number13: OK, who are the people on front page that someone here referred to as potentially emulation-worthy? LoooooooL anybody can be on FP.. FP is the REAL world.. Full time bashers, full time pranksters, full time comment bookers, smart, intelligent, VERY DUMB, VERY irrational, VERY FUNNY people.. All kinds of humans.. To get ur comment seen easily on FP.. It requires u been like the first 20 person to comment..just luck sha. If u are tribalistic and ur comments appear on FP.. They WILL SKIN YOU ALIVE. only if u are ready to fight back.. But that's s.hit anyways.. |

Well err.. For pure beginners like me who want to improve their German knowledge..
You will find these two apps very useful.
1) Duolingo **download it from Google Playstore or Apple Store
2) Google Translate. Download the German pack as well.. It's about 250mb...
Duolingo is the highest rated app for languages on Play store.. Trust me it's sweet and interactive.. Good for beginners..
Google translate.. Does more than translate.. One cool feature.. U take a picture of a German writing let's say on a wall or in a book.. And it's translates it real time.. Quite cool innit?
Download them both on Play store or apple store.
Cheers.... |

Williamso: It is not a sub as I reference you and Obiwann's posts in it, directly.
Bothered? Not really. Just believe we should be bigger than certain things. You may be surprised when/if you find out the ages of those people on FP you wish to emulate.
Anyway, whatever rocks your boat. I don't wish to emulate jack .. I don't even comment on Front page sef.. I just read it, laugh, shake head sometimes and ignore.. This is the only page I've really been on.. Because well I needed help from it nd I got it fully well.. |

Williamso: People body too dey hot for here. Am I the only one who doesn't take life (NL) seriously? I've been on NL for 7 years and never had an e-quarrel for a day! People should learn to ignore petty things - more like sifting the grain from the sand. Instead of firing back; it puts you on a higher pedestal. As far as I can tell, that language quote was simply expressing how difficult it is to get fluent in a language from scratch.
^^^^^^ The 2 posts above, Were those subs really necessary? This is my sub.. To me it's necessary.. Are you bothered about it? |

Time to drop my opinion after ignoring for some days..
People come on here to get answers to solutions from matters they are facing..
But UNFORTUNATELY what they get is bashing or yabs sometimes with the solution coated with it **but everything don spoil as u don add yab**. This is absolutely unethical.
I'm not going to mention any name.. But the same person did it three times to different people as far as I observed . |

xtonuns: Please my people, I need your expert advice on this. I plan to pay for an intensive german course program and will prefer to take the lectures in german since language is learnt fast in the environment it is spoken. I have intensions of taking a professional german course for an advanced training after this. I don't know if the embassy will grant me a VISA to travel for the German courses since I don't see the possibility of taking the language courses in Nigeria. I want to book an appointment after payment on this with the embassy. Will this work. I need to know if the embassy issues a year VISA freely...is it easy after u have met all the requirements, from all i hv read on this thread, it seems they prefer people to take the language course in lagos if that's the only reason I wanna travel. Thank you all for your expert advice in advance You got a very SOLID advice from obiwannn.. Just JEJELY APPLY TO THE PLENTY 'ENGLISH ONLY' taught courses in Germany.. Infact many don't even ask for any German language ish. Haba BROTHERLY THE LANGUAGE YOU WAN LEARN YOU GO STILL KNOW AM WHEN YOU ENTER GERMO. GUY ENTER GERMO FEST using English taught courses.. U go sabi German any how yaga yaga. Why worry about language when u never even sought admission? |

