It's a nonsensical and hypocritic comment.

Firstly, every religion has principles and regulations. If you're not ready to abide by them then you leave. Simple. At least, you should learn to take correction or at least take an L when your attention is called.

Secondly, people have the freedom to criticise whoever does something wrong in their opinion especially if it has to do with their common interest.

Thirdly, you're not a Muslim so what's your business with Muslim matter?

Bearded mumu.

Less is more... When you talk too much, you begin to make banal comments and end up aggravating issues. She should have been more succinct in her video defense or rebuttal instead of saying a lot of in needless stuff.

Even right on the UK and United States home soils, if you say something that violates minimum standards in Islamic teachings, the fundamentalists in the UK and U.S will attack and harm you with a knife or you could get shot. It's happened in the past.. So, she should just stay low wherever she is from here on out.

However, I've known for many years now (despite not being a Muslim) that dancing in videos to Islamic songs is not allowed Islam.

It's good to be aware of international etiquettes so that you don't inadvertently violate the cultures and religions of others around the world when traveling or when making TV ads.

Who do you like this? So Davido sings Islamic songs? A clown and more.

This is nonsense

Why 7 days? Why not 48 hours?

This means If you do not have light for 6 days straight but have 20 hours light on the 7th day with this repeated every other week, you will still be classed as Band A.

Try to read and understand na

How does this mean same thing with your message

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has ordered all distribution companies (DisCos) to automatically downgrade any Band A feeder that does not enjoy the minimum requirement of 20 hours per day power supply for seven consecutive days.

Opay valuation that is based on a single analyst perception.

Family / Re: House Clearance Sales.. Come In Here!!!! by Trojan8(m): 10:25am On Mar 30
Nigerians have a very annoying attitude and following basic rules is a problem. Yet, we keep blaming our leaders.

The thread is for CLEARANCE SALES. If you post an item the public feels is not reflective of what a clearance sale should look like, it's normal for them to call you out.

Since it's your item and you don't want to be called out. Why don't you create your own thread and advertise your item there? It's foolishness to try to sell a clearance sale item for profits because exchange rate has depreciated then argue when people call you out for it. Nobody is saying that you shouldn't profit from your stuff, but why can't you market it elsewhere?

I would come online looking for what to buy, only to see three pages of nonsense arguments because someone can't follow something so basic.

Business / Re: N500b Capital Base: Capital Needed By Commercial Banks With International Spread by Trojan8(m): 11:08pm On Mar 29
43Ronin:

This is just textbook definitions. The economies of scale in mergers benefit mostly manufacturing companies or commerce based companies. Banks are service companies and their economies of scale might even be negatively affected because costs have doubled with staff having duplicate functions. Below is a disadvantage of mergers according to CFI- the owners of CFA certification. Now who's illiterate

Keyword aggressive merger. There's no guarantee this would happen like that. Plus this requirement has levels to it. International, National and Regional. All banks know their levels and I personally feel that we won't see a lot of mergers.

The goal has always been to increase the capital base of our banks so they can be able to absorb shocks. If you look at the fact that the last recapitalization was done in 2008, then you would know this is long overdue. Infact naira and dollar exchange then was barely 100 naira to $1, you know the rate today. Why would I need a Nigerian bank to be valued at $1m in 2008 and rn that's less than $100k, doesn't make any sense. So this is a welcomed development. It's not even supposed to make noise because most banks have been waiting for this.

The only headache most banks have rn is the fact retained earnings was exempted otherwise it would have been a walk in the park for them. Best bet is to start pumping market price. If I need 100m GT bank shares to achieve this recapitalization. I would find a way to double my share price so I would need half of it to make it happen thereby reducing dilution.

I honestly don't see why the Cardoso administration is being dragged for doing what Emefiele should have done. It's needed and very much necessary.

Because banks would have to pass it to customers, don’t u agree?

I’m not illiterate. The fiscal system is still in its infancy, monetary tool of selling bonds and increasing interest rate are being deployed.

Asking banks for recapitalisation which CBN knows they will pass to customers is another subtle way of mopping up liquidity.

In reality, you can maneuver a definition that looks like this is to mop up liquidity and it can work but in reality you use debt instruments to do that. When you use instruments, you can guide those that you expect to subscribe to them hence mopping up liquidity.

When you ask banks to expand capital base, you don't exactly control where they source for funds which could make the desire to mop liquidity impossible. Say Access bank finally meet this recapitalization via foreign investment, would you say that the goal to mop up liquidity from the system was achieved? Meanwhile, if you were to issue Tbills via auction you know exactly who's buying.

