Tinubu to Osun APC: I'm Now a National Leader

President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu shocked leaders of the All Progressive Congress (APC) from Osun state who paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja on Friday morning, declaring that he has been elected leader of all Nigerians irrespective of political affiliation.

A credible source among the delegation reported that the team had briefed Tinubu about Osun scenario and the need to deploy the presidential win in favour of the former Governor of the state, Gboyega Oyetola.

The group also sought support of the president- elect towards March 11 state elections, assuring the former Lagos Governor that victory awaits the APC at the State elections.

Tinubu who reportedly listened with rapt attention reportedly told the delegation of his disappointment at their abysmal performance at the last presidential and National Assembly elections, asking them how they failed totally to win a single legislative seat after losing the presidential election.

He was quoted as telling the delegation that Adeleke has proved his popularity and acceptability, describing the APC in Osun state as too discredited to fight further elections against Adeleke.

Comparing his time as Lagos state governor under former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, Tinubu told his party men that no responsible president will wage war against a popular Governor like the Osun State Governor

Asking what the delegation expect him to do with such a popular Governor. Tinubu was quoted as declaring himself a newly elected leader of all Nigerians, not just of a section.

He tasked them to go back home and rebuild the party in preparation for 2026 state elections.

Present as part of the delegation to Tinubu are Chief Bisi Akande and other top leaders of the party.

The source reported that former Governor Gboyega Oyetola was not part of the delegation.

Ignore Rumour of Defection, March 11 will be 26-0 Against APC– Osun PDP

The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has denied any plan by the state governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke to quit the party, dismissing the rumour being spread on social media as fallacious and cheap lies.

The PDP in a statement signed by its Caretaker Chairman, Dr Akindele, on Friday, said the rumour which emanated from the All Progressives Congress (APC) is a failed distraction agenda, calling on Osun voters to troop out en masse and vote PDP candidates on March 11.



He added that Governor Adeleke remains ever committed to the PDP as evidently demonstrated in the Presidential and National Assembly elections, stressing that the PDP will repeat the same feat on March 11th by clearing all the twenty-six assembly seats in the state.

"Let me urge the public to discard the rumour of defection. There is no reason for it, especially given the impressive victory he led the PDP to just a few days ago at the Presidential and National Assembly elections in Osun State," he noted.

"Osun APC is badly decimated and is struggling to even find its feet. Governor Adeleke has within 100 days proved that good governance is possible, hence the massive goodwill the PDP currently enjoys across the state. So voters should ignore the lies from the pit of hell. Governor Adeleke remains a PDP leader and Governor", the statement posited.
