As sad and irresponsible of the FSARs as this event is....this goes far to approve of the reasons why we must seek to pursue only legitimate means of livelihood.

Now, the dead can't defend themselves cos they heaped guilt on themselves by running.

May the rescued get quick recovery and a mind to turn a new leaf... And may the dead rest in peace.
sometimes, you guys just type rubbish and post. It seems you don't live in 9ja and you don't move around town or maybe you are locked up in one room for the past 5yrs.

Computers / Ten Tips For Taking Better Care Of Your Laptop by UceeTrust(m): 10:28pm On Jul 31, 2017
Having a laptop is more convenient for most active people than being tied to a desk
with an unportable computer. Students, novelists, salespeople and entrepreneurs rely
on their laptops to do their work or homework, stay in touch with friends, write
memos and analyze spreadsheets.
A good laptop can be as powerful as you need it to be. And that's why laptops are
more expensive (sometimes much more) than a desktop PC. Just look at the flyers
from office supply stores and electronic retailers to compare the pricing.
Tips for protecting your investment.
Because a laptop is expensive to replace, it's important that you know how to take
care of it. It's an investment that can pay for itself many times over.
Your laptop takes a lot of gentle abuse that you might not think about. Keep in mind
that if you have a laptop, you're likely taking it with you on plane rides, to a
restaurant, and on overnight trips and vacations. And chances are, you're plugging
in devices and switching media (DVD disc and flash drives) more often than you'd do
on a desktop. All the more reason to know how to take care of your trusty working
companion.
Here are some tips to help you do that. They're not just advice about not spilling hot
coffee or chips and drinks on your keyboard, or not tossing your laptop across
the room to a friend—many are suggestions that most of us wouldn't even think
about.
Laptop chargers and adapters an online shop for laptop chargers and adapters present 10 tips for you to put into action...if you haven't already:
1. If you're going to travel, remove any CDs, DVDs and flash drives that
might be in your computer, and protect them properly. Also, turn the
laptop off—don't simply put it in sleep or standby mode. If you have an unfinished assignment you don't want to close, simply put it in hibernate mode.
2. Extreme temperature or temperature swings can have an effect on a
laptop. If you've just brought your laptop indoors from a very cold day, you
shouldn't turn it on until it has had a chance to warm up and reach room
temperature. That might take some time if it's been freezing outside.
3. A notebook's screen is the most fragile and a risk component, and it can
be cracked and damaged easily. Clean it only with approved solutions or
monitor wipes. Don't touch the screen with pens or any pointer that can
scratch the surface.
4. You shouldn't put a laptop close to appliances that generate a strong
magnetic field, such as televisions, large speakers and even some high-
tech refrigerators. You should even avoid putting your cellphone on top of
your laptop while both are on.
5. Keep the lid closed as often as you can, which helps to limit the amount
of dust that can settle on the keyboard, saves battery life and prevents
the keyboard from an accidental coffee spill—a leading cause of laptop
damage.
6. Laptops can overheat more easily than a desktop computer can. You
shouldn't set one on a blanket, pillow or other non-flat surface that could
prevent sufficient ventilation.
7. Be careful where you take your computer and set it down. Again, its
portability can work against it. You shouldn't take it to the beach and risk
getting sand into it. Same with using it on the kitchen counter, where it
could drop into a sink or on the floor. And even if it's NOT plugged in,
you shouldn't finish your spreadsheet while relaxing in the bathtub!
8. You should always carry it in a good-quality laptop bag or cushiony case
that provides protection against drops and jostles. You should also get
into the habit of never putting anything on top of it (newspapers, mail),
because if it's on the bottom of a pile, even heavier items—books,
backpacks, etc.—could also get piled on.
9. Set up passwords for access to your laptop (for family members who
might also use it). Make sure they do not use "password," "ABCD" or other
simple passwords any thief could guess, in case it's ever stolen.
10. Open a personal virtual private network (VPN) account and use it as often
as you can in airports, hotels and hotspots. In other
words, anytime you're plugged in to free Wi-Fi or strange networks. A VPN
reroutes your Internet connection to secure networks, where a hacker
cannot steal your data.
Following these simple tips you can keep your laptop running and working for years to
come and prevent you from having to spend your hard earn money for a replacement.

Celebrities / Re: Pericoma Okoye Is Dead (Photo) by UceeTrust(m): 1:56pm On Feb 16, 2017
obyrich:
The much I know about him is that he is a highlife musician and a traditionalist. He is famous for his display of magical powers at the popular Ikeji festival of Arondizogu. It is also famed that he once hypnotised tax collectors who assaulted him at Onitsha just after the head bridge. They lifted him up to take him to their office but could not bring him down until someone who identified him announced that he was the great Peri como. He had to be appeased with some sacrifices before the dafts were freed. Very interesting story. I think someone sang about it.
He indeed sang about it. For those kids on nairaland, who doesn't know about pericoma, you can search for his nostalgic songs on youtube. My only problem is that these kids won't understand what the great traditionalist is singing about.

I still wonder what joy people derive from watching that program for hours. When there are so many other things to learn from books and motivation programmes . If this moral decay continues this way the next generation kids will make a lot of there parents cry. We want to copy Americans but we forget they have a lot of job opportunities for the rising population but here we are breeding immoral people that will end up without jobs.

Imagine the chaos that's coming
My brother you are right. i tell those who take to listen to me that if our present generation fail to fix this country now the next generation which are our children would spit on us and publicly call us old fools. The moral decadence now is alarming despite the outrageous number of religious bodies we have scattered all over the country.

For the religious lunatics, these are the same white people that brought Christianity to us and at the same time sold many Africans into slavery;imagine humans buying and selling other humans.
My dear, you read my mind. I am beginning to question the essence of Christianity and Islamic religion in Africa because those that brought this religion to us as a way of life did more damages than good. Imagine selling our great great grand fathers as slaves. Our so called leaders in Africa, should be made to visit this slave museum once in every six months so that they can always remember that
1. Enough is enough of African slavery not longer from white men but the black man himself.
2. Emancipation of Africa from depending on white men for our daily needs. Everything we can think of that we use basically here is being produced by this white guys.
3. It time to develop Africa.

If we Nigerians at this stage of exposure of digitized world would still for this scrap style of imposing or recycling those that have been ruling us for the past 56 years of independence, without any significant fraction of development to boost of as a nation then the country and we as a people are heading for a doom. We don't need any known old cargo in leadership any longer, starting from the top echelon of presidency to the least Councillor in local govts. We need fresh breeds of young minds to steer the affair of this country. Please ATIKU should kindly take the back seat.

And who devalued the naira to that extent? Wasn't it the same Buhari?
He is the author of his own problems.
When the PMB said devaluation has not added any value to us as a nation since inception, Nigerians and the quack economic professors in this country were shouting devalue the naira, Buhari devalue the naira. Now, the naira has been devalued, the sameNigerians are shout the president does not understand how the economy works, that price of every thing has sky rocketed, forgetting that we are an import dependent nation.

Is he guity youth. What about the IMam that collected 500m from Dasuki for prayers in sokoto, his still roaming about the street without any pressure. Nigeria youth should use their head before they talk. If you silent FFK, Fayose, who will speak for the already opressed Nigerias? Some of us are sick upstairs
Guy! your argument shows that you are the one sick. Dangote is the richest man in African yet he is still investing as far as Netherlands. There is nothing like FFK is from rich background, a Thief is a Thief. FFK is one of the big Thieves of our common wealth.

If Jumia and Konga depend on how many Nigerians have access to internet service and if Nigerians are ready for an online trade, they wouldn't move an inch let alone getting to where they are now.
