Revolution Towards Eradication Of Unemployment And Poverty In Nigeria And Entire Africa In a chat with the press in Lagos in the course of the week, the Chairman of Livelihood Homes Ltd, Mr. Kelly Ogwu has stated his resolve to embark on a life changing program for the whole of Nigeria, Africa and the world at large. Mr. Kelly in his statement narrated how he fought rigorously with the enigmatic bug called poverty before he (Kelly Ogwu) became victorious over it given his humble background. His determination now to identify with, and help millions of people who are passing through similar experience is unwavering, starting with Nigeria. “I am determined to help Nigerians live above poverty line, above even the new minimum wage of 30,000 naira per month just signed into law because I have been poor once in life time but rising from poverty has thought me many lessons that will be beneficial to the public in transforming their lives, families and their entire generation” Kelly opined. He identifies agriculture as a veritable tool for his anticipated revolution to not only alleviate but to eradicate the scourge of poverty in the land. “We are going to support the federal government of Nigeria under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari in its programs to reduce the level of unemployment in the country and by so doing, we have resolved to start empowering Nigerians in the area of agriculture by providing farming facilities for their leverage. And it would not stop at that, we are willing to work with the government of President Buhari in the areas of policies formulation and enabling laws that would make agriculture conducive and attractive as one of the best practices thereby enhancing productivity.” He revealed his talks with his international business partners on how to make his vision to eradicate poverty feasible. He stressed the need to sensitize the public as a starting point to prepare the minds of the people for the real economic transformation that is about to sweep the whole country as he works with the federal government to bring about good governance. He also will soon embark on a world tour on his capacity to win direct investments to Nigeria in order to boost our SMEs but first, the necessity to have government policies in place to attract these chains of investments. In like minds, Aremo Barr Oladotun Hassan, President, Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide/ Chairman, Nigerian Bar Association, Lekki Forum who is also a Coordinator of this project emphasized their readiness to take the people of Nigeria to the next stage of their lives. “The project is been well mapped out, properly planned and articulated now ready for execution hence, the need for this press briefing. Kelly is my business associate and a good friend who came up with these whole ideas and we discussed it with a larger house that couldn’t even make it to this briefing and every strategic planning is done, we have examined the strengths and weaknesses of the project and have been able to provide sustainable solutions where necessary. We believe there is greater opportunity in it for our people and it is viable.” source: https://tmp150910116wordpresscom./2019/06/29/revolution-towards-eradication-of-unemployment-and-poverty-in-nigeria-and-entire-africa/

Where in Lagos is this pls ![]() ![]() |
This is a right call. But my frustration with our leaders has always been the poor action that follows. Security issues in this country requires urgent and careful attention. We have a gross situation of internal unrest induced by poverty and external invasion caused by years of bad leadership. We must ensure security is guaranteed now or we'll find ourselves in a situation where people will start to arm themselves in preparedness for the unknown. |

A Pan-Yoruba group, Network of Yoruba Alliance, NEYA on Monday has issued a statement condemning the proposed plans of some groups who plan to capitalize on June 12 national day as basis for promoting South-Western sovereign states agenda. In its release dated 10th of June, 2019 the group noted that it is tantamount to efforts in futility for any Yoruba self-determination group to attempt to regionalize the struggles of June 12 on the premises that late MKO as was a Yoruba person. “we received with dismay the notification of plans by some quarters to stage a protest for Yoruba Sovereign State on Wednesday. We at NEYA make bold to say that June 12 struggles was a national struggle, well identified with by all the tribes and regions in Nigeria. It was a mandate unanimously given to Chief M.K.O Abiola by all Nigerians. The Hausas identified with it, our brothers and sisters from the Eastern part of the country identified with it therefore, it is very wrong for a section of the society to want to regionalize it”. we can mention many instances of solidarity and supports for the struggle by non-Yoruba such as Dr joe okei odumakin, Alfred ilenre, Sen. Shehu and Uba Sanni and many more that were unequivocal on their stand and support for national recognition for the popular mandate of “Hope ‘93”. The National Coordinator, Speaking on behalf of NEYA, advised that another method should be adopted to channel such course rather than staging a protest on a honourable day as June12. NEYA revealed that such approach as open protest as a form of agitation for self-determination is unrealistic as such methodology is a means by which such groups enrich their pocket or seek relevance from the government for possible appointments into cabinets or solicit contract. The agitations for Yoruba liberation is beyond display of placards by few sponsored crowed. Yoruba need a formidable front for its activities henceforth which is only achievable by massive consultations with robust deliberations and contributions on the best ways forward and not the kind of fire brigade approach to programs. This move is unpopular, and we are aware of the gimmick to lure Yoruba well-meaning elders into this “political gaming and notice me parade” therefore we advise that such zeal and enthusiasm could have been channeled to curbing the incessant invasion and encroachment of Oduduwa lands by aliens. A recent incident was in Ondo State where nine armed Fulani herdsmen stormed the palace of Onigedegede of Gedegede, Oba Walidu Sanni, in Akoko, Akoko North-West Local Government and harass the monarch for reporting incessant destruction of farmlands in his area to the police. In the account of this, many people over a few period of time have been chased out of their lands by aliens. In the same vein, communities in the remote area of Ikole LGA, Irele Ekiti and environ as we speak, the villagers panic to go to their farmlands on broad day light for the fear of being stab, rape or even killed and various other attacks by these herdsmen. Several other parts of South-West are affected by this menace and we need leaders who can speak up like former Governor Ayodele Fayose who stood firmly to protect his state. It is also noted that no group or an individual openly applaud the actions of Ayodele Fayose in this regard. Our lands need protection. It is appalling to note that these elements who pretend to act as the voice for the Yoruba race have been silent in the face of irregularities affecting the pace of growth and development in the terrain but are quick to organize protest for their selfish embellishment. We will not be deterred in our quest for a Yorubaland of our dreams where infrastructural development is second to none, where our youths are gainfully engaged, and where education is free for all like the days of Yoruba heroes. Our livelihood must not be impaired by the activities of strangers on our land and the in-action of the government. The governors must follow path of Fayose to stand for the Yorubas instead of fighting declare state of emergency on revamping the economy of Yorubaland by investing in agriculture and make this region the food basket of not only Nigeria but West Africa, NEYA opined. Whilst we believe in the need for Yoruba sovereign state and the efforts towards it, NEYA advises that we adopt political revolution where all Yoruba self-determination groups will come together to form a common front to the achievement of our long term objective.
