Foreign Affairs / 80-year-old Equatorial Guinea Ruler To Run For Sixth Term by TTOPSON(m): 10:56pm On Sep 23, 2022 |
80-Year-Old Equatorial Guinea Ruler To Run for Sixth Term President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, who has ruled Equatorial Guinea with an iron fist for more than 43 years, will seek a sixth term in November, the vice president said Friday. Obiang, 80, is the longest ruling head of state in the world excluding monarchs but it was uncertain if he would stand again or whether his son would succeed him. It was his son, Vice President Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, nicknamed “Teodorin”, who made the announcement. “Because of his charisma, his leadership, and his political experience”, the ruling party unanimously chose Obiang as its candidate for the November 20 poll, Obiang Mangue wrote on Twitter. Romance / Am I Dating Myself by TTOPSON(m): 10:37am On Sep 01, 2022 |
I saw a thread few days ago about how to know if you are dating yourself. While the thread was educating enough, I feel it’s not all inclusive. I think individual contributions based on knowledge or experience will cover much more on this particular subject matter. For a relationship that started from friendship where two of you communicate very well without being busy for each other, but now the relationship has started and few months into the relationship, communication dropped because either of you is always busy. My question is: At what point should one conclude that he or she is dating his/her self. All contributions, especially with relevant experience will be highly appreciated …… |

Romance / Answering Father In-law Without Sounding Arrogant by TTOPSON(m): 9:32am On Apr 16, 2022 |
Few days ago, I was chatting with a lady friend of mine, in the course of discussion we talked about meeting in-laws and the likes. She now mentioned something that got me curious. She was like, she knew the questions that her dad would ask anyone she takes home. I said oh really! What are they? Questions like: What are you life goals? Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years time? What’s your perspective about life? What are your core values? My question now is that, how do you answer this kind of questions without sounding arrogant or insulting? |

Romance / How Do You Know You Are In Love? by TTOPSON(m): 8:14am On Apr 29, 2021 |
Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counselors there is safety. Pro. 11 :14 Love is a beautiful thing they say especially when you are with the right person. There is a general saying that ladies are many for single guys, that statement might be true for guys who don’t give much thought to whosoever they want to settle down with. For people who considers the fact that it’s lifetime contract, their options might be limited. Sometimes, when you think you’ve known a particular person so well as friends to be able to live with him or her then you discover they are no go area when you start a relationship. In awe of this reality, that’s what has brought about the question. How do you know you love someone? I would appreciate mature mind response please..... |

Education / We All Need Change As Individuals by TTOPSON(m): 1:06pm On Oct 05, 2017 |
I saw this beautiful write up on WhatsApp and I felt that indeed everyone need change. It is a good scenario of what happens in almost every sector of this country. The change should start with our immediate family first. HEADMASTER: how much is passport photograph for children? *PHOTOGRAPHER: the price for the passport is N100 per child HEADMASTER: No, the pupils are 500 in number, so we are paying N50 PHOTOGRAPHER: okay no problem sir, you can pay N50 each since they are many HEADMASTER: class teacher go & inform the pupils that they should bring N150 each tomorrow for the passports. CLASS TEACHER: Okay sir, i will inform them right away CLASS TEACHER: Good day pupils, you are all to come with N200 tomorrow for passports. *PUPIL:* Mummy we were asked to bring N300 for passport at school MUMMY: Father, your son was asked to come to sch with N500 passport fee tomorrow. FATHER:* OOH My God. BUHARI make things costly day by day, including education. We have said it, this man is wicked. Moral lesson: 'LET THE CHANGE BEGIN WITH YOU AND I'. Honesty and sincerity are all that we need to make this country a better place! Think about it. Change begin with YOU, change your motives and your thoughts. Thanks for being a Nigerian |

Romance / Three Stages Of Relationship That Makes A Good Marriage by TTOPSON(m): 7:05pm On Jun 22, 2015 |
There are three stages in a relationship, once a relationship has gotten to the third stage, marriage should not be delay again 1. Romantic stage: This is a stage whereby you have strong feelings or affection towards someone. This is when both partners develop unusual interest in each other probably because of likeness for personality, statue, gift or status. It may even be a mutual feeling between both party for example, I like him, I love her, she's my kind of person, I cherished her good sense of humor, I think we are compatible, she has what I would love my woman to have etc. Beware, this stage is very important even though you claim that it's God leading you or a prophet you respected so much has said it. You must also love him or her. 2. Reality stage: it's indeed a reality stage because at this stage issues will be discussed. When I say issues, I mean background, likes and dislikes, what you will allow and what you will not allow, sometimes pasts that can endanger the future needs to be sorted out, weaknesses, strong point etc. Here, sincerity of the highest order is demanded in both partners as pretense will not be condoled at all. Sometimes both party might experience temporary separation in order to come together becoming stronger (You disagree to agree). It is important as you need to touch each other's Achilles heel. 3. Commitment stage: if your relationship has gotten to this stage, please you are advised to push on with the wedding now. Be committed to each other, don't let it be the man giving you every time or the woman doing the giving alone while you only receive and say thanks. Be ready to contribute to the relationship no matter how small it may be. Don't assume that after all he knows that am not working or she understands my financial status so, she must be the one responsible for my up keeps. Haven't passed through all these stages of relationship, whether in ascending order or descending order both party are therefore advised to fix a wedding date. |
Politics / Re: Saraki And His Wife, 2 Children At His Inauguration (photos) by TTOPSON(m): 9:23pm On Jun 09, 2015 |
Am not sure if We should still be expecting any CHANGE again considering d emergence of Saraki as the president of 8th National Assembly as well as Dogara speaker of the house respectively. I don't know what Baba was thinking to have allowed Atiku loyalist hijacked the two chamber of the house of assembly. I think d statement "I belong to everybody and I belong to nobody" would have to be review by baba if he didn't want to take a bow out of office before his tenure ends. |
