Actually its quite easy to read old posts... it takes a click or two. I can't stand frauds saying insincere prayers. Yeah sure... you'll still depend on "god and favor" to come up with your next trick.

cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy Actually i can afford my wife having a baby in the United States, it just happens to be free if you have health insurance.

God save u dat just wise took dwn my comment.if not u ll just go and hang ursef. Let me leave u for Anoda day
Why would i hang myself because of what a faceless fraud has to say? I don't need to fast and pray to get a visa to have kids in the US... i can do that easily and for free... you should be more concerned about yourself.

You remind me of something VisaOfficer said a few years ago...

VisaOfficer:
I'll share the newspaper article when it comes out.

This case is especially frustrating to me because it's a Nairalander -- and someone who has written about praying for success in the interview. If I can be personal here, it really drives me crazy when people fast and pray that their lies and false documents will fool us. It strikes me as an outrageous misuse of prayer and fasting. It radiates contempt for the interviewing officer, for the United States, and for the Third Commandment. Seriously, if someone can explain to me why it’s all right to ask God for His help in being utterly dishonest, I would love to hear it, because it’s a total mystery to me.
It is also a total mystery to me too... perhaps you can explain. But i won't hold my breath. Its a shame that more than 3 years after she expressed that sentiment, things have not really changed. Its no wonder that the VOs never bother to read your letters of change of intent, revoke your visas willy nilly, subject you to degrading questions at the consulate and POE...

I read through your posts, obviously you had the same experience. But you fraudulently took advantage of the slow nature of communication between foreign consulates and the USCIS to get past the POE - of course you ended your post by saying "it was just God". Well the VOs have learned their lesson, they'll be waiting for the next innocent woman to come their way.

TWoods dishonest you say, that's your business o, she's only going to try her luck and if she's allowed to enter fine, if not fine too, you're not a woman so you don't have the maternal instincts that kicks in to be able to do whatever it will take to give the child the passport if within means or if possible.

FYI fasting and prayer has worked for me and i'm not responsible for the healthcare system in Nigeria now so like I said before swerve
That's not trying her luck, that's just being devious. If you're told that your visa is revoked, you do the right thing - re-apply. If everyone of us endeavored to do the right thing, we would not be in a position where we have to fast and pray for a visa in the first place. Using "maternal instinct" as an excuse to commit fraud just doesn't wash with me... especially when it is followed by the admonition to "fast and pray". Fast and pray to whom? What a joke.

Give or take another 5 years and the USCIS is likely going to change its procedures to stop pregnant women from visiting the US altogether... and it will be because of people like you. But of course, you would have had all your kids so you wouldn't care anyway. You'd still be "fasting and praying" of course.

Fasting and praying has not worked for you... it doesn't work for frauds. You're simply fortunate that the Lord still lets the rain fall on the good and the bad. Yes you're not responsible for healthcare in your country, but considering most of your leaders share the same attitude as yours, its no surprise you have to lie your way to have your baby here. Good luck.

Swerve please undecided I wasn't talking to you. Of what use will fasting and prayers be? then ask your God that question, it isn't for me, i've been seeing you jump on people's comments please don't do fastest fingers for me.
if you would love to speak in private, there is an email address you can use, i'm sure.

For all your fasting and prayers... you seem quite intent on running off to have babies in the country of people who don't bother with such hypocrisy. Your "god" didn't provide decent healthcare for you in your country? Such a shame.

You just encouraged someone to be dishonest... in the name of "fasting and prayer". Obviously your "god" isn't worth the paper his name is written on. I would ordinarily have passed by your comment, but people who couch their proclivity for dishonesty with false christianese particularly irk me. As i mentioned before, feel free to keep private discussions where they should be, off a public forum.

Hubby: for our honeymoon
Vo: do you have children
hubby: No.( but i was 2months plus pregnant. He didnt ask me if i was pregnant so i didnt bother telling him. Besides we were just going for honeymoon.)
Vo: what do u do. And where do you
Hubby: ........
Vo. What does your wife do and where does she work
Hubby: ..........
Vo: sorry your visa has been denied under section........

