I don't think Nnamdi Kanu made any mistake coming into Nigeria. There's no way he could have claimed to be an authentic freedom fighter if he could not return to fight his cause. His coming and his subsequent arrest is why Biafra is one of the most hotly discussed topic in Nigeria. His coming back is why all major news stations from Aljazeera to CNN to BBC have talked about Biafra to their global audience. Kanu's return exposed Buhari to the world media as an unrepentant tyrant. There are many positives to Kanu return and the treasonable charges against him are just baseless
he comitted crimes in his struggle...

Politics › Re: Buhari Takes Over Central Bank Naira Management - Bloomberg. by tsdarkside(m): 7:13pm On Jan 29, 2016
why is this so hard for some people to understand....

the naira will devalue itself according to the condition of the market.....

buhari doesnt have to do anything...

what this colonialits are suggesting is,buhari should print more nairas.....but the naira will become a fiat-money soon...

america doesnt have this problem...the dollars is the world currency...

if america print more money,it wouldnt hurt them, because you still have to purchase dollars to buy anything in the world...

like this america can print themselves into oblivion...

if the naira was the world-currency,the the situation would be different....

its only the western world that will win,if you devalue the naira......

this is a loose-loose business for nigeria....

Sorry I totally disagree with you!

They have used the best word to describe the worst President Nigeria has ever had.

He is nothing but a Buffoon and an inglorious fool.

What else can they call a man that presided over the greatest heist ever seen in Africa? A man that opened the floodgates of Nigeria's public finance infrastructure to all his friends all because he wanted to win a second term.

Actually, the Economist is quite liberal. For them to have qualified the retar.d called Jonathan as a buffoon, they must have access to information that supports that qualification.

I will be very happy for them to judge Buhari in same manner if he fails.
Guy...sorry..i quoted the wrong guy...i didnt mean you...

Yes because Nigerians are known to have fought against black-on-black oppression that is the history of Nigeria, right?

Yes, so today, there is no Boko Haram. No Fulani herdsmen killings. There has never been military rule. There are no Birfran people being shot in the street. There is essentially no black-on-black violence over there. We hear you. Nigerians love other blacks so much. They love them so much that they do not kill them with drugs, human trafficking, yahoo boy activities and human slavery. Sure thing, man. Your successive black governments have shown you the greatest love of all, seeing as they never stole your tax money. Instead, they built you world-class infrastructure. You are not economic refugees in other countries, as a result.

Politics › Re: Niger-delta;n-delta Militancy Fuelled By Non-clean Up Of Ogoniland —buhari by tsdarkside(m): 11:28am On Jan 29, 2016
ALISMILE:
ABUJA—President Muhammadu Buhari,
yesterday, in Nairobi, Kenya, said that non-clean
up of oil spillages in the Niger Delta especially in
Ogoniland, was responsible for the militancy the
region witnessed in times past.
The president consequently vowed to clean up
the land by implementing the United Nations
Environmental Programme, UNEP’s
recommendations to save the land.
President Buhari made the promise during a visit
to the United Nations Office in the Kenyan
capital.
He also appealed for more support from the
United Nations in the clean up of the region.
He said: “When I came into office on May 29,
2015, one of the first tasks I carried out was to
authorise the implementation of the
recommendations of the UNEP report for the
clean-up of Ogoniland.
“The devastation caused by oil spillage has
destroyed many lives and livelihoods and is
clearly one of the reasons many people in that
region lost faith in government and resorted to
the many criminal activities we are seeing in the
region today.
“The action our government took to implement
UNEP’s recommendations has given the
indigenes of the region hope that there are
better days ahead. Let me, therefore, express
appreciation on behalf of the Government of
Nigeria to UNEP and other development
partners for their cooperation and support on
this very delicate matter and also request for
their continued support as we implement the
recommendations and transform the fortunes of the region.”
President Buhari also applauded the outcome of
the 21st session of the Conference of the Parties
(COP 21) to the United Nations Framework
Convention on Climate Change, UNFCCC, held in
Paris, France, in December last year.
He called for rapid urbanization as the world
population increases.

A devaluation will be helpful.

1. If they devalued officially, the rate will converge to between 230-250. The black market will move close to the official rate. That is far better than the 305 that is presently on ground.

2. It will put an end to round tripping. People will no longer be sble to buy at 197 and sell at 305.

3. The CBN will be able to meet all demand for forex. Presently, billions of dollar demand is left unfunded and Nigerian companies are being blacklisted. This has been the scenario since Buhari introduced thesr restrictions.

4. It will encourage an inflow of forex. Most people are not ready to receive funds at the official exchange rate. People wjo receive $100 Westetn Union are complaining.

I for one wanted to go into exportation but because I will have to change my forex earnings at the official rate, I lost interest

If people are not bringing forex in, how will the FX reserves grow.

Foriegn investors are refusing to bring money in and many are taking it out.

There are many reasons to devalue. At best, it makes a bad situation from becoming dreadful as it presently is. The naira is heading to 400 by year ending
then we shouldnt do it by force.....

let it devalue naturaly...

fact is: we dont have dollars!!...

the naira will devalue anyway....but we must not force it to devalue....

buhari is doing the right thing...let the market will regulate its self....

The problem with most people is that they depend on head knowledge when discussing economic matters.

What you have said here makes no economic sense.

The best economists in the world advise that a devaluation of the currency is best at this stage. Why should I listen to a stockbroker?

Soludo and Sanusi have both condemned his policies and that alone is enough for me
if someone says, make you cut off your arm, would you agree because he sees himself as someone special??...

The present government economic policies are an outrage.

The foriegn exchange restrictions is killing the economy.

If the fall in oil prices left the econony half dead, the present statist policies will finish it off.

If this expansionary budget is passed which they wrongly praised. it will cause a drop in the naira to 400 in the nlack market by year ending at the latest. I am actually suspecting by July this year
pahh...go acquire your dollars yourself......

look at you....you earned in nairas, and you want dollars..........

your nairas are worthless in the world, without the goverment giving you dollars for your nairas.....

the goverment should even completly stop giving them dollars for nairas..

let them go exchange their nairas, directly by the international-markets and find out how worthless their nairas realy is......
