BusinessWhat Are The Factors That Limit Business Growth In Nigeria by Tzben(op): 5:09pm On Jan 16, 2020
While there are a lot of factors that limit business growth in Nigeria, the most common problem big and small businesses face are demand generation issues. A lot of business concentrate on creating a significant volume of traffic. However, there would be restricting factors that might develop, such as lost market share, smaller average factors, and decreasing purchase frequencies.

The Most Common Demand Generation Problems

Lack of leads is the most common problem businesses face. They invest a huge sum into marketing campaigns and advertising to increase traffic. For businesses to get value from their marketing and advertising, there need to be reliable strategies in place to engage customers and converting them into leads.

Growth plateaus is another factor that limits the business growth in Nigeria. A business needs to be active with their marketing and sales campaign. A system to continuously increase profitability, conversion rates, and traffic volume is important. Also, businesses should be able to expand into different channels which they’re not familiar with. These activities work to improve existing campaigns by combining several channels or finding new sources of revenue.

Focusing too much on generating leads is another factor that limits business growth in Nigeria. A lot of businesses are very good at using their core competencies to generate leads. The quantity of the leads is just as essential as the quality. However, it is important to evaluate the return on investment (ROI) from each source of lead and track campaigns to control costs.

How Can You Address These Demand Generation Problems?

It is essential to understand buyers that don’t follow a linear customer journey. Generating demand is a vast process. In most situations, they drive their own buyer’s journey by consuming several types of content, utilizing a variety of channels, and receiving feedback from other clients. To this effect, a business needs to be advanced in their approach if they want to win customers over.

Businesses must make sure they’re found in most channels such as Nairaland, LinkedIn, Google, Twitter, Facebook, etc. Rather than mass generating content, they need to create quality content that their customers can find anywhere. This will distinguish their business and brand from other competitors.

In addition to building a brand, a concentrated effort is required. Active campaigns collect general feedback, testimonials, and reviews. Creating a community behind a brand is also beneficial. Firms use tools such as blogs, forums, Facebook groups, and Nairaland to establish brand ambassadorship and build a relationship with people.

Businesses need to focus on maximizing the value of the customer or lead, going beyond lead generation. This is done through analytics data, personalization, and proper lead scoring. Business must always be testing new marketing campaigns, basing promotions on past purchases, and tracking the action leads to grow their customer base.

BusinessArialaba: All You Need To Know About This New Platform by Tzben(op): 4:50pm On Jan 16, 2020
We all at one point or the other experience challenges with making sells as an entrepreneur or a company. This is especially true in Nigeria, where the general business atmosphere isn’t favorable to both big and small businesses and/or companies doing business here. There are many challenges that all businesses in Nigeria encounter, such as electricity, good road network, finances, trust, and make sells. The two last points are the primary problems in which Arialaba is solving.

Arialaba is a Nigerian e-commerce marketplace that brings retailers, wholesalers, and Manufacturers closer to their target customers. The name Arialaba is simply gotten from the merging two very popular markets in Nigeria—Ariaria (Ari) and Alaba (Alaba) international markets in Aba and Lagos, respectively.

How is Arialaba Solving These Two Problems?
The two main issues this innovative Nigerian marketplace is solving is creating trust between customers and enhancing the sales of different businesses. Below are the breakdowns of problems we are solving, and how we will address them.

Trade Fraud Prevention
Provide A Real Shop Website Platform to Businesses
Time-Saving
Save You Money
Have More Customer Trust

Trade Fraud Prevention

Trade fraud is one of the biggest problems encountered by online shoppers and businesses in Nigeria. There are many online marketplaces in Nigeria, just like Arialaba. However, none has gone the extra mile to protect both the vendor and the customer from trade fraud. Arialaba provides a security system (Trade Assurance) to ensure that both the vendor and the seller are kept in check.

Provide A Real Shop Website Platform to Businesses

Nigeria certainly has many online marketplaces that users can join, upload their products, and make sells. However, none of these websites offers a dedicated shop feature to help businesses have an online presence and broaden their customer base.

Arialaba provides a platform that enables business owners to be able to have their own online shop, with a dedicated shop link. They can upload their products, perform SEO on the products, and can perform social media marketing.

With this platform, it saves you time, money, and looks to put an end to “DM me for price.”

