InvestmentAbayomi Segun Oluwasesan: How I Hacked Afriq Arbitrage System, Stole Billions by Triton1996(op): 2:23pm On Jul 14, 2023

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3fblR9u6Gs&feature=youtu.be

Interestingly, the hackers of the leading global crypto space known as Afriq Arbitrage System have been arrested by INTERPOL Nigeria.

Sadly, contrary to the falsehood that Arabian hackers were the brain behind it, the heinous crime was perpetrated by one of the staffers, Abayomi Segun Oluwasesan, and his cohorts.

Check by us revealed that AAS was built on top-notch security architecture by the founder, Jesam Micheal, which defends itself against any aggressive attacks from external sources or forces.

However, just like the biblical story of how Judas betrayed Jesus Christ, Abayomi Segun Oluwasesan, who was employed by his boss on the 15th of June, 2022 to work as a web developer, literally hacked the platform at a time when his boss, Jesam Micheal went for a liver transplant and entrusted the codes to him.

Overwhelmed by greed, Abayomi who was entrusted with the sensitive data for the smooth operations of the company, engaged the services of his cohorts, disrupting the smooth operations of the platform and stealing hard-earned investors' money running into several billions.

Checks revealed that AAS is a global phenomenon with over 100,000 investors from over 75 counties. Thinking his employer, Jesam Micheal would not survive the operation, he withdrew several millions of dollars and became an instant rich dude with an astonishing flamboyant lifestyle overnight. He became the owner of a car dealership known as FIDORAY Autos and imported over 30 exotic wonders on wheels. He acquired Tanzanian and Dubai citizenship. Aside from that, he bought state-of-the-art properties in the UK, Dubai, Tanzania, and Nigeria.

One of the plazas he acquired in Lagos was to the tune of N450m, landed properties around Dangote refineries to the tune of N1b, and splashed a billion naira on the interior decoration of the Mesh 3-star hotel in Mainland, Lagos State.

A nobody Abayomi was travelling across the globe with investors' money on first-class tickets. His dubious activities literally crashed the lucrative platform on the 15th of May, 2023.

However, the long arm of justice caught up with him when his boss survived the health challenge and was shocked to discover the criminal activities of Abayomi who went AWOL on hearing about the recovery of Jesam Micheal. Thus, the manhunt for his arrest began spearheaded by his boss, Jesam Micheal, alongside the INTERPOL. He was eventually arrested and willingly admitted by confession that he was guilty of stealing the investors' money blindly.

His crimes bother on financial crimes, data theft, cyber security crimes, and fraudulent takeover of the online financial platform to perpetrate cyber financial crimes.

Video of his confession
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yp2JjfUg-os

Sadly, his criminal activities have left investors in the throes of suicide, pain, and agony as their hard-earned money and lifetime investments were stolen callously by Abayomi. In an emotionally laden voice, some of the investors narrate their ordeals on how the unfortunate incident has crashed their world and left them in pain...

Obi from Anambra State joined AAS from inception. She has two accounts and brought people into the platforms. “ I am not happy. Since the unfortunate incident occurred"

Roselyn Bamisaye From Abuja - “I knew the CEO last year through a lady. I am a retiree. All my money went into the scheme. My husband too who is a retiree was a subscriber to the tune N3m as a starter. He registered a lot of family members and the return investment was moving on smoothly until Abayomi jeopardize our lifeline. We are not happy. The widows we have been helping via this investment are now crying helplessly. It has not been easy at all.

Onyekachi Timothy Ibe- I got to know AAS through my sister. I started with $2000 and increased it to $10000. I made up to $22000 as profit before Abayomi hacked the platform. It's so saddening.

Akinpelu Sunday from Osun state- A pastor from Kenya introduced me to the platform. The conception of AAS by the CEO was borne out of ingenuity, simplicity, and honesty. I brought a lot of family members and clients to the platform. We put in huge money as investors. The return on investment was real and huge. Everything was moving on smoothly until CEO was sick and went for treatment. Sadly a common enemy, a dangerous serpent called Abayomi hacked into the system and caused us so much problem. Whosoever tries to pervert justice will meet with Karma.

Alex Adaboi- A Nollywood actor from Benue state but based IN Abuja. I go to know about it like 10 months ago. Prior to that period, I just came out of a bad experience. I lost about $80,000 and my kid brother here too lost about $70,000. We joined AAS because it was genuine and had a real face behind it. We have been able to b taking care of the widows in our own little way and felt this platform will help us interpret our dreams. Sadly, his fool called Abayomi came in to destabilize things. This has brought in untold pains and agony and made me quite suicidal. It's so painful. He destroyed a lot of souls and lifelines.

Captain David Adabo- a pilot by profession. I know about Arbitrate since I was a teenager. I lost a lot through fake platforms but my belief was rekindled through AAS. His confidence and knowledge were amazing. We put in a lot of resources. Truth be told, everything the CEO told us about the trade, he fulfilled them until the wicked Abayomi scattered things. It was annoying. Truth be told, the CEO through AAS really trained and taught us about this trade and everything was going smoothly as he said it would. Even the devil is clapping for this criminal and greedy Abayomi.

Micheal from Abia state- I got to know about AAS through a friend in January 2023. I had fallen victim to Ponzi schemes in the past and lost all interest in online trading. However, when I joined the AAS platform, my passion was rekindled and I was really making money. It was going smoothly. In fact, my wife who is a critic of online trading joined when she discovered I was making money. But the beautiful story turned upside down because of the criminality of a common enemy known as Abayomi. From that April till now, things have turned upside down. My landlord has given me a quit notice. It has been so traumatic because of the callousness of one fellow called Abayomi.

Abraham Lawal from Lagos. What prompted me to join was the sincerity of the CEO. I registered my wife, my son, and other family members. Sadly, the unfortunate incident happened in April and the agony is uncontrollable.

Godwin Stanley- I got to know about this platform last year. Everything was moving smoothly until this unfortunate incident. Now I turned to beg for survival.

PoliticsOpinion: All Eyes On The Youths By Benjamin Bako by Triton1996(op): 2:37pm On Jul 12, 2023
Opinion: All Eyes On The Youths By Benjamin Bako

Executive Governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas early this week ruffled huge feathers across the political landscape with the release of 21 mostly young commissioner nominees consisting of a record number of highly educated youthful women.

Majority of Tarabans, especially the youths across the state and Nigeria at large welcomed the move as a breath of fresh air, breaking away from the past and a fulfilment of his often emphasised pledge to engage the youths and transform the political horizon of the agrarian State long plagued by large-scale corruption and ineptitude.

Youths are the backbone of any nation. Their physical and intellectual energies matter to the growth of a developing state such as Taraba. The Dr Agbu Kefas's government same keen on leveraging the manifold talents in the state's youth through meaningful engagement and dialogue to extricate the comatose giant with huge potentials to walk again.

In all societies that value advancement, the youths represent the most vital and energetic element of the population. Statistics indicate that developing nations with sizable youth population continue to see significant development in all areas of their economies if they invest in young people's rights, education, and political empowerment.

The old political class have nothing to fear in a Youth takeover in Taraba State. The bold and brave move made by His Excellency Dr Agbu Kefas must be supported by all Tarabans who desire a clean break from the status quo that has held our wealthy state down for so long to a bright new future of peace, unity and plenty.

The old political class must realise that there's time for everything, and that these gradual wind of change is never meant to circumvent their relevance , but to enhance their productivity at the backstage where their long years of experience shall be harness by the youths from time to time during the transition. The old brigade must as a matter of integrity and self respect desist from engaging in activities that will slow the march to progress of this new government.

The small group of youths selected from amongst millions of Tarabas young people given the opportunity to serve now must be clear-eyed about the scale and scope of the challenges facing our state right now and not be carried away by the privileges the office confers on them. The once in a lifetime opportunity given to them by Dr Agbu Kefas must never be abuse and trampled upon.

Dr Agbu Kefas has always believed that we can advance in partnership and solidarity by building on our past, with ambition and confidence in our future for greater Taraba that is stronger economically with vibrant Youths looking confidently into the future with dignity and pride. Youths must reciprocate this kind gesture by not disappointing Dr Agbu Kefas and millions of Tarabans who's attention is now focused on them.

Congratulations!

PoliticsWhy Engr. Dr. Funmi Ayinke Deserves To Become The Next Governor Of Ondo State by Triton1996(op): 1:17pm On Jul 04, 2023
By Osho Oluwatosin

The Governor of Ondo state, Arakurin Rotimi Akeredolu has performed excellently well for close to eight years of his administration. He has brought about reforms and innovations that have transformed Ondo state better than it was a few years back.

While Rotimi Akeredolu has performed well as the governor of Ondo state, it is a known fact that he won’t be there forever. His administration expires in 2024 and as expected, the search for who will take over as the next governor of the state has begun.

At the moment, no prominent politician has indicated interest to occupy the number one position in the state apart from a vibrant woman, Engr. Dr. Funmi Ayinke Waheed-Adekojo; is an individual who could cause a political tsunami come 2024 at the polls.

