Thanks I'll work with these then. JustMellow: Hello UBCcookies,
At this time, it isn't appropriate to send in such information when a common-law relationship wasn't initially declared. If you'd knew, you would have mentioned him in your letter and this makes it easier to lay future claims about him been your fiancé.
What you should do is abstain from sending any such information to IRCC. Instead, look into the brighter future by starting to build concrete evidence between both of you from now on. It would be much advised to do the following as part of proof of relationship which would be very important for any future application when you intend to sponsor or invite him. See below some;
1. Open a joint account
2. Establish close ties with each other's families by demonstrating with pictures etc. This could be with both or either parents, siblings, aunty, uncle etc
3. If applicable, open a social media account i.e. Facebook, Instagram etc and decorate it with pictures of both of you during outings, ceremonies, with families etc
4. Old or current receipt of rented apartment or evidence of cohabiting together i.e. utility bills, property joint ownership etc
5. Old or present conversational chats detailing romance, pet talks, plans of getting married, having kids, establishing, investment etc which should demonstrate clear intentions of achieving them together. This could be WhatsApp, Facebook or the likes.
6. Evidence of him taking responsibility of your certain needs at some point (if applicable)
The lowdown will definitely suffice when its time to sponsor him or invite him over as a common-law partner or fiancé.
All the best |

Thanks. Although not that I'm submitting it immediately, just to hold it as some kind of evidence so that in the future we can use it. Akannitommy: My suggestion is that you avoid both speculation and desperation in your situation. Only someone or people who have experienced this sort of thing before can give you the best advice based off their own personal (or familiar) experiences; any other option will be speculative. Submitting any document to change your marriage status after approval may seem desperate especially if it is not an official marriage certificate. |

Happy new month to y'all. There are many things in this our journey to Canada so please forgive this my question, in this regard, I want to ask if is there any document I can get from the Court to show I am in a relationship with my boyfriend? I have gotten approval and I didn't show him in my application, I will like to get such document to send to ircc so that he will be able to join/visit me by next year.
We're considering getting married (proper marriage rite) by late next year so we are not considering getting marriage certificate at the moment.
If there's such document, please how can I send it to ircc to update them about my status. |

Thank you for the reply. I searched for my school but it's not there. Also I called UBC to tell them about the difficulty I'm having but they insisted the only way international students outside Canada can pay is through western union. The only information western union gave me was a reference number but my bank is saying I don't have enough information from the school to attach to Form A. Please hlep. Has anyone paid UBC tuition fee here? Nastan: Generated payment advice using CIBC INTERNATIONAL STUDENT PAY. Take it to Ecobank, attach your Acceptance Letter, Fee schedule/demand, your Intl passport and your Degree Certificate if you are going for Graduate study. At the bank you fill out Form A form and execute FX purchase agreement. |

Thank you for this information. Please can I get the contact details of the vfs center you chatted with. Akannitommy: No, I don't think you are exempted and so you will likely need to pay the N7,430. Since the biometric was not done and paid for in respect of the current application then you will pay transmission fee. I know this because I had a chat with the VFS office yesterday and asked the question. The case was for a PR who did biometric several years ago for a visit visa application which was unsuccessful. But now a PR is positive and passport request was given. I helped with payment and sending yesterday. They also said we could send to the Lagos VFS which is what we did. So my response is aligned with logic from this experience. |

Thanks but if Corona might still be around 1st quarter of 2021, travel restriction might also not be lifted so I will be forced to study online that way I have done more than 50% of my program online which is against the new PGWP eligibility. vibrant99: The Beautiful thing now is that ...
“Your time spent Outside Canada now counts for you”
This is basically everyone’s fear, I presume this was looked into as it became an issue and progressively decided on,
For my slim decision , SEPT 2021 wouldn’t be a bad idea, ... Finishing touches on Corona will still be around till the first quarter of 2021. Calm down .
Make sure you smash them exams , Online!!!
quote author=UBCcookies post=93841694]Hello everyone, please I need your advice. I have started my online fall class for MEng Electrical which is a 2yrs course with internship but it has the option of finishing it in 12months without internship. Now I got an email from the school advising us to either choose the non-internship stream which is to be run in 12months or defer to September 2021 because they got the information that processing time for work permit for co-op is now 7-9months so we might not be in Canada to apply ahead for it.. The deadline for deferral is 21st September and we need to select our courses well so we can complete 50% of it in person in Canada to be eligible for PGWP. My question is if I choose the 1yr stream how many years PGWP will I be eligible for? I have AIP now and I have deferred before. What if January class is online if they decide to extend travel restriction. Help o please, my mind is full. |

The program is a 2yrs course with opportunity to be finished in 1yr as long as you fulfil the course load. Will I get 3yrs PGWP if I choose the 1yr path? From the email they're advising we defer to September 2021 if we choose the 2yrs because we must be present in Canada before applying for co-op work permit or we finish the course within this 1yr. Taiwolus: I don't think I completely understand your situation (especially the course selection part). But yes, the Co-op work permit takes that long. The good this is that nothing stops you from applying for it right away (and you don't need to be in Canada to apply for it). If I was in your position, I will continue to take my courses online, and start applying for student positions. |

It is a 2yrs course but can be finished in 1yr. Does that means I will still get my 3yrs PGWP? All I need do is finish the full course credit within 1yr NairaLuck: In some cases, accelerated courses still gives the normal PGWP. It's calculated by credit units/course load |
