https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lp1FHkJa-pY[/quote]Election is done and dusted yet you are still rubbing pancake on pig, is this how you are going to spend your next 8 years on Nairaland?
Try grow up and stop all these needless comparisons
Ignorance and delusion are what I see in your accusation. You called the person that SW and other regions vote for a thief but your mediocre candidate who graduated as a third class, contested in a political party that can only be described as a third force, and came out third in the election as the best candidate. What can be more delusional than refusing to admit you are not capable of making rational decisions?
Your region went to war and lost millions of innocent people because of the emotional and egocentric tendencies of your leaders. Another one embarked on a fruitless mission of Biafra but ended up in the belly of those he abused and derided with so much venom, now we have a new generation of emotional people who feel the only way to get the presidency is by abusing other candidates from other regions while painting their own as Messiah.
Your people are voting for the best candidates yet your region has turned into a war zone where people flee for fear of being killed by the same IPOB terrorist you termed as your saviour.
Continue your abuse of Nigeria's elected candidate, it's not going to stop Asiwaju Bola Ahmed from ruling you for the next 4 years. All your government offices and every establishment in the SE will hang the portrait of the man you live your life to hate
Usmanovic95: There should be a better explanation for this. How can a party get a 25% spread vote across 28 states but fail to have 25% in Abuja?
Let's put into consideration, Abuja is a center of Unity i.e it's home to all tribes, religions, and cultures. It is a sample population for the entire population. To some large extent, it can be used to generalize how the exercise pan out.
Abuja is not a home to all tribes, where that is applicable is in National Assembly, not even in Aso Villa, the notion that Abuja harbors all tribes of Nigerians is a self-deceit fallacy.
That analogy should not be used to explain the peculiarity of the FCT, Nigerian Constitution never gives preference power to FCT.
Again, Nigeria election is about the highest vote or simple majority. Emphasis is never placed on a Polling Unit, Ward, Constituency, Senatorial District, Territory, or State as a prerequisite for winning an election, what the constitution emphasized is the highest number in those places.
A candidate who loses his polling booth, his ward, his constituency, his senatorial district, and his state will be declared the winner if he gets the highest vote in the election.
25% vote cast in 2/3 states and FCT is clear enough, if FCT was intended to be required, the use of "in" would have been inserted.
The clause would have read 25% in 2/3 states and "in" FCT.
North4Obi23: Your Worse Enemy May Be Your Best Friend
I have been laughing at the drama going on in Yorubaland and I often refuse to talk about it because many won't understand. The elders who have seen it are not listened to. The overzealous and power-hungry young people make noise. The north knows that Tinubu is a bait. They just used him to cause a longtime division between Igbos and Yorubas and by that they will achieve their long term aim. When people are divided, the enemy achieves his plans easily and faster. I have not talked about tribe in this platform and this my first piece about Yoruba nation because they fail to learn from us in Southern Kaduna, in Plateau, Taraba, Benue, Nasarawa and others who live by the grace of God because we have been conquered and killed every day. Who do we cry to? When it's coming we saw it as politics or religion and never agreed and it swallowed us up. The great Gowon, TY Danjuma, Paul Unongo are now hushed and live in regrets. Quite often they cry in low voice, "protect yourselves!" The use of both religion and politics may appear harmless but that same strategy has worked in the northern states that were predominantly Christians. And today the story is a sad one.
Already, the dangerous lizard has entered into SW through the cracks created by MURIC and other extremists who will no longer agree in future. What happened in Ondo church created mixed feelings and many Yorubas fail to ascribe it to Islam because it's their fate. The biggest "protectors" of Yorubaland are the Igbos and the South-south, because when they speak in one voice, the enemy will shiver and withdraw. This has fortified them and worried the enemy. The artificial enmity and division the imposition of Tinubu will bring between Igbos and Yorubas will not be different from the case of Benue who were separated from their southern neighbors before annihilation begins. I understand this game plan because I live in the north and we're like slaves. We cry, no one listens. Sometimes people don't even believe us. The enemy plans ahead but the southern Nigeria doesn't. The south is after power that they get by losing their rights, strength and freedom. Mark my words, the next governor of Lagos will be a Northerner from the same APC. Many emirs will be installed using Tinubu and he will be subjected to a lot of ugly stuffs he may not say no to. I implore Igbos and the South-south not to allow this artificial division that looms to work. The south will become weaker and eventually conquered. I don't want what is happening in the north to happen in the south.
The bolded part exposed your foolishness, though you have been busted severally as IPOB disguising to be a northern.
Well we won't be having these sermons if Obi had won, but because he lost you now remember you are SW neighbour, yet you abuse Yoruba leader
Ttalk is a political enthusiast with vast knowledge of Nigerian politics, started his political career years back at the state level and later moved to the national stage. Had contact with many current politicians while working at the Federal level and understand Nigeria's diversity.
IVORY2009: Peter Obi GCFR would be the first ever politician in the history of the federal republic of Nigeria, to single handlely, remove a drug lord from office, go and mark my words, todays date is 8th April 2023, you would come back here, and quote me.
This trash doesn't deserve a response as the author sounds like one Alexis who used to disturb nairaland with his useless opinion.
An Ibo guy doesn't have the gut to discuss resource control when their fathers were the ones that aborted regional government.
Today none of their governor support state control of the VAT when SW and SS are clamoring for it. SE is all about noise, intimidation, killing, and chest-beating, they are at par with NE when it comes to relevance
Eriokanmi: Your narrative is so biased. Jonathan was a Christian president, his vp was a Muslim from Kaduna...so, you expect number 3 man to also be a Muslim?
Tinubu a president-elect and a Muslim, the vice is also a Muslim, so you expect the number 3 man to also be a Muslim? This is common sense.
Am sure you are not getting it funny dealing with your fellow Obidients if truly you are a Yoruba.
You can see the destruction motive behind that Obidient that quoted you
XerXers: And northeners who put him there will allow such? Under Obasanjo and Jonathan Igbos carried out significant reforms unlike this regime that didn't even experience any cabinet shake up. Soludo did bank recapitalization. Nnaji did unbundling PHCN, Dora akunyili did Sim registration, Ken Nnamani destroyed third tenure, unlike your people who seek political position as ethnic rivalry and can't make any impact
Are those things you mention benefitted your region? Don't let me hear you talk about marginalisation and the rant of port not functioning in Eastern region, it is a pity that SE is yet to generate her development agenda within Nigeria apart from the noise of Biafra, nothing better, you can't even organise yourself to demand additional state that would make you match up with other regions.
XerXers: SW may not get much in Tinubu's administration. He will be doing everything to please the north. Next time have a strong southern base like Obasanjo
What SW crave for from Tinubu government is not appointment but a decentalised government that will empower there federating units. Carryout major restructuring and give us economic benefit and we will for ever be grateful to him.
We would not be like some region that were so fixated in appointment during Jonathan regime and forgot to demand for things that would improve their region
XerXers: You don't understand national politics brother. That was the initial plan when Buhari refused to disclose his preferred candidate. Immediately he said this, Tinubu ran to Abuja to declare interest. Tinubu was able to arm twist Buhari using northern governors
Una no dey shame for this type of foolish conspiracy theory? Haba!
Sanusi is sound but cunny and tribal, he favoured the northerners in employment during his time and remembering all those controversial donations he made to the northern University, one would begin to question his patriotism.
Was it not same man that defended Jaiz bank? Am not saying establishing the bank is bad but the support and devotion of CBN governor to a particular bank reveals his religious tendency. Besides, Sanusi is seen to be radical, people like that can not get along with the Tinubu I know