Funmi Ayinke declared her interest in the election polls some weeks back and was greeted by wide reception by the good people of the state on account of her antecedents as a worthy leader. Even though she isn’t seen as a major player in the political environment, the acceptance that followed her declaration was a testimony of her influence and proof that the people of Ondo state have been anticipating her grand entrance into the political scene.

Despite the dichotomy against women’s participation in politics, Funmi Ayinke decided to take the bull by the horn by not just declaring her intention to become the next governor of her state but becoming the first person to do so, portraying how prepared she is for the task ahead.

In Nigeria, politicians are akin to liars, deceivers, criminals, thieves, and so on but Funmi Ayinke is far from all these characters. She’s known majorly for her exploit in the engineering industry, humanitarian activities, inspirational music, and provider of job opportunities through her various establishments. The question now is, Do the people of Ondo state deserve a politician who will deceive them or a technocrat who will uplift them?

With the entrance of Funmi Ayinke into the contest, it’s clear that the trajectory of Nigerian politics is about to change from Ondo state. She may not be a thoroughbred politician like others who may declare later but one thing is clear; Funmi Ayinke is a different breed.

Over the years, She has created more than 2,000 jobs for Ondo citizens through Funmi Ayinke Nigeria Limited, contributed immensely to the growth of the youth community through constant empowerment programmes, donations of funds, setting up businesses for women and widows, paid hospital bills, sorted accommodation issues for innumerable beneficiaries.

For 20 years, Funmi Ayinke engaged in humanitarian services with her funds with the establishment of Funmi Ayinke Humanity Foundation (FAHF), and through the years, she was responsible for the school fee payments of over 5,000 students, education scholarships, sponsoring of interested students overseas to further their academics, to mention a few.

In Nigeria, politicians engage in little humanitarian services only during the election period but for Funmi Ayinke, an act of benevolence is a lifestyle and this is one of the reasons she deserves to become the governor of Ondo state. People deserve someone close to them, who can feel their pain, and solve their problems.

Ordinarily, Funmi Ayinke may not have decided to contest for the position of governor due to her personality. She just wants to impact people and nothing more but clamour from religious leaders, traditional rulers, and pressure groups within Ondo state for her to become the next governor of the state fueled her decision to declare.

For Funmi Ayinke, declaring her intention to contest isn’t desperation but a call to the service of humanity. If she can cater to the needy for over 20 years without holding any political office, becoming the next governor of Ondo state will only mean more people will benefit and the people will get to enjoy the dividend of democracy.

As a professional engineer who is recognized in different parts of the world, Funmi Ayinke has the undeniable ability to influence international investors to commit themselves to the progress of Ondo state. With her global influence and intellectual capacity, many of the untapped resources in Ondo state will be explored to increase the state’s internally generated revenue (IGR). With Funmi Ayinke as the governor, Ondo State will become the nation’s pride in no time.

Engr. Dr. Funmi Ayinke’s governorship ambition represents different things; A beacon of light for many women who want to participate in politics, hope for the youths that feel they can’t attain leadership positions, confidence for the common man, hope for democracy, among several others.

PoliticsTaraba: Dr. Agbu Kefas And His Resurrection Power by Triton1996(op): 7:03pm On Jun 14, 2023
Taraba: Dr. Agbu Kefas And His Resurrection Power By Oluwatosin Alex

It’s been barely 15 days since the Governor of Taraba state, Dr. Agbu Kefas was inaugurated into office but the achievements so far make it seem like he’s been in power for several years.

With the reforms he has brought to Taraba state within a short period, even his greatest critics can testify that indeed, Taraba state has come alive once again.

Dr. Agbu Kefas has redefined governance in the northeastern state and has changed the trajectory of Nigeria’s politics which many know to be a game of name-calling and passing blame on predecessors by newly elected successors, especially for a state like Taraba where retrogression has been the order of the day for the past eight years.

During his first week in office, Dr. Agbu Kefas laid a strong foundation for the plans he has for the good people of Taraba state by touching every of his campaign promises that include Education, economy and job creation, security, peace and unity, women and youth empowerment, and healthcare. He has worked in these areas he promised to bring changes and so far, massive improvements have been recorded.

Apart from these, Dr. Agbu Kefas has been able to identify some facilities that could bring a turnaround in the state but are currently not being used effectively. These facilities that were considered ‘dead’ many years ago are gradually coming to life, all thanks to the resurrection power of Dr. Agbu Kefas.

One of these facilities is the Danbaba Danfulani Suntai Airport which was closed down in 2017. The past administration made little or no attempt to revive the airport which could boost the economy of Taraba state and serve as an attraction for investors. A few days ago, Dr. Agbu Kefas reached out to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to discuss plans to re-open the airport.

As we speak, Dr. Agbu Kefas has donated an ambulance to the airport and a fire truck is expected to be delivered soon. Anytime from now, Danbaba Danfulani Suntai airport will come alive once more and this will be a major boost to the state. There are also plans to re-organize the aviation sector in the state with the support of certain investors.

Another sector where Dr. Agbu Kefas is exerting his resurrection power on is the education sector. Recall that he declared a state of emergency on secondary education in the state due to how bad the sector has gone in the last few years. Earlier today, Dr. Agbu Kefas visited government secondary school and ordered the immediate close down due to a lack of educational facilities. Also, renovation is to commence immediately to improve the quality of education in the state.

One of the most underutilized sets of people in Taraba state is the youth. The past government failed to engage or look out for them and this is one of the things that fueled insecurity in the state. Dr. Agbu Kefas had promised that his administration will cater for the youths and as a matter of fact, 80% of his administration will be given to the youths and women in Taraba state.

In fulfilling this promise, Dr. Agbu Kefas came up with a three-day youth summit that kicked off yesterday Tuesday, 13th Of June, 2023 to engage the youths and further reiterate his commitment to the youth population. He mentioned at the summit that his administration will not just provide jobs for the youths but will also make them job providers. The first day of the summit marked its success and it was well attended by representatives of the youth community from different parts of Taraba state. It was also a moment to revive the hopes of the youths in the state and assurance that with Dr. Agbu Kefas, they will be well utilized for the progress of Taraba state.

At the moment, Dr. Agbu Kefas is among the best-performing governors in Nigeria, and in no time, Taraba state will wear a new look with his revolutionary skills to bring back to life that which was considered ‘dead’ or non-existent.

BusinessUnder MD Akinola George’s Watch, Heritage Bank Head Of IT Diverts N49 Billion by Triton1996(op): 1:57pm On Jun 14, 2023
Heritage Bank led by Akinola George-Taylor, one of Nigeria’s lending establishments is once more engulfed in the web of severe crisis shaking it to its very roots.

Fresh information from informed sources at the bank indicates that Heritage Bank appears to have seen better days as this is as ENigeria Newspaper reports that among the catalogue of issues currently hanging around the lender’s neck as the proverbial hangman’s noose includes, a serious boardroom crisis which has seen the edging out of allies of its former Managing Director and Chief Executive, Ifie Sekibo from the board of the moribund bank.

Further investigations by this newspaper revealed that apart from the issues of “Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) and the Liquidity Ratio (LR), the commercial bank is also grappling with many other crises that tend to threaten its survival. One of them is its poor services which are staring its customers in the face. Already, most of the bank’s branches are awash with complaints of unsatisfied customers whose singsong is their plans to close their accounts due to the long hours they experience to get services from Heritage Bank staff.
There are also strong indications that the lender which is currently on life support is only an inch away from the harmer of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

Heritage Bank’s Boardroom crisis worsens, Ifie Sekibo’s loyalists edged out

You would recall that, months ago, ENigeria Newspaper reported that Ifie Sekibo, a banking legend and boardroom guru who was the founder of the bank bowed out upon the expiration of his tenure in line with the directive outlined by the apex bank.
This Newspaper exclusively reports that since his exit, things have reportedly further degenerated on the watch of the new helmsman, Akinola George-Taylor who is said to have allegedly connived with other members of the board to frustrate loyalists of his predecessor.
Even though George Taylor is faced with the huge challenge of reviving the fortunes of the ailing bank and drive growth, sources say he has instead, allegedly, instigated multiple internal crisis, in an attempt to rid the bank of those suspected to be loyalists of some board members, and employ his own people. This is according to an account by a reliable source in the bank.

“Some key members of the board, connived with the MD (George-Taylor) to sideline others who are considered to be loyal to Ifie and as for other members of staff who are in the same category, they have been sacked with immediate effect and that includes, Rilwan Dabiri, head of IT department in the bank and over 70 others”, the source concluded.

On the other hand, another source who spoke to us on the condition of anonymity said, “Although many have been sacked from the Bank, most of them have been indicted in one fraud or the other, thus their sacking by the new management is justified”. The source further stated that only a few who were hit by the mass sacking are victims of circumstance.

Under Akinola George Taylor, Heritage Bank’s Head of IT Diverts N49 Billion into Separate Accounts, Disappears

Meanwhile, ENigeria Newspaper also learned that Rilwan Dabiri upon exit handed over the IT department to his successor who is simply identified as Akin. Since resuming his new position as head of IT, Akin had allegedly been engaging in serious insider fraud which includes unauthorized transfer of funds from the bank’s coffers into private bank accounts which he secretly operates without the knowledge of his employers.