January 5th 2017 i decied to apply again. This time around for b1b2 visa and alone. Same Abuja.

Vo: why do you want to go to the Us
Me: for child birth
Vo. Do u know how much this trip will cost you.
Me. Yes. Slightly above 13k USD. ( tried showing her my budget sheet. But she said she didnt need to see it)
Vo: what do u do
Me:.......
Vo: what does your hubby do
Me: .......
Vo: have u traveled before out of nigeria
Me. Yes to SA
Vo. How many months is your pregnancy
Me. 6months gone
Vo. Madam nothing has changed from your previous appliation and now. When it changes apply again.

I felt very said. I decided i was going to apply again.
But no more in Abj now in lag. So today 30th of january i decied to apply again. My appointment time was 7.15am. It rained i even got soaked. On the queue i saw how they screen a pregnant woman in front of me then denied her. The elderly woman i was told usually give denied almost every1. I was really scraed. Then a young guy at window 4. Gave a couple and a single lady. It was my turn same window 4.
Vo. Goodmorning. Where in the Us are you going to
Me. Houston texas
Vo. What is happening there
Me. I am going for child birth.
Vo. How much have u planned for this trip
Me. Slightly above 13k USD( tried showing him my budget sheet. He said please just hold on)
Vo. Where does your hubby work and how much does he earn
Me . I told him.
Vo. Where do you work and how much do u earn
Me. I told him. ( he kept on typing)
Vo. How did you know about this hospital
Me: referals from friends and research and because of the good reviews we got we decided( i and my hubby) to use this hospital
Vo. I can see u have been denied twice in Abuja why did u come to lagos.
Me: well Abuja airport will be shut down from next week i plan on traveling from lagos once i get my visa. Thats why i just came straight to lagos.
Vo. Ok
He kept on typing. Then handed me a denial papper..

Please what do u think went wrong. Is there something am not doing. because people are saying i should apply for emergency interview.is there anything like that. And please if i apply will i still stay in lag. Will they say am desperate. I will be 8months in 2weeks. Please help.
It might be that the VOs are not satisfied that you earn enough to compel you to come back to your current jobs? Other than that, i can't think of a reason why you would be denied. I'm not sure that you will be successful with an emergency interview either - it is not an emergency if you simply want a visa to go have a child in the US. You can try again... but be mindful of appearing desperate which will only make things worse. Others have ideas?

Brother thank you for this. I really don't know the details of the case beyond the story made into film Orange is the new black but your explanation makes for a sensible reflection.

I always knew it was wrong for a souverign state to just bundle her own citizen to another country without benefit of doubt.

Guilty or not, China will not even entertain such. Even if you present them with the most glaring evidence.

I may not like Kashamu as a person but he is a Nigerian no matter what. The only thing I can sign off a Nigerian for extradiction is corruption. Its only because it affects my country and her people negatively.
Can you imagine someone like Kashamu becoming a top government official in China? He would long have been executed.

Alhaji Dantata's daughter. Dr. Hanatu Dantata, who is currently studying for an MBA at Johns Hopkins University, cried out on Facebook today on Trump ban! She vowed to exit the U.S and pleaded for an immigration attorney to help her navigate through these immigration storms to complete her studies and exit the United States with her two kids.

The panic on Trump ban is sending shockwaves to many Nigerians living in the United States (both legally and illegally!

-CramJones
Mrs. Dantata... Donald Trump was elected as a president for Americans and hence he has no obligation to you. If he so wills, he can terminate your studies by executive order and you will be deported promptly. Its funny, why aren't you here in your country studying? Are there no universities here? At least in America, you have a judicial system to protect you... thanks to your father and his acolytes, can the average Nigerian find a lawyer to protect them from government abuse?

There you are, in the land and school another man built, seeking protection from the justice system he designed. What did your father leave us in Maiduguri?

