I just got this message now from Dir_Lasues stating that
" LASUES has resumed for 2009/2010 session. Admitted student should visit lasues.org to print

I'm yet to confirm this until i get to my campus tomorrow @ "agege".

I am really sick and tired of trying to print out my notice of admission on-line because it makes me go afraid when i get "ERROR". If there is anybody who has gotten his/hers printed i would be very glad if some light could dropped on this issue.

RUUD VAN NISTELROOY looks certain to complete a shock return to the Premier League with Liverpool in the next few days.

SunSport also understands the striker's Real Madrid and Holland team-mate Rafael van der Vaart may also join the Reds on loan until the end of the season.

It is a dramatic double swoop as under-fire boss Rafa Benitez desperately seeks to turn around a disastrous season.

Former Manchester United idol Van Nistelrooy, 33, is out of contract at the end of the season and is out of favour at Real.

The striker wants to resurrect his international career and go to the World Cup with Holland this summer.

He knows that his first-team chances in Madrid will be limited as he is behind Gonzalo Higuain, Karim Benzema and Raul in boss Manuel Pellegrini's pecking order.

The only remaining detail to be sorted out is whether Liverpool will pick up the hitman's whopping £140,000-a-week pay package.

Benitez wants Madrid to pay part of his salary but the Spanish giants insist on getting him off their wage bill.

Moving to Anfield gives Van Nistelrooy the chance to get regular first-team action and push his claim for a call-up.

The Dutchman knows he will have to take a pay cut to get a long-term deal at Anfield - but first he will have to convince the Merseyside club he can still produce.

Chelsea Stuns Wolves With Four Goals To Nothing

CHELSEA recorded their 1000th league win at Stamford Bridge and made it a year since their last defeat at home.

It also equalled a club record 10th home clean sheet in a row as a Florent Malouda blast, a double from Michael Essien and a second-half strike from Joe Cole, saw them romp past woeful Wolves.

Chelsea extended their lead at the top of the table and the scoreline could have been even worse for Mick McCarthy’s team had the dominant Blues not wasted a further glut of chances.

Carlo Ancelotti sent out a side without the likes of Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba, Deco and Michael Ballack but they tore into Wolves from the off and the points were bagged by the halfway point of the first-half.

Malouda opened the scoring in the fifth minute with a 25-yard drive and Essien then scored twice in 10 minutes, the first a near-post header, the second a low drive that slipper under a disappointed Wayne Hennessey.

Wolves rarely had a sniff and manager Mick McCarthy spent much of the half shaking his head in disbelief at his side’s reckless defending. Blues keeper Petr Cech did have to pull off one fine save in the 39th minute when he denied Sylvan Ebanks-Blake.

Cole kept the rout going in the 56th minute. Nicolas Anelka squared for Salomon Kalou, who touched the ball back for the midfielder to unleash a low shot which again squirmed under Hennessey’s body. It was Cole’s first goal since October 5 LAST year.

The driving rain wasn’t dampening Chelsea’s party atmosphere and defender Alex could have got a rare goal but cushioned his volley straight into the arms of Hennessey from Malouda’s cross.

Anelka made way for substitute Gael Kakuta, with the youngster making his first-team debut after being the subject of a controversial ‘tapping-up’ drama which could still see FIFA freeze the Blues out of the transfer market until 2011.

Essien almost claimed a hat-trick in the 63rd minute but his shot was palmed on to the top of the bar by Hennessey.

Chelsea: Cech, Belletti, Alex, Terry, Ashley Cole, Essien, Mikel, Joe Cole, Malouda (Matic 69), Anelka (Kakuta 59), Kalou (Borini 78). Subs not used: Hilario, Ivanovic, Zhirkov, Paulo Ferreira. Goals: Malouda 5, Essien 12, 22, Joe Cole 56.

Wolverhampton: Hennessey, Berra, Craddock, Stearman, Halford, Edwards, Henry, Castillo (Kightly 53), Surman, Ebanks-Blake (Keogh 62), Jarvis. Subs not used: Hahnemann, Elokobi, Milijas, Foley, Maierhofer. Booked: Craddock, Keogh.

Robinho Ready To Resume Duty

Robinho is set to make a surprise return from injury for Manchester City at Liverpool tomorrow, according to a report from The Manchester Evening News.

