Oil & Gas expert James Arukhe emphasizes that Nigeria needs collaboration between government and private entities, alongside strategic investments, to fulfil its domestic and international energy commitments.

With a rich background as a senior engineer and educator, Arukhe has shaped the production operations of the world's largest oilfields, including those of Saudi Aramco, Shell, Chevron, Exxon Mobil, and Petro-Canada.

Arukhe's portfolio of innovation, marked by over 40 U.S. patents, underscores his commitment to advancing the oil and gas sector through technology. Notably, his patented turbine-powered pump systems for enhancing oil recovery, U.S. Patent No. 11,391,132, exemplifies his approach to tackling operational efficiencies and maximizing output, which could be particularly transformative for Nigeria's oil production landscape.

Arukhe stresses that private investment is contingent on government commitment. "Industry practitioners believe President Bola Tinubu's oil & gas experience and as Minister of Petroleum, is a positive step for the sector," he adds.

A distinguished lecturer for SPE (2020-21), Arukhe emphasizes the need for technological advancements: "Investments in digital oilfield technologies, enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques, and real-time monitoring systems are essential to optimize production processes and minimize downtime."

While facing pressure from the West to shift away from fossil fuels, Nigeria plans to continue exploration. Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Heineken Lokpobiri, recently stated this intention at an energy summit in Abuja.

Arukhe said Nigeria could adopt Brazil's model of Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) and policy reforms that spurred investments in deep-water oil reserves to enhance its oil production capabilities. Key strategies include streamlining regulatory processes for exploration and production licenses, offering fiscal incentives to attract private investment, and facilitating technology and expertise sharing between private firms and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

These measures, inspired by Brazil's success with Petrobras and international oil companies, could significantly boost Nigeria's oil sector, he added.

On environmental concerns, he stated that investments should focus on cleaner technologies like carbon capture and renewable energy integration. Implementing effective oil spill management systems and aligning with international environmental standards will minimize
ecological impact.

‘’These measures will contribute to sustainable operations, balancing production efficiency with environmental protection, and align with global climate change initiatives’’, he asserted.

According to Primate Ayodele, the palliative market was a way to relieve Nigerians from the burden of economic hardship and to send a message to the federal government on the need to crash the prices of goods instead of other measures that are not benefiting the people directly. He advised that making food affordable for citizens will go a long way in reducing economic hardship.
He explained that the palliative method of approving a certain amount of naira to cushion the effects of economic hardship isn’t working because it is being embezzled by greedy politicians.

‘’The local, state and federal government should know that this is what we call palliatives. The palliatives they are doing at the government level isn’t done the right way because the citizens are not benefiting directly. The economic hardship will not reduce if the government doesn’t do palliatives the right way it should be done. TRIXX NG reports that digital bank merchant; Moniepoint MFB has sent one of its customers to a new year of worries with a nonchalant customer service attitude, leading to the loss of a whopping N9.6 Million belonging to the customer.

It was an unfortunate incident that was borne out of a technical copulation between Moniepoint MFB and men of the underworld; the banking merchant was reportedly unavailable when they were needed to prevent dare-devils from accessing the customer’s account, thereby, rendering assistance to the invaders technically.

According to an X (formerly twitter) user who spoke to the customer, Usman Bankkole Olajuwon, the sad event happened on 27th of December when his phone was stolen with the balance of N9.6 Million naira in his Moniepoint MFB account. Immediately, He sent mails to Moniepoint MFB to block his account but none was attended to.

While the customer was unable to get any response from Moniepoint MFB, men of the underworld were able to reset his password and withdraw his money gradually. He proceeded to the bank the following Monday but as we speak, nothing has been done to it.

Apart from the failure of the bank’s customer service, this confirms that Moniepoint MFB isn’t capable of securing customer’s funds.

How Land Speculators Are Setting Lagos Up For Climatic Crisis, Residents Risk Being Submerged

Disaster looms on the coastal belt of Lagos as Land Spectators swoop on the sprawling estates and luxurious neighbourhoods dotting the panoramic expanse of Ikoyi. Consequently, residents panic against the backdrop of the distortion of the city’s master plan by land speculators working in cahoots with estate developers. The latter flagrantly spurn the policies and programmes of the state government which are geared to address climate change, thus aggravating the flooding and possible submerging of the state’s upscale neighbourhood.