43Ronin:

Ok Mr smart man, what is the essence of the recapitalization and why exclude BDCs and micro-finance banks from it? I was going to take on you further but when you said capital appreciation I realised that you are an illiterate. Access bank share price was 9.75 on 1st January 2014 now it stands at 10. How much was appreciated for someone who invested 10 million 10 years ago? What is now the value of his 10.75m in our present economy? Would he have made more money investing his 10 mill in maybe a landed property or even FG issued bonds at 13% p.a? You are financially illiterate to even discuss with me.

You do recapitalization to boost a banks ability to generate funds and also withstand adverse economic conditions. This is hinged on their position as a deposit bank, that hold funds on behalf of the public. MFBs have a required capital base because they function as banks do albeit in a lower capacity. Now, what characteristics do BDCs have for the CBN to ask for recapitalization lol?

How do you use recapitalization to mop up liquidity? Please stop saying shit you don't know.
Business / Re: N500b Capital Base: Capital Needed By Commercial Banks With International Spread by Trojan8(m): 5:30pm On Mar 29
Bennycollins:
I understand they all have to recapitalise over a period of two years. That is a long enough time. They just have to cut cost, maximize their PATs and retain much of the earnings over two trading periods and they are done. They may not necessarily resort to M&A.
Yes retrenchment may come in, the only drawback I see here, and maybe reduced dividends payouts.

The recapitalization excercise does not factor in retained earnings which is why most banks would be looking outward. If the entire shareholders fund including retained earnings was the basis of this recapitalization then most international banks won't have any issue. So trying to boost retained earnings is not the way to go.

The way to go rn is to ramp up share prices on the bourse, so that they won't have to issue too many shares that would dilute earnings. Or try to get FDI to come in.

Check the valuation well. It's true that Opay has a higher valuation than Zenith Bank.

Take it or leave it, it's a two (2) year myth that has stunned the industry.

Opay is an international country with major presence in Nigeria. As such it's business cuts across a global space. The valuation captures it's total Global Assets.

Valuation is an excel work that was done by an analyst especially for an unquoted company. If I take the valuation you gave, then Opay is the biggest company in Nigeria and that's a big joke.

Talking about global assets like if I ask you to mention them, you would. In reality, most of the FUGAZ have branches that extends globally. So tell me, how's Opay more valuable? Access is about to buy one of the biggest banks in Kenya. Yet according to you, Opay with almost zero physical presence is Nigeria or Africa is like 10x bigger. Please na.

Valuation is different from shareholders fund. Plus most Fintech coys have stupid valuation that defies logic. Explain to me why Access bank with a valuation of 821bn is lower than Opay. What structures that does Opay have to justify such valuation?

Happened under the watch of Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, then CBN Governor.

Aside the top five banks, the rest fall under national and regional cadre with a small capital requirement. The 500bn is for international banks which most do not fall under, I believe we won't see a loads of M&A. Just crazy rush to increase capital size, most likely route is FDI.

While I would have loved to blame you for kicking her out of your house by that time, the fact that she had the guts to ask you for tfare shows that she doesn't rate you. I mean, I told you that I lost money, needed you for something which you couldn't do for me, yet you still want me to give you tfare back home. Where did you find such a broke and entitled person? So she left her house knowing fully well what you wanted and didn't have the decency to take something with her for her transport. Lol

Just like Peter Obi, The Telcos will ignore the idiot.

Nigeria and Airtel are traded companies in Nigeria, they have more Nigerian owners than Glo.
MTN is the highest tax payer in Nigeria.
Glo owes everybody, vendors, contractors, govt agencies, other Telcos etc the facts speaks for itself

checkout their CSR, Glo invest in celebrities, MTN invest on the masses, schools, markets and healthcare, they are even building roads I learnt - https://www.nairaland.com/7898136/mtn-nigeria-begins-reconstruction-enugu-onitsha

The Idiot have his first family in the US, his second family in the UK.. he dont practice what he preach.

People like Reno want to burn the country down, the security agencies, Tax agencies need hunt him down.

Subsea cables belonging to main Nigerian companies gets damaged, one wasn't and that was Glo. multiple Nigerian companies like Mainone are struggling to fix the cable issues, but this retard thinks it's time to use such disaster to demarket brands.

internet issues affected more than half the countries in Africa, SA and Lesotho were quick to switch as they had multiple alternatives.

Does this idiot even know that the destroyed cables belongs to Mainone a Nigerian company that supply connectivity to several African countries? should the countries also ditch Mainone since its not their country owned?

who has bewitched this fool? I hope Mainone, Bayobab and co are able to sort out the issue as quickly as possible.

This retard needs to be tamed and fast before he mislead the teenagers and unlearned that follows him

Finally, a sensible and objective NLder. It's crazy how people see sense in what Reno is saying. There's a lot to say about the nonsense he has penned down, but I honestly don't know where to start.