According to the bank’s structure, only the head of IT has sole access and operates the Finacle Financial Solution platform which is solely used for online transfer of funds in the financial sector. For this reason, Akin who has unfettered access to the platform seized the opportunity to initiate multiple transfers of about N49 billion into six accounts domiciled in six commercial banks in Nigeria.
His escapades were soon exposed following an internal audit per the instruction of the bank’s MD, George Taylor which reportedly exposed the mega fraud. Upon further interrogation, he was only able to drop one of the six accounts before disappearing and switching off his phones.

The management of the bank is afraid of inviting the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to open an investigation for fear of stirring up the hornet nest.

It remains to be seen how the new leadership of Heritage Bank Plc under the watch of Akinola George-Taylor intends to steer the lender off troubled waters, but key indicators suggest that things are not good.

Meanwhile when we contacted Ozenna Utulu, head of Corporate Communications of Heritage Bank on Wednesday morning for official reaction via SMS, she neither acknowledged receipt, nor responded to our message sent to her MTN line.

CareerEngr. Dr. Funmi Ayinke Shines At APPON Annual Conference, Becomes Life Matron by Triton1996(op): 9:56am On Jun 09, 2023
Engr. Dr. Funmi Ayinke Shines At APPON Annual Conference, Becomes Life Matron

Renowned Nigerian celebrity engineer, Dr. Funmi Ayinke Waheed-Adekojo has been appointed as the life matron of the Association Of Public Procurement Practitioners Of Nigeria (APPON).

The appointment took place at the annual conference of the association where Engr. Dr. Funmi Ayinke was a keynote speaker and delivered a mind-blowing speech for the teeming crowd of professionals.

Engr. Dr. Funmi Ayinke at the event spoke on the prospects and challenges of the implementation of –procurement in Nigeria. She noted that e-procurement is an encouraging platform that will help the country save significant money.

She explained that the cost of governance can easily be reduced with e-procurement and it will in turn grow the economy of Nigeria massively.

‘’The introduction of e-procurement in Nigeria offers great prospects for improving government procurement practices. The Federal Government's announcement of a pilot program to switch to the E-Procurement platform is encouraging because it is anticipated to save the nation a significant amount of money that is lost through the implementation of the present Public Procurement Act, which is paper-dependent.’’

‘’The anticipated outcome of E-Procurement Systems could save greatly on recurring expenses and capital expenditures, respectively. Lowering the cost of governance to free up financial resources for growth should be everyone's target, and with e-Procurement, this can be easily achieved.’’

Also, APPON explained the reason behind the choice of Engr. Dr. Funmi Ayinke as the association’s matron is major because of her exploits in the profession over the years despite the limitations of the female gender in the profession.

CrimeLand Grabbing Scandal Allegation: Saheed Ibile, Not Topaz, Is A Land Grabber by Triton1996(op): 2:41pm On Jun 07, 2023
Land Grabbing Scandal Allegation: Saheed Ibile, Not Topaz, Is A Land Grabber – Eyin-Osa Families

The Eyin-Osa community leaders have exonerated popular real estate merchant, Murphy Adebare popularly known as Topaz from land grabbing claims making rounds in the media.
There were reports that Murphy Adebare has been arrested for offences related to land-grabbing, forceful takeover and criminal trespassing.

Although the claims of arrest are untrue, one of the family representative, Alhaji Suleiman has mentioned popular land grabbers, Alhaji Saheed Ibile, Alhaji Muraina Banjoko AKA Threeco and the Oba Of Epe as brains behind the crisis in Eyin-Osa community and the recent media attacks against Murphy Adebare.

While speaking to journalists, Alhaji Sulaiman made it known that Ibile has been selling landed properties given to the community by the state government as a compensation following the acquisition of more than 16,000 acres owned by three communities namely Abomiti, Eyin-Osa and Yeguda.

According to him, the government compensated the communities with over 2,300 acres, with Eyin-Osa families getting 700 acres being the largest owners of the initial landed properties. However, the properties have been taken over by the Alhaji Saheed Ibile, Alhaji Muraina Banjoko (Threeco) and the Oba Of Epe.

‘’ The government acquired about 16,000 acres of land from three towns; Abomiti, Eyin Osa and Yeguda. The government relocated them and gave them properties along the express way, it was over 2,300 acres. Every family in the community has their Certificate of occupancy.’’

‘’At the end of the day, the Eyin-Osa families were not satisfied because they had the largest share of the land acquired by the government. They went to court and requested for 20% of the landed properties sometime last year. They contacted one man called Olukoya popularly
known as Alhaji White and he promised to help them survey and monitor their landed properties which they obliged to.’’

‘’In the course of survey and monitoring, He brought in a land grabber, Alhaji Threeco to secure the landed properties. He deceived the families into allowing Alhaji Threeco work for them and they gave him 25 acres of the landed properties to monitor the land.’’

‘’In the process, Alhaji Threeco in conjunction with Olukoya and Oba of Epe started selling the lands of the family. Last year, Alhaji Saheed Ibile contacted the family and assured them that he will pursue Alhaji Threeco from the premises because he has sold a lot of acres from the land. The family agreed and asked him to help them send Threeco away but Immediately Ibile got the job, he connived with Threeco, Adekoya and Oba of Epe and they became a team and started selling all the landed property.’’

He explained that Saheed Ibile has been claiming to have 1,500 acres of land in the 2,300 acres given to the communities by the government.
Alhaji Suleiman explained that they dragged the case to the police headquarters in Abuja with the real owners of Eyin-Osa but Saheed Ibile found a way to maneuver the case by bribing DIG Kokumo who just retired few months ago.

‘’Recently, they met with Ibile to ask him of the amount of Land he has in the 2,300 acres given to the people by the government and he said he has about 1,500 acres there. He said he bought the land but it’s a lie, an acre is sold for N10 Million there.’’

‘’The family that went to court to agitate are the original owners of the land in Eyin Osa which the government gave them 700 acres. The families didn’t sign any paper for Ibile. After then, Ibile and Oba of Epe came up with imposters and presented themselves as the owners of Eyin Osa. When we went to Abuja last year, we took the Eyin Osa families to the DIG office, they were more than 200 and they asked Ibile to bring his own people, he brought just two people to present them as Eyin Osa owners. The family members of Eyin Osa denied the two people he brought as family members and didn’t have anything to do again.’’

‘’At the end of the day, the DIG Kokumo asked all of us not to step on the land for now but in January, Ibile gave the DIG money and he was planning to retire. He collected money from Ibile and he was allowed to start working on the land. He got gun wielding criminals, thugs, snipers and land grabbers on the land. He started selling the landed properties and started intimidating them with police.’’

Speaking on the involvement of Murphy Adebare AKA Topaz in the matter, Alhaji Suleiman made it known that Topaz paid over N1 Billion to buy landed properties from the original owners of Eyin-Osa despite knowing that they don’t have access to the landed properties yet. He noted that the people of Eyin Osa are standing solidly behind him in the fight because he bought land from them legally.

‘’When Topaz came in, he did his research and looked for the original land owners of Eyin Osa to buy the land. Topaz paid over 1 billion to the families. Now, he is different from Ibile who didn’t buy land. Now that Topaz bought land from Eyin-Osa people, they said they are ready to back him up. He has all the evidence and receipts which he paid with. Now, you are saying Topaz is a land grabber, how is he a land grabber, it’s totally different.’’

Similarly, she released the much-anticipated video for her hit single, Chocolate.

The event which took place on Saturday, 27th of May, 2023 had important personalities and celebrities who are friends of Funmi Ayinke. The likes of Gbenga Adeyinka The 1st, Kunle Afod, Fiokee, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, a member of the national assembly, Honourable Phillips, APPON members, Members of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, to mention but a few honoured the Engineer cum musician with their presence.

Funmi Ayinke, who had gotten a huge surprise earlier in the day and two car gifts last month to celebrate her birthday was astonished at the calibre of personalities present at her birthday celebration and the amazing things they had to say about her.
For the former VC of the University of Lagos, Funmi Ayinke was a huge part of his success during his tenure. He revealed that the musician, who is more like a daughter to him, helped him in different ways including saving him from committing a grave error.

‘’I want to return all Glory to almighty God. When I think about my success as Vice Chancellor, I can’t talk about my success without the contribution of Funmi Ayinke. I would have committed an error if not for her intervention. I would have gone into a trap if not because I consulted with her and she warned me about the problems ahead.’’

‘’Some of our funds were locked somewhere, she asked me not to worry and she told me what to do to get it. We put everything together and today we have a testimony ‘’

‘’Thirdly, the confidence she brings into whatever she’s doing and professionalism. She says it the way it is. I want to thank God for her life, husband and children’’

Honourable Phillips, who was just elected into the national assembly, extolled the positive contribution of Dr Funmi Ayinke to his victory at the last election. He spoke about the encouragement she gave him during the election and how she made some of his constituents vote for him.