Interview was on point >>>>>>>>> I'll give y'all break down later and critical tips... OK now.. I'm back.. First of all... The Nigerian VO woman ain't scary.. But she no like disorganised documents at all.. Infact she bounced two people temporarily cs they didn't organise their documents.. Dem come dey do am for her front.. She bounced them na so I enter o.. Gave her 3 sets of documents.. I used that tiny paper clip to hold the 3 separately.. She really was impressed.. Infact she said it was me and one nairaland boy on here that have impressed her thus far. So she Starts with How did you know about the school? What are your AIMS of ur proposed course? **she asked like twice to be properly sure** What did you submit to your school? Hmm you are you going to (city) .. Tell me about (city) . I. E she asked about the city. How many semesters is ur msc course? How many years is ur msc course? Have u gotten accommodation yet? She will ask where if u say yes. Why Germany and not UK!? She wanted real answers o.. You could see the intent in her eyes. She asked again why Germany and not UK or US. Have you been to Germany before. Do u have relatives in the UK? What uni did you go and what did you study? Is your msc course thought in Nigeria? Why do u want to study this PARTICULAR course Omo she asks allll questions. Her own interview dey TEY o.. But e sweet well well if u sabi.. Cs she add dey jara big timer. Her jaras are on fleek.. She sabi gan forget. Her own interview dey well over 40 mins. What are your parents profession? What why u doing after service. Where are you working now. Who is the Chancellor of Germany. Name the 16 states in Germany Name the countries that border Germany The Nigerian woman is quite cool to be honest. But sha arrange ur documents well or else she go shine better red eye for u.. Even bounce you temporarily. SO NOW HERE COMES THE CRITICAL PART.. TO ACE YOUR INTERVIEW LISTEN GOOD.. JACK YOUR MOTIVATION LETTER PROPER. IT CONTAINS UR AIMS AND REASONS TO STUDY IN GERMANY If YOU WROTE A GOOD ONE O. that will save u from unnecessary information u might be checking about ur course and other sometimes irrelevant information. ANOTHER CRITICAL DO PERMUTATION AND COMBINATION ON INTERVIEW QUESTIONS FROM 1) Eke40seven 2)kennyoguns0509 3)Ahbbiey 4)Obiwannn 5)Adenjnr. PRINT OUT THEIR INTERVIEW QUESTIONS THEY POSTED HERE AND MERGE THEM! SEE LISTEN GOOD I PICKED THOSE 5. You can pick any other peeps on here that dropped potential questions as well. GET FAMILIAR WITH ALL MANNER OF QUESTIONS. You will answer questions without stress if u do this. . this is another tip for THOSE FINDING HARD TO READ FOR INTERVIEW. GET 3-5 FACTS ABOUT STARTING FROM MICRO TO MACRO 1)YOUR SCHOOL 2) THE CITY OF YOUR SCHOOL 3)THE STATE OF YOUR SCHOOL 4)GERMANY doing these you'll ace the side by questions. Let me stop here for now...... To that nairaland guy I saw today.. Congratulations the VO was feeling you |

dolpaz: Oga,
Stop confusing people here nah. I vividly remember Obiwann bashing you for this.
I was at Stanbic bank, Allen Junction with Kennyoguns to make the transfer. we were asked to use the Dorm option cos form A is meant for school blah blah blah.
Days after, he enquired from union bank head office and he was asked to do the following
1) open an account with them 2) Transfer the money 3) Bring supporting documents
And 72 hours Later, his account was debited and his db was credited.
That being said, I realized I have a very close cousin of mine who's presently working at Stanbic IBTC head office. I approached him in the office and he told me he's even the one in charge of sending the cash. He even Joked at me of "running to germany" lolz
Anyway, after series of discussion, he showed me over 6 transactions which he has carried out and I also verified it myself.
But unfortunately, he said he could not help me because my admission letter was not signed, hence he cant do anything. he can only process the money if the account holder has an account with them, has a "Signed" admission letter, and other supporting documents.
I begged and begged but he said no, because that's the bank policy. Unless, I have gotten another job for him.
To cut the long story short Mr twinkle. stop mis-leading people. not everyone can afford the extra 200,000 by using Dorm account.
If it doesn't work for you, It may work for others, At least over 5 people have used this method here and it worked.
CBN has nothing to do with the case here. The bank will need to Buy Forex from the Apex bank and initiate the transfer.
My advice for swtxt is to open a stanbic account, transfer the fund to her account and initiate the transaction with other documents.
Others may contribute, but as for me, I rest my case here.
Gemeinsam Sind Wir Stark Pls how did I mislead anyone.. I simply told her to weigh her options.. Mention her nd tell her what to do.. I'm fine already.. |

Williamso: @swtxt and twinkle1
Why not open an account with Fidelity or Union that have worked for several others? I'm just of the opinion that the stress involved with going about this will pale in significance to the cost a dorm account will incur... Just my opinion Bro I really want to clarify this.. There are no several others that did form A for personal account funding. Max it was 2-3 people.. May be 2 sef. Bro I can tell you that many people have been using the dorm since. In fact if u ask some people in Germany they will ask "which one is Form A"? . Like I said.. For her.. This is why the money transfer ish will start.. Fidelity has one weird required no German school will write for any international student to fund jack.. Na only if u want use their logo and forge letter. I will say this again. You guys need to know the difficulty in this Form A from almost all Nigerian banks. Even CBN workers are shying away from it. It's not fair some people will just come and say shebi so so and so did it oya start transferring ur money. Let me tell you sef.. Someone that claimed he did it listed banks that do it. In fact he named Skye bank and Stanbic. In fact it's these two banks that even disappointed me and that lady. Mind you we even contacted HQ union.. They said we should use dorm. @swtxt see didn't I say it you will get replies that u should transfer ur money to another bank. To be extremely honest if it works.. You will save ur self of 200k+ that's 'if'. Tell ur mum u got info on nairaland that they said it works. Well If she can do it. I will be very happy for you. |