One businessman messes with Mother Nature, and an entire city suffers the brunt of his misjudgment. Yet most businessmen hustle to shield themselves from the effects of their error in judgment. While this may seem probable in ideation, it is impracticable.

Thus at the real estate mogul’s unsettling of mother nature, chaos ensues, and the truth dawns on society like blisters of eternal damnation; everyone gets to understand that there are neither rewards nor punishments for provoking mother nature, just consequences.

Consider the terrifying case of Ikoyi Crescent, in Lagos, for instance, since land speculators and developers swooped on its waterfronts, sand-filling the Lagos lagoon and encroachment on the beautiful waterfronts that adorn the upscale neighbourhood, the area has been exposed to protracted flooding and erasure of its once sightly esplanades.

Recently, the residents of the highbrow Ikoyi Crescent, in Lagos, were jolted to see their waterfront awash with sand courtesy of the operations of an upstream dredger, whose equipment bore the insignia of “Dredging Atlantic.” They watched in abject horror as the sand-filling operations of the land speculator brought down the upscale quality of the neighbourhood; they rued the probability of seeing the lagoon succumb to the unregulated and unauthorised real estate venture.

Mortified by the ensuing consequences in terms of a possible loss of the aesthetics the lagoon offers their properties and an outlet for floodwaters, the residents petitioned the Lagos State government.

In 2017, a group, the Coalition of Concerned Citizens of Lekki, Ikoyi and Victoria Island, expressed similar trepidation, with its representative Olusegun Ladega, an architect, exposing the distortion of the Lekki drainage regional master plan “caused by the indiscriminate sand-filling of natural waterways.” According to him, the sand-filling of Lagos lagoons and oceans is causing coastal erosion, forcing water back to land. The Ikoyi Crescent residents observed that the realtors and developers sand-filling the lagoon close to their neighbourhood had no proof of an environmental impact assessment report. Ladega believed the Lagos government could do more, stressing that the inability of the environment, waterfront and physical planning ministries to “work together” has resulted in infringement and breach of environmental laws by the ministries’ poor enforcement of environmental laws, building regulations and town planning guidelines.

Lagos ministries at the heart of the matter

The Ministry of Waterfront Infrastructure Development directly oversees the waterfront. The Ikoyi Crescent residents said they made their observations known to the ministry. Neither the waterfront ministry, the Ministry of the Environment, the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development could tell what is going on in the Ikoyi neighbourhood. The environment ministry told THISDAY it did not approve the sand-filling of the lagoon, citing that it is not under its purview. The physical planning ministry did not respond to THISDAY’s inquiry.

However, the waterfront ministry replied to the newspaper’s inquiry, albeit unofficially.“They did not obtain approval from the ministry. The ministry did not give them any approval. When the ministry received complaints about their activity, a ‘stop work order’ was issued to them,” said an official of the waterfront ministry who spoke under anonymity.

The official did not state if the Lagos government would penalise or prosecute the trespassers.In October, the Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure Development, Yacoob Ekundayo Alebiosu, issued a ‘stop-work order’ on illegally built structures at Oyinkan Abayomi, Ikoyi, in the Eti-Osa Local Government Area, pending a review of any prior regulatory licences that may have been granted.Alebiosu had issued the order while inspecting several development sites along the waterfront corridor across Lagos, noting that the development violated the state’s regulations.

“The state government’s attention has been directed to the large unlawful development projects that have destroyed the area’s desirable waterfront scenery, putting the entire environment at risk of erosion and degradation,” said the commissioner. In November, the Lagos government announced that following the non-compliance with the ‘stop-work order’ issued earlier to a developer of an ongoing multi-floor residential building on Oyinkan Abayomi Drive, Ikoyi, it had sealed the site of the project ordering workers to vacate the building immediately.

While the commissioner admitted that dredging could be done in Lagos, Alebiosu emphasised that it must be done with control and caution not to disturb the ecosystem and endanger the lives and property of the people. Lagos is the smallest state in Nigeria, yet it has the highest urban population, 27.4 per cent of the national estimate (UN-Habitat). Lagos’ dominant vegetation is the swamp forest of the fresh water and mangrove swamp forests, both of which are influenced by its double rainfall pattern, making the environment a wetland region. The Lagos drainage system is characterised by a maze of lagoons and waterways, constituting about 22 per cent or 787 sq. km. (75.755 hectares) of the state’s territory. In 2020, the Lagos government, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and C40 Cities, took bold steps to address the climate change scourge, which has become a defining environmental challenge to the state and several other parts of the world. But, the clandestine activities of realtors and developers seem to undo all the government’s positive steps.