‘’I am glad to be here tonight to celebrate Dr Funmi Ayinke. During my election, she was helpful. She encouraged me through some of her philanthropic gestures, she made some of my people vote for me. If we call her three-faced or four-faced, we will be wrong, I would like to call her many faces. She’s multiple personalities in one person. As busy as politicians are during this period, I deem it fit to be here. We will be inviting her to the National Assembly so that Nigerians will learn from her’’

The members of APPON who came from Abuja described the celebration as a professional and great woman. They expressed surprise at how easily she combines her thriving music career and profession without both clashing. They also announced that she has been nominated as the matron of the association and will be properly confirmed at an event later in the year.

‘’She’s been a professional, a great woman. If you go to the music industry she’s there, due process and professionalism in public procurement she’s there. She’s done so much for the profession. I bring greetings from all our platforms to celebrate with her. I pray God keeps you and blesses you. I want to announce that she has been approved as the matron of APPON, she will be confined properly at the event.’’

Similarly, the national chairman of the national institute of mechanical engineers described Dr Funmi Ayinke as a fantastic and dynamic woman who has done so much for the profession. She noted that women are few in the mechanical engineering field but Funmi Ayinke is one of the best in the industry.

‘’She’s one fantastic lady, dynamic, beautiful, hard-working and someone dynamic in nature. We are limited as ladies in mechanical engineering but she’s one of the best we have. I was called from Ghana about giving her an award, I told them she deserves it. She’s indeed a change agent God has brought into the industry.’’

Furthermore, Professor Waheed Adekojo, husband to Funmi Ayinke, showered her with praises for all she has been through over the years. The highlight of his testimony about his wife was the fact that she is a prayer warrior who believes so much in God and has taught him to always run to God whenever there are issues.

‘’If I want to talk about my wife it will take a lot of time. She’s someone who so much loves God, believes in God and prays to God and that’s why whenever there’s a disappointment, she’s always run to GOD.’’

‘’She has taught me to become prayerful and believe that with God there’s nothing one can’t achieve. This motivates her to impact people. She doesn’t want to see people in pain, She doesn’t want people to be in need. She’s ready to spend the little she has for people.’’

‘’She doesn’t want failure, she moves sometimes at night to sort out problems for people. She’s too hardworking and I am not surprised at her success. She believes in quality, if you have quality things it will last. She wants the country to work, she doesn’t think about herself alone. I am not surprised God is doing all these for her.’’

‘’She doesn’t joke with her children, she has taught them to be prayerful. Above all, I love her so much’’
In her reactions, Engr. Dr Funmi Ayinke appreciated everyone present at the party while speaking about how little she started and how God has tremendously blessed the work of her hands.

She revealed that her major motivation for success was the sacrifices of her mother while she was growing up. She noted that her mother took so many loans to sort some of her bills and this made her motivated for success.

‘’I want to thank everyone here tonight. People who know me when I was much younger know the journey was not easy. To every girl child, we all celebrate success but truly there’s a process to success. I thank my mother and sincerely speaking, each time I see my mother make sacrifices for me back then, I am determined to slap poverty. I pledged to make it and I want to tell every Nigerian girl that they can be successful without losing integrity. What kept me going is believing in God. He is the one that can take you without giving up on you.’’

Funmi Ayinke stated that she once sold Kerosene at a time to add value to society and through this initiative, she empowered many widows in the city of Ibadan.

‘’I believe in a person of value, I pursued value and didn’t care about money. I was selling kerosene as a nursing mother, I repaired pumps for filling stations, and each time I go to my office, people call me ‘Iya Ayo onikerorsene’. I made so many kerosene sellers in Ibadan and that is why whenever I cough in Ibadan, people rise for me.’’

Continuing, Funmi Ayinke encouraged women in society and campaigned against looking down on the ‘girl child’ because women are agents of change in every society.

‘’I notice in life that when you are a goal-getter, the enemy targets you. While I was coming up, I faced so many hurdles. I once received a 36-page petition against me but God saw me through’’
‘’When you look down on one woman, you kill a society. I want to tell everyone to pick a girl child, don’t give up on them. My kids and I embark on fasting and prayers sometimes. I am a product of God’s grace and what I am today has taken care of thousands of women. ‘’

Christianity EtcProphet Joshua Iginla Writes Open Letter To Tinubu by Triton1996(op): 12:07pm On May 29, 2023
Nigerian Prophet, Joshua Iginla Pens Open Letter To President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu

Of the truth, according to Daniel 2: 21, it is God who controls the course of world events; He removes kings and sets up other kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the scholars.

On this note, I heartily congratulate Your Excellency for emerging victorious in the most keenly contested presidential election since the return to democracy in Nigeria. Your emergence is a divine mandate ordained by God as revealed to me by God several times and which is all over the public domain.

As you take charge of steering the destiny of the nation in these challenging times in various spheres of the lives of Nigerians, may God Almighty endow you with all the necessary tools, good health, and wisdom to enable you to lead the nation into greatness in all ramifications.

His Excellency sir, I write this open letter to you not only as a prophet of God but as an authority who has a degree in Political Science and a Master's in international Law and Diplomacy to be objectively ready to tackle Nigeria’s greatest challenge of insecurity, widespread corruption, and a general sense of dissatisfaction among citizens and as well, meet the expectation of the people.

I call on you to tackle the problem by unifying the country and solving major socio-economic, religious, and ethnic problems confronting the country as a father of the nation.

I want to remind you that Nigeria is a heterogeneous country battling crises of insecurity, kidnapping, and extreme poverty.

Since no one will expect you to tackle all the crises at once, Nigerians will be expecting you to dedicate your administration to genuine renewal work, at least to let Nigerians see and feel the difference, however little.

As a unifier, don't step out as a vindictive leader. Rather, bring all warring parties on board to objectively discuss the way forward to a better Nigeria.

It is an open secret that Nigerians are yearning for good governance as past administrations have left an open sore in the hearts of the citizens with bad governance and broken electoral promises. His Excellency sir, I am very sure you are aware of the loopholes of these past administrations which I believe should be your target.

Addressing loopholes is not tantamount to fighting the past; rather, it means you should learn from the past administration, which, of course, you’re part of, to address the crises now for a better Nigeria.

It is not too much to say that you have a lot to do to convince huge numbers of the youth who have shown dissatisfaction with the performance of your party in the past eight years.

Also, I want to plead on behalf of Nigerians and that is, you should do anything in your capacity to end the insecurity that is ravaging our country. The hydra-headed menace has undermined the propensity of our beloved country for progress.

No country develops in chaos. That is why you should, as the first step to renewing the hope of a country long trapped in hopelessness, pay attention to its security situation and not play politics with the appointment of service chiefs.

Aside from that, it is obvious that Nigerians voted on their religious and ethnic affiliations, rather than on the policies and qualifications of the candidates.

His Excellency, I salute your capacity to put up with criticism from religious leaders. However, I urge you to exercise patience, wisdom, and tolerance with religious leaders be they pastors or Imams, and treat them with respect.

Any leader that witch-hunts religious leaders are digging a pit for his downfall. Personally, when I see the persecution of religious leaders, I speak up. I will not keep quiet. As a unifier, I beseech your administration to handle their issues with wisdom and preserve national harmony.

Also, as a unifier, I will appeal and suggest that His Excellency should forgive and release Nnamdi Kanu.

Furthermore, as a barrier breaker and a line crosser, I beseech you to implement your objective which is to foster a new society based on shared prosperity, tolerance, compassion, and the unwavering commitment to treating each citizen with equal respect and due regard

I want to remind you of your 10-point agenda which formed your manifesto during the campaign:

1. Build a Nigeria, especially for our youth, where sufficient jobs with decent wages create a better life.

2. Manufacture, create, and invent more of the goods and services we require. Nigeria shall be known as a nation of creators, not just of consumers.

3. Export more and import less, strengthening both the naira and our way of life.

4. Continue assisting our ever-toiling farmers, through enlightened agricultural policy that promotes productivity and assures decent incomes, so that farmers can support their families and feed the nation.

5. Modernise and expand public infrastructure so that the rest of the economy can grow at an optimal rate.

6. Embolden and support our young people and women by harnessing emerging sectors such as the digital economy, entertainment and culture, tourism, and others to build the Nigeria of tomorrow, today.

7. Train and give economic opportunity to the poorest and most vulnerable among us. We seek a Nigeria where no parent is compelled to send a child to bed hungry, worried whether tomorrow shall bring food.

8. Generate, transmit, and distribute sufficient, affordable electricity to give our people the requisite power to enlighten their lives, homes, and dreams.

9. Make basic healthcare, education, and housing accessible and affordable for all.

10. And, most importantly, establish a bold and assertive policy that will create a strong yet adaptive national security architecture and action to obliterate terror, kidnapping, banditry, and all other forms of violent extremism from the face of our nation.

His Excellency sir, as a prophetic voice to nations who stood out as a lone voice of truth in the wilderness to declare your emergence as revealed by God since 2021, I will stand as a watchman to ensure you don't derail in your God-given assignment and if you do, I will not hesitate to pen you an open letter like this to guide, correct and rebuke if necessary.

