The cost depends on the qualification of the Dr seeing you. 40k,60k and 100k to 150k for antenatal with medical officer, senior registrar and consultant respectively. Delivery 80k for VD with medical officer. I can't remember the cost for CS but it's between 200 and 250k.
I don't know of a cheaper hospital. Maybe missionary hospitals would be cheaper.
God bless you MA. Thank you very much.

Okay thanks. That what my mum feeds him also. But pls how many times a day should I feed him with DAT?
Better to feed on demand as their Tommy retains only a little at a time, try to put him to suckle as much as possible and relax.

Your breast milk will flow mine took almost two weeks to flow so well I was irritated by the way it will just soil my clothes all of a sudden and I will just be smelling of breastmilk. I had my baby through CS so bathing was just cleaning my body it didn't feel like bathing.

For now you could give him breastmilk first and then if not enough give formula please make sure there is no "jara" on the required formula quantity.

Things have been ridiculously expensive since this month started.
Tomatoes here is 2k for small dustbin basket
Potatoes is now 1500 for small dustbin basket
Egusi that I used to buy 100 Naira for one cup is now 250 Naira per cup
for the Egusi my aunty bought the un peeled one cheaper but I do not have the time to do the peeling or have someone to do same.

You could try the unpeeled one If you have someone to help peel.

Good that you have equally confirmed the right injection site.
Based on findings, just take it that you haven't received the meningococcal conjugate vaccine. Since it wasnt administered correctly, it wont get absorbed/circulate as it should hence rendering it ineffective.
Wait for an interval of 4wks before taking another one i.e. if your son has reached the appropriate age for taking it.
In addition, be more vigilant when your son is being immunised. As for me, especially with all this expensive vaccines that come in single packs, I collect the pack sef, read everything especially expiry date before I allow them open it.

God guide you always.

Thank you enque, FloraEC and jazzyjazz for the replies.
Thank you Ma I feel much better now, God bless you and all other mama's that replied. I will be checking expiry date now and reading like kilode. cheesy

Dear Nairaland mummies m back again. I asked d question above and I was advised to introduce baby formula. Since d day I introduced that formula to my baby. He has not poop. We r using Nan. Is he reacting to d milk? What could b wrong?
It's always said to give water when giving baby formula, and also it's 1 level spoon of Nan to 30ml of water. This is in case you are not already doing so.

You're right sis. I will add that mamas should endeavour to use the Internet to their advantage. Read up ahead so you understand more about your Lo.
For instance, in your case., rota vaccine is given orally. It is not an injection.
I agree about reading ahead I had to do a course on immunization (still on it) both was orally given but the container for the wrong drug was syringe like although meant to be given orally. that of the Rota was like our normal lip gloss container that is tube like and has a cover.

I kept asking myself what if I didn't read about it or know the name of the drug. I would have said he was given Rota nah plus the N8,000 payment.

God will help us.

however the good side to the story is we don't get to take the wrong drug given as he is supposed to take it at 10 weeks and its N4,000. we will only require the booster much later.

I just hope its the same teething stunt Moyo pulled a couple of years ago.

Please who knows any home remedy for mumps aka shegede.... cry
this is not an answer to your question, I just wanted to advice other mamas to be sure of the immunization being given to their babies.

I had to go for the 6 weeks immunization on Tuesday and because it's one of the nurses that sells it was a hidding something another nurse administered a wrong drug the meningococcal conjugate if not that I was reading what was written on the syringe I would have thought she gave Rota Virus vaccine, I told her it was the wrong medication and insisted even when she tried to convince me she gave Rota before the Nurse selling came to say it was a wrong one and gave Rota. We ended up taking two and I had to see a pediatric to be sure the meningococcal conjugate was safe for baby and was cleared it's OK.

Please be absolutely sure of the drug being given and ask questions because you will be the one to bear the consequences if the drug administered is not the right one.

Dunno yet. I tried giving her egg vegetable sauce last night and she refused, she ate the cooked potato and unripe plantain very well but screamed like I want to poison her when I gave her the sauce. Her shakara can too much, someone that'll eat chin chin, groundnut, tiger nut even fried breadfruit but will be doing shakara for food.
Mama, I really don't know how old your baby is but tiny food like groundnut, tiger nut is not safe to give little children because they could choke on it. I had an experience of a toddler who had groundnut and choked on it he had to be rushed to the hospital and was referred to a specialist hospital. Sad thing he came to stay with his grand ma.

Congratulations ma'am, May your Son continue to be a source of joy to you and your family.

Please I have few questions to ask, I'm rhesus negative too and I'm 24weeks gone (period calendar).
I have done the ICT thrice since conception and I tested negative.

Is it possible to still test positive before childbirth? tho I intend going for the test every month.

Can I take the Rhogam shot at 28weeks even if I'm still negative?

When is the best time to take the Rhogam shot?

Thank you and God bless you and yours.

Cc All Sabi mamas ( Mbok chook mouth if you have an idea)
Good day ma,

on your question the rhesus factor come to play when your lo is rhesus positive than there will be an interference likely.

In my case my first hospital did not even say anything about rhesus anything even when I asked the Gyne he was pressing his phone and said bye until I insisted on an answer and he wrote out a drug I should go to H-Medix a pharmacy in Abuja to ask if I could take the drug in pregnancy. I didn't go. I changed hospital at 26 weeks and the Gyne took his time to explain the effect and asked me to come back for the test at 28 weeks the result was negative then and I was told I will do another one at 36 weeks which came out weakly positive and had to do an emergency CS.

My advice:

If you are comfortable doing the test monthly its fine otherwise I would think there are specific weeks chosen to do the test medically. However unless the test comes out positive there is no need for Rhogam until within 3 days after birth.

A pregnancy with positive ICT would be monitored and the Rhogam can only be administered when the pregnancy is too young to be delivered, the Rhogam will still be given 3 days after birth meaning 2 different shot (got mine for N38,000, please try and get one because I was told it is scare and it has to be refrigerated so you buy and leave it in the place you paid for it till you want to use it. if you don't have one already). This is the doctors job anyway they know what to do when it is positive. Yours wouldn't be this way.

Being a Rhesus negative mama it is important your blood level is good boost your blood level very well, blood is expensive and hard to find, I was transfused at 30 weeks 2 pints 1 pint N15,000 plus abeg 2nd pint dh had to donate to swap with someone who had rhesus negative blood. As I was admitted for malaria and anemia in pregnancy.

Other sabi mama will throw more light. God's grace in pregnancy cheesy