Another significant advantage of using Arialaba is that you have trade intelligence. You’ll know which goods are performing better, which states where your customers are based, how you can improve your services, etc.

Time-Saving

When you have many products to sell as a retailer, marketing them manually as done by the average internet seller in Nigeria, consumes time. You’ll have to post on several Facebook groups, comment on several Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook posts in other to get customers online. All these take time, and time is an essential factor in business, one that you can do other important things that would grow your business.

Arialaba offers a unique way to help save your time, with all your products uploaded to Arialaba, you won’t have to jump from platform to platform. Your products will be marketed with paid ads across these social media platforms and Google, giving you more exposure. Also, you’re not being limited by Arialaba in terms of advertising your products. If you feel you are not receiving the exposure that you need, you can also promote your products in other platforms to get more customers.

Save You Money

Cost-saving is another advantage of using Arialaba. The fact that the cost of running and maintaining a website is not cost-effective, especially for an average Nigerian business. Arialaba takes that burden away and lets you focus on production and sells.

Also, it saves you data costs. For each product picture, you upload in Facebook groups especially, costs you a portion of your mobile internet data subscription. For broader reach, you’ll need to post into more groups. But with Arialaba, once all products are uploaded, you can take the unique product link and share it to get more customers.

Have More Customer Trust

Most businesses in Nigeria fail not because of their bad doings but because of the toxic nature of doing business in Nigeria. Customers wouldn’t trust sellers online unless they visited the offline shops themselves. However, with Arialaba, your business will be verified through valid ID identification. Also, you’ll be offering your customers an extra layer of trust with our Trade Assurance policy. Customers buying will have more feeling of security. If you’re a real business in Nigeria and not a scam, you won’t have any problems providing to your customers an extra layer of trust.

Other Problems Solved By Arialaba

However, you might not have that time, but the Arialaba inspection service team does. Arialaba will constantly check according to your desires until your products are completed and shipped to you.

Business Registration

While this isn’t a problem for most businesses in Nigeria, but its benefits can’t be underestimated. Having your business registered in Nigeria offers you much more advantage. Business registration creates credibility, which ensures that your customers can have reduced fear and trust you more to provide legit services.

PoliticsShould Nigeria Change From "State Of Origin" To State Of Residence"? by Tzben(op): 6:44am On May 17, 2019
Hey guys, it's a beautiful morning and I want to bring forward this question to you.

Nigeria as a country uses in its application forms State of Origin although some equally have State of Residence.

Don’t you think tribalism will reduce the more if banks, government jobs, organizations are mandated to remove State of Origin? Job selection would be fair and not restricted to a particular ethnicity where the company is based of the hiring manager is from.

I know quite well that the names can equally be show who is who, but is this a nice move to ensure tribalism is brought down in Nigeria?

They're very ridiculous, I have posted about this before. They're the chief source of Nigerian internet Hate. The hate speech here is too much. They're just after their pockets.

Damsonkc:
I’m an Igbo Nigerian. I was born in the north. I schooled in the south. I worked briefly in the west and now I live in Europe. I’ve never in my entire life been given to tribal sentiments. Buhari and co have said that giving us a free state is not negotiable, why then can’t the Igbo man be allowed to conduct his business in peace? Why is there so much hostility and disunity in Nigeria? Why can’t we love and work together for the greater good of our fatherland? If I can own a shop in the UK and have no problem, why should my own business be at risk in my own country? What do we teach our kids by these. Seun and all the MODs here are some of the most despicable people I’ve seen in my entire life. Make Nairaland a hate free zone. Delete every single comment that ridicules others. A great Nigeria starts with us. I am downcast and sad. Why so much hate for each other, what is wrong with the black manhuh?

olaric:
The level of bitterness in the hearts of some Nigerians is shocking. Just imagine the level of thrash coming out of the mouth of some of the people who posted their comments earlier? Imagine insulting an entire tribe over mundane issue? The question I like to ask is: Is there anyone among us who chose his tribe when coming to this world?

About time Sheun did something about this; probably banning some people for hate speech. What some of us say here on Nairaland is no different from racism.
I have posted something about this before, but seems nairaland doesn't want to heed the counsel.

If there's one thing NL is known for, it's the stench of ethnic bigotry that pervades inside of it. Only a few are immune to it, no thanks to the mods who don't do anything to curb such foul tendencies.
Honestly, nairaland mods is also a big problem we have in Nigeria.
