Politics › Sit-At-Home: We’re Dying Of Hunger, Anambra Artisans Lament by trutharena(op): 7:07pm On Jan 21, 2022
Traders and artisans in Awka, the Anambra State capital are lamenting the effects of the sit-at-home order by the banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) saying it is destroying the economy of the South East.

According to them, since the commencement of the sit-at-home, they hardly meet their family needs and they are going hungry.

IPOB had declared every Monday and any other day Nnamdi Kanu, the IPOB leader appears before court as sit-at-home as part of moves to compel the federal government to release their leader.

A widow, Mrs Ngozi Ude, who fries bean cake (akara) in Awka told Daily Trust that she has been frying bean cake over the years to cater for her family.

She said she catered for her family needs since the death of her husband five years ago from the little daily income she makes.

“In the last three days, everyone was forced inside the house without food, my family is seriously suffering, we cannot eat as we live on daily sales and income,” she lamented.

Another trader, Mr Chuks Obasi, who deals in second-hand bags said most of them are living on daily income, noting that any day they do not open shops, they will suffer.

He said the sit at home in the South East is taking a serious toll on families and there is need to look into the matter and save the poor in the zone from the avoidable pains.

“Since Monday till today I have not been to shop, since then, we have exhausted all the money and food in our house.

“This sit-at-home has destroyed our family life. It has also destroyed our economy and if it continues, people will suffer more,” he said.

A welder, Mr Chidi Okoye, who spoke to our correspondent, said he has a lot of work to do in the shop but cannot because of the sit-at-home order.

According to him, this sit-at-home is not good for the state economy and if it continues it would totally destroy livelihoods in the South East.

“We must stop this madness that is destroying our economy. People are now going hungrier because they can no longer meet their family needs as a result of sit-at-home.

“IPOB must look inward and stop the order to ensure that the sit-at-home does not destroy the people and their economy,” he said.

However, a young man and tiler, Mr Uche Mathew, said they are comfortable with the sit-at-home order, if it is the only way to realise the Biafra dream.

According to him, in every struggle people must give something to get their desire. “Though we are suffering now, that is the only prize we must pay for our agitation. Let it continue and we must manage.”

Some of the businessmen in Anambra also said over N25 billion is being lost in Onitsha alone each day the sit-at-home order by IPOB is enforced.

They said the order has caused a huge drop in patronage in the geopolitical zone, noting the order has forced people in West Africa doing business in the zone to divert to Lagos for fear of being attacked by the IPOB.

Bode George is a shameless liar and a hardcore hater.

We don’t believe your words again because you said the same thing in 2015 when Buhari became president and you did not follow through.

This is 1999 right? So if Tinubu is 69 now, then he was 46 then. Hmmmm.
It might be any year between 1999 and 2007.

You wouldn’t know the actual year from just the pics. Since he governed Lagos for 8 years.

Hunkyimage:
If in 1988 he looked like this, how old is this man?
Does that picture look like 1988 pics to you? Shey Tinubu was governor in 1988 ni?

That picture was taken between 1999-2007, the 88 you see there is the logo of the photographer.

Shine your eyes well well. Tinubu submitted his age in INEC CF001 form in 1993 and 19999, his age was not in doubt.

The only issue with his age was when his Chicago State transcript said 1952 and he said 1950 in his INEC form. So he filed an affidavit that it’s a mix up and that’s what Gani Fawehinmi was talking about.

Na only mentally deranged people dey go about saying Tinubu is 80 year this, 90 year that.

what year is this. Is this 88 because it look like 2022 pic
How can that be 88 when we said they are Tinubu first commissioner. 4th republic started in 1999, so that picture was taken >=1999.

That 88 you see up there is like the logo of the photographer, it means they have been established since 1988. It’s just like First Bank saying since 1809 or so.

Crime › 14-year-old Boy Escape Being Used For Rituals By Father’s Friend In Imo by trutharena(op): 12:47am On Jan 11, 2022
A 14-year-old boy (name withheld) has narrowly escaped being killed by his neighbour, who allegedly wanted to use him for ritual purposes.

The incident reportedly happened at Ubomiri community, in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State last Friday, January 7, 2022.

According to a report by Daily Post, the 40-year-old neighbour from Anambra State, who is now in police custody, invited the boy to his apartment within the neighbourhood for an errand.

On arrival, the young boy met the suspect who is also his father’s friend blaring loud music from his home theatre.

It was reported that after ushering him into his apartment, the suspect jammed the door and hit the boy with a machete, wanting to push him into an already dug grave in his room.

The assailant, neighbours said, was also attempting to chop off the boy’s head from his body, a situation that led to stiff resistance and commotion.

The screams from the victim attracted neighbours who forcefully broke down the door and rescued him, before handing the suspected ritualist over to police operatives.

The boy, who was said to have sustained some cuts, is receiving medical attention at an undisclosed hospital.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), in the State, Michael Abattam confirmed the incident.

He noted that the suspect was currently undergoing police investigation in the State.

Kwakwanso is coming to APC.

PremiumTimes lifted this news from the interview he gave to Channels TV.

If you watch that interview, Kwakwanso body language is that if he perceive he won’t stand a chance for the PDP ticket in PDP, he would rather decamp that continue within it.

Infact Seun of Channels TV keep hammering him about question of defection to APC but he keep saying No he hasn’t, but nothing is impossible in politics and people realign is what he said.

Now that Tinubu has given a clue about contesting the 2023 election, we can be at least 70% sure he is going to get the APC ticket.

Also we all know the North are fighting it out in PDP and one of Atiku or Kwakwanso will emerge the party candidate.

We can do a mock vote to know who is the choice or the people between Atiku and Tinubu.