It's really sad reading so many uninformed post on NL. Dick Chiney was indicted in the Haliburton bribery scandal, the US did not ship him to Nigeria to answer to all his crimes. Why we are so eager to throw Kashamu under the bus is what I don't understand. Even the British refused to extradite the same Kashamu to the US when he was in their custody. Why should he go to the US when we all know he won't get a fair hearing in that country?
Dick Cheney was indicted but there was no case to be made against him... that is clear. In the US, even presidents are made to pay for crimes. In Nigeria we make our own criminals senators... that is what is uninformed.

Before you can extradite a Nigerian citizen, it must be sanctioned by a court of competent jurisdiction. You don't just pick people up on the street and ship them to God knows where.

And yes, he was tried by the US authorities for the same offence in the UK some years ago and he won the case. They want to try him all over again in the US for the same case simply because they couldn't manipulate the British court. The principle of double jeopardy will apply and that is why NDLEA cannot approach a Nigerian court for an extradition hearing. They have no case.
The US has made an extradition request, they have not asked to pick him off the street so i don't see where their request is illegal. Second, the principle of double jeopardy does not apply because he was tried in a british court... the current indictment is in a US court... a completely different legal jurisdiction... so how is that double jeopardy?

Frankly, only in Nigeria do we vote ex-convicts who are under indictment in other countries for fraud and drug laundering into our senate... and we're surprised the rest of the world considers us a joke.

Kashamu cannot be extradited until a competent court in Nigeria says so. American court does not have jurisdiction over Nigeria. If the US justice department and the NDLEA are so convinced of Kashamu's guilt, they should institute an extradition case against him and let the court decide.

And for those commenting without understanding the history of the case, I urge you all to Google and read the two separate judgements delivered by British courts as regard this same case. Extraditing Kashamu illegally to go and answer another case in the US will be a violation of the principle of "double jeopardy". In law, there must be an end to prosecution.
How is extradition illegal? It is a clearly legal law enforcement tool.

Second, what principle of double jeopardy? There is no double jeopardy to be charged for one offence in the UK and a separate but similar offence in the US.

You can't obtain a visa for a holiday/conference then fail to use it for that reason, claiming you just discovered you were pregnant AFTER you obtained the visa. You will be questioned at the POE why your intent changed. VOs and CBP officers at the POE have seen these same excuses from Nigerians ad nauseum. You do not want to get flagged for having abused a visa.

the sadly dire quality of most Nigerian youths is aptly captured in the above post. I read the OP's post with great interest. That interest quickly gave way to despair reading the incoherent, unserious and frankly poor quality responses that followed. If this thread is a microcosm of the level of intellect that our youth possess, then its no surprise that Nigeria is set for a few more decades in economic obscurity. Its a shame that such an interesting post is followed by nonchalant attitudes.

Hello house, happy new year. I posted sometime ago in December that I had a tourist visa but later changed my mind to use it for birthing. I was advised on this platform to either go for the vacation and workshop i intended to use it for first or take the risk of writing a change of intent and pray to God that I am not sent back. Eventually, i registered for another conference in January and I traveled to NY for the purpose of attending the conference/ short vacation. I spent 3 weeks and i'm back. So here are my questions;

1. Do I still need to write an intent letter to the US embassy here?
2. I am due in second week in March, hope its not too soon if i travel back second week in February cos i left NY January 18.
3. Do they really confirm how much you have on your card at the POE? so i can prepare myself.

Thank you.
VOs actually read these threads... people like you are the reason that they no longer buy many of the excuses Nigerians give today. Obviously the initial "workshop" on which your visa was granted was false.

But you all serve a "god that never falls" though.

Please see link from Fragomen, a major immigration law firm in the US - https://www.fragomen.com/knowledge-center/immigration-alerts/president-trump-suspends-entry-foreign-nationals-seven-countries

In addition to the entry ban, the executive order reportedly suspends a visa interview waiver program that was in place at U.S. consulates worldwide. The waiver exempted some visa renewal applicants from an in-person consular interview. The suspension of the interview waiver applies to all U.S. visa applicants regardless of country of nationality or citizenship, and means that wait times for visa interviews are likely to increase significantly. Only in rare cases, such as visas for foreign diplomats, may the State Department exempt an applicant from the personal interview requirement.
