Mohbad’s Father: Why I Hate My Late Son’s Wife

Joseph Aloba, father to the late singer, Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has said he resents Omowunmi, his late son’s wife.

The man said the reason he dislikes Mohbad’s wife was based on his belief that she cast a spell on the son, which did not let him take care of him.

Mohbad’s father revealed this at a Lagos State coroner court on Wednesday, and explained extensively in an audio tape that has gone viral that his son preferred to lavish money on his in-laws than on him, due to alleged magical powers Omowunmi used on him.

He also alleged that the lady was having extramarital affair with other men in Marlian’s house when his son was alive.

“I’m a carpenter and people use to give me a job to build houses for them. But, my son didn’t see me that way. He preferred to give (money) to his in-laws,” he said.

Speaking about how she allegedly slept with other men, he said, “So all that happened was beyond natural, that is the reason why I hate her.”


“And I made mention of something three days ago in the court, that whenever this girl wanted to go and f*ck around, she would add something into indomie (noodles) to cook for my son to sleep off.

“And from there, she would enter another man’s room to f*ck in that Marlian House.”

He revealed he got to know this when the girlfriend of the man he was sleeping with caught her and told Mohbad, and he told him before his demise.


“It was later that the girlfriend of that person she was seeing met her there. That was the person that revealed the secret to Moh, and Moh told me,” he added.

Mohbad allegedly died of ear infection on September 12, 2023, at the age of 27, and his death has since then sparked controversies.

His former boss and popular musician, Azeez Fashola, with the stage name Naira Marly has been in custody over the matter alongside others fingered in his death.

Police Have Interrogated Mohbad’s Wife 3 Times — Iyabo Ojo

Famous Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, has disclosed that Omowunmi Aloba, the wife of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, a.k.a Mohbad, has been interrogated by the Police.

LEADERSHIP reports that Mohbad died on 12 September 2023 under controversial circumstances.

As part of investigations into Mohbad’s death, the Lagos State Police Command has arrested several suspects, including the auxiliary nurse that treated him before his death, Feyisoya Ogedengbe, Sam Larry, Naira Marley, Primeboy and others in connection with the case.

However, Nigerians continue to demand the interrogation of the singer’s wife, insisting that she might possess important information that could help in the investigations.

Reacting to the calls for Omowunmi’s interrogation, Iyabo Ojo, in an Instagram post on Tuesday noted that Mohbad’s wife has been interrogated three times.

“Mohbad’s wife has been interrogated three times to the best of my knowledge, 2 out of the 3 times was the day you all saw Mohbad’s dad televised by the police in which they addressed the public on Mohbad’s case.

“Later that same day Mohbad’s dad, mum and wife was sent to Panti for interrogation and to write their statement, another day Mohbad’s wife was interrogated was the 21st of September, which is reason why Tonto Dike and Senator Ishaku Abbo met her absences.”

Also, speaking about the CCTV mounted at Mohbad’s residence, she stated that the camera was at no time connected for usage.

“Please note that the CCTV camera in Mohbad’s house was never fixed or connected, it has no BVR nor Hard Disk.”

Tosin Silverdam, a notorious media figure, has just appeared up to defend Omawumi, the late Mohbad’s wife.

Omawumi has been subjected to a storm of accusations and suspicions following Mohbad’s unfortunate death, with some even implying her involvement in his death.

Accusations have varied from accusations of infidelity to questions about her objectives in relation to Mohbad’s assets and riches. Tosin Silverdam, on the other hand, has spoken out against Omawumi’s attacks. He claims that the focus has moved from seeking justice for Mohbad to constant harassing and unfounded accusations leveled against the bereaved widow.


One especially contentious allegation came from a purported close friend of Mohbad, who claimed Omawumi was in a lesbian relationship with Mohbad’s female manager.

This disclosure was made alongside a plea for Omawumi to be questioned further about Mohbad’s death. Another person came forward to claim that the couple fought frequently, further confounding the story.

Even the paternity of their child was put into question, with some claiming that the infant was not Mohbad’s. DNA testing was performed, and the child’s ancestry was proven to be Mohbad’s. However, netizens continued to speculate, considering the possibility that the infant belonged to someone else, possibly another key suspect in Mohbad’s death, Sam Larry.

Tosin Silverdam expressed his concerns on Instagram, pointing out how the allegations against Omawumi had gotten out of hand.

He also mentioned that rumors currently imply that she may be engaged with many people at Mohbad’s former record company, Malian Records. He questioned whether it was appropriate to subject Omawumi to such constant scrutiny, especially given her recent loss.

Tosin Silverdam stressed in his speech the absence of tangible proof supporting these charges, emphasizing that justice for Mohbad has been eclipsed by what appears to be a bullying campaign against Omawumi.

Omowunmi, the wife of late Nigerian promising musician Mohbad, is back in the news after a friend of her late husband accused her of having an affair with her late husband’s manager.

Micee, a friend of the deceased, claimed in an interview with Very Dark Man that Omawunmi was a lesbian who was having an affair with the late singer’s female manager.