What lies beneath

By 2030, an estimated 108 to 116 million people in Africa will live in low-elevation coastal zones—defined as areas 10 meters or less above sea level, a figure projected to double by 2060, according to the Africa Centre for Strategic Studies, noting that in the near term, North and West Africa will be most directly affected, comprising 85 per cent of the projected 100 million population affected on the continent, though every region is threatened. Egypt and Nigeria, with high-density metropolises near the coast, are anticipated to face the greatest population disruptions.

Home to at least 20 million people and expected to be the world’s largest city “by the end of the century, Lagos, a low-lying city on Nigeria’s Atlantic coast, also experiences the triple impact of perennial fluvial (river), pluvial (rainfall), and coastal flooding.”The centre explained that adding up the damages to assets, economic production, and mortality, the World Bank found the total cost of “just fluvial and pluvial flooding in Lagos is $4 billion annually,” pointing out that rising sea levels combined with high urbanisation will exacerbate future damage. It added that between 2020 and 2030, Africa’s seven largest coastal cities—Lagos, Luanda, Dar es Salaam, Alexandria, Abidjan, Cape Town, and Casablanca—are projected to grow by 40 per cent (48 million people to 69 million) compared with the continent’s overall anticipated increase of 27 per cent (1.34 billion to 1.69 billion).“Smaller coastal cities may expand even faster: Port Harcourt in Nigeria, for example, is expected to grow 53 per cent over this decade. Globally, Africa’s coastal regions are anticipated to experience the highest rates of population growth and urbanisation in the world,” said the centre.

Public-private collusion?

THISDAY contacted Dredging Atlantic, whose equipment was sighted working at the lagoon. There was a denial of involvement in the ruination of the lagoon beyond a commercial hire of their equipment by an unnamed realtor or developer.“That is false information (that Dredging Atlantic was the firm sand-filling the lagoon). I just made an enquiry, and it’s not Dredging Atlantic. They hired our equipment,” a representative of the company said. “But if you want to get clearer information, then go to the Lagos State Ministry of Waterfront Infrastructure Development. We don’t have any permit to work there. It’s not in our name.”

When the Dredging Atlantic official was told that the dredger on site belonged to Dredging Atlantic, his response was: “They hired our dredger.” However, “the company also undertakes various marine construction projects and geotechnical works; excavation offshore reclamation contracts; services for developing water installations for marine facilities and excavation contracts; drilling and deepening waterways, ports and marine installation,” according to information on its website.

A marine expert, Hakeem Ogunbambi, told THISDAY that it is unlikely private investors, realtors, and developers are carrying out the surreptitious sand-filling of the Ikoyi Crescent lagoon without the active collusion of Lagos government officials.“This reclamation is not being done by the private sector alone. They have their collaborators in the government. So, nobody can just take their dredger to the lagoon and begin to dredge or begin to do reclamation without the backing of some government officials.” Ogunbambi suggested that “those close” to Sanwo-Olu are not unlikely to be at the top of the food chain.

Nonetheless, the Lagos government is committed to the ideals of climate change. Last August, in a bid to combat and mitigate the effects of climate change in Lagos, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu restated his administration’s commitment to working closely with experts, organisations, and the global community to ensure that Lagos remains at the forefront of climate action in Nigeria, admitting that “while we have made significant progress, there is still much work to be done since the challenges faced demand continuous innovation, collaboration and adaptation.”

The clandestine sand-filling of the Ikoyi Crescent lagoon will require “much work” from the Lagos government to stop unauthorised developers and realtors from wreaking havoc on the Ikoyi axis and its waterfronts. Lagos Lagoon is receding, no thanks to so-called speculators and developers illegally assuaging the appetite for upscale real estate with little or no regard for watercourse, town planning codes and safety, according to several Ikoyi residents.

Apprehensive residents worry that the indiscriminate sand-filling of the lagoon will aggravate the already perennial flooding in Ikoyi. According to THISDAY checks, several dredging activities along the lagoon shoreline are usually carried out at night, surreptitiously encroaching the waterfronts of some Ikoyi residents.