May God Almighty support your administration for the desired growth of Nigeria.

PoliticsHow PDP Ogun Candidate, Ladi Adebutu Fled Nigeria Over Vote Buying Case by Triton1996(op): 2:06pm On May 24, 2023
PDP Ogun Gov Candidate, Ladi Adebutu Flees Nigeria Over Vote Buying, Money Laundering Crime

Contrary to his claim that he left the country because of alleged threats to his life, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the March 18 governorship election in Ogun State, Hon Ladi Adebutu, actually travelled abroad to evade the long arm of the law over alleged criminal activities, sources have revealed.

Checks revealed that Adebutu left the country following security agencies' uncovering of a vote buying plot linked to him during the March 18, 2023 governorship and House of Assembly polls in Ogun State and the invitation extended to him to clarify issues.
According to the sources, Adebutu was alleged to have perpetrated bribery, conspiracy and peddling undue influence contrary to sections 121 and 127 of the Electoral Act 2022; breach of electoral law prohibiting vote trading, deliberate facilitation of money laundering, and connivance to deliberately breach the monetary policy of the Federation.

Sources revealed that in a letter made available to security agencies investigating his criminal activities, Adebutu had indicated that he travelled abroad to seek medical care, and had given no indication of threat to life.

Sources within the security services indicated that preliminary investigations showed that in the build-up to the election, Adebutu had contacted his bank and caused over 200,000 prepaid Verve bank cards preloaded with N10,000 each to be printed.
A credible security source confirmed, with clear-cut evidence that these Verve Bank Cards were delivered directly in two batches on the 16th and 17th of March 2023, respectively, by an accounts officer from a new generation bank.

This, it was maintained, is a violation of Section 121of the Electoral Act (2022), which prescribes 12 months' imprisonment for any “person who directly or indirectly, by his or herself or by any other person on his other behalf corruptly makes any gift, loan, offer, promise, procurement or agreement to or for any person, in order to induce such person to procure or to endeavour to procure the return of any person as a member of a legislative house or to an elective office or the vote of any voter at any election."

The Verve cards, which were supposedly printed to honour the lawmaker's late mother, were however uncovered as vote buying instruments going by the confessions of party agents and POS operators arrested by security agencies during the polls, which indicted the PDP guber candidate.

Adebutu was said to have applied for the Verve cards from the Bank on February 27, 3023 two days after the presidential election which the PDP lost by a wide margin in Ogun State, following which the cards were delivered to him by his relationship officer in the bank.
Investigation further revealed that contrary to Adebutu's claim that the cards were issued during his mother's burial, they were actually issued few days to the election, raising the obvious question of collusion by the bank with a politically exposed person to perpetrate electoral fraud.

Also, the statements by some of Adebutu's polling agents that were arrested confirmed that he gave them the cards to manipulate the March 18 polls.

The sources described Adebutu's actions , using game-betting platforms and POS operators, as well planned, carefully orchestrated and unprecedented electoral fraud made out of desperation after losing the February 25, 2023 Presidential and National Assembly elections.

Adebutu and his agents were said to have distributed the cards throughout the over 5000 polling units and positioned POS operators at the same so each voter could convert the card to cash at the POS terminals.
The cards were said to have been funded on the 16th and 17th of March directly from Adebutu's account with the Bank, with the lawmaker paying over N2.4bn directly from his account.
Said a source: "Checks at the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) showed that the foundation in whose name the PDP candidate carried out his criminal activities were fictitious.

"We have it on good authority that following a petition written to security agencies over the incident, it was observed that Adebutu expended huge sums to manipulate the March 18 2023. governorship election in Ogun State.
"Hon Adebutu caused prepaid Verve cards preloaded with N10,000 each and bearing such inscriptions as Dame Caroline Oladunni Adebutu Empowerment Scheme, Dame Caroline Scheme and “Dame Caroline Oladunni Adebutu Memorial Endowment Scheme, to be printed under the guise of honouring his late mother, but it was a vote buying gimmick, and these cards were used to buy votes on March 18.

"Luck, however, ran out on him when party agents and POS operators who were used to perpetrate the deliberate manipulation of the electoral process were arrested by the security agencies and made statements that indicted him.

"The financial institutions that collaborated with him have revealed that he contacted them to create the cards which were delivered to him two days to the governorship election.

"It was when he observed that all these things had come into the open that he suddenly disappeared into thin air in order to evade justice."
The security sources, which accused the PDP lawmaker of violating Sections 121 and 127 of the Electoral Act (2022) which expressly forbid vote buying, said that it was regrettable that Adebutu had flagrantly violated laws meant to sanitize Nigeria's electoral process.

EventsRotary Should Continue To Inspire Women For Economic Growth- Alaba Lawson by Triton1996(op): 8:34am On May 22, 2023
A call has gone to Rotary International and indeed organisations around the country to consistently inspire and promote women for economic and national growth

The appeal was made by former President, Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Chief Alaba Lawson while presenting the keynote address at the first Rotary District 9110 Women in Rotary Conference held at the Nigeria Law School Auditorium, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Speaking on the topic “ The Transformational Woman: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion For Socio-Economic Change”, Chief Lawson stated that Rotary as an organization has made giant strides in the area of women empowerment and advised that the body should do more as it will ultimately lead to the nation’s growth.

She noted that women are the key to Nigeria’s economic and political advancement, and the more women involved at the top echelon and decision-making process, the better.

According to her“When more women work, economies grow. Women’s economic empowerment boosts productivity, increases economic diversification and income equality in addition to other positive development outcomes".

Describing women as the future, she stated that studies have shown that companies with more women on their boards outperform those without them by a significant margin, and organisations with greater gender diversity globally grew to 32% in 2022.

According to her, women often excel at soft skills required for business leadership and they represent a significant economic force and provide valuable consumer insight that any nation needs to thrive.

She further highlighted the fact that Nigeria needs traits such as ability to connect, collaborate, empathize, communicate and be prudent which are inherent in women to make progress in key sectors including economy, politics and more.

She, however, lamented that despite the fact that women are in the majority in terms of population, the opportunities for them to show their skills and contribute meaningfully have been hampered by systemic bottlenecks.

She therefore advised that to fuel its fire of progress and revolutionize its economic, political and social structure, women must be given adequate representation in government and key sectors of the economy.

Also speaking, Tax expert and management consultant, Mr Gbenga Badejo who spoke on “10 Top Financial Challenges for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises” noted that if women can overcome these challenges, they would be able to build formidable businesses and play in the big league.

He gave the challenges as: limited or inconsistent cashflow, not using budgetary control mechanism, no preparation for unforeseen expenses, not raising enough capital, too much debt, neglecting necessary financial reporting and book keeping, , poor regulatory compliance, mixing business and personal finances, poor marketing tactics and poor managing of receivables and payables.

Earlier in her welcome address, Rotarian Omotunde Lawson, District Governor, Rotary International District 9110 noted that the conference, the first in the 41 -year history of the District, which covers Rotary Clubs in Lagos and Ogun States, was aimed at equipping women with the right support for personal and financial growth.

CelebritiesMTN Top Executive, Lynda Saint-nwafor, Fingered In Actor, Saint Obi’s Death by Triton1996(op): 1:36pm On May 17, 2023
MTN Top Executive, Lynda Saint-Nwafor, Fingered In Veteran Actor, Saint Obi’s Death

TRIXX NG reports that Nigerian Tech-Commercial expert and the Chief Enterprise Business Officer at MTN Nigeria PLC, Lynda Saint-Nwafor has been fingered in the death of her ex-husband, Saint Obi, who is also a veteran actor.

In a revelation by a veteran actor, Zik Zulu Okafor, it was revealed that some of the thing that led to the illness of Saint Obi was caused by his ex-wife, Lynda Saint-Nwafor who allegedly maltreated him to the extent of keeping his children away from him.

In the lengthy revelation, Lynda Saint-Nwafor was accused of using her influence against Saint Obi and when her family members attacked the deceased actor, she supported them.
Read statement below

“His social life was blunted. Perhaps by his reticent disposition. His persona, two dimensional. To a distant public, he was upscale and cool.
His manly bearing spoke loud. His onscreen image ironically amplified some idiosyncrasies; heroics, romantic adventures and traits that did not gel with the mortal privacy that eerily define his quiet and lonely life.

“Saint Obi, real name, Obinna Nwafor, was shy, almost bordering on timidity and insecurity. He cherished the pleasantly tranquil interactions among a few friends. He would vanish at any outburst that could upset the poise of such small meetings. As he repeatedly told me, he just wanted to live a cool, quiet and fulfilled life. But, has he lived this cool and fulfilled life he envisioned ? I have my doubts.

“I tell Saint’s story here with painful tears in my eyes; because he was a star, a super star whose life turned out a gleam of irony . Yet, it was this stardom that fetched him his much professed financially strong and powerful wife . And their wedding, that solemn ritual of love, would drastically alter the cause of his life and tragically yank him off the creative community that threw him up for the wife to capture and indeed
conquer.

