IPOB is an organisation that was primarily set up to push for the secession of a part of the country and they have made it clear that they are willing to explore violent means of doing this if necessary. They were proscribed purely for their criminal activities and not because of their secessionist ideals.

Miyetti Allah is a socio-political/cultural pressure group seeking the welfare of the Fulani ethnic nationality in Nigeria. If we were to compare Miyetti Allah with any organisation, it would be with the likes of Afenifere, Arewa Consultative Forum, and Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

IPOB is on the same level as the Yoruba Nation movement as they share a similar agenda. Yes, there are criminal elements among the Fulani. But using the activities of a few to judge the larger body is like blaming Afenifere for the crime of every Yoruba man or Ohanaeze Ndigbo for the crime of every Igbo man.

Actually IPOB only resorted to violence in self defense after series of operations were being led by the Nigerian state and hundreds of IPOB members were gleefully murdered by the forces. At this time IPOB were purely agitation group seeking nothing but a referendum, infact before that years back, Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB was purely protesting for restructuring and state police, and advocating against open grazing etc. The same things most southerners are just waking up to.

They never bore arms during those periods, nor advocated violence even after all the numerous herdmen killing going on in the east. The federal govt failed to protect it's citizens and even when they were massacred never even sympathists nor acknowledged these killings. The only time the federal govt ever responded to the easterners was by KILL EVERYTHING THAT MOVES operations. Notable amongst them THE OPERATION PYTHON DANCE. Innocent IPOB protesters were massacred in their hundreds. The government went further to proscribe the organisation simply because they were protesting the killings of her people. But I guess no single yoruba or northern human being ever spoke out against these attrocities to be fair even their leaders were quite inept and disloyal to their people's plight. It never matters so far as Igbos are the ones being killed, Nigerians are always happy.

As it stands now Nnamdi Kanu is locked up, and Sunday Igboho is in exile, while known killers up north are being turbaned and celebrated. I know you'll tell me it's not the same situation as well.
