In an brief chat with Ife Salako of Naija FM, Five Star Music singer, KCee, revealed how he met his record label mate, Harrysong at a beer parlour in Lagos while he picked up TripleMG singer, Iyanya from a bar in Calabar.

Talking on how he met Harrysong, the Tinana singer said;

'I met him at a beer parlour. It was at Ojez in Surulere, I went there to chill with my brother E-money.
So a guy came on stage, took off his shirt and dazzled, we were impressed, sprayed him money and gave me my card to call me when we were leaving".

"By the time Harrysong came to the house, I had already brought Iyanya from Calabar because I also discovered Iyanya at a bar signing too, so I moved him to Lagos after speaking with his mum.

We registered Iyanya for the MTN project fame then he went for auditions in Calabar and he was picked.

I paid for Iyanya's first ever flight to Lagos, it was a virgin Nigeria flight, I remember".

Ruggedman who was elected as the Chairman of media for the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria, PMAN, in an election held few days ago and Pretty Okafor the president of the association has said change is about to take place in the association.

Speaking on why the election took place at night, Ruggedman said;

“Why do they have soldiers around polling stations when they are having elections? For the fact that you need to elect somebody, it means it is a position of power. It automatically means that there is always someone that would want to oppose the election. There would always be someone who wants to stop it. So to be on the safe side, we just wanted to do it in a safe environment. If you check the pictures of the event, you would see that we had delegates from almost 24 states. So it was not only Pretty and his executives that were there and we held the election. Also, I think it was just the hotel security men that were there. Nobody carried guns,” he said.


On Pretty not being qualified to head the association. He said;

“So because your father is old does not mean he is no longer your father. Do they want Wizkid or Davido to become PMAN president? To me, you don’t have to be an active musician to head PMAN. Is Buhari one of the soldiers fighting in Sambisa? But he is the commander-in-chief of the armed forces. It is not about being an active musician but what you have to offer. It is about you being a musician and understanding the art of making music. You need to know what royalty and intellectual property is about.”

About what elected persons would do, he said;

“I don’t know how vibrant the association was in the 90s but one thing I know they did not have is a proper structure. The structure I am talking about is the one that makes music pay, one that makes music interesting. It is a way to track downloads and airplay and make artistes get their royalties. If you keep working without being paid, you will not be happy. I know they do not have that type of structure in the 90s. Right now, PMAN is bringing in that structure. We have got the Federal Government, Microsoft, Airtel, NIPOST and other organisations involved.

“The reason Airtel and NIPOST were involved is simply for distribution purposes. When you register as a member, you register your songs as well. Each track would be encoded and the album would be bar coded. Then NIPOST would send it to all the states it covers for distribution. Marketers who want to get the album just need to know your release date; they just need to stroll to NIPOST to pick the album. Imagine a situation where you can walk up to any Airtel kiosk to buy an album. That is why we brought Airtel on board. This is what Pretty is bringing in,” he said.

Top Nigerian comedian, Julius Agwu who was recently admitted into a UK hospital for stress-related issues three weeks ago, has been finally discharged from the hospital and is currently recuperating.

His wife Ibiere took to social media when the news hit the net, to clarify reports and said: “Julius was admitted due to stress-related issues that necessitated proper rest and rehabilitation. By the grace of GOD Julius is doing well and receiving adequate care.”

Fast forward to two weeks after her update, Julius Agwu's manager, Bishop has spoken out on his condition. The manager revealed the former politician is no longer in the hospital ward as he takes his time to rest abroad, he said: “He’s doing very well. He’s going to take all the time he needs now to have the much-needed rest he’s allowed to elude him in Nigeria. He’s in great shape.”

This comes as a great relief to his fans who have since been praying for his health to improve.

Julius Agwu was reportedly admitted at Lewisham hospital, London following a relapse from a tumour in his brain, but all is well now and the comedian is back on his feet..Thank God

After 11months of musical silence, RCA records star, Davido has revealed plans to set the remaining months of 2016 blazing with music videos.

Davido in a recent video has revealed his musical plans to finish the year in style as his label, Sony Music has finally approved his EP: Son of Mercy, which will be dropping very soon according to the OBO.

Davido also confirmed the signing of Dammy Krane to his DMW label, in a clip shared on his snap. The video which was shot in the early hours of the day, starts with Davido praying and giving thanks to God for keeping him alive.

He spoke of his relationship with God saying he has drawn closer to God. He also addressed his long absence from the music scene, stating the all that will be changing now that Sony Music has approved his album, and he expects to drop 20 videos soon.

