Very true boss. I guesss she's very right then. I'll just advice her to do something that revolves around that course first, thhenn shift base after graduation. If she can do something like criminal justice or psychology, or what program. Do you think sshe can go for as a prerequisite.
Those are weak. These are not technically significant programs that you cannot get in your own country. Why spend millions of naira studying psychology in the US when you can do the exact same here for far cheaper? Think what the VO would say...

Chief Oludare, Please is it possible to go for a bachelor of Law program as an international student from Nigeria. I have a distant sis whos looking in that direction but have repeatedly affirmed that international students are not privileged to study law in the US, i'll like to confirm if this is true from you plss. I'm more of a study in Canada Freak so i'm not well detailed in this respect. Also, will she need to run SAT and IELTS exams to be admitted to any school in the US?
Surgee
how would studying US law be useful to her in Nigeria?

About time the government should consider devaluing the naira. This is really sad. It appears that there is no coherent currency policy (how can there be when the president is on indefinite leave in a foreign country).

Hello house,

Have been wondering of late the cause of the drastic drop in transcripts in this our noble house and I begin to ask myself, are people no longer travelling or visiting the US Embassy ni or is it that this recession and fear of losing 54,400 within a twinkle of an eye has made people to slow down on their travelling to the states? Abi the fear of President Donald Trump and all these his gragra EO's on immigration don scare our people from going to uncle Sam's country?

I was checking out interview dates some days back and guess what, you need to see how very close dates were just springing up as first earliest dates like calls girls in a competition for suitors. Some were just three days away from the day of checking at the Almighty US Embassy in Lagos that a times, the closest date you could find for lagos will definitely be a month apart from when you were checking! It was then that I realised the reason why transcripts no longer fly left, right and centre so often here again.

Biko my people, we need your transcripts here so as to keep the ministry of this Nobel house moving.

God bless and grant all visa applicants unmerited divine favour in their visa interviews.
I'm not quite clear where God said he was in the business of granting people "unmerited favor" for a visa. What is "unmerited favor"? Granting you a visa even when you are clearly not qualified for it or when you knowingly present false documents or lie at a visa interview?
TV/Movies › Re: Man Says Northerners Were Excluded From The Wedding Party Movie, Nigerians React by TWoods(m): 11:35pm On Feb 20, 2017
This tweet is a sad encapsulation of all that is wrong with Nigeria. Rather than use this movie as a standard or inspiration to create something with northern content, the tweetee is busy complaining that nollywood has not included the north. At some point, Nigeria has to move beyond merely "sharing" resources and forcing "federal character" into every facet of our lives in order to "carry the north along". If the North cannot carry itself then its about time we rethink whether they should be part of our nation at all.

Unlike the ignorant musings of the tweetee... this movie is NOT a representation of Nigeria. It is simply a private enterprise whose goal is to make money... this silliness reminds me of the days when Garba Lawal had to be shoehorned into every Nigerian football team all in the name of "federal character".

Good day fam. I've been trying to get my transcript from my school. But it's been proofing to be impossible. I'm considering changing my choice of schools. Are there schools that accept just statement of result for graduate studies?
No serious school will accept a mere "statement of result". Anyone can forge that. Get your school to send an official transcript.

Apart from this wildly talked about incident do you have anyother like this online? not the Canadian one.... it is a violation of your digital privacy right for them to demand password to your account,Social Media... they can ask for the username not the account.
Because we are from Nigeria does not mean that we don't have right... You can ask for your right and attorney but they won't tell you that at POE.
I was at the POE in Newark barely a month ago and watched this happen to two people live - one a European and the other an Asian lady. At the POE, you really don't have any rights at all. Fair warning.

They can search through your phone if there's no password on it(Unlocked) but asking you for password of your email accounts, instagram, twitter etc You're free to ask for your right oooo and what to do.
You're seeking entry to a country that is not yours. You have no rights, well except the right to board the next available flight back home... where you would then be free to refuse to give your password to anyone.

CBP officers at the POE have the right to ask for your phone, passwords, scan your social media sites etc. This isn't new policy. The bill in question simply intends to codify this in law.

Pls,what's the procedure in renewing an expired US greencard in Nigeria? Urgent pls
I think the question is how long have you been away from the US?

If the answer is far less than 1 yr, then you should be able to travel on the expired card. You will be given a I-551 stamp in your passport and you can then download and fill the I-90 form when you're in the US.

If its longer than 1 year, then your problem isn't that you have an expired green card, but whether that green card is even valid at all. If this is the case then you can forget about getting back to the US as a permanent resident.

https://www.uscis.gov/green-card/after-green-card-granted/renew-green-card

That took all of 2 seconds to find.

In a statement, Banks said, "We must have confidence that those entering our country do not intend us harm. Directing Homeland Security to review visa applicants’ social media before granting them access to our country is common sense. Employers vet job candidates this way, and I think it’s time we do the same for visa applicants.” The bill would also require Homeland Security to interview every visa applicant who is 11 years old or older, conduct a fraud-prevention check of each applicant’s documentation and require that applicants provide an English translation of their documents.
I wonder how many Nigerians will get visas if this is passed.

This will be the only area so far that I will agree with this administration on. The Indian tech industry messes this category of visa up badly.
In a sense, the addition of the country quota for employment based green cards has been a blessing. For virtually everyone outside of china and India, the EB2 and 3 categories are almost always current or at worst a few months behind. This means you should not have to wait more than 1-2 years to get a green card. Thanks to the Indians, it takes them up to 20 years since they have simply overwhelmed the h1b system. As of now, 80% of h1b visas are issued to Indians... that means your chances in the lottery are smaller than 30% if you wish to work in industry. Hopefully things will change soon, Im hearing the lottery system will be abolished by next year which will make things fairer for all with regard to getting an h1b visa. The downside is that there is a push to increase the salary limit for $60k to $100k, which means you must earn that amount in salary for you to qualify for an h1b.

Its not rocket science, that how it is done. I don't even have problem about spoon feeding but for our own good its always better to be proactive and learn how to fish rather than being fed. Its this same Grad cord that make the most of the decision about hiring TAs. No one is saying people shouldn't even ask questions because ignorance is not an excuse but we should try to direct the question to the right authority and if we are not satisfied , ask other people.I am very sure the grad cord of all the schools i applied too then have never received the numbers of email they received from me, from one single individual even though some of them never replied while some replied at the speed of light, its after i don't get a concrete answer from one or two then i call people like Sirriddy just to have a 2nd opinion because he was doing the same thing as me..We neeed people, a tree doesnt make a forest. You can never over-emphasize the gains you get from building rapport with Grad Cord. After all these epistle, some people will still come here and say ''at times they are scared to ask questions here''...You shouldn't be scared, people are just advising you based on their own experiences, its now left to you to take it in good faith or hold grudge.
You sef see am? If for say na me hala now, dem go talk say baba dey harsh. Kwantinu. grin
