A giant three-legged crocodile has been wowing the Web after a tourist photograph capturing its freakishly large stature emerged online.

The striking creature named Brutus - which looks as though he is a special effect in a film - is said to be a starring attraction of a riverboat cruise in the Adelaide River, Australia.

Although some photos critics have questioned the legitimacy of the shot, the sightseer and the boat company have claimed that both the monster crocodile and this photo are indeed real.

At 80 years old, the 18ft-long saltwater croc can be seen leaping out of the waters of the Adelaide River to retrieve a slab of raw meat.

Bystanders in the photo look in awe as Brutus, who is believed to have lost his front right leg during an altercation with a shark, makes the awesome jump.


Katrina Bridgeford, who took the amazing snap, told the Northern Territory News: “When it came up out of the water there were a lot of Oos and Ahs. I wasn't expecting anything like this. I couldn't believe how close it got to us. If you had put your hand out you would have been able to touch it - if you'd dared.”

Gordon Brown is "shocked" by allegations that his family's personal details were hacked by News International journalists, his office has said.

The Guardian has claimed the former prime minister was repeatedly targeted by The Sun and the Sunday Times, which allegedly hacked his voicemail, obtained his bank details and his family's medical records.

Among claims made by the broadsheet are that details from his son's medical records were obtained by The Sun, who published a story about the child's serious illness.

A spokeswoman for Mr Brown said: "Gordon Brown has now been informed of the scale of intrusion into his family's life.

"The family has been shocked by the level of criminality and the unethical means by which personal details have been obtained. The matter is in police hands.

"The police have confirmed Mr Brown is on Glenn Mulcaire's list. And some time ago Mr Brown passed all relevant evidence he had to the police."


His wife Sarah has said she was sad to learn about the allegations, writing on Twitter: "It is very personal and really hurtful if all true."

A former aide to Mr Brown has questioned how the Sun, when News International chief executive Rebekah Brooks was editor, obtained details of his son Fraser's cystic fibrosis.

Speaking on Sky News Jeff Randall Live, David Muir, one of Mr Brown's most senior advisers at No 10, said: "They were

contacted by Rebekah Brooks, who told them that they had information that Fraser had cystic fibrosis, which was a matter that they, the family, were just getting their heads around at the time and dealing with.

"And you've got to remember this is just after they had suffered the bereavement with Jennifer (the Browns' first child, who died soon after she was born) as well.


News International (NI) has responded to the allegations, saying it is "comfortable" that stories obtained about Mr Brown's children came from legitimate sources, according to Sky sources.

The publisher owns The Sun and the Sunday Times - it also owned the News Of The World which it closed last week amid allegations of phone-hacking and illegal payments to police officers.

The Guardian says there is also evidence that a private investigator used a serving police officer to trawl the police national computer for information on the former prime minister.

It claims Mr Brown was targeted during a period of more than 10 years, both as chancellor and as prime minister.


The Guardian says its investigation found that some of the activity was obviously illegal while other incidents breached his privacy but not the law.

It also says Abbey National bank found evidence suggesting a "blagger" acting for the Sunday Times posed as Mr Brown on six occasions and gained details from his account.

The paper further claims Mr Brown's London lawyers Allen & Overy was "tricked into handing over details from his file by a conman working for the Sunday Times".

However, Allen and Overy has told Sky News it has never represented Gordon Brown.

The Guardian article says: The sheer scale of the data assault on Brown is unusual, with evidence of attempts to obtain his legal, financial, tax, medical and police records as well as to listen to his voicemail.


"All of these incidents are linked to media organisations. In many cases, there is evidence of a link to News International."

A statement from News International said: "We note the allegations made today concerning the reporting of matters relating to Gordon Brown. So that we can investigate these matters further, we ask that all information concerning these allegations is provided to us."

In 2007, Clive Goodman, the News Of The World's royal editor, and Glenn Mulcaire, the newspaper's private investigator, pleaded guilty to hacking into mobile phones belonging to members of Prince William and Prince Harry's staff.

NI, the newspaper's publisher, then commissioned its own inquiry into phone hacking - widely understood to be a collection of emails rather than a report.

The Guardian claims a source at News International told the paper that five people at the company saw the report.


Tom Crone, News International editorial lawyer, was named by The Guardian as one of those who saw it.