“Their marriage was at best a dramatisation of love. It was quick. He barely told us that he found a wife. Then, the marriage happened. It was something of a mystique, only those involved understood the histrionics that played out . None of us who were his closest pals, who walked with him through the crucible to the crest of his career in Nollywood, was invited. The distance between us and the guy I admirably called Saint of the Storm had begun. This gulf would widen with each year. We saw him perhaps once in a year after this marriage.

“And life actually seemed to have given him a fair shake of the dice. He dressed well, drove big cars and even his skin, in literal lingo, spelt wellness.

“The Saint would be blessed with three beautiful children. But not one occasion were his friends in Nollywood invited for christening or birthday. We were told that his wife was of the topmost hierarchy in telecom giant, MTN . But even if their celebrations were designed to be a rendezvous of the elites of the technocracies that his wife chiefly belonged, you expected that Saint would reach out to a few of his fellow creatives, for even if they would herald his small beginnings, there could be no tinge of shame to it because we all have our journeys and our stories. And even at that, the actor or cineaste in Nollywood is by no means poor.

“But more tragic is the fact that his marriage did not only take away Obinna from his friends, it took him away from Nollywood. Saint stopped acting, absconded from his career and perhaps his calling.

“It would seem prognostic now. Yes, because I recall leaving my house in Lagos Mainland for his massive office in Lekki, Victoria Island, Lagos. It was about six years ago. There, I demanded to know why my friend abandoned our industry. He told me with his usual shy expressions that he wanted to focus on some other businesses and also to work behind the camera. Because his visage was unconvincing to me, I told him in stark terms, that whatever his new vision and pursuits, he must not abandon the trade that made him who he was.

“It took another three years for Saint to return to his homies. But when he did, some of the deeply disappointed ones sniggered behind him.
This was because the simmering rumours of cracks in his marriage had hit home. And though secretive in his ways, he knew it was time to open up. And he did. “I do not know why my wife’s siblings see me as a gold digger. They confront me, harass and fight me in my own matrimony. And my wife did nothing to stop them. I work hard, I earn my money. I have never depended on my wife”, he lamented, eyes blurred with tears. You could tell he was in deep pain. By the next visit, the Saint returned with a deep cut from knife on his left eye. His wife’s brothers, he said, scaled the wall fence of their house to attack him. They were captured by hidden closed-circuit television, CCTV, installed for surveillance and security, he revealed.

“He reported them at the police station and subsequently acquired a gun to defend himself. This effectively marked the beginning of the end of his marriage and perhaps Saint Obi’s long walk to a sad end. He moved out of his marital home to a new house to begin the reconstruction of his destiny, alone without his wife and worse still without his three beautiful children.

“Meanwhile, his wife went to the police to defend her siblings using her financial power to manipulate the cause of justice, Saint stated unequivocally. The wife also sued for divorce, not in Lagos, but in Ogun state. As Saint put it, “It was to make the journey difficult for me. But I will not bend neither will I break. I will fight with my last blood to take custody of my children. They love me and they know it will be hard for me to live without them. The divorce is not an issue. My marriage has long been over”, he said with a mix of courage and a quaky heart that betrayed his distress.

“About mid last year, however, Obinna took ill. But he told no one. He simply became scarce. He was in and out of hospital, we would later learn. He sold two of his three big SUVs to take proper care of his health and to acquire six camry cars he’d use for Uber. But his vanishing health continued unabated. He seemed to have a premonition of his own passing as he wept repeatedly about not seeing his children. He emaciated. Life took a grim picture. When I saw him by chance in January 2023, the dude called Saint looked 15 years older than his age. His macho cut had shrunk. His fat wallet was gone. What was left was only his fat will. His eyes seemed lost in their socket. This would be the last time I would see him.

“Saint snuck out of Lagos to hang in with his sister in Jos. He told no one. But a month ago, in April precisely, the once delightful actor who brought joy to many a home broke his icy silence. He called our mutual friend in US to give him a devastating message. He was on a deathbed, he said and wanted our friend to pray for him. “It’s not looking good, pray, pray for me”, he appealed passionately.

“His next call came on May 1, 2023. This time to his mentor, the man who made him a star with his productions, Zeb Ejiro, OON. He told him with a wavering voice that he had had three surgeries but was still in hospital in Jos. He averred again that his situation was not looking good, that he is also in a deep pain, distressed that he could not see his children. But still he begged him not to tell anyone about his ailment. Such was the life of this creative hermit, a lonely trouper. I was the first to hear the news of his death late on Sunday, May 7. Having confirmed it, I called Zeb Ejiro.

“I have a very bad news my brother, Zeb”, I began.“What is it, what is it, Zik Zulu?”, he asked anxiously. “A big star has fallen in Nollywood”. Zeb broke down in tears. I hadn’t said who it was. But sobbing helplessly now, he said, “Don’t tell me it is Saint Obi”. Sadly, Zeb was right. May his soul find peace.”

CrimeLBIC MD, Tobi Lawal Called Out Over Allegation Of Bribery, Forceful Acquisition by Triton1996(op): 9:46pm On May 16, 2023
LBIC MD, Tobi Lawal Called Out Over Allegation Of Bribery, Forceful Acquisition Of Property ( photos)

The managing director of Lagos building investment company, Mr Tobi Lawal has been called out over allegations bothering on bribery, forceful acquisition of property, name dropping amongst other things.

In a message addressed to him which is made available to us, Bricktop Development and Advisory accused Mr Tobi Lawal of requesting bribes for an apartment which his company constructed under a JV with LBIC.

According to him, among the 16 buildings at Abike Court located at No 1, Rev. Ogunbiyi GRA, Ikeja Lagos, 11 apartments belong to him while the state agency owns five. Interestingly, Mr Tobi Lawal who is allegedly using one Lanre Obisesan as proxy demanded for one of Bricktop’s apartments as a bribe’. This was met with stiff opposition and sadly, Mr Tobi was alleged to have used his position to forcefully break into the apartment and damage it with an attempt to acquire it.

Mr Tobi and his proxy, Lanre Obisesan are alleged of name-dropping bragging with the governor's name to forcefully take people’s property, claiming it belongs to them while they didn't pay a dime.

“ Infact, he is extremely arrogant and proud and i am sure even the governor didn't know his worth. It's because of such characters like this that the performing governor of Lagos state almost lost his second term bid during the election. He is fond of using head of parastatal to perpetrate his acts and I advised them to get directives from the governor before listening to him. I also enjoined the IG and the CP to investigate the police he took along for his operations like this".
Here is a copy of the message Bricktop Development And Advisory sent To Him:

Good evening Mr Tobi Lawal.
I trust you have had a splendid day so far.
I note your incessant request for a bribe of an apartment in Abike Court, which my company constructed under a JV with LBIC. Please note that aside from my aversion to bribing public officers for the discharge of their duties, the rise in the costs of building materials occasioned astronomical change in the budget for the construction of Abike Court. Consequently, it is practically and ethically impossible for me to pay you the requested bribe of one apartment in Abike Court(No,1 Rev Ogunbiyi Gra Ikeja Lagos)

I hope you understand my position and will not resort to malicious campaigns against the project and my person in government circles. I do reserve all my rights in this regard.

Kogi State Government Raises Alarm Over Inciting News Ahead Of Governorship Election

The Kogi state government under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello has raised an alarm over plans to incite the public with fake news against the goverment ahead of the gubernatorial election.

In a statement signed by the commissioner for information, Kingsley Fanwo, the people were warned against paying attention to such statements while describing them as fake and an attempt to destroy the unity of the state.

He made it known that some politicians are behind the fake information targeted against the person of Governor Yahaya Bello who has done everything in his capacity to unite the state.

Read statement below:

KOGI STATE PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

BEWARE OF FAKE AND INCITING NEWS AHEAD OF KOGI GUBER ELECTION

1. The Kogi State Government wishes to draw the attention of the general public to the antics of mischief makers and ethnic bigots to stoke the flames of ethnic resentment, division and hate by agents of political desperation who are bent on destroying the unity and peace enjoyed by the State.

2. Their unintelligent approach has been to push ethnically divisive words and attribute same to Governor Yahaya Bello in order to incite certain ethnic groups against his person and his administration. These statements are not only false, but also an ignominy of dragging our state back to the conquered era of ethnic chauvinism.
Governor Yahaya Bello through his actions, projects, appointments and unifying leadership credentials, has succeeded in building the state into what politics cannot balkanize. We remain a united and prosperous state.

3. We urge members of the public to look out for, and ignore those inciting falsehoods as well as report those who circulate them to law enforcement agencies. It is clearly the handiwork of politicians who do not have the interest of the state at heart.

4. Until his last day in office, Governor Yahaya Bello will continue to work hard to improve livelihood in the state, keep the people united and continue to serve all Kogites irrespective of their religion, ethnicity and political beliefs. What binds us together is stronger than the desperate wishes of the enemies of the state.

Signed: Kingsley Fanwo

“Petro Union Cheque is a Forgery,” British Crime Detective informs court

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has closed its case in a £2.6 billion alleged fraud charge slammed on an oil firm, Petro Union Oil and Gas Limited, a consultant to the company and three of its directors.