Realtors and developers are forming landmass by illegally sand-filling the Lagos lagoon and selling the land to unsuspecting affluent and sometimes influential figures.

River State: the governor is a good man and where God is taking him is big. He should be careful of his advisers. He should continue to follow the path of peace with his former boss. Wike- The political destiny of Wike is very strong. I remember God said he is a factor in the scheme of things not because he is righteous or perfect but because of certain things attached to his destiny. He will face strong betrayals at the federal level and will face betrayals. Hard times are coming ahead of him. Will he survive it, yes he will.

Kogi- the newly elected governor will try to fulfill his electoral promises but there will be strong battles between him and his boss influenced by those who want him to fail earlier. No matter the prayers it will still surface. He will have trying times ahead.

Botswana- the current president will retain his seat in the 2024 election and will break more ground economically. He meant well for the country. He will see a lot of betrayals but it won't stop him. The rift in the opposition party will deepen because of selfish reasons and greed.

Namibia- I see the hand of God in that country. God will raise great prophets and will raise a lot of harvest economically. I don't know why I see a female at the helm of affairs after the current president. She will cause a great turn around.

South Africa - Like I said in the past Julius Malema will be a president or leader one day because it's in his destiny once he holds on to God and listens to constructive ideas and advice. In the forthcoming election the ruling party,ANC, will still hold the presidential seat and lose some strong holds to the opposition party. SA should pray against earthquakes and natural disasters. I see a lot of fire outbreaks and civil unrest between 2024 and 2026 so they won't be seeking Aids from nations they once helped.

Rwanda- the ruling party will still hold power but this re-election will bring a serious battle to the incumbent. I see insurrection and coup attempts. He should pray that what happened to other nations won't occur there.

South Sudan- there is already a revival coming to the churches in that country. They should pray against premature death of men between the age of 35 and 45. I see outbreaks of sickness without adequate provisions or medical facilities. The incumbent president will still be there but pray to finish what he started. He should pay attention to his health. It's only the living that can rule a nation.

Mozambique: There will be revival in the churches of that country but there is a need and a cry against division among ministers and churches. The key to turning things around is in their hands . The women should pray for their rights to be protected. I see massive violations of human rights of women. Most political leaders should ask God for mercy and great fall of some politicians unless they repent. The economy will grow strong but not as expected. The ruling party should not underestimate the opposition. I see a crop of young men in politics coming out strong but it won't stop the ruling party from winning if they seek God's face.

Togo: the pastors should pray as the watchmen are no longer watching. I see a great leader of the church being called to glory. The president meant well but will suffer betrayals and pray against poison attempts. Hard times are coming for him but he should guide against overconfidence.

Gabon- the leader that emerges through coup will try to fulfill his promises. He should pray against another coup attempt .
This is applicable to Burkina Faso too. The leaders of Burkina Faso should watch the month of June, August, November and the dates for
Burkina Faso like 22nd, 1-3rd, 8,9 and 10 of the months I mentioned.

Zambia- Pastors in Zambia should pray against marine world agents sent to cripple their works. I saw greatness coming out of zambia- and the spiritual fathers in Zambia should come out in unity and pray for that country. The key is in their hands. The government of the day should not look down on the spiritual fathers. Important government officials should pray against accidents that can claim their lives. The economic situation will still be harsh. The current president will try his best because he meant well, but there is a force in the state house that battles presidents. He should pray for the state house and fulfill his promises to citizens . God loves Zambia. He should spend his democratic dividends he promised zambians and avoid distractions. He should not make the opposition popular by his direct or indirect actions. He is not David but the saul. The real David is coming but I don't know when.

Angola: I see a serious rainfall. I see great men being called home.

The year 2023 started with palpable fears and anxieties as Nigerians were eager to know what the year had in stock for them especially since its general election period. The people of Olambe community in Ogun state have been made to suffer a great deal of bad roads for several years. They have been neglected from development in the state and they thought luck has shined on them in February 2023 when Governor Dapo Abiodun’s led administration visited them with tractors and bulldozers before the election; they did a shabby job on the road but unfortunately, the road became worse than it was three months after election.

Especially on the Olambe-Giwa long road, there is unarguably no time when road users and commuters take the route without saying one or two negative words against Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration for damaging their roads than it was earlier this year.

