Make una give us information concerning Direct Entry students pls.
What will their own admission pattern be?
This one that there is aggregation of UTME, PUTME and SSCE for 100level entry
what is the structure for direct entry students?
EducationRe: Unilorin Admission 2010/2011 by tunene: 6:00pm On Sep 15, 2010
It seems to me that most of the people here are for 100level entry, nobody is talking about Direct entry. My younger sister did PUTME for computer science and she scored 63. Please does anyone have anything to say as par the determining factor for the admission of the DE students.

Cheers.

BusinessRe: Free Training On Haulage Business In Nigeria by tunene: 4:49pm On Sep 05, 2010
Tipper business in my own opinion is that easy at all. I bought a 20ton tipper and gave it to someone (a friend) to manage. The first three month, the returns were good only for the story to change afterwards. I do not really know what the problem is
1. because I had to move from the town where the tipper is to another city quite far away for a new job
2. Because those times concided with the rainy season and the truck is in Ajah, so i tend not to want to argue with him too much

I am really tired. I am thinking of two options
1. To sell the truck and forget about haulage
2. To change the people operating it (manager and driver completely)

I need advice from senior collegues or even junior ones with experience.

The business no easy at all. I just cant imagine that I invested my savings only to be faced with this kind of wahala.

BusinessSomebody Help! I Am Not Reaping The Benefits Of My Tipper by tunene(op): 3:21pm On Sep 03, 2010
Hi,

I bought a tipper about 8 months ago. A friend had being in that business before so I got him to manage it and he goes out with the driver to transport sands for people, he and the driver collect their share of the money. The first three months, they brought good returns only for the story too change after then. It has turn to the proverbial "one week, oone trouble". The returns are now so low, nearly every week he has something to fix from the returns of the previous week. One thing I think that is affecting me also is the fact that I am very busy person my job does not allow me stay two often in Lagos (Ajah) where the truck is. I could be away for 2months sometimes.

Please, can I get any advice from the house of what to do.

Science/TechnologyRe: 42-year Old Panel Beater Redesigns Vw Beetle by tunene: 11:21pm On May 17, 2010
@ Ajadudu,
I wont want us to look at it as just spraying alone. The car he brought is longer than the model you showed us. He cut the car into two to have space for the two new doors and made a roof for it. He had to increase the length of the chassis and that is where safety issues come in. He wont be the right person to tell us if the car is safe or not, we can only tell by proper structural analysis and loading with time.

@All,

I know the guy has done a good job but really this is not new in Naija. Growing up in Far northern part of the country, in the early 80 to early 90, several panel beaters convert Datsun 120Y, 160K and 140J 2 doors to 4 doors easily for Taxi. Some even relocate the position of the median since the doors of the 2-door cars then were longer than those for 4-doors to create more space for the 2 extra doors.

Sometime ago, a nigerian did something more ingenious but cutting a peaguot 505 and introduced 2 more doors producing a limosine.

For me, I think that is worth celebrating more than this.

Just my opinion, dont crucify me.

One love.
CareerRe: Best Paying Company In Nigeria? by tunene: 8:51am On Dec 30, 2009
From all the replies that we have so far, the ones who have quoted values are from shell, if there is any Chevron, Mobil, total, agip, etc in the house state yours because I know shell is not the highest paying of them all and I also know that shell is not the only company recruiting people.

As for the quoted amounts, i have no doubt whatsoever. So now we have entry level for shell about 500K, at least i know that and Southsea, debosky and crowseder have confirmed that.

People, be informed these values are real and some companies even pay more.

Bros, hold your two hears run and go and collect the job fast. When the time comes God will look at your faithfulness and give you a better one. If you are waiting for 500k job, to me you are a very lazy person and that job might never come. Even the bible says whatever your hand finds to do, do it dutifully. No be everybody go get 500k job. It is even possible that from there you may decide to create your own and make Mega bucks.

Bros,

I have a feeling you have not used this service before. It is not new. It has being around for about sometime though sometimes when there is a promo the base value drops from 7k to 5k. The trend is usually that as the days draw close to the date of the flights the prices increases towards 20,000 or more. So may be the days to the date u chose are close. Choose some far dates and u will get the advertised 6k. Cheers.
CareerRe: Best Paying Company In Nigeria? by tunene: 6:05pm On Dec 24, 2009
Yea, your friends salary is good. That is about the amount most oil company pay in Nigeria though slightly above that for 4yrs experience. When I say oil companies, I mean operators like shell, mobil, chevron etc and not saipem, Adamac, Ascot etc nor do I mean Schlumberger, Haliburton, or Transocean, though these last three pay well too.
If he is enjoying his career with Statoil, he had better stay. Another wahala with naija is you can not even enjoy your money effectively, if it is not Infrastructure problem, it is government issue, then comes thieves, robbers, kidnappers, they wont just allow you spend the money you worked for as you like.
CareerRe: Best Paying Company In Nigeria? by tunene: 5:10pm On Dec 24, 2009
First those guys abroad do not know what people in the oil industry here earn. they feel the money here in Nigeria is rubbish so they cannot come. I would have love to know how much he earns in Norway and therefore advice whether he should consider a job in Nigeria.

As per the issue of next two years, If things remain the same (which is not probable), then salaries in the oil industry is not an issue. But in the industry now we are drown in the ocean of fear of the unknown. There are so many issues - Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB), selling of some of the blocks to the Chinese (these ones don't even understand what labour law is), renewal of licences and several other politics surrounding the industry. One thing I know is that most of our "big men" especially politicians want to have oil blocks and they are trying to use the Chinese to acquire them.

What I think is that the Chinese will come with the idea of low salaries and large profits for the shareholders and I believe Nigerian government and the "big thieves" called men (politicians that have chopped our money) will accept. Remember so far every of our leaders have looted our treasury including Yar Adua.

All these are speculations. We are still waiting for facts to jump on our face.

Please my fellow brothers! Just wondering if a salary within a range of 15- 25million Naira is Realistic, for a British expatriate hoping to work in Nigeria? I'm a certified IET Chartered engineer with 4 years experience under my belt. Cheers!!!
Why not, it is very possible. From what you wrote, you said he is a chartered engr. Well a job in the oil sector can pay you more than that. I know an expat from Romania. He a CSWIP in welding and inspection, all he does is to oversee the nigerian welding and NDT QA/QC personnel and he double checks the films from the NDT and gives his reccommendation. This guy earns about 2m per month (though he is paid in Euro) in one of the producing companies. I know another expat that works with one service company, though he is at almost a management level, his salary is about 1.6m with other benefits for management staff based on the companies performance.

So my brother it is possible. Cheers. smiley
