Manchester United recorded a 2-0 away win against rivals Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in a Premier League encounter played on Monday, February 17th.
Getting the important win put Manchester United back in contention for Champions League qualification from the league as they are now just three points behind fifth placed Tottenham Hotspur who face Chelsea next weekend.
Manchester United scored two amazing headed goals to win the encounter. Their first was just before the halftime break when Anthony Martial rose up to head in a delightful cross by Aaron Wan Bissaka.
They made it two when new winter transfer window recruit, Bruno Fernandes whipped in a corner kick that was powerfully headed in by Captain Harry Maguire in the 66th minute and they held on for the win.
The game was however marred with controversy as several Chelsea fans took to social media to protest that the Video Assistant Referee known as VAR is the reason they lost the game.
These images have been circulating social media to back their claims highlighting three different situations.
The first situation will be in the 21st minute, when Manchester United captain Maguire made a reckless tackle to the private area of Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi.
Without a dangerous tackle to a sensitive area of the opponent with studs up without a doubt Maguire should have been sent off regardless of intent as Tottenham Hotspur forward Son did something similar against Antonio Rudiger.
The second situation was in the 56th minute of the game. Chelsea were already behind looking for an equaliser. Kurt Zouma would blast the ball beyond David De Gea only for the goal to be ruled out as offside.
The official statement was that After consulting the VAR, referee Anthony Taylor has overturned the goal because there was a foul by Cesar Azpilicueta in the build-up. Replays however show that actually Azpilicueta was initially shoved and tried to regain his balance another terrible decision by VAR.
Chelsea were now down by two goals and in the 77th minute, they thought they pulled one back when substitute Olivier Giroud converted with his head but his goal was ruled out by VAR.
The official statement was that after consulting the VAR, referee Anthony Taylor has overturned the goal because Olivier Giroud was offside. This was a correct decision but the previous events only added to Chelsea's frustration.

A virus causing severe lung disease that started in China has spread to other countries, including the UK.

What are the symptoms?

But it is also unclear how many mild cases remain unreported - so the death rate could also be lower.

To put this it into context, about one billion people catch influenza every year, with between 290,000 and 650,000 deaths. The severity of flu changes every year.

Can coronavirus be treated or cured?
Right now, treatment relies on the basics - keeping the patient's body going, including breathing support, until their immune system can fight off the virus.

However, the work to develop a vaccine is under way and it is hoped there will be human trials before the end of the year.

Hospitals are also testing anti-viral drugs to see if they have an impact.

How can I protect myself?
The WHO says:

Wash your hands - soap or hand gel can kill the virus
Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing - ideally with a tissue - and wash your hands afterwards, to prevent the virus spreading
Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth - if your hands touch a surface contaminated by the virus, this could transfer it into your body
Don't get too close to people coughing, sneezing or with a fever - they can propel small droplets containing the virus into the air - ideally, keep 1m (3ft) away
How fast is it spreading?
Thousands of new cases are being reported each day.

However, analysts believe the true scale could be 10 times larger than official figures.

The number of cases is thought to be doubling every five to seven days.

The WHO says the outbreak, which it has declared a global emergency, can be contained.

But some experts, including a former head of the US Centers for Disease Control, say it could become a pandemic - a global epidemic.
