The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, is currently leading in 23 local government areas of Osun State where results have already been declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Atiku won in 18 local government areas in 23 LGAs already announced while the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, won in 5 local government areas.

Some of the local government areas where Atiku won include; Ede South, one of the two local government areas, under Ede town, where the state governor, Ademola Adeleke, hails from.


The party also won in Boluwaduro, Ifedayo, Ila, local government, where ex-Osun governor Bisi Akande hails from, Odo Otin, ex-governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola’s LGA, Olaoluwa, Orolu, Egbedore, Oriade, Atakumosa East and Ilesa East, the local government of the Interior Minister, Rauf Aregbesola.

Tinubu won in Ife East, where the APC National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore voted, as well as Ife Central and Boripe local government of ex-governor Adegboyega Oyetola.

The APC candidate also won in Osogbo and Olorunda, the two local government areas within the Osogbo metropolis, where the Senate spokesperson, Ajibola Basiru, voted.


The collation of results, being done by Prof. Tolulope Ogunsola was put on hold for people to refresh before the last 7 local government areas would be announced.

Osun Presidential/NASS Election Results Reaffirm Governor Adeleke's Governorship Victory - PDP

The massive victory of the Peoples Democratic Party in Saturday Presidential and National Assembly elections has revalidated and reconfirmed the validity and genuineness of Governor Ademola Adeleke's victory at the July 16, 2022 Governorship elections.

Making the assertion in a thank you message to the people of Osun was the Caretaker Chairman of the PDP in Osun State, Dr Adekunle Akindele who commended Osun people for restating their political choice of last year by their massive backing for the PDP on Saturday, citing the Saturday’s victory as "a stern rebuke of the APC for its attempt to steal the people's mandate through the backdoor”.

"Saturday was a metaphor of rebuke and sanction by Osun people against the discredited APC and her leaders who foisted years of locust on the state through their evil minded and anti-people governance style. Our people boldly restated their entrenched opposition against the return of yesterday’s men through manipulation of judicial and the political process”.

"In a landmark electoral outcome, Osun people widen the margins of PDP victory even beyond the July 16 level, delivering the three senatorial seats,

Governor Adeleke Votes at Ede, Commends New Electoral Act

The Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke casts his vote at Sagba/Abogunde Ward 2, Unit 9 in the ongoing presidential and National Assembly elections.

The Governor arrived at 8:42 and cast his votes at about 8:44 after accreditation and verification with BVAS machine.

Governor Adeleke used the opportunity to praise the electoral act as a landmark contribution to Nigeria's democratic development.

Accompanied by family members, the State Governor described the voting process as "speedy and efficient", commending the electoral and security agencies for doing their jobs effectively.

" I have voted and as you can see, it went well. The Electoral Act is a legislation we should celebrate for refining our elections. Our votes now count.

"Again, I commend President Muhammadu Buhari for the courage and patriotism he demonstrated by signing the bill into law. It is a landmark law.

" I call on our people to remain peaceful and eschew violence. Democracy is about thumbprinting your choice, not about killing and maiming", Governor Adeleke noted.

That sentiment could have been meaningful if the political actor had directed his political son's to pay the 30months owed salaries arrears, but he never showed concerns at that time, he never deem it fit to tell them to do the right thing at that time.

Remember those that died during those times, Remember the civil servants that had their health deteriorated till date because of lack of money at that time, Remember their children that missed fantastic life changing opportunities because of lack of financial push at those times. But thanks be to God, Governor Ademola Adeleke is changing that narrative now.

The sentiment of "Omo Eni kose di bebere" is parochial, jejune and self serving.

The same projected beneficiary of that sentiment is the arrowhead of the evil coup plotter that wants to subvert the will of the people of Osun through the backdoor and that must be heavily resisted at the poll tomorrow.