Mr Crone has denied the allegation, telling Sky News: "I had no involvement in the 2007 internal inquiry which involved the e-mails.

"Not only that but I didn't even know about the inquiry until 2009. I was not made aware of the e-mails until the last few weeks.

"Finally, the evidence I gave to the Commons committee in 2007 was truthful as far as I knew it."

Furthermore, Sky News understands former NOTW editor, Colin Myler, who was also named by the Guardian, also denies having seen the 2007 report.

You will not fully understand sanusi without a full psycho analysis of his persona.

I have been studying sanusi for a long time and over the years i have come to the conclusion that he is an inconsistent and confused person.

He is moulded in the image of a very few liberal northerners like Nasiru Elrufai, Dangiwa Umar and may be the late Bala Usman of ABU Zaria. Comfortable in wearing western suits and confident in the command of the English language.  And of course able to go against some norms in the north, like his wife accompanying him to the senate hearing etc.

But by and large he is still gripped by the image of Islamic activism of which he was an active member in the late 80s Whose aim was to establish sharia rule in Nigeria by violent means if  necessary.  It is this crusading zeal and mindset that he brought to the CBN. His so called fearlessness stems from this and of course his royal arrogance that makes him to regard everybody as a bloody commoner.

While trying to confront them is going on, effort should be put in place to tighten our borders, most of these guys doing this are not from Nigeria.

Even as we all are writing here, i can say that not all here are genuine. We may even have some boko haram members here who are also reading and commenting. So how do we as Nairalanders distinguish between the genuine ones here and otherwise.

Lets not forget that according to the news, the group had the temerity to engage the military in a gun fight. At such, how can the military know who is who? And what the heck were those 'civilians' doing at that point?

This issue is beyond the way some of us think it to be. Lets support the military by giving necessary information rather than making noise.

What this civilians dont know is that they are feeding a shark that will one day bite them.

It is nt in our character for women to go to hotels alone.

What kind of man would let a woman treat him like this for 30 years and not take action?  I have no sympathy for him, if he has no relationship with her his children should be the important thing, unless he feels he won't be taken seriously as an ambassador without a woman on his arm. 

If he was my father telling this story I would be ashamed and embarrassed.  He knew she was bad tempered but went ahead and married her, even having 4 or 5 children with her.  Which one of them is the bigger fool?

According to Title 12 of the Uniform Commercial Code of Federal Regulations for Banking and Banking requirements, often called Reg D's if I'm correct, Chase bank had a right to close his account without his consent. Overdrawing your account isn't a crime, obviously you will pay over draft fees (get over draft protection); however, willing and knowingly issuing an overdrawn check is a CRIME. In addition, as courtesy of some banks, when the banks sees that you have a pattern of issuing overdrawn checks, you will be notified via certified mail to stop and then banks will put alerts on your account. There are process followed before it become evident that you are purposely issuing a fraudulent check.


Also keep in mind that the bank waited to close his account after he got a direct deposit; after the deposit it WAS CLOSED. The man doesn't have any business with the bank other than the Bank had a duty to remit the man's money and this was done using a Cashiers Check. The Cashier's Check had the date, his name (payee), the payer (Chase Bank's recon dept), and most checks because they are bank notes issued by the bank, often carry Check ID, and Cashier's Check do carry a "verification toll free no" on it. What the cashier does is upon receipt if the check, verify the ID against the name, I mean perform the verification into the system by run the MICR number into the system to verify the account, you can also call the toll number on the check and reach the dept, they WILL verify the authenticity of the check and give you an authorization code, so that when the check is processed into the system, the AUTH code is entered to allow it for payment.


In my own assessment, they bank CLEARLY CHOSE to discriminate against him, and regardless of whether he issued wrongful check or not is " after the fact" and should be allowed to pay punitive and compensatory damages. As for the police dept, under "normal circumstance" they CANNOT hold you for more than 24hrs without charging you with a crime, and for them to charge you, they must have "probable cause" to do so and overwhelming evidence to support it. Besides, they held him up to 4days? Unless the court authorized this, and he did not have a lawyer to defend him, the police dept should be enjoined in the suit as well if he was to sue. This is his golden chance to be a millionaire, I'm certain that under the UCC of Fed Regs, the statutes of limitations hasn't expired.

IMO, because Chase Bank operates on Federal statutes and laws, I will take my case to a federal court with a Jury; I'll take my chances with the bank.
