled. Sources revealed that the Abbatoir is porous, which exposes the State to impending danger that needs to be urgently addressed before it escalates. No doubt, the present state of the Abbatoir is a far cry from what the Abbatoir was known for years back, leading to the call on the Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-olu led administration, the Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Health and the Ministry Of Agriculture to wade into this issue and earnestly address the worrisome and abysmal state of the Oko Oba Abbatoir, no matter who ox is gored.

At the festival’s Animation Awards which later on the same day, the DG explained the vision and objectives behind the new Federal Government Policy of Nationalisation of Cartoon Content, to stem the current trend which shows that we are breeding new generations of ‘foreigners’, due to the overwhelming influence of foreign cartoons on our children and the disconnection with our core values as a people. For According to him, animation has become a significant tool for government communication especially as it targets the more than 75 percent youth population of our country. He explained that Nigerian animators could also use this opportunity to tap into the huge budgetary allocation for communication by government at various levels across the various MDAs, noting that the Agency is ready to work with animators. The founder and festival director of LIFANIMA, Mr. Muyiwa Kayode in his opening remarks explained that the festival began in 2016 after the launch of his animation brand “Turtle Taido” in 2015 which made it the first animated cartoon series for children on Nigerian television. Mr Tolulope Adepena, a design and building construction expert, is also the CEO of Pennak Nigeria Limited, a leading provider of innovative infrastructure projects and services. He is into design and building of various commercial buildings, residential buildings, hospitals and malls In this interview, Adepena identified the need for sustainability in tackling Nigeria's housing crisis. He also spoke on frequent building collapse, sustainable solutions to tackle Nigeria's worsening housing deficit, among other issues. Excerpts. What inspired your focus of going into building construction? What inspired me was the fact that we have a lot of engineers and developers who overcharge and under deliver, so I'm trying to bridge the gap whereby we can deliver something worth the budget to a client within the construction industry in Nigeria. We've had serious cases of building collapse in this country, and a lot of people would say that most of the building experts cut corners and keep building materials. Do you agree with that? I don't think any building material is that cheap. I just feel like they don't follow building regulations, and that's a problem. Most of the materials supplied in the country are well tested, so I think that by not following the regulations, they're adding more flaws to projects. So we must avoid such kinds of problems. Also, we have some old buildings, many buildings in this country that are supposed to be demolished. How many years do you think a house should be on top of the soil? It depends on the substructure. Some are built to last for a while, and some are to last for about 25 to 30 years. It depends on the engineer and what they used for the substructure. Can you tell us the major landmark project that your company has done? As a professional, I've been in this business for 10 years. For my company, Pennak Nigeria Limited, we've been here for seven years. We have done series of landmark projects. We have the interior design part of our company that does designs for fashion stores, we have our construction projects that are done on Lekki-Epe expressway at the moment. We have some landmark projects in Abuja, we've worked with GTBank, we've worked with Alat by Wema Bank, and a lot of them. Can you tell me more about the landmark projects? As a design company, we do some interior design projects, we partner some other parent companies, we come in as project managers for them, So they contract the project to us. We have a series of projects including hospitals and police stations that we've carried out. Can you tell me about your experts who help to set the design of the house and implement it? For execution of projects, we have the main man on site—the project manager, we have subcontractors who handle the mechanical, electrical and plumbing part of each project, we have our interior designers, who position the project from the scratch, paying attention to every detail, we also have the site managers, people that manage; we also have our safety regulatory compliance, and we also have our security in place to make sure that everything is going on well. What are the major mandates you give to clients who intend to carry out building projects? We've worked in about eight states in Nigeria. Let's talk about working in Lagos. So, you just need to have your land, and your documents in place. What are your deliverables for your clients, and what are their expectations? They try to expect functionality in projects. We're accountable to that aspect, making sure that each segment of the project functions properly, following the expectations of what you have proposed to them in the first place. Our interior designers make sure that the functionality goes in line with the beauty of the place. When you take in a project, what is your approach towards ensuring customer satisfaction? At Pennak, we call it 4E’s —Expectation, Education, Elementary design, and Execution. We understand the client's expectations based on the purpose of their structure. We educate the clients on the realities of what they can achieve. We develop the elementary design which gives you a thorough walkthrough. We call it elementary design because it is subject to change during the final stage What do you consider before going into commercial mall construction? Commercial mall construction is a different type of complex design that you have to consider a lot of things. We work closely with our teams to avoid a lot of mistakes that some companies make in the course of constructing a mall. We've seen a lot of abnormalities with a lot of building construction experts. Some are saying that there are lots of people who are not professional, and into building construction, and that is why we have a lot of building collapse records in Nigeria. How do you advise a client who wants to carry out a building project? They need to do their background check. The client will need to know the right company to work with, depending on their capacity, and what to work with. This is very important because some companies do not have the right team to execute the project for you. It is also vital