The Brazilian’s lay-off with a stress fracture of the leg was expected to last a little while longer, but it seems that Mark Hughes is ready to hand the controversial star a place on the bench against the Reds.

Robinho sustained the injury on international duty in August, and has been repeatedly linked with a move to Barcelona in the meantime.

According to team-mate Roque Santa Cruz, the forward has spoken openly of his desire to move to Catalunya.

Nevertheless, Hughes, although reluctant to risk the player from the start, seems likely to name him as a substitute for a game the manager has claimed could be a defining point in his side’s season.

Chelsea keeper Petr Cech was sent off as Wigan recorded their first ever victory over a big four club and ended Carlo Ancelotti’s 100% record as Chelsea boss with a 3-1 victory at the DW Stadium.

Titus Bramble broke the deadlock, heading in Charles N’Zogbia’s 17th minute cross before Didier Drogba scored his 100th goal for Chelsea to equalise after some comical goalkeeping from Chris Kirkland.

But the turning point was when Cech brought down Hugo Rodallega in the penalty area; referee Phil Dowd pointed to the spot and gave the Czech ‘keeper his marching orders. Rodallega dusted himself off and netted from 12 yards past substitute ‘keeper Henrique Hilario.

Chelsea went down to nine men at the end when Ashley Cole was injured and all the Blues’ substitutions had been made, and the Latics took full advantage, Paul Scharner netting the third as Wigan completed the historic win.

Goals from Dimitar Berbatov and John O’Shea fired Manchester United to the top of the Premier League for the first time this season, as the champions cruised past Stoke City 2-0.

Stoke offered little but United struggled to find a goal until the introduction of Ryan Giggs after half-time. The Welshman set-up Berbatov for a tap-in before his free-kick was met by John O’Shea to seal the victory that puts Sir Alex Ferguson’s men top of the table on goals scored.

A stunning Fernando Torres capped a dominant display for Rafa Benitez’s Liverpool side, as they destroyed struggling Hull City 6-1 at Anfield.

Torres’ sweet left-foot strike opened the scoring after 11 minutes but his effort was cancelled out four minutes later by Geovanni’s volleyed equaliser. The Spanish striker put Benitez’s men back ahead with a superbly-taken second, before sealing his fourth hat-trick in Liverpool colours just after half-time.

A long-range Steven Gerrard effort and two strikes from Ryan Babel completed the embarrassment for Phil Brown’s poor Tigers side, who have conceded ten goals in just two games.

Captain Robbie Keane bagged an incredible four goal haul as Tottenham got their Premier League campaign back on track with a crushing 5-0 victory over Burnley.

The Irishman put Spurs 1-0 up from the penalty spot, converting after Andre Bikey had brought down Jermain Defoe. Jermaine Jenas’ deflected effort doubled Spurs’ lead before the prolific Keane added a hat-trick of second half goals to complete the rout at White Hart Lane.

A last-gasp David Dunn penalty gave ten-man Blackburn a 2-1 victory over in-form Aston Villa, as Sam Allardyce’s men came from behind to record their second win of the season.

Gabriel Agbonlahor scored for the fifth game running, John Carew setting up his strike partner to side-foot past Paul Robinson, but Christopher Samba equalised after some confusion in the Villa box.

Vince Grella was sent off after receiving a second yellow card for a clumsy challenge on James Milner but when Richard Dunne handled in the box in the 89th minute, Dunn was on-hand to slot home the spot-kick and hand Rovers a precious three points.

Bolton escaped from Birmingham with all three points as Chung-Yong Lee struck late to seal a 2-1 victory for the Trotters.

Gary Megson’s side followed-up their midweek Carling Cup victory with another win, taking the lead when Tamir Cohen headed home Kevin Davies’ flick-on in the tenth minute. Substitute Kevin Phillips looked to have salvaged a point when he rifled a home an 84th-minute equaliser but two minutes later Lee was on hand to break Birmingham hearts.

Louis Saha’s goal handed Everton their first away win of the season and condemned rock-bottom Portsmouth to a seventh straight Premier League defeat.

Struggling Pompey showed a fighting spirit that has been absent for most of this campaign and had chances through Kevin-Prince Boateng, Tal Ben-Haim and Aaron Mokoena, who hit the bar late on. But Saha’s seventh goal in all competitions this season, a cool finish after a superb piece of control, proved enough to seal a 1-0 win for the Toffees and pile the misery on under-pressure Pompey boss Paul Hart.

