I thought I was the only one who noticed this. For the past 2 months or so, electricity has improved tremendously in my area. I visited my cousins frequently in Shomolu arra of Lagos, and the same is the story. But how surprising it is that nobody seems to notice this, or could it be deliberate? |

*Uproar as Lagos Developer Invades, Confiscate Family Property, Claims to have Support of Sanwo-Olu, Ajasa Family and others * The frequency of quack property developers in Lagos State has reached an unfortunate height. Just when we thought the issue of landlord, tenants and land-grabbers has been reduced owing to Lagos State’s specific laws and processes, Property development in Lagos State is now a profession for every Tom, Dick and Harry. Their nefarious activities, geared towards aggressive bullying with thugs and state institution to perpetuate their acts on the targeted families, have murdered the good works and reputation of the profession. This issue came to the fore on Tuesday when Some women cried out to the Lagos State Government to intervene in their situation as one Olatunji Ajasa, who tags himself a developer and a relation of the Royal Ajasa family in Lagos, childhood friend to Governor Babajide Sanwo -Olu and a close friend to Lagos state Commissioner of Police Mr Musiliu Smith, is reported to have forcefully taken over their property situated at 56 Old Yaba Road, Adekunle Bus stop, Yaba, Lagos, and is allegedly undertaking an illegal construction work there. According to a family representative, Mrs Kehinde Olaniyan, she went there to challenge the activities of the developer on the site but was met with stiff resistance from some fierce looking thugs stationed as security. She managed to speak with the developer, and he claimed to have acted on instructions from Yinka Idowu and Dotun Idowu who he said have handed the property to him. From the project Board erected on the site, with building file number YAB/EPPO/2021/148M/140, it was observed that the project Architect is one Shotech Consult, while the project engineer is one Olatunji Ajasa with office at 22, Branco Street, Lagos Island. Our findings revealed that the company name “Shotech Consult” upon which the developer was granted the building approval is not registered under Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC (see attached result from search below). Worst of it is the fictitious address provided by the project engineer which our investigation revealed has no connection with the company at all. All efforts to gather more information on the company through available institutions and search engines proved abortive as there is no such name as Shotech Consult (Fake). Speaking on behalf of the family, Mr. Muyiwa Idowu, while shedding more light into the unfolding issue, disclosed that a petition has been forwarded to the office of the General Manager of the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) while also urging the body to quickly intervene into the matter and halt the ongoing illegal construction work going-on on the site and investigate how Ajasa was granted planning permission with an unregistered company. Idowu wondered how a construction company could be operating in Lagos without being duly registered under CAC and with no proper traceable record suggests money mugger and lack of care to Lagosian life which why collapse building is the rampant in Lagos He also urged Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to regularize the activities of developers in the state similar to the tenancy law to provide checks and balances into the menace of such developers. https://starmediaren.com/2021/07/22/uproar-as-lagos-developer-invades-confiscate-family-property-claims-to-have-support-of-sanwo-olu-ajasa-family-and-others/

This case seems to be getting messier by the day. As much as I don't know who to believe between the two, I develop deep anger in me when issues of all these land grabbers or Omoonile as they call them arises. The government needs to really do something about this. |

