In other news, I logged in to my SquadHelp account today to find a message that, if you submit domain names that their AI Grader tags as potential fit for Premium with Coins, you would be refunded if such submissions are rejected. Isn't that just great!

I purchased my 1st domain name on dynadot and was sent the email I will paste below, pls wat does it mean and wat should I do?

I I wanted to unlock my account so I could list the domain bt missed the date for the security question, I received email from them that I have to send them a copy of my ID before account can be unlocked, pls how do I go about it?

I don't know where the "security question" came in from what you posted here. You're simply asked to verify your contact information.

That email seemed to include a link that you're expected to click on. From my experience of WHOIS information verifications (I assume this is similar), you simply click a link and confirm that your contact information that you provided was valid.

Have you tried clicking on the link provided? What were you requested to do on the page that opened?

By the way, I don't think you need to unlock your account before you can list a domain name if you can log in successfully. Simply change the nameservers.

PS: Oh! It seems Dynadot has locked your account and required verification. Simply scan or snap a copy of your government-issued ID (international passport, driver's licence, or maybe NIN/voter's card) and send to their email address.

No enduser has even replied your outbound emails, not to even talk of seeing a buyer. Yet, you're willing to sell the name to your fellow domainers that know the nook and cranny of the business for 100k at a giveaway price. Really?

Please hold your names, when we want to buy, we know where to get them.

Brother...na so another person made a post of selling for 50k days ago. For this place of all places! To even sell name for $20 most times on NP na war.

When I saw that 50k post, I calculate say that money go get me five (most likely, better) names from ED - even with change at Dynadot currently. They're probably playing.

Your utmost goal and quite an urgent one at that as a domainer is to quickly reach the level where you're no longer investing in domain names that need to be outbounded before they get sold. Cos what is this?

This is a major reason I don't actively seek domain names that require doing outbound marketing, especially Geos, anymore. Some replies go just deflate your morale.

Still, you fit send emails taya without any sale! And dem fit dey read the emails o, based on open tracking.

Interestingly, this ranks among the types domain names I don't register based on three factors:

1. Not targeted at a Western location; I even limit myself more to the US in like 95% of cases
2. Too long (for me), and
3. It's even reverse Geo.

Yet, I have hardly been making outbound sales. Is God not wonderful?

The first was my biggest sale yet and the first "trending keyword" name I have sold after several, different attempts resulting in dozens of registrations.

As for the second, I could have ended up selling it for less (or maybe not at all) if I had sent emails to end-users, going by my experience this year. I decided to postpone outbound marketing weeks or months before the sale after I found out during leads sourcing that my main target was robbed around the time.

There's nothing sweeter than inbound sales. Without these ones, I wouldn't have sold anything since June despite regular, steady outbound marketing efforts.

I regularly get open rates of 50-70%+. But the best responses I have been getting mostly were "not interested," "no thanks," and the likes. A few showed interest but never took action despite follow-ups.

BB and SH are in different league. I love BB for panning out huger $$$$ for a name sale.

I asked that question because I have been seeing more SH sales but I hardly see BB sales.

I also learnt recently that BB prices domains higher than SH. But that could also explain the fewer sales.

Plus, I read that SH spends more on pushing listed Premium domains in terms of advertising.

Warm your email address (read about "email warming," if necessary). Alternatively, open a new email address and try again.

Mehn, these oyibo people are very nasty... outbounding is not easy at all... You go send hundreds of emails, and not a single one will reply, even if it's "I'm not interested" they wouldn't even acknowledge the emails... Sometimes i wonder how some of you make sales here

Just try to ensure that the emails are hitting their inboxes.

Outbound marketing is... This year, I am not sure if I have sold up to four domain names while doing that thing and for low figures, too.

Since last year or early this year, I even decided I would stop registering names that require such. But I still registered them as recent as last month!

If you have the time, I would advise that you continue with it. Pick a thing or two here and there from the gurus here and apply what you can.

PS: Also, be prepared for those who would abuse you or vent their frustrations on you at some point.

I wonder what the .xyz domain registry or registries think they are! I wonder what business they have with increasing prices. Seems they think they are now on the same pedestal as the "almighty" Verisign.

At this rate, this extension now costs more to renew compared to more popular options like .com, .net, and .org! $12.99 compared to $11.99 for .com. It's clear why the latter is "king."

The registries even have ridiculous renewal fees for some domain names. I guess this is how the extension will become more popular.

ysgs, you really didn't need to join words with people who wanted to vent their frustrations on you. Try to resist the urge to reply some people in case of next time.

The remuneration proposed is low, but you could still find those who would be interested.

In fact, if not that I am not a trained teacher plus for a few other factors, I might take up something like this. I would do this simply to impact positively in the lives of younger people rather than for the money.

Because of the current Dynadot promo, I decided to look through two of the past sets of domains that were available at the time I researched them. I suddenly noticed several names that I would have registered almost immediately by merely looking at them in a batch from December 2020.

When I rechecked, those domains were gone! I decided to check one that came to mind again this morning (rate//moon) and found that it's listed on SH for more than 3k. Meanwhile, I have only one SH premium-accepted in all these years and it (interestingly) came from that batch. I think I registered less than 10 domain names in that batch.

Moral: Once you know what you are doing, it helps if you can get good capital. Na money dem dey take make money.