For people headed for Lagos state, Olambe-Giwa long road is the best route for them, hence, they have no choice than to ply the road daily. Many of those staying in Olambe community work in Lagos state and this means they have no choice than to go through this menace every day.

For people in this community, there is no season; Dry or rainy, that makes them happy. When it’s dry season, the bad situation of their roads is still pronounced, it only gets worse during raining season.
In some sections of the road, it seem as though pits were dug on them and when commuters ride on this road, they try as much as possible to be careful, skillfully avoid these huge pits on the road. During raining season, some cars end up falling into these pits, some spend days before they are removed due to the situation of the road.

Many people have been forced to sell or move out of their houses in Olambe community so they can rent houses in Lagos state for the sake of their cars and sanity. Landlords have become tenants due to the situation of bad roads in Olambe community.

Leaked Audio: Lawyer Incites People Against AAS CEO, Jesame Micheal Alleges threat to life (videos)

A Lagos lawyer, Barrister Ajose who was handling Abayomi Segun olusesan during his issue with the leading online financial platform known as Afriq Arbitrage System is embroiled in a leaked audio where he was alleged to be inciting members against the CEO, Jesame Micheal.
In the audio, Barrister Ajose invited the delegates to his office where he allegedly fabricated so many unfounded stories against Jesame Micheal and incited the members to team up against him. Close aides to Jesame Micheal revealed it a worrisome development as it poses on threat to life.
Checks revealed that the reason for his incitement is not unconnected to the fact that Abayomi left him out of his legal settlement move with AAS and the CEO. According to our source, AAjose was cut off the settlement plan when it was allegedly obvious he was only interested in financial inducement and not a solution to the imbroglio. Thus, he was cut off and another solicitor was engaged by Abayomi to handle the out-of-court settlement with AAS and Jesame Micheal. Consequently, Abayomi handed over all the properties and documents with him via affidavit and agreement of transfer to AAS and Jesame Micheal.
This move by Abayomi’s new lawyer to stand by the truth owing to Abayomi’s open confession allegedly irked Barrister Ajose. Thus, he made frantic move to instigate members to go after Jesame Michel. Sadly, he was caught on tape.

It would be recalled that the doggedness of Jesame Micheal to prove critics wrong that AAS was not a scam has paid off as Abayomi has officially admitted to the crime and settled for an out-of-court bargain. It would be recalled that Abayomi Segun Oluwasesan, who was employed by his boss on the 15th of June, 2022 to work as a web developer, literally tempered with the platform at a time when his boss, Jesam Micheal went for a liver transplant and entrusted the codes to him.
Overwhelmed by greed, Abayomi who was entrusted with the sensitive data for the smooth operations of the company, engaged the services of his cohorts, disrupting the smooth operations of the platform and stealing hard-earned investors’ money running into several billions.
Checks revealed that AAS is a global phenomenon with over 500,000 investors from over 132 countries. Thinking his employer, Jesam Micheal would not survive the operation, he withdrew several millions of dollars and became an instant rich dude with an astonishing flamboyant lifestyle overnight. His first criminal act was obtaining a Ghania passport which he used in acquiring other international residences and properties. He became the owner of a car dealership known as FIDORAY Autos and imported over 30 exotic wonders on wheels. He acquired Tanzanian and Dubai citizenship. Aside from that, he bought state-of-the-art properties in the UK, Dubai, Tanzania, and Nigeria.
One of the plazas he acquired in Lagos was to the tune of N450m, landed properties around Dangote refineries to the tune of N1b, and splashed a billion naira on the interior decoration of the Mesh 3-star hotel in Mainland, Lagos State.

A nobody Abayomi was travelling across the globe with investors’ money on first-class tickets. His dubious activities literally crashed the lucrative platform on the 15th of May, 2023.


Amidst the misconceptions, Jesame Micheal while addressing journalists cleared the air on the issues. He denied the fact that the block chain was hacked.

“There are a few things I need to clear. There are rumours and false information out there that the AAS blockchain was hacked. That’s not true. You can’t hack a blockchain. He came up with the lie and I told him it’s not possible because you can’t hack a blockchain system. He only had access to it because the code was given to him. So he had permission, my face ID, thumbprint, and other details I gave to him because I was so sick to the point of death and my survival was 50/50. So it’s a lie by him that the AAS blockchain was hacked. That was the initial lie he came up with until I confronted him with the truth and when confronted by Interpol he confessed.. Out of his wickedness, He tempered with the boot. Remember we have three components that contain AAS. He only tempered with the boot and can’t access the blockchain.