to procure most of the materials that will be needed for the project before commencing the project. How do you cope with the high cost of materials? The high cost of materials affects construction projects. Sometimes, we buy most of our materials down before commencing projects because there are very important items. So, when our clients are in need, we resell for the old price, not the current price. What are the amenities that you prioritise in your housing development? Good road for accessibility is very important. Power and water are also vital. They are the most important amenities, as they engineer the whole house, and make it very functional, especially if it's a commercial project. What are the key things that attract your customer to you? I will mention our detailing, good communication skills with our clients, and also the delivery. We work with elementary designs where we give our clients proper walk through of what their expectations should be. Do you see commercial malls playing a major role in community development? Yes. A commercial mall makes a community more vibrant. There are many activities going on there, people want to see various things. So, I believe it is part of development. What do you see as the biggest challenge facing the real estate industry in Nigeria today? Inflation is the major challenge. The inflation had caused some level of delays in projects. There's no stable price, and it is really hindering development as well. How do you cope with the inflationary pressure? We have our teams, accountants, and proe that can foresee. We have our storage where our clients can buy items at affordable prices which helps to facilitate the execution of projects. Do you handle projects that have to do with international standards such as smart housing? Yes, we do. We are trying to attain a goal using the international standard. We handle smart housing for most of our residential buildings to ease power challenges, and make life easier for our clients. What is your advice to the government on how to improve the housing deficit issue in Nigeria, and the real estate sector? I would like to advise the government by saying that they can partner with construction companies like ours to give advice, sustainability, and a better approach to building houses in Nigeria, seeing that we have a beautiful vision for the future of the country. What other things do you bring to play when you're doing your building projects? We use up-to-date material, we have the ability to bring something out of nothing, I believe that is why most of our clients love to work with us. Apart from your work as a construction engineer, how do you spend your leisure time? Do you have time for your family at home? Yes, I do. God first, the family. So, I have to be healthy, and also create time for watching football, that is my hobby. I read also, I study a lot of things, I like to know how things are possible, and how to achieve things. How do you adhere to fire and safety regulations when you are doing your building construction? We provide fire alarms, and also follow the safety and regulatory system of the building, to make sure everything is safe. Do you compare your projects to the smart house technology, or according to the taste of the clients? Most of the time, we advise our clients to do it, but most of our residential building projects are smart homes. As a role model to lots of people, what advice will you give to youths on how to improve and impact on their lifestyle? I will advise the youths to find a passion or a direction and keep working on it. It might not be a passion to you, but if it's what you can do very well, keep working on it, and with time, you will reap the fruit of your labor. What are your future plans? My future plans are quite broad. We would like to expand and spread our reach to other African countries. We are trying to build something different in another dimension. When you're painting a house, what comes into your mind? What comes into my mind is the quality of the wall; let people see the wall, and smile. Can you compare the wall designs we have in Nigeria to the ones we have in Great Britain, and America? Yes, and we have good engineers that can do that.We are doing very solid ones in Nigeria with integrity. Do you believe that we can do better furniture than we import from other countries? Yes. I have seen better designs. We just need people with the right skills with great supervisors to work on it. We are even doing it already. That's the magic to it. How much do you think is required to build a standard bungalow of two bedrooms, two sitting rooms, and a bit of spacious garden in Nigeria today? Considering the state of the economy, let's say about thirty-something million naira, exclusive of land, to get that done right. How do you convince me to patronize you? Your building is your investment. Working with us is a way of giving a proper return on investment. You will make good returns because of the functionality. We have done a lot of projects that you can also see through. That's for the commercial projects. For the residential project, what I promise you is comfortability. You will always look around your house and smile. What can the government do to support people in that sector of the economy? I will say they should stabilize the economy, because doing so makes it sustainable for all of us. Tell me about the mission and vision of Pennak The mission is to remain a company of integrity, a company that the client can always trust as they have been trusting us for the past years, and also keeping on the sustainability, and up to the world standard. Talking about our vision, at Pennak, we consider innovation greatly, and also a relief factor to culture, and gender inequality. We don't care about gender or skin colour, we're interested in the skills. How would you say Pennak has affected lives in their seven years of operation? At Pennak, we prioritize people, and we do not take lightly the impact we have in all the lives we touch. We make sure that our client needs are satisfied, even before the clients know they have them, with our fully immersive, and ergonomically positive designs. At the end of every project, we make sure we impact the host community of the project with our Community Social Responsibility (CSR) programs. We did a commercial project at Akoka in Yaba, and also one at Owerri in Imo state. Where did you study, and what did you study? Growing up mostly in the western part of Nigeria. I had my primary school education in Ogun State and secondary education at Mercy College in Ogun State. I studied electrical engineering at the Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), and proceeded after a while to acquire my MBA from London Metropolitan School of business.

