Two cousins, aged 9 and 15, today, drowned while swimming inside a river at Marine Base, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The bodies of the duo identified as Wisdom and Good luck, were later retrieved and taken to the Nigerian Police Clinic, where they were confirmed dead.

According to the lady who was heard saying the man sitting next to her tried to touch her right breast which the man denied and called her "Demented Demon"

Another trigger happy policeman shoot one Odeh Stephen, dead today in Ahoad, East West road in Bayelsa State.

Odeh, a driver at the Ekeki Modern motor park, was reported shoot by a policeman from Nigeria Police Force, attached to Ahoad Area Command.

He hails Sagbama, Bayelsa State.

Two suspected armed robbers were burnt to death by a mob at Akerior in Ushongo local government area in Benue state on Wednesday April 3rd.

According to reports, the robbers were apprehended while attempting to rob an Igbo trader popularly known as CK. The suspects who were three in number, rode on a motorcycle. While two were apprehended and lynched, one of them managed to escape.

A locally made automatic rifle with rounds of ammunition was recovered from them and has been handed over to the police.

Former Nigeria, West Brom and Stoke striker Osaze Odemwingie announced his retirement from football at UEFA’s Equal Game conference at Wembley on Wednesday.

The 37-year-old was capped for Nigeria more than 60 times, scoring at the 2014 World Cup, and scored 36 goals in 129 Premier League appearances between 2010 and 2016.

Odemwingie was the subject of a peculiar story on Deadline Day in January 2013.

Believing he was moving to QPR from West Brom, the striker drove to Loftus Road, only to be refused entry to the stadium after both clubs said that no fee had been agreed.

On his retirement, Odemwingie was quoted as saying by Skysports, “It’s an emotional day, so many memories go through your head.

“I didn’t know how to do it or where to do it, but I think this is the right place to do it.

“Wembley is a place with a lot of history in football.”

Odemwingie, whose last professional appearances came for Indonesian side Madura United in 2017, said he intends to embark on a coaching career.

“The next chapter is slowly building up to a coaching career and hopefully I will be coaching in the Premier League one day,” he said.

Member of a robbery gang in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, was shot dead by his colleague while they were sharing their loot of the day.

It was gathered that on 18th February 2019 a six-man robbery gang led by one Ogilivie who is still at large burgled a house and stole a generator plant which they sold.

Reports learnt that in the course of sharing the money, one of the robbers, Gielaemi Ben ‘m’ 19 yrs, protested that he was given the smaller amount and the principal suspect, Oginivie, shot him dead afterwards.

The shot robber reportedly slumped and died immediately, a development, which caused confusion for other colleagues, who had no choice than to abandoned him there and fled the scene.

According to CP Sholla David, the Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State Command, in course of the investigation, a team of policemen caught with one of the suspects, Isaac Organ, was later arrested in Yenagoa after a fierce shootout with the police.

“In the course of the investigation, operatives went to arrest one of the suspects, Isaac Ogan, who engaged the Police in a shoot-out. He was shot on the leg, and a locally made pistol was recovered from him.

“The other suspects Victor Meremunya ‘m’ 30 yrs, Pereowei Ibiagbe ‘m’ 23years, Tibolayefa Louis ‘m’ 23years, Gift Samuel age 22years have been arrested and detained, while the principal suspect Ogilivie is at large.”

Three students of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, (FUTO) were found dead at at a hostel on Tuesday, after an alleged drug orgy. The fourth student, a female, is reportedly currently unconscious at the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Owerri.

According to reports, the four students were found onTuesday at Sunshine Castle Hostel, Umuchima at ihiagwa Community, Owerri North LGA, Imo state. They had been reportedly taking a mixture of tramadol, codeine, vodka and India hemp.

Two reportedly died instantly whle the only lady amongst them and another male student were found unconcious and immediately moved to Federal Medical Centre Owerri and placed on life support there. The male student later died at the hospital, leaving only the lady unconscious.

Reports claim all four of them were found naked, one was with a bathing soap in his hand, the other lying on top of the lady. The room was filled with bottles of codeine, packets of tramadol, India hemp and vodka and other drugs.

Police men arrived at the hotel on Wednesday morning to take away the dead bodies and also arrest the lodge caretaker. Currently most occupants of the lodge have vacated the premises for fear of being arrested.

A young lady has gone missing after travelling to Abeokuta to meet a guy she met online. The man she claims she was going to visit has denied knowledge of her or her whereabouts.

The lady, named Debby, told her friends that she was going to visit a man named Ayo. She gave them his name and phone number and informed them that she met him online. She asked that if they do not hear from her, they should contact him.


The woman has not been heard from since she left for the man's house and her friends have contacted Ayo as she instructed. But Ayo has denied knowledge of the woman and proceeded to block all the woman's friends.

Police in Khanna, India on Monday, March 25, arrested a Nigerian woman identified as Gift Amadi after recovering 696gm of heroin from her possession.

Khanna SSP Dhruv Dahiya said that as part of police's special campaign against drug trafficking, a police patrol team arrested the Nigerian national at Nakabandi near Pristine Mall, G. T Road"

"Under the guidelines of Sh. Dhruv Dahiya IPS, SSP/Khanna, Sh Mukesh Kumar PPS, SP/OCCO/Khanna, Sh. Manjit Singh PPS, DSP, & Insp. Anwar Ali SHO/Sadar/Khanna's SI Bakshish Singh alongwith police party have recovered 696 Gms of Heroin & arrested the foreigner accused (a Nigerian woman), during the Nakabandi near Pristine Mall G.T Road (Alour) Khanna." says a statement on Khanna official Facebook page.