As the struggle to curtail the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic intensifies in Nigeria, there has been stringent measures taken to checkmate the spread of the disease vis-à-vis the lock down of initial three states of Lagos, Ogun and Abuja the FCT by the Federal Government, and the subsequent repeat of same action by all the remaining state Governors in the federation. This action has generated a lot of controversies and different reactions from the general public. It is evident that many Nigerians find it pretty difficult to stay at home during this lock down due to starvation and lost daily income for survival. This is further heightened by concerns that government does not have effective palliative programs in place to cushion the negative effect of this unprecedented lock down which prompt flouting the order of the federal government. On the other hand, security men deployed to enforce the stay at home order have literally turned the order to workshop where they earn daily living collecting bribes and allowing people go about their daily businesses unhindered. This in a way is sabotage to the security of lives and properties as well as paving the way for criminalities and security infiltration especially in Lagos and Ogun States. In Lagos for instance, cultism groups in the name of “Awawa and 1million gangs” are terrorizing the communities while in Ogun State, one Mr Sunday Akinnuoye popularly known as Baba Soldier extorting members of the public under the disguise of “Amotekun” the popular South Western community policing outfit with his 13 man terror gang. Many thanks to Ogun State security agency that nabbed and handover his team to the DPO Itele police station. Further investigation revealed that, the leader of this gang, named Mr. Sunday Akinnuoye is a Retired army officer, senior member Vigilante Group of Nigeria, anti-terrorist organization, Civil right group, National union of road transport worker, CDA member and a close friend to a senior Yoruba leader with access to political leaders in government, have been arrested for several fraudulent activities, but usually gets away with the use of it because he (Akinnuoye) have been able to warm himself to the hearts of most unwary leaders of Yorubaland through prominent Yoruba groups which makes his release whenever he commits these atrocities a matter of phone call. Akinnuoye was said to have defrauded several people of #2,500 cut across the South West states, the fee he claimed was meant for registration form for participation in the Federal Government Regional Agricultural Intervention Program, parading a photo of himself and the Vice President to defraud people. We authoritatively gathered that he has on several occasions been arrested for fraud related offences at a hide-out office located at No. 14, Aina Eleko Street, Onigbongbo Maryland, Lagos. It was gathered that a prominent Yoruba group, Network of Yoruba Alliance, NEYA, in a release signed by the secretary to the group Comrade Adelaja, gave stern warning to the general public and especially the Yoruba leaders against having dealings with Akinnuoye on behalf of the group saying: “we have discovered that Akinnuoye Sunday has being parading himself as a representative of NEYA in Yoruba interests group meetings and events. We hereby dissociate ourselves as members of the group Network of Yoruba Alliance, NEYA and the group from any association with him (Akinnuoye), we wish to advise various Yoruba leaders to be wary of such elements with questionable characters as they are capable of jeopardizing the collective struggles, the ideologies and image of the Yoruba leaders and misrepresent the Yoruba interests. Another Yoruba group had hitherto warned the coordinator of the “Amotekun” against a purported plan by these elements to secretly recruit their loyalists into the group to serve their interest. The group therefore reiterates its warnings, now that this has happened, and the need for the coordinator to personally see to the monitoring of recruitments for probity and accountability. The News Carrier reliably gathered that in the case of the cultists activities in Lagos State, the Commissioner of Police Lagos State Command, CP Odumosu have directed thorough action by the police in the affected areas of the state and that several arrests have been made in respect to the activities of the “Awawa boys and the 1million gang” terrorizing those areas. The Commissioner of Police hinted that investigation is still ongoing and hopefully more arrests will be made and that the suspects will be charged to court after the lockdown is lifted. Our Recommendation Government should use available public data such as Bank BVN, political party card, national censor record and the use of nonpolitical organization like red-cross, boys scout, man-o -war, and NGOS to distribute the Covid -19 support. Provide support for police community to provide monitoring team to monitor the activities of their men on duties during and after corvid – 19 pandemics Also request the use of SO Safe security team to patrol the boundary of Ogun state to curtail the activities of criminal like Sunday Akinnuoye and his gang. Advice the management of AMOTEKUN to scrutinize every member through Yoruba method and ensure individual should have the signature of the community, organization, association leader for accountability, coordination and responsibility purposes. Must have no criminal record. Advice Yoruba pollical leader to disassociate their self from Sunday Akinnuoye as he uses the names and photograph to fraud member of the public of their hard earned money. We appreciate the effort of the Ogun state security apparatus for their good and intelligent effort in detecting the criminal with such political influence. https://starmediaren./2020/04/29/covid-19-lagos-lockdown-13-amotekun-impersonators-nabbed-by-the-police/ https://www.lindaikejisblog.com/2020/4/fake-amotekun-officers-arrested-in-ogun-photos-2.html https://www.lucipost.com/2020/04/fake-amotekun-officers-arrested-in-ogun-photos/ https://www.afronaija.com.ng/photos-fake-amotekun-officers-arrested-in-ogun/

I once worked in a plastic company along Toyota bus stop, Oshodi, and I still remember very vividly an horrible incident that occurred then. A co worker, from another department, came to the production room to relieve his friend who wanted to go on 30 minutes break. That 30 minutes help he rendered cost him his right hand. The memory of how his hand got stucked in the plastic machine moles, and how the injector kept pumping extremely hot plastic (polypropylene) into the moles thereby cooking up the hand, and how, after concerted efforts, the two moles eventually opened up thereby revealing torn and cooked scattered fingers amidst serious smoke, was such a gory site to behold. All the Indian engineer could do was stand in shock with his body seriously trembling. A lot of these factories do not really consider the safety of their workers truly. |

Although you asked too early for a pay rise, but you can still correct the negative impression and reaction you are getting from her now. If you ask me how, i would advice you to stop trying to show how sorry you are to her, pretend as if nothing ever happened, greet her like you've always been doing whenever your paths crosses, even if she ignores your greetings, still greet her. Most importantly, focus on your work there and make sure your impact is felt. She'll be convinced sooner that you're an invaluable asset that needs every encouragement and motivation necessary to move a company forward. By then, you wouldn't need to be asking for a pay rise, the company will consider a need to review your salary. Lobatan !!!! |
