naptu2: Eyadema visited Benin in 1974 (I have the pictures somewhere, I've got to find them). However, Eyadema was the President of Togo, while Mathew Kerekou was the President of Dahomey/Benin.His first visit was much earlier than1974. It could be sometime btw 1971-1973. |
naptu2: When was the name "Dahomey" dropped and when was the name "Republic of Benin" adopted and why?sometime in 1973 the then military Dictator of Dahomey visited Nigeria. Came to Benin City with his entourage, his name Is ,...my spelling might not be correct. Eyedema. Was received by oba Akenzua at the palace. He and his contigents were orientated to the essences of the Benin heritage. In the process they discovered their root. When they got back to Dahomey, they changed their country name to the republic of Benin. Your truely was material witness at the reception in the palace. And their subsequent change of name was attributed to their discoveries on that visit. |

The national government need to for once take a brake from their loots sharing preoccupations, alias reocurring expenditures and solve a pending problem. Like some have said here, cattle rearing need to be brought to date. Cattle farmers need stationed bases (ranches) to rare their animals. And they need to buy feeds, grass to raise them. This will create employments opportunities for grass growers (farmers), and the logistic to convey them to the ranchers. Our institutions of higher learnings , like colleges and departments of agrics should be engaged by federal govt to help the fulani cattle normads to modernise their ways. This can be done by giving them land in the north with bole hole for water at a very low interest rate. Lot of people whom are now unemployed can help themselves by sourcing for hayes, and other animal edible grasses for sale to the cattles ranchers. Modernization Is a win, win for all. The federal govt need to weigh in. And propell this need for change and growth. |
@op. I did not mean anti-transplant rejection drugs cause paranoid disorders.what i mean Is that some beneficial medications do have mental side-effects. You did not answer if you are on any medications. Certainly, some medical conditions made you required new kidney. And you must had been on some medications to manage the disease process. And these medications could have mental side-effect. Though I've heard of overt/covert mental tortures as per the link you supplied, but I cannot see what could be the reason why in your situation. So, what medications are you presently taking? And what disease damaged your kidney? If you list your meds use history, I might be able to help you. |
Homeboy need psychiatric help. Go see psycho-analyst for help. Are you on any medications? Like anti transplant organs rejection therapy? Some of these pharmceuticals do precitipates paranoid delusions. |
These and many other reasons Is important that the south should get their acts together. The igbo , yoruba disconnect Is forever opportunity for these vultures from the north to pick naija carcass clean. Is very evidence, that these people has no love for nigeria. Their loyalty Is only to their imaginary muslin (islamic) brotherhood or nation. Most of their fake naijaness have already been pointed out. If they had monstered half the efforts they exudes now to fully unite their communities against bokoharam, BH would have been history, but they hadn't and won't, becos deep down in their hearts BH are doing the right thing. These people wants and need to have their own islamic country yesterday, today ,tomorrow and forever. Anything short of that, we are forever embrace in an unending disharmony. The yorubas, and igbo need to look forward and stop fighting about yesterday's issues. Igbos need to know their limits, and stop stepping on others toes. If, We southerners can get our acts together there will be no chance for these hypocrites, religion zealots, to hold nigeria politically hostage again. |

Now I know why Obama didn't visit Nigeria. America do their home_work. They know of this woman alter ego. This Is not the sort of person Mitchelle should rub shoulder with, and dignify her already inflated ego of self. I won't be surprised that she and her handlers might have tried to invite Mitchelle Obama to one of those their first ladies conferrences that were not honored. I read she had parkinson or alzhiemer. Either of which has a degenerative mental dementia syndrome. She need to get proper help she need and save US national embarassments. |
@OP. ....If the lattest video was staged by imposter, why not show the authentic photo of the terrorist beside the imposter's picture to prove your point? |
That Is an art. A scurpture. It takes more than carving a man to create a man with life. Vehicles Is much more than the outer casings. It Is the power that matters. For those interested in developing vehicles, work on the power dynamic forces, like engines (motor), transmissions , or parts of them. That Is the brain. Then you will be on the way to creating a mobility. What you have there Is like drawing, carving, or scurpturing a butterfly and then claiming you create or make a butterfly prototype. No, you are an artist. Not an engineer. Congrat for your effort, hope it will be a source of funs for some children, if no dangerous sharp edges that can injure them. |
I see, with the intention to show case lagos to potential international investors, it makes lot of sense to clean the city of dead beats, and destitutes . Go on Fashola. After all first impression Is priceless. |
Points of corrections ....lagos like Othe r states , not mother states. Also the last word in my post Is ........me. l am from Edo state |
The handwriting Is on the wall. Nigerians are indigenes of the localities of their various states of origins. It serve US all better to open our eyes, ears, instead of our mouths. Lagos state, as other states Is not a" no man's land". It has its indigenes, statutories law and orders that it govern itself within the national constitution. At a point in time , wether rightly or wrongly, it was referred to as everyone land or Non man's land because of the federated territory within the state. But today Is no longer so, so, the statutory territorial integrity of the state must be respected. Who knows, tomorrow, Abuja might not be a federal capital.it too could be absorbed into a neighboring state or states that will want to establish orders that conform to their desires. So, it behooves US to act with a tenative cautions, because there Is nothing In the nigeria constitution that make a hausa an igbo, or an Afema man an Ijaw etc. Even if you are born or live in the locale all your life.save for those of mixed parentage. That Is the hand writing on the wall. Should, must, be respected until it Is otherwise. Even as such, the states Will determine the criterias by which it will accept or admit a non-indigene to an indigenous resident status.so I will advice We should man our own ships and respect the laws as it Is now. Nigeria belong to all , but a particular place of it belong to m |