The family of late Idowu Keshinro, a former staff member of the Agbowa Council Development Area (LCDA) in Ota Ikosi Ejinrin, has made an urgent appeal to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu following fears that justice may not be served. Although, suspects including popular land grabber, Abubakar Suleiman Miyaki, Mukaila Salau, Tiyamiyu Ahmed, Waltu Suleimon, Ibrahim Ekemode, and others have been arrested and arraigned before Ogba Magistrate court, the family of the deceased have claimed that there are ‘secret’ moves to free them unconditionally even though there is evidence that confirms the direct involvement of the suspects in the murder of Idowu Keshinro. In a petition written to Governor Babajide Sanwoolu, the deceased’s elder brother, Akeem Keshinro explained that other suspects that are at large have been making boast of having connections with Lagos attorney general whom they claim will assist in releasing the arrested suspects unconditionally at the next court sitting slated for November 26. ‘’It is our further brief that; other persons who are still at large with their syndicate are now intensifying efforts to ensure that they and the aforementioned persons escape justice by way of perversion of the cause of justice in respect of the subject matter.’’ ‘’Furthermore, we have the brief of our client that the said persons and one KABIRU ABUBAKAR SULAIMON who is a brother to one of the defendants in the said charge continue to boast that the defendants would be released unconditionally as they claim to have connection to few politicians who would lead them to the office of the Attorney General and or have enough money to access same so as to ensure the Attorney General exercises his prerogative powers under the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to release the Defendants in the above charge unconditionally’’ ‘’We believe that the office of the Attorney General is dignifiedly sacred and clothed with Honour and same deserves utmost respect or regard from all and sundry as the case maybe. The noise cum brag of the aforementioned persons to pervert cause of justice at all cost in the above mentioned charge has now become deafening in the circumstance of our client thereof Our client and members of his family are hapless and continue to live in perpetual despair and would suffer untoward agony in the event the above mentioned persons make do of their boast and intention to escape justice in respect of the said charge’’, the petition reads in part. Furthermore, while speaking with journalists, Akeem Keshinro revealed that he can no longer sleep in his home again due to the different threats he has received for seeking justice over his brother’s death. He stated that he only stays in his house during the day but flees his home at night. Also, Aslam Ibrahim, the youth leader in the community narrated that they were celebrating Easter at the palace when the incident happened. He made it known that they are after his life and can’t conduct his daily business freely over his involvement in seeking justice. ‘’We were celebrating Easter when the incident happened. We suddenly saw people with guns and we all ran from the palace. On the fateful day, Idowu passed by us on his way to the farm before we heard he was killed. They have been calling their family members and they have gone to the attorney general’s office to release them. I can’t work freely in the community because cultists have been all over me, I am begging the government to please help us.’’ Likewise, another victim of the suspects’ gruesome acts, Saula Lateef, an elderly man, narrated how he was beaten to a pulp by the miscreants who were confirmed to be Miyaki’s boys/ ‘’I went to my site on Easter Day before deciding to go to the palace. On my way to the palace, I saw everywhere scattered and unfortunately for me, I walked into the midst of Miyaki’s boys who came to cause mayhem. I was held and beaten so much that till now, I am still unable to walk. It was a MOPO who was among them that asked them to leave me. It was few hours later that I was told that they killed Idowu Keshinro who was well known to us. Among those I saw was Mukaila, Hakeem Lawal, Jamiu Adeleja, Ahmed Tiamiyi, Ibrahim Ekemode, Walia Ojoge, Fowomeye, and others that are agents of Miyaki. We want to appeal to Governor Sanwoolu to ensure that justice is served because we are not safe here. They still have boys around and they are only waiting for those in prison to be released before they strike again.’’

