its possible that shell has started contacting people. from what the recruiting guy said during my interview, its like shell have its own cut off marks for their recruitment, if u meet it u are in, if not u are out. because how else would u explain this fact - The guy said last year they wanted 120 recruits, they only got 82, meaning that they sieved out only 82 from the lot. this year, he said they also want 120, though one of the present SITP guy said they need 150 including 50 petrochemical or petroleum engineers. well let us pray that we make. May God help us, SHELL NA THE PLACE TO WORK O |

Making a first class is not too difficult, it takes extra work, and care, ultimately God's grace. But i must tell u one thing, look at the past of those that have first class in college, their SSCE, and their performance in secondary school. They would have performed excellently. For those who did well in secondary school and fumbled in the university its because they got carried away by the wind of the campus. some even believed that the university is a playing ground and everything is easy. these people end up playing with the acedemics at the early, before they realise it their G.P.A. don get "K" leg. For schools that run the Cumulative system your part 1, matters a lot and it goes a long way in determining what you are likely to get out with. It even gives you the strong will and believe to want to graduate with a first class. Dont believe n people that will tell u its not possible, its a lie. even with schools that run the contributive method of assessment your part 1 is important and goes a long way in determining what your lecturers feel about. their perception is important too. where you make a missed it in further exams they will believe its a mistake which they wont believe for others. |
my brothers that university of unilorin gave a useless result is not true, that is a representative of you. Instead of you to go and improve yourself, you keep blaming people for your problems. you can imagine somebody scoring 0. na wa o. ![]() |
I don't agree with people that say first class does not mean anything in some countries, that is not true, it only means different things to different nations. In most of the advanced nations, first class students work in their research institutes, universities and other institutions, that need real analytical minds. In Nigeria today, how many first class want to work in the academia where the are paid peanuts after all that stress involved in getting a first class. Another issue is that the idea of first class differ from schools to schools to some extent, some school are more strict than others; and since there i no national regulatory body, there is no standard. I have seen some school exams in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and strength of materials, which form the basis of engineering disciplines. I tell you they are just too cheap. Yet a good student from this school will get a first class all things being equal, while others will be sweating in some other schools. for me first class is good, wonderful, but without it, you can still be great, in fact most great men didn't have first class. One thing i believe again is that most of these great men didn't have first class because they didn't know how important it was, so they try all they can to impress the world and show that they could have made it too. while the first class gurus just allow it go into their heads and never do things that will propel them further. |
na wa o, na so u be, just causing confusion. ![]() |