Davido has somehow stayed relevant in the very competitive music industry by featuring in 24 collaborations in his 11 months of not dropping a single. Fans eagerly anticipate all the good music Davido wants to share..

The Nigerian president, Muhammad Buhari has sent warning to filmakers against promoting violence and glamourising “sexual vulgarity” in their movies.

Buhari sent the message to the movie industry in a foreword written in a brochure titled “Nigerian Film Industry at a Glance” and published by the Africa Film Academy.

The president urged movie practitioners to endeavour to always project the country in a positive light.

The president said: “The Nigerian film industry that is now called Nollywood, in the fashion of the American, Hollywood and Indian, Bollywood started as the effort of a group of enterprising young men and women who traded on their talents and sheer determination without anyone paying attention.

“It has now metamorphosed into a big industry employing thousands of people, contributing to the national Gross Domestic Product and empowering a new generation of creative entrepreneurs.”

“Our government will continue to support the creative sectors of its economy so as to encourage our teeming youths while we enjoin our filmmakers to continue to project the image of Nigeria and the continent of Africa in a positive way through their story lines. Filmmakers should not make films for art sake. Films should be functional and socially relevant.”

“Filmmakers, whether local or those who come here to use our facilities, must however be sensitive to our cultures and religions. They must not glamourise violence or sexual vulgarity in all their forms. They must not promote racism or ethnic superiority or demonise any religion or culture.

“I want to see more films that celebrate our diversity, films that celebrate the achievements of our people, films that promote social causes of right to education, films that tells us the evil of domestic violence against men and women, films that inspire hope and faith in our country and humanity in general. I am confident that Nollywood would go from strength to strength.”

A budding show promoter has finally given up on his dreams and decided to channel his resources into furthering his education after Korede Bello and his management have forced him to cancel his upcoming show due to breach of contract on their own part.

The event organizer, Larry DJ Jolly, called out Mavin youngster, Korede Bello and his manager, Casper, after they allowed him to spend some amount of personal money to fly their UK tour manager, Akinolu Jekins, for a meeting but failed to keep their own part of the agreement.

Larry revealed in a press statement that this is not the first time he is getting disappointed by Nigerian singers as had a similar experience with Tripple MG star, Tekno.

This recurrence with Korede is however the last straw that broke the camel's back as Larry has decided to quit showbiz and promise never to do business with Nigerian artistes.

In his press release shared on social media channels, Larry Said;

I am sorry to announce to you the canceling of Korede Bellos Club Show in Zürich on The 1st of October 2016.

The Manager of Korede Bello Caspertainment could not deliver me a Video Confirmation as agreed in Exchange for 3000€ (75%) of the total cost of 4000€ of Korede Bello.

I used my own money to fly his UK tour Manager Akinolu Jekins from London to Basel on Wednesday 14th of September 2016 And WE spent 5 Hours together.

The last song fans heard from the HKN star was ‘The Money’ featuring Olamide on November 7, 2015.

The hit track ‘The Money’ was even released to usher in a new era as it was meant to precede the release of Davido’s sophomore album.

The ardent fans thought they got their reward when Davido announced on all his social media accounts that September 9th will be the release date for his EP: Son of Mercy and his song with american singer Tinashe only for their hopes to get bashed once again, when Davido said 'It was not his fault, that he can't drop his song again'
 
His fans are now worried and according to a poll shared on twitter many believe Sony Music is holding their Pop star back. And their reason can't be blamed, since despite the fact that he hasn't dropped a single song in 11 months, Davido has featured on 24 different collaborations with many more unreleased collabos.

These hit collabos according to Pundits is one of the only reason the RCA records star has managed to remain relevant in an industry where a blazing flame today has no guarantee of a shining tommorow. Ace comedian, Basketmouth has finally decided to break his silence over the robbery incident that took place at his Lekki residence days ago.

When the robbery operation was taking place, Basketmouth reportedly did not call on security operatives to avoid a shootout, neither did he announce the incident on any media. OBO star, Davido took to his Snapchat yesterday to vent his frustration at getting his latest music project, Son of Mercy double EP, pushed back by his new record label, RCA Records and Sony Music after them deemed the project incomplete.

The EP has been taken back to the studio according to the offical news page of the Ekuro singer, as an opportunity to better amplify the songs presented itself.

Davido apologized to fans on his Snapchat early yesterday morning after his label gave him the Ill fated news. The distraught singer, told fans that it wasn't his fault and that he had given it his best, begging all his true fans that have been waiting for him to drop a single in 2016, while stating that the news ruined his week.

The heavily pregnant beauty had her baby shower over the weekend that was filled with friends and family member who came to celebrate with her and husband, Bovi.
