OK, nobody likes Forbes all of a sudden, well thats when its talking about football clubs not the richest men and women and businesses in the world. grin

And towards the difference in level between Arsenal and Chelsea / financial ratings presently - I totally agree and support Forbes list.

Now some of ya'll discount Forbes which is rather funny, No its really funny. You guys are great. I swear grin
I am not giving a thumbs down to Forbes. I am just having a hard time understanding the order of that Top Ten list. Ur caption should have read 10 most richest clubs and even at that there would still be some controversy.  undecided
Going by spending power over the last couple of years , then Chelsea should be somewhere at the top three , definitely above arsenal . Going by current earnings, then Chelsea should not even have made the least at all. So that is why I ask, What is the criteria?

Have you heard of Forbes before? grin
Yeah, I know all about Forbes. I just wanted to know if they changed thier modus operandi over night. Since it is still same old Forbes (Financial criteria) ,then I dont buy it .

he might have won every, but chelsea have not won everything and are not more successful, i challenge u to say they are.

Uche i don't care who u support u can support spurs for all i care. his helps shape the future, man u won it through hard work and through believing that its their right because of their history, do u comprehend that?
Hardwork , I totally agree. However, I was not aware that they have sold the rights of the Barclay's premiership trophy.

Come to think of it, Spurs wont be such a bad team to support grin

nnenneigbo:
history has everything to do with everything. your history shows u are losers, 2years won't change that, u are just a flash in the pan, blackbburn did the same thing. if your history backs u up as winners, then its instilled in the core of your very being. thats one thing chelsea don't have. even when man u went a few seasons without winning jack, people still knew they were manu and understood their history. u cannot discount that dear somaze ok. for u to say liverpool isn't a big club shows what u know about football. just because they have your number worked out when it comes to cup competitions, doesn't mean u should tell a bare face lie. liverpool is 100 times bigger than your small club and so is Arsenal
I wonder how history will help U, if U dont adequately prepare for the future. Man U went ahead and won the premiership this season not because that they have won it in the past but because they have an excellent manager and a team with lots of talent.Anything short of that, then they would have spent this season reminiscing about the good old days. In soccer, especially, U dont rely on ur history to do U any favors. Your current form is all that matters in the round leather ball game.

And please I am not a fan of Chelsea.

@ nne what has history got to do with this. A coach and his team is only as good as their last game. Pedigrees don't win matches neither does history. Games are won by the present crop of players in any team and by doing so You create history as You go along. Once You stop performing then your history stops counting!!!!

PoliticsRe: Good Things Happening In Nigeria by Uche2nna(m): 1:02am On May 14, 2007
The Chinese or anybody for that matter "invading" the Nigerian market is not in any way indicative of a healthy economic situation. First of, we know that the Chinese thirst for Oil is becoming increasingly insatiable due to the growth of their manufaturing sector. They need oil to power those huge industries and would do anything to be in good terms with countries that has the product. Nigeria unfortunately is one of those countries. They know all about the unsavoury economic terrain of Nigeria but is a risk they have to take. Most importantly, the huge population of Nigeria is another factor that makes the risk worth taking. A country of 150 million people (and still counting) that produce nothing but import almost everything is a market that no manufacturer of goods and services can afford to take lightly. MTN can attest to that. They braved all  odds of  the rocky economic terrain of Nigeria and banked on the sheer number of the populace. That paid off instantaneously. So the Chinese are not naive nor are they impressed with our economic situation. They know exactly what they are doing.

Is this not a case of misplaced priority? It is true that they were beaten by West Ham but that match was just merely academic for them. West Ham needed that match more than the Ferguson's boys. As far as they are concerned the season's job has been done. Once again they are the Premiership champions and the loss to "Tevez" does not take the shine off their celebration. Kudos to them.

In my opinion the team that really needs some stock taking is chelsea. They set their goals, got the right players for the job, but somehow it never paid off.

Is Tevez going to stay put in West Ham? I think he deserves better.
SportsRe: What Should Arsenal Do To Win The Title Next Season? by Uche2nna(m): 9:49pm On May 13, 2007
Arsenal only needs 3 players to survive next season.

One no nonsense defensive midfielder

One incisive attacking midfielder

One clinical finisher.

I think the defense is ok and if the midfield is strenghtened that will take off some pressure from them and they will relax and do thier job. Especially eboue who thinks that since the attackers are not doing their job, that it falls on him to help them. Having said that, Baptista has been a real disappointment. He should be told to go asap. Wenger should also try to get a more saner and calmer goalkeeper. Lehman is  lipsrsealed. Adebayor could still learn if he was made to understudy a more clinical finisher before being handed that responsibility.

I dont think Arsene can be able to land Eto and I dont want him to. He should go find his own Eto, Nisteelroy or C. Ronaldo. They are all there , U just have to look harder.

Just for the records

Thanks Mukina for pointing out my "post" on Davidlyan's blog. I would not say I was suprised to see that, given the penchant of some Nairaland members to readily change identities. However, I was kind of irked with the choice of Nairaland members my imposter chose to diss. My view of Nairaland might be different with those members but I will definitely not stoop that low to disrespