How do you know what I have achieved in my life? How do you know what anyone else here has achieved in their lives?

I'm getting married to the love of my life, I have a job I love soooooo much. The Good lord has always been on my side through TWO not one deployments in the middle east. Hey what more can I ask for.


I'm a proud member of the UNITED STATES ARMY and a proud graduate of University Of Texas. I will always take does achievements to my grave and if you have a problem with that, go blow yourself with some TNT for all I care. JUNIOR ROTC and (Reserve Officer Training Corps) is the samething. it's a college Elective which you can take in High School just like ENG 1010 and a few others. Do you actually beleive that? he's gotten everything he could have wanted, or you think the recent loss of congress to the democrats concerns him? He's president for the next two years, gets to go on permanent vacation and blame anything that goes wrong on the democrat congress. He's gotten Saddam who "tried to kill his Daddy" and he will not stand trial, at least not outside the shores of the US. Even the democrats who hate him will not allow that. I jointed the Military in high School (ROTC) because I chose to not because I did not have anything to fall back on dumbass. Oh shitt I could get a job in the private sector making more with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering than what I make in the ARMY true, but money is not every thing.

I've always wanted to be a soldier all my life and I'm enjoying every sec of it. Is that not what it's all about doing something you enjoy?

Yes he is right that the US congress has to approve going to war, which they did and did not. I believe the congress did approve "[url=http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/D?c107:7:./temp/~c107y8kN3c::]the use of force against Iraq[/url]", not technically a "declaration of war", but even I would interprete it as a signal to send in the guns.

Lets not forget Tx is in the military too, self-doubt on the field of battle is tantamount to commiting suicide, introspection is not exactly a virtue when you are being shot at. Besides I think he's stating that the US congress is also to blame for the war Iraq as well, despite their protestations to the contrary.

Oh thank God someone understands how the system of checks and balance works in American Government. If the congress had not approved going to war, the President or his cabinet members can not send troops into Iraq. so how do you blame the president alone for the war. if you have to point fingers, the senate, the house of Rep, the CIA, the NSA, the British Intelligence,Military Intelligence, all had a part in going to Iraq not just the President. For some of you who don't know, the President(Executive) Branch of our Government has only limited power in running the Government.
     
I know some may say hey if the war is not going as planned,  how come the commander in Chief don't pull out our troops, again i tell you this, the President can not wake up one morning and do what ever he pleases, if his Generals and Advisers think it would be a good idea to start redeploying troops, I'm sure he has to OK that.

Our problems here in America is that we have been spoiled to believe that war is something that can be done in a couple of weeks with very limited casualties but it don't work that way in the real world. Also the media only shows the horrible side of the whole story and nobody ever shows you the good job young men and women are doing in Iraq. That's OK though cause the tell you to expect that when you sign up.

Just for your information, the American president decided to go to war against Iraq. He concocted lies and fabricated a lot of claims about Iraq's nuclear capabilities, which many Congress members eventually also stated that they were decieved. The UK parliamentarians also indicated that they were decieved by evidence presented to them by the Prime Minister, evidence which was doctored to justify an attack on Iraq.

Since you are displaying such ignorance, I would want you to know that the premise upon which Iraq was attacked was nuclear capabilities. After it was realised that Iraq had no such thing, the attack was justified (attempted justification) with the deposition of Saddam Hussein.

Besides, the head of Government is George Bush and the buck stops at his desk.

You chose to call me a fool for starting a thread and as I restrain myself from insulting you in return, I must however point you in the direction of your semantic ability going by that post.

George Bush is to blame for all the innocent men, women(some pregnant) and children murdered in Iraq!
His attitude and speech as well belied his war mongery approach to life.

My friend the same evidence about Iraq's nuclear capabilities and WMD was put before the United Nations, Congress( Senate and the House) and it was voted on. The president of the United States did not go to war without the approval of congress.