The Consultant is Abayomi Kukoyi (Trading under the name and style of Gladstone Kukoyi & Associates), while the company’s directors on trial are Prince Kingsley Okpala, Prince Chidi Okpalaeze and Prince Emmanuel Okpalaeze

While closing its case before Justice Mohammed Liman of the Federal High Court in Lagos on Friday, the anti-graft agency called its last witness, Nathaniel John Webb, a senior investigative officer at the National Crime Agency (NCA) in the United Kingdom.

Giving his evidence before the court, Detective Sergeant Webb told Justice Liman that the NCA was assigned to investigate the activities and status of the two firms, Gazeaft Ltd and Goldmatic Ltd, that were allegedly used by the defendants to perpetrate the crime.

The witness also informed the court how he made enquiries at Barclays Bank in London on the status of these two firms and found out that they have both been been wound up and the accounts closed in 1987 and 1989 respectively. He further told the court that when the cheque for £2.6 billion drawn on Gazeaft Limited was presented to Union Bank for clearing in 1994, the company and its account at Barclay’s Bank were not in existence. He also told the court that there was no evidence of the lodgement of the £2.6 billion cheque at Barclays Bank at any time during the existence of Gazeaft Limited and while the account was in existence.

Earlier, an investigative officer with the EFCC, Suleiman Yusuf, had also testified in the matter. In his evidence-in-chief, Sulaiman told the court that he was part of the team that arrested the defendants.

"I am one of the team that investigated this matter. We investigated the matter as a team, and I played many roles at the time. During the investigation, the National Crime Agency (NCA) in the United Kingdom was contacted for enquiries on the two firms used in perpetrating the fraud", the witness said. The report of the investigation of the NCA was sent to the Attorney-General of the Federation and has been tendered as evidence before the court”.

Following the conclusion of EFCC's case, the defence lawyers informed the court that their clients would be filing a no case submission.

The EFCC had on 27th January 2021 re-arraigned the four Directors on a 13-count charge of alleged £2.6 billion fraud. They were earlier on February 13, 2020, arraigned by the anti-graft agency on a 7-count charge bordering on the alleged offence. The defendants' trial subsequently resumed after they all pleaded not guilty to the amended charge.

One of the counts against the defendants read as thus:

"That you Petro Union Oil and Gas Limited, Prince Isaac Okpala (now deceased), Abayomi Kukoyi, Prince Kingsley Okpala, Prince Chidi Okpalaeze, Prince Emmanuel Okpalaeze and Princess Gladys Okpalaeze (now at large) on or about 29th December, 1994 within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court fraudulently procured a Barclays Bank cheque dated 29th December, 1994 in the sum of £2,556,000,000.00 made payable to Gladstone Kukoyi and Associates, purporting the said cheque to be meant for foreign investment in the construction of 3 refineries and petrochemical complex in Nigeria, when you knew that the said cheque to be false and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 1(2) (a) of the Miscellaneous Offences Act, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 1990 and punishable under same Section".

Further hearing in the matter has been adjourned to June 21 for the hearing of the defendants' no case submission.

Taraba Gov-elect, Dr. Agbu Kefas Employing A Different Approach To Governance

By Oluwatosin Alex

Governance in Nigeria may have been a one-way traffic affair but the governor-elect of Taraba state, Dr. Agbu Kefas is moving away from the norms and employing a different approach to governance.

When politicians get elected into office, it is a normal thing for them to travel out of the country or hid themselves from the public in order to rest as a result of the stressful campaign period. The 2023 presidential and governorship election wasn’t in any way different; even the president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed left the country and just returned a few days ago.

For Agbu Kefas, the period between election victory and inauguration isn’t to relax but to prepare for the tedious job of governance in order to have a smooth running. Agbu Kefas understands that the office of a governor isn’t one you can learn while on the job, you must make yourself ready in all areas before you step into the dignified office.
Immediately after he was elected, Dr. Agbu Kefas called on the opposition and those who lost the election to work with him and join hands together for the sake of Taraba. Almost every opposition candidate visited him in his home after recognizing that indeed, the governor-elect is more interested in the progress of the state than his personality.

The governor-elect quickly swung into action towards his mission for the state which include Education, healthcare, women and youth empowerment, security, peace and unity, economy, and job creation. He realized there was no point in waiting till he is inaugurated before moving to the action stage. Just a few days after his victory, Dr. Agbu Kefas started meeting with investors and stakeholders who are like-minds and are willing to get involved in the progress of Taraba state.

Dr. Agbu Kefas didn’t limit his search for and meetings with investors to Taraba state alone; he went across the country and even outside the shores of Africa to pitch his plans to them for the sake of Taraba state. So far, many of them have agreed to invest in Taraba state.

Different from the norms, Dr. Agbu Kefas is likely to instate his cabinet members within his first month in office because he has been working behind the scene toward selecting the best hands. At the moment, about 90% of his commissioners, and personal aides have been selected based on their abilities, skills, and commitment to make Taraba state progress.

The governor-elect of Taraba state, Agbu Kefas has gotten involved in activities that sincerely portray him as one who is ready to hit the ground running. It’s surprising that the governor-elect is actively involved in the process of meeting investors and selecting his cabinet members.

Among others, Dr. Agbu Kefas is sure to have the smoothest-running government on account of his preparedness. Taraba state is truly blessed to have Governor-elect, Agbu Kefas, who is taking governance with a totally different approach.

GENERAL BURATAI IN THE EQUATION OF INSECURITY DOWNPLAY IN TINUBU'S GOVERNMENT

BY

FEMI OYEWALE

As Nigeria prepares for a fresh phase in its democratic existence on May 29, 2023, a peaceful environment for socio-economic and cultural growth has, yet again, become a critical issue in the mix. This is essentially so because the country, unarguably reputed as one of the biggest markets for raw and finished goods on earth, attracts humans of all kinds to its geographical space. Incidentally and over the years, anti-democratic forces in collaboration with fifth columnists, constituted themselves into national security nuisance, disrupting activities across sectors.

As of mid-2022, the orchestrated violence has cost the country 11% of its GDP and N119 billion loss of revenue. Similarly, projects worth about N12 trillion have been abandoned according to data from Town Talk Solutions. Looking ahead, these challenging scenarios, Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All-Progressive Congress, APC, now President-Elect, had, in October 2022, unveiled his presidential agenda where he prioritized security. Titled "Renewed Hope 2023 – Action Plan for a Better Nigeria," Tinubu affirmed that he would continue with the social investment programmes of the Buhari-led administration.

The President-Elect equally added that total transformation of Nigeria can be achieved, building on the foundation laid by the APC administration of President Buhari. Specifically, he emphasized that security is the “bedrock of a prosperous and democratic society”, assuring that his administration would make it a fundamental responsibility to protect the life and property of its citizens by mobilizing the country’s national security, military and law enforcement assets to protect all Nigerians from danger and the fear of danger.

“The current government has made important inroads. When it came into office, the Buhari government met a situation in which terrorists had planted their flags and claimed Nigerian territory as their own. “The Buhari government eliminated these incursions against our national sovereignty, bringing peace to many areas. Thousands of formerly displaced people have returned home to rebuild their lives,” Tinubu disclosed. However, and interestingly so, General Tukur Yusufu Buratai (rtd), was the arrowhead of the team that helped President Buhari's government to achieve these significant successes in the reduction of insurgency which Tinubu has promised to build upon.

Essentially, the pre-Buhari government was a session of anger in the land where nihilism became the official dictum through organized terrorism. The peace in Nigeria’s capital, Abuja, was displaced by vengeful, omnidirectional hatred. On assumption of office in 2015, this ugly situation provoked President Buhari to employ a trusted and tested General to change the insecurity narrative in Nigeria. Lieutenant General Yusufu Tukur Buratai (rtd), was widely recommended on account of his outstanding military pedigree. He was, unarguably, the pick of the pack. And he became the Chief of Army Staff in July 2015. Buratai hit the ground running and soldiered on.

Despite distractions ostensibly by segmented bashings from some misinformed stakeholders and sections of the human rights groups who orchestrated hugely unsubstantiated allegations, Buratai continued in a most commendable fashion. He provided leadership and inspired the troops to work harder through dedicated strategies.

Notably, Buratai intelligently enhanced Army-Civilian relationship with the Northeast populace including other parts of Nigeria as a major step that turned the tables against insurgents during his time. He reinvigorated joint civil-military operations, comprising all operational formations of the Services with a central coordination Headquarters which coordinated civil and humanitarian activities. These strategies greatly assisted the joint force commander.

Humanitarian, national-assistance operations, theatre campaigns and civil-military operations worked concurrently and cohesively. With these strategies, the military under Buratai sustained the tempo of operations and kept up the aggressive assaults on insurgents as well as enhanced collaboration and synergy with other sister agencies.

Towards the last half of 2020, the bandits had been overwhelmed. They were calling for negotiations through some prominent individuals. This was as a result of the pressure mounted on the bandits. Many of their fighters, collaborators, logistic suppliers and informants were neutralised, captured or escaped out of the country for safety.