The First Lady of Kogi state, Her Excellency Rashidat Yahaya Bello yesterday powered a rally in support of APC’s governorship candidate, Usman Ododo and his running mate, Salifu Joel ahead of the governorship election coming up on Saturday.

*(Investigation) CBN Intervention Funds: Controversy As Keystone Bank Ask Participants To Pay Full Commercial Loan Rate on performing intervention facilities*

Recall that in 2020 immediately after Covid-19, the apex bank of Nigeria (CBN) swung into action by introducing a special pricing offer on the existing CIFI (Creative Industry Financing Initiative) loans. In addition to this, they injected N100bn into the economy that was disbursed through the Intervention Fund Scheme for Health Sector businesses among others.

The choice of health sector for the intervention was deliberate in 2020 following the realities and the need to strengthen the health sector after the covid-19 incident and the over dependence on imported drugs. The intervention was meant for those that play in the creative space and health sector including other manufacturing sectors and designed by CBN to cushion the impacts of Covid-19 and specifically focused on domestic manufacturing support.

Based on investigation carried out by team of well trained investigative journalists under the Nigeria Guild Of Investigative Journalists (NGIJ), we learnt that businesses in these sectors are meant to enjoy interest rate of 5% at the initial period (one year subject to extension by CBN) and there after which it reverts to 9% for the duration of the facility not exceeding 10yrs in total. Other beneficiaries in the scheme are Fashion/textile, Software Developers, Healthcare Manufacturers, Healthcare Service Providers, Healthcare Value Chain Players, etc.

However, it became a serious matter when a commercial bank, specifically KEYSTONE decided to unilaterally increase the intervention facility rate from 9% to 24% on performing customers without the knowledge or consent of CBN or without regards to the attendant effect on the businesses at this time. , The guild obtained initial information (Keystone letter to several customers dated September 20th and titled “ *NOTICE OF INTEREST RATE REVIEW* ”, which led to the full investigation.

The letter referenced ‘CBN review of ‘Cash Reserve Ratio Policy and other monetary policies’ as a basis for rate change but did not reference any directive or published circular rescinding the policy rate.

During the course of our investigation, we realized that Keystone has already started charging the increased rate by directly deducting interest at its new rate from the customers without consent.

During our investigation, we spoke to the managing director of Keystone bank, Olaniran Olayinka. who confirmed the rate change by the bank but could not provide any support of a CBN directive to that effect. The core of his argument is that the funds belong to the bank.

He noted that CBN never came to their aid when they needed support but instead has increased the cash reserve requirement from 27.5% to 32%.

He further noted that tier one banks did not participate in the intervention, but the small banks did.

A quick investigation showed that the big banks, UBA, FBN, Zenith, Access, Fidelity etc were big participants in the sector specific DCRR intervention program and all currently are adhering to the policy guidelines for such.

Not satisfied with the response, we went further to speak with another bank official who revealed to us that the newly appointed CBN Governor Mr Olayemi Cardoso has announced that the Apex will no longer get involved in any intervention funds, he said . He however did not confirm that CBN is reversing existing intervention rates while they are still performing without default.

According to the new governor of the apex bank, the bank needs to move into a limited advisory role that supports economic growth rather than actively play a prominent role in the financing of these projects. There is nothing in this statement or others we are aware of that indicates that CBN will change, or cancel its existing interventions. If that is the case, then a circular should be issued to that effect but it has not done so. The CBN statement is generally understood to mean more focus on monetary policy and less or away from fiscal policies or interventions that should be left for the relevant agencies and ministries such as Bank of Industry, Bank of Agriculture etc.

He emphasized the need to restore the apex bank’s independence and credibility by refocusing on its core mandate and ensuring a culture of compliance.

The core question which is for CBN to answer is whether a bank can unilaterally change intervention policy rates on existing facilities on non-defaulting customers without recourse to the regulator.

The challenge is a policy consistency challenge that does nothing but erode public and investor confidence.

The silence from CBN has done nothing but exacerbate the challenge or at minimum embolden unscrupulous bankers to the detriment of customers and public confidence.