Fashola Is not well exposed, He Is a wanno-be. Therefore, a fake. Wole soyinka elected tradition wears make him look like a sage that he Is. As for the OP, he Ish sorry God created him black. |
Bebe wrote, "Dis pple funny o, the ones in America prison triple dat.. Young lady, your guess is astronomically off. If you mean USA, it wouldn't be up to 500 nation wide. And over 99.9% are white-collar and drugs related crimes. The others are domenstic related incidences. I never heard of a Nigerian arm-robber, burglars, or car jackers in Usa. They don't have tolerance for guest criminals or jail birds. Foreigners of questionable moral turbetudes are promptly deported. |
Well this Is a mixed bag. On one hand, it smell fishy. On the other hand it seems applaudable. As this will reduce traunces in the cities, and over supplies of labor for inavailable opportunities. People should get back to basics. Learn to make themselves usefull in a more humane environments. Our cities are too congested with idle folks looking for mugus like vultures. Basic farming, cash crops farming in a seditary clime can substain family.other governors should borrow a leaf from fashola, to reorganize their teeming aimless labor force.our labor supply should be properly managed. As for the destitutes, since We don't run a welfare state, I think the responsibility Is for our family or kin folks to bear the responsibilites.short of that, beggars should be conscripted to labor-camps where they can be made usefull under the supervision of the state or private organs like the church etc. |
In few words. Don't do it. Is rediculous. No wonder our society Is endermic to intractable diseases. It Is sacreligious to introduce anything from the lower (inferior) cavity Into the upper (superior) cavity. Rivers, like the human body flows downwards. Down stream Is dirty, don't drink from it. |
If We don't manage the needed changes, the need for change will over take us for a possible catestrophic end. Minor dangers of wasting minds are already manifesting in the society as the various vices we hear about or witness. It Is not going to get any better. Unless there Is avenues for people to put their minds in productive uses. |
Some wise ones said the only thing that is constant and inevitable in this our world are changes. So Is left for US to guide and manage our changes. Nigeria today , as presently constituted Is crying for a change. This country will never trive until needed alignments are instituted. Autonomous states, whether the previous 4 regions or the present 6 geopolitical zones with less powerful and dictatorial central unit will be better than this oppressive federal system We have now. Mind Is a dangerous thing to waste. This our country as it is , waste minds. |
Endless possibilities. This Is what weekly sitcom series are made of. Every Week different resoluctional sceneros unfolds. Meanwhile, the irresponsible notouriety of the governor will become famous. Writer should do something about this. |
Cassava products , especially without sugar are better than wheat and other grains products for your health. Cassava Is gluten free. And has a very low glycemic index for those watching their sugar intakes, it Is a great substitute for wheat. ; |
One thing Is clear, i will not vote for jonathan again. I will also actively campaign against him. However, buhari Is not an acceptable alternative. Jonathan complicency in his wife's arrogantly usurping of his presidential power Is evidence of his weakness as a leader of substance. |
@kolado, Read my text well, sorry my grammar is not too good, and my spellings you should ignore. But , I am not for first lady medling in national politics. She should mind her husband domestic affairs. So reread my edited version, not your quoted one |
As an independent, and non allied observer of this issue, I see that governor Amiechi governance had left more to be desire by his river's state constituents. And as such he need to be rained in by the right constituted authorities. Impeacment by the bicameral of state elected representatives, and/or the judiciary process of correction. If these local bodies are unable to act, the federal or national equivalent should hold the governor feet to the fire. The president need to mandate these authorities to perform their duties. The first lady have no constitutional duty. She Is unelected, and as such she Is to! be seen and not to be heard in political discuse. She can work behind the scene to influence her husband. She Is not a vice , nor a deputy to the president. The first lady Is not a presidential cabinet position. She Is the wife of the president, and the mother of her children. Mother of the nation? No, Is not by right. But a previledge she have to earn by living up to virtous standard of motherhood. Exemplify by how she manage the first family affairs. And others find it worthy of emulation. |
This Is a wellcome development. In fact, the boko menances require armed adults populance of both sexes to protect their hoods. The civil society should not just be sitting ducks for the criminal elements to prey on. Legalization of arms should be seriouly considered. Criminals already are armed, the law abiding majority should be armed too. The official forces cannot do the work alone. |
Stu-pid joke. That thing there Is not 4kg (8.8ib) . I cannot believe this rubbish. |
^^^ He was a white man. I suspect a red-neck Texan to booth. The signs were conspicously displayed at the beginning of the lines, stating whom the queues were meant to serve. Seeing me in my africa outfit, he profiled , I must have missed road. Granted this was early 2002. A few months after the 9/11 incident. The borders were tightly on edge. No, I wasn't wearing the agbada, I bet he would have called sargent marcgraw the dog to sniff me for a possible suicide bomb. |
Thank you proffesor W. Soyinka for being a truth teller. I did not know pepper-soup general Buhari this deep. I was nursing him as possible alternative to the present. But, after your enlightenment, I see this bigot,, only good for prosecution and incarciration for the crimes he has committed. Buhari need to die in prison not in Aso-Rock. A shameless bigot . |