He even claimed Mohbad was aware of the affair since he had videos of them in the act that his manager boldly shared to him.

Micee also stated that his wife and others are attempting to conceal information, and he refused to mention names out of fear.

“Mohbad went to Marlian’s house; he and his manager, Tunde had an argument when he told Mohbad, ‘I am not the type that is controlled by his wife.’ They are trying to hide stuff, I don’t want to mention names. There’s one of their associates, an old manager, he said Mohbad had videos and showed them; the manager would send video of her having stuff with his wife”.

This comes only days after he went live on Instagram to complain about the mistreatment Mohbad endured at the hands of his wife, whom he said was controlling him.

The Kogi State governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Senator Dino Melaye, has promised residents that he will govern with the fear of God if he is elected as governor in the state’s forthcoming November 11 poll.

Melaye gave the assurance Tuesday during the PDP rally in Okene, Kogi state.

He was in company of party stalwarts including the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and a host of others.

*“I’m going to be a governor with the fear of God. If you have the fear of God, you will not kill or steal,”* the senator said.

Explaining his policy document for the state, Melaye promised to pay full salaries and provide adequate security in the state if elected.

“I want to assure you that Dino Melaye will pay full salaries. Those who have been sacked for no reason, our government will restore you back to the workforce,” he said.

On agriculture, Melaye assured his administration will introduce mechanised and plantation farming as well as build farm houses while employing graduates to run the agricultural sector.

“We are going to recruit our graduates and give them hectares of land with new technological means of farming,” he promised.

He added his administration will make sure that all the state’s mineral resources will be used for the benefit of the people.

“We are going to invest immensely in tourism. By the grace of God, we are going to restore back the Ajaokuta steel,” the senator added, urging the people to vote out the ruling All Progressives Congress and its candidate.

Melaye, who accused the APC of impoverishing the state, said: “We are here today to celebrate the political obituary of the APC in Kogi state.”

Melaye will be slugging it out with the ruling APC’s guber candidate, Usman Ododo, and the Social Democratic Party’s flagbearer, Murtala Ajaka, among others.

As much as we've come to like Mohbad and his music, we must understand that he was no angel and he made many mistakes on his pursuit for success and fame.

His mom in an interview with TVC said he was a prophetic child. While in her womb he was prophesied to be a prophet. (That's a Jeremiah's calling.)
Unfortunately his mom and dad allowed the devil to break up their home and they divorced. This destabilised the young Imole's path.
Without his mom to guide and steward the prophecy upon his life, he ended up abandoning his calling.

The sharp contrast between the trajectory of his calling and his reality is so glaring and jarring.

1. He was meant to be a prophet, but he chose secular music- Afropop (not even Gospel or inspirational music.
2. He could have signed under a responsible record label but he chose Marlian music. He practically signed a deal with the devil.
3. He could have stayed with Christ for protection but it would seem he chose Cultism instead.
4. He could have quit the music industry if it meant selling his soul but he chose to sell his soul literally.

He was said to have lost his peace of mind. He became restless and feared for his life and family because he of the dividends of his choice. Every choice has its commensurate consequence.
His mom in the interview mentioned how she kept reminding him of his prophetic calling when she returned to his life recently but he simply smiled because he know what he had gotten himself into, how far gone he was. Accordingvto his dad, he tried to build a church.

An Evangelist I know claimed Mohbad was lucky to give his life to Christ before he passed away. I sincerely pray that was true because not many get that opportunity like the thief at the right hand of Christ.

I sincerely hope we all pick the necessary lessons from this life and times of this young man. I shudder at the thought of how many souls were tied to the Grace of God that was intended for his prophetic calling and how fulfilled he would have lived if he had truly known, believed and followed his calling faithfully.

All I can say is, it is well.
May God console his family.
May justice be done concerning his death.
Let's not make emotional judgments. Let's patiently wait for the right authorities to carry out the necessary investigation, forensics and informed judgment. Iy is their profession and they are experts at it especially when they are obligated to deliver.

I believe other suspects or persons of interests in this crime are also being investigated.

he United States District Court for the District of Columbia has rejected an emergency application seeking the release of the confidential information that top US law enforcement agencies have on Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In June, an American, Aaron Greenspan, had filed a suit under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) against the Executive Office for United States Attorneys (EOUSA), Department of State, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Internal Revenue Service, Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to hasten the release of Tinubu’s dossier.

In his complaint, Greenspan accused the law enforcement agencies of violating the FIOA by failing to release within the statutory time “documents relating to purported federal investigations into” President Tinubu and one Mueez Adegboyega Akande, who is now deceased.

According to him, the records being requested were from the Northern District of Illinois and/or Northern District of Indiana “involving charging decisions” against Messrs Tinubu and Akande.

Court filings showed that the EOUSA denied Greenspan’s FOIA request “invoking FOIA Exemptions 6 and 7(c), which protect information that would constitute unwarranted invasions of personal privacy and information compiled for law enforcement purposes that may constitute an unwarranted invasion of the personal privacy of a third party.”