Our journalist attempted to speak with the central bank director in charge when the Intervention was initiated Mr Yila Yusuf but Yila referred us to another director (Dr Musa) noting that he is no longer in charge and he can't speak on it .

When we spoke with Dr Musa, he turned us down and referred us to the CBN head of media and communications who is incommunicado till now. .

It is on this note that we are calling on the CBN governor Mr Olayemi Cardoso to come out and clarify to the public and beneficiaries the real situation of things because the companies involved are seriously concerned due to the sudden change in the policy rate.

Some of these participants invested in these entities along with foreign partners that relied on the intervention facilties and employ thousands of Nigeria across all regions.

The biggest challenge to investing in Nigeria is policy inconsistencies. It is hard to reconcile why a bank will reverse a CBN policy rate without recourse to CBN directive which is generally always published.


The challenge with not addressing this is that other banks will take this cue that CBN has approved or authorized the rate change and will follow suit.

Such arbitrariness ultimately leads to lack of investor and public confidence , potential defaults and ultimately lay off of those that were employed when these entities invested.

The Apex bank needs to do something as a matter of urgency to clarify what the policy is on existing intervention facilities for the entire banks and borrowers – it cannot be a cowboy country where there are no rules.

The country, not only investors suffers where there is an appearance of lack of policy consistency.

The governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Bello has paid a congratulatory visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu shortly after the supreme court affirmed his victory.

The supreme court had dismissed the appeal of the PDP candidate, Atiku Abubakar and that of Labour Party’s Peter Obi because they lacked merit.

How do you know a true man of God or a prophet to the nation? It’s when his message against all odds comes to fulfillment! Interestingly, Prophet Joshua Iginla has been vindicated at last as the Supreme Court on Thursday, October 26th, 2023 affirmed President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as the valid winner of the presidential election that held in the country on February 25.





The clergy with the prophetic mantle and Abuja-based General Overseer of Royal Champions Assembly, Prophet Joshua Iginla in 2021 said the 2023 election will be a year of mystery and that only God can stop Tinubu’s presidential ambition.

Recall that Maureen Badejo was slammed with a punitive damages in the sum of £100,000.00 by the UK court for defaming Dr Daniel Olukoya, the General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) and his wife Pastor Mrs Folashade Olukoya.

Unfortunately for Maureen Badejo, she has not been able to pay a dime out of the damages to the Olukoyas since the court gave the verdict in 2021. Her failed attempt to appeal the said judgment which appeal court described as pointless and hopeless only complicated her case as interests in the judgment sum kept mounting which has now left the lawyer to the Olukoyas with no option than to file for Bankruptcy against her.

At the resumed hearing of the Bankcourt application today, Maureen Badejo claimed not to have received the legal papers for her bankruptcy petition even though same had been served on her and evidence was presented that she had been served. The court has however in its magnanimity given her one last reprieve and ordered a hearing be fixed for the first open date after 14 days.

Maureen Badejo has now offered Dr Daniel Olukoya £1000.00 per month. She is basically saying she needs 100 months (about 9 years) to pay her damages to the Olukoya’s.

The offer was without hesitation rejected by the lawyers to the Olukoyas as wholly unsatisfactory.

Popular Nigerian musician, David Adeleke AKA Davido has been called out by former NFF President, Amaju Pinnick for not honouring his show ‘Warri Again’ despite the fact that he was paid $94,600.

The socialite called the musician out on stage during the event while stating that Davido disrespected Warri for not coming to their show after receiving such an amount to perform.

The former President of the NFF and member of the Organising Committee for FIFA expressed his disappointment in the Superstar’s absence at the event which held on Friday, 6th of October.

Davido was according to Amaju paid $94,600 for his performance at the event and a chartered plane was arranged to convey him and his team to the state.

The Lagos commissioner of police have confirmed that Naira Marley, Sam Larry are liable for the offence of threat to life, cyberstalking, and sundry crimes committed against Mohbad in his life time.

The commissioner made this revelation during a press conference this afternoon at the Lagos police command.

He made it known that although, both of them were not in the country when the incident that led to the death of Mohbad happened but there are evidences that confirmed that they are culpable in the earlier state offences.

The police went further to explained that Mohbad’s death can be linked to an injury which he sustained during a fight with his friend, Primeboy who was declared wanted some days ago before he turned himself in.