Update on Amen Estate Ownership: More of Babatunde Gbadamosi’s Lies Exposed…all the dirty details Claims made by Lagos politician, Babatunde Gbadamosi over ownership of Amen Estate and it's holding company has been debunked by inside sources. An insider disclosed: "Mr. Babatunde Gbadamosi is a vocal but a deceptive social media activist and politician whose writings and posts often attack the establishment. It is rather contemptuous that a person who consistently calls for justice for his political party is full of lies and fakery. "Mr. Gbadamosi’s inability to let go of Redbrick Homes demonstrates how unhinged he has become." "While Redbrick Homes' lawyers have issued a press release disclaiming Mr. Gbadamosi and his claim of ownership over Amen Estate, Phases 1 and 2, and Ashlead Homes, it is crucial to inform the public that Gbadamosi has resigned as a director and left the company, since July 2021, said the source" "As stated by Redbrick Homes in 2022, Gbadamosi was never an active director. He was a passive participant who left the company of his own free will. "At the time, Gbadamosi was married to Sade Balogun, the true owner of Redbrick Homes and Amen Estate. He made his choices and followed them. According to the insider, "when Gbadamosi left, he signed a document in which some of his demands for spousal settlement were met. He asked for four cars and some money in dollars. He was paid the 1st instalment and given some acres of land in Epe. However, after receiving the initial deposit, Gbadamosi almost immediately greedily breached the terms of the agreement." "Perhaps Gbadamosi, who fancies himself an important politician, has forgotten that there are documents bearing his signature and evidence of his settlement." She noted. According to our source: "Ms. Balogun, then, Mrs Gbadamosi may be the only woman in Nigeria who has paid such a large spousal settlement just to protect her children, company, and clients from potential embarrassment, knowing what a character like Mr. Gbadamosi is capable of." "It might surprise you to know that Gbadamosi even discredited the companies on their own websites. How can someone discredit something he claims to own? It got to the point where he responded to his daughter's comment on Amen Estate's Google page with a scathing tone, saying nasty things about the estate he now claims as his. What kind of father does that, and how more devious and delusional can a person get?" The public must be reminded that Redbrick Homes International Limited, Amen City Ltd, and Ashlead Estates belong to Ms. Folasade Balogun. Anyone can verify this at the Corporate Affairs Commission. "Gbadamosi is a low-life impostor whose mischief and determination to bring down Redbrick Homes have become his life’s mission. However, he will not succeed because Redbrick Homes International Limited, Amen City Ltd, and Ashlead Estates are thriving and remain one of the leading and most credible property developers in Nigeria," the insider source said. Another company source questioned why Babatunde Gbadamosi "seems to have a dead conscience: This is a man who left his marriage only to impregnate and marry another woman. Did he really think he could destroy his marriage and also take possession of his wife’s properties? May God forgive him," she said. The source revealed that: "Gbadamosi was married to the said woman while still married to Sade. He cannot deny this because the marriage certificate is there for all to see. Infact, even me, I've seen the document. That man is very dubious , you know. He has the audacity to still be claiming Sade's company assets as marital assets. Shouldn't he be asking his current wife for upkeep or has she dumped him after discovering what a liar he is?" the source smirked. Lawyers representing Redbrick Homes International Limited, Amen City Ltd, and Ashlead Estates, Babalakin & Co., have issued a press statement clarifying that Mr. Gbadamosi made false claims in every respect, as he had voluntarily relinquished his shareholding interests and resigned as a director in these companies since July 2021. Babalakin & Co., representing Redbrick and Ms. Folasade Balogun, have refuted Mr. Babatunde Gbadamosi’s social media claim that Amen Estate and Amen Estate Phase 2 on Eleko Beach Road, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State, belong to him. Their statement reads: "We are solicitors to Redbrick Homes International Limited (Redbrick), Amen City Ltd, Ashlead Estates Ltd (Ashlead), and Ms. Folasade Balogun (formerly Mrs. Folasade Gbadamosi). Our attention has been drawn to a social media post authored by Mr. Babatunde Gbadamosi. "In his post, Mr. Gbadamosi claims that Amen Estate and Amen Estate Phase 2 of Eleko Beach Road, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State, are assets of Redbrick and Ashlead. He further states that these companies belong to him and Ms. Balogun. This information is entirely false, and we advise the public to ignore it. "Mr. Babatunde Gbadamosi voluntarily relinquished his entire shareholding interest in Redbrick and Ashlead and resigned as a director of these companies as far back as July 2021 under a notarized legal instrument. He has no interest whatsoever in these companies or any of their assets, including Amen Estate, Amen Estate Phase 2, TIARA, Emerald Bay, Emerald Park, and Amen City. "His resignation and shareholding relinquishment have been duly filed with the Corporate Affairs Commission and are available for public verification. None of these assets are listed as 'marital assets' in the ongoing litigation between Mr. Babatunde Gbadamosi and Ms. Sade Balogun." It is also worth recalling that on February 26, 2022, Redbrick Homes management published a notice in Punch to clarify to all investors and potential investors that Mr. Babatunde Olalere Gbadamosi is no longer associated with Redbrick Homes International Ltd or its real estate projects. "For clarity, Mr. Gbadamosi, a full-time politician, was once a passive partner and shareholder, without any financial investment, and one of the directors of Redbrick Homes International Ltd. He has since voluntarily transferred all his shares and resigned from its board as of July 1, 2021. "The board composition, shareholding structure, and share capital of Redbrick Homes International Ltd have completely changed. Ms. Folasade Balogun remains the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, a position she has held since the company's inception. Under her leadership, Redbrick Homes International Ltd continues to deliver quality service to its customers without interruption. These facts can easily be verified at the Corporate Affairs Commission," the public notice concluded.