By the time Buratai left office in early 2021, the remnants of the Boko Haram insurgents have been confined to the fringes of the Lake Chad Basin region, with no territory under their control and largely carrying out hit-and-run skirmishes.

Curiously, President Buhari beckoned yet again for “Another important assignment”, a few days after Buratai ended his selfless service in January 2021. The former Chief of Army Staff was faithfully obliged to take part, as fully as he can, in any measure designed, in particular, to keep the constituent ethnic units in the federation of Nigeria as one as well as preserve Nigeria as an economic and political entity. But, this time, through diplomatic channels.

The President’s brief was clear and straightforward forward, especially from the already well-known international influence, funding and support for the insurgency in Nigeria. Given his deep understanding of the President’s intentions because of his direct involvement in counter-insurgency operations for a reasonable length of years as Army boss, Buratai easily subsumed into Buhari’s tactical design to secure Nigeria’s borders through neighbouring countries as an ambassador.

He particularly felt it would be untidy of him to abdicate such responsibility when the war against insurgency was yet over.
He reckoned that there was an important need to reinforce service chiefs’ efforts from the outside through diplomatic push and support. Expectedly, his resumption at the Republic of Benin as Ambassador was the needed signal to smugglers of arms and architects of economic sabotage that the game was over.

He reawakened all the unused diplomatic regulations including bilateral relations in line with the science and philosophy of international laws to ensure appropriate diplomatic steps were deployed without infringement on fundamental rights. He injected fresh directives into their operational codes, maintaining that never again should the border become the hub of economic sabotage and illegal arms snuggling.

Just in his early 60s, it is morning yet for Buratai in national service. His unmatched professionalism, military skills and understanding of Nigeria's security issues blended with diplomatic knowledge perfectly recommend him for the Defence portfolio in Tinubu's government.

How Governor-elect, Agbu Kefas Will Tackle Insecurity In Taraba State By Oluwatosin Alex

For many years, Taraba state has been at the mercy of unknown gunmen, terrorists, kidnappers, and different groups causing unrest in the state.

The ordinary citizens in Taraba state have not been sleeping with their two eyes closed while government officials employ the services of security operatives to protect them for the deadly stings of terrorism. It’s not out of point to state that No one is safe in Taraba state.
Insecurity in the northern part of the country is indeed a nuisance that has become a stigma for the division. Other states in the north apart from Taraba state are suffering from the vice that seem to be unconquerable. Several lives have been lost, many have been rendered homeless, and properties have gone down the drain, as a result of this evil called insecurity.

In order to fulfil his promise to the people of Taraba state, Dr. Agbu Kefas, who is a security expert, has created sustainable plans to surmount insecurity and make Taraba state safe for all once again. Agbu Kefas is a retired colonel and during his service years, He recorded great success in restoring peace to places that were fully the zones of terrorists.

Dr. Agbu Kefas served in the Niger Delta region and as deadly as the region was, the governor-elect through his security expertise and experience, was able to bring terrorism to a halt in the region.

In the same vein, Dr. Agbu Kefas will be exploring his many years of experience as a security expert to tackle insecurity in Taraba state.
Dr. Agbu Kefas believes in collaboration of security operatives as it helps to end terrorism within a short period of time. He has planned to lead a coalition among the Nigerian army, the Nigeria police force and NSCDC for the purpose of defeating insecurity in Taraba state. Apart from the conventional security operatives, Dr. Agbu Kefas will be employing the services of security personalities well-trained in the use of technology to locate terrorist hide-outs and capture them with digital weapons.

Dr. Agbu Kefas has huge plans for the people of Taraba and bringing an end to terrorism is one of his priorities.

Popular Nigerian musician, Funmi Ayinke has received two luxurious vehicles as a gift ahead of her 40th Birthday celebration coming up on May 27, 2023.

She made it known that when she gave out the car to the pastor, many of her workers felt something was wrong with her even though she is used to giving out her belongings to people. She mentioned that her husband couldn’t hold his amazement when he discovered that she gave out such an exotic car to a pastor.

Funmi Ayinke who shared the news to encourage people to give explained that her workers also witnessed the delivery of the gifts in her office.

Read statement below

Let me tell you something about obedience to God...... The truth is that when instruction comes, it is always not easy to let go but upon obeying God, your life can never remain the same.
God laid it to my heart to release one of my cars worth 25m to a man of God not knowing that has been his prayer request for more than three months now.
I discussed with my staff that the vehicle was not lost but I gave it as God directed me.
Some of them look at me like really? Some kept quiet because they had given up on me, my husband asked me if he hoped one day, God will not ask me to give him out... Bla bla
I was not moved by whatever they said, I held on to my faith and the word of God that said "Blessed is she that believeth for there shall be a performance of those things that God had spoken".
Today, all my staff witnessed the testimony of the second vehicle that was brought in today as my birthday gift coming up on May 27. #chapter40
Whether we like it or not, To stay in the light is far better than compromising your faith.
I appeal to you all, not to give up on trusting God. I just want you to serve God in all obedience.
It is too late for FunmiAyinke to give up because my life testimonies cannot be comprehended when I start to share them here.
I had to share this one so that each time you get to your crossroad of doubting God, You will always remember FUNMIAYINKE.
PLEASE NEVER DOUBT GOD.

PoliticsLagos Assembly Stops Salaries Of Government Appointees Without House Approval by Triton1996(op): 5:15pm On Apr 11, 2023
- Summons HoS, Accountant-General, Commissioner

- orders withdrawal of appointment letters to affected appointees
The Lagos State House of Assembly on Tuesday ordered the withdrawal of letters given to government appointees whose nominations should have been sent to the House for their screening and confirmation, but who took up the jobs without the due process.
The House also ordered immediate halting of salaries and remunerations enjoyed by the affected government appointees pending their appearances before the House. The Assembly further summoned three top officials over the issue.

Those summoned include the Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, the Accountant-General of the State, Dr. Abiodun Muritala, and the state's Commissioner for Establishment, Mrs. Ajibola Ponnle.
In a 'Matter of Urgent Public Importance' brought before the House by Hon. Noheem Adams, Deputy Majority Leader, the lawmakers lamented the increasing situation where supposed nominees of the governor continue to work without being screened and confirmed by the House Speaker Mudashiru Obasa, who presided at the sitting, agreed with the lawmakers that appointments of that nature without recourse to the House amounted to infractions.

"I quite agree with all of you that the failure of such nominees to appear is an infraction or violation of the laws of this House, especially as it relates to the MDAs, most of which were established by the laws of this House," Dr. Obasa said adding that the laws of the House of Assembly have statutory provisions that nominees of the governor must appear for confirmation.

"It is becoming common and regular and if we fail to act now, it becomes a norm. I share your sentiments that there is a need for us to put a stop to this. I am aware of the development in the Audit Commission, I am aware of the one in the Law Reform Commission and now the Auditor-General and some others," he said

Raising the issue earlier, Hon. Adams cited Section 196, subsection 2; Section 198 and Section 126, subsection 3 which give backing to the House of Assembly in respect of nominations by the governor for appointments.
"Section 126, subsection 3 provides that except with the resolution of a State Assembly, no person shall act in the office of the Auditor-General for a state for a period exceeding six months.

"As the chairman, House committee on legislative compliance, I have observed that some appointments to boards and other agencies were not brought to this noble House. If this persists, the principle of separation of powers will be in jeopardy.
"For example, the Auditor-General was appointed on the September 22, 2022 and today is April 11, 2023," Adams said adding that the Auditor-General's appointment in acting capacity had exceeded what the laws stipulate.
Supporting Adams, Hon. Ademola Kasunmu said the stipulations of Section 198 should be strictly adhered to. He added that because such appointments are considered null and void, every remuneration that had gone out, should be returned to the coffers of the State.

Speaking on the same matter, Hon. Victor Akande observed that the situation happened in the judiciary where an appointment was done without recourse to the House and the due process.

Hon. Sa'ad Olumoh lamented that such appointments without regard for the House were becoming too many.

"Separation of power is a doctrine enshrined in the constitution. The executive has the right to nominate people and the House has the responsibility to either confirm or reject such nominations.

"It is not only in the office of the Auditor-General, but I don't know in what capacity one can act beyond the time limit without recourse to the House," he said while urging the House to look at the issue holistically so as to put an end to what could cause issues later.

Hon. Rotimi Olowo, who noted the difference between nomination and appointment, lamented: "Today, we have a lot of people parading themselves with many names without appearing before this House for clearance. It should not be a padi-padi thing. This is a constitutional matter and if we do not adhere, we would end up facing the wrought of the people."

He said it was an infraction to have people who are not cleared by the House receiving salaries and "I am of the opinion that such money is supposed to be returned to the coffers."

Hon. Desmond Elliot called on the House to act in a way to curtail any future occurrence while Hon. Femi Saheed suggested that "in line with the constitution, anyone acting outside the stipulated time must recourse to the House."

He further suggested that the Head of Service be made to appear before the House to clear himself over the issue.
