[[s]quote author=CSTR2 post=37397936]These same daurans he is installing are the ones that have turned the north into a charity case.
The larger part of north is the backward part of Nigeria without any apology.
You can't keep surrendering your national future to their control and expect to move forward.
Haven't decades of unproductive northern governance taught you guys anything?
If Nigeria will be rescued at all, it will take creative and inspirational governance.
I don't see it coming from the north anytime soon .
Ordinary basic Education for their teeming populace there is still a big deal and you expect them to develop Nigeria.
Technocrats from the south is what buhari should be looking for, not continously dipping into the pool of ancient northern politicians reeking of backwardness .[/quote][/s]

Just came across this thread now.

Imagine the loss here.

VaselineCrew2:

Yes they do disgust me as well, the danfo drivers that is, however I'm not one to advocate for extreme and debasing measures such as using a whole countries military to curb traffic maladies, that's just absurd.

Be an advocate for civility as well, else what separates you from the danfo drivers you term to be uncivil

Advocate for police reforms, data logs, 24/7 traffic enforcement with patrol vehicles. Don't be an advocate for jungle justice just because you feel hurt.

That is it bro.
You made a very Valid point, police reforms. And there is a whole lot of work to be done. In present day the danfo association is a steady stream of income for the policeman on the road daily. Hence they turn the other eye

They have no regards for the police.

And Lastma, thats a topic for another day.

In conclusion its man cruelty against man

Why is everyone saying "You haven't driven on Lagos roads?"

As if we should now start killing danfo drivers.

You lot are disgusting men, freaking animals. Why stop here, why not have the military man assassinate him right there and then

Countries are developing at a high pace, instead of us to join that league and find lasting solutions to our problems, we'd rather take the brute force approach, which hardly every solves a pervasive problem anyways.

I will not lose hope in Nigeria though.

Oh Mr Disgusting me,
Please stop.
If you re-read your comment again. The Animals here are the Danfo drivers. And if you must bring how Countries develop into this discussion, ask yourself, if the Danfo drivers are behaving civilised.

Its people like you who would always feed the animals to keep growing into monsters on the road.

Mr Vaselinecrew2 have you been acousted by military men before for driving according to the traffic law?
Pls share your experience.

But am sure if you have driven well in lagos you would have fixed tail lights, side mirrors, reattached bumpers not to mention fixing dents caused by yellow buses.

If anything should disgust you, it should be the Danfo drivers.

Deal with that.

that is nonsense from the military. if anybody commit offense. then charge him to court for violating traffic law. not by intimidating civilian because u are in uniform. if they should exchange blow on one one can that soldier beat that danfo driver?

Knw ur right, knw ur right, if I hav a nickle for evrytime I heae som1 say dat. Truth is, more n more nigerians r becoming imformd man, most r jst afriad given the kind of country we live in where it is not abt ur rights as a citizen somuch as it is abt how much u hav in ur bank account. This is one part of the military am so ashamed of, neva mind this traffic problems one encounters wit dem, how abt the camouflage tin, if u somuch as wear a camo, ur dead meat, hav evn seen whr soldiers beat som1 up for having a camouflage handkerchief, a handkerchief for gods sake. Its abhoring!!!

The op should check himself into a mental facility for being insensitiv. I mean it in a good way

When you talk about knowing your rights, i believe you are talking about knowing your rights as a citizen against govt, corporate bodies/organizations etc,
What about citizen against citizen

The truth is there is no law in this land, and it is so bad that anyone can do anything to anybody and nothing can be done about it.

i live in lagos, Ikorodu. I pass drive through the dreaded IKorodu trafic every time, so i know what I'm talking abt. It's easy to applaud the soldier right now for serving a rootless pinishment on a guilty Danfo driver as judge and jury until it comes to your ow doorstep.

It's the attitude of the soldier that wrong. In his mind he says "who is this bloody civilian". Trust me this and attitude that's appluded by you right now, can lead to something else.

Soldiers are ment for the protection of the citizens, even the wrong ones. It's not his call to serve any punishment what so ever, unless he is required by law to do so.

I understand you now, you have a fixed mindset about how the soldiers behave and hence you comment. I have nothing against that.
However for the topic of discussion, there is a traffic Grid which the Military personnel are busy working to free up, and the lawless Danfo got out of queue and did their usual thing, Block it all up.

If you were the Soldier, what would you have done.

In this situation.

4 kind of people will support the danfo driver,
1- people who have never driven in lagos traffic
2- people who have been punished by the military for committing one offence or the other, hence developing hatred for the military
3- people whose car has never been bashed by danfo drivers
4- people who drive recklessly themselves when in traffic

The funny part is most of the people criticising the soldier would call a soldier to punish someone who offends them or intimidates them

You are The Man Of The People.

This is wrong. Nigerians I smh!!! Why on earth will a soldier force a driver to be rolling in the floor?? And the op is here saying "I want to use this medium to commend the Nigerian army blah blah blah..."

Even though the driver was wrong, the soldier has no right to pinish him like that. He could have simply handed him over to the police.

Nigerians know your right!!!

I want to take it that you have not driven in lagos before.

That said if truly Nigerians should know their right, "PLEASE ALSO ADVISE NIGERIANS TO KNOW THIER DUTY AS CITIZEN"

How many drivers have regard for pedestrians or even fellow motorist.

Drivers in Nigeria (especially Lagos) are selfish and don't just care.

So when they get served by those who just don't care about their rights too, its just about right.

Knock yourself out.

Though the law States that defaulters should be lambasted or sanctioned but I despise the way at which our military punish people. Handling and abusing people in the name of "THEY ARE BLOODY CIVILIANS".

in developed nations, you as a military can't start brutalising or bully someone because they are feared or appears stronger than you due to the fact that they are under the umbrella of certain immunity.

Dedicate this FTC to the victim jor!!!

Do people drive and behave like this in DEVELOPED NATIONS
Abeg lets handle our problem the way we are and stop this develop nation comparison.

CMS robbery is now a daily tin o.

its now a 50/50 chance of getting robbed. embarassed

i see them now every morning checking if cars are unlocked randomly.

the root cause are the buses that refused to make use of their car pack whilst creating a bottle neck at outer CMS junction.

unfortunately u will see latsma and police guyz extorting the bus drivers instead of enforcing them to stay in their park.

These telcos make massive profits despite the large running costs. Demanding quality service should never be optional.

You nailed it,
I get pissed off when telcos complain of high running cost.
I pay for premium service and hardly get value for my money, but since NCC is just a name, i will just suffer in silence.