Sports / Smack Down From Real Madrid 5 - 0. by tysante(m): 12:27pm On Sep 21, 2009
In nine days Real Madrid notched nine points in league and Champions League action. The count started against Espanyol, continued in Zurich and concluded with the victory against Xerez.  Cristiano Ronaldo (with four league goals to his name), Guti, Benzema and Van Nistelrooy found the back of the net on Sunday to put Real Madrid at the top of the table. www.box-18.com

Real Madrid and Xerez had never met in league action prior to tonight. Adding to the excitement of the match was the reappearance of Sergio Ramos, who played his first match of the season and proved that the tendonitis in his left Achilles is a thing of the past. Other changes with respect to the starting eleven in Zurich included Garay teaming up with Albiol and Marcelo on the back line. Gago covered the absence of Xabi Alonso in the midfield and Benzema took position in attack in place of Higuain.

The match began as expected. Real Madrid laid siege on the opponent's box and before the first minute had ticked off the clock Cristiano Ronaldo had already perforated the Xerez defense. The Portuguese fired between two defenders and beat Renan. The second didn't appear to take long in coming. Cristiano Ronaldo had a go from the top of the box and Raul received the deflection, but Renan managed to make the save and subsequently got a hand on a shot by Kaka. It was easy to think that Xerez would cave in, but on the contrary. The visitors dug in their feet for the long haul.

Xerez gained possession of the ball and had several attempts via free kicks. The first was taken by Viqueira, who managed to find the crossbar (10’). The Azulinos took advantage of corner kicks and fouls to draw closer to Iker's box, but if Albiol and Garay couldn't thwart the offensive, the Madridista keeper would. Though infrequent, Real Madrid's efforts were much more elaborate. Raul's left-footer following a pass by Marcelo (41’) was unsuccessful, and Xerez followed with header by Aythami, but the score didn't change and the teams headed to the dressing rooms for halftime.

Xerez continued strong in the second. They had come to the Bernabeu with the intention of having fun, which happened to  be one of their best assets. Pellegrini's men meanwhile wanted a second. Kaka nearly had it but his final pass on the goalline was intercepted by Aythami (48’). Xerez tried their luck with a combination between Armenteros and Maldonado but were stymied by Casillas (52’). Manuel Pellegrini replaced Raul and Kaka with Granero and Guti, who didn't take long to drive the Xerez back line mad. But first Cristiano Ronaldo capped off his brace with a header following a corner kick by Granero (75’).

With little time to retake position, the Azulinos conceded the third. Cristiano Ronaldo curled in a pass, Benzema missed the shot on two occasions, and Guti was there to clean up (78’). Completely devastaed, Xere still had two more to give up. Benzema scored the fourth after a pass by Van Nistelrooy, who had only been on the pitch for three minutes, and then the Dutchman himself completed the smackdown by slipping the ball in between Renan's legs (89’).

*Owen’s made for United

Sir Alex Ferguson’s capture of one-time Kop idol Michael Owen from Newcastle represents a colossal coup for the Old Trafford boss.

So says Phil Chisnall, the last man to move directly between the two footballing superpowers of the north-west, when United transferred the creative inside-forward to Liverpool for £25,000 in the spring of 1964.

Nearly half a century on from that deal, displaying a unique qualification to comment on Owen switch allegiances, Chisnall is unequivocal: “It’s a brilliant piece of business. Michael’s had his injury problems, but he didn’t become a bad player during his time at St James’ Park. If you’d put George Best into that Newcastle team he’d have struggled!

*Berba: I can do better

Dimitar Berbatov feels he has plenty more to give at United and is determined to better last season’s goal tally.

The Bulgarian netted 14 times following his deadline day move from Tottenham at the start of September as he helped the Reds to Club World Cup, Carling Cup and Barclays Premier League glory.

Berbatov is relishing the opportunity to get a full pre-season under his belt and hopes it will provide him with the perfect platform to continue his improvement.

*Owen’s seventh heaven

Michael Owen feels honoured to have been handed the No.7 shirt and insists he can handle the responsibility that comes with it.

The striker has taken over the number following Cristiano Ronaldo’s summer departure to Real Madrid and has already bagged two goals in his first two games in the famous jersey.

Owen is determined to maintain the great traditions of the shirt previously worn by the likes of Beckham, Cantona and Robson, whilst carving out his own history as a United No.7.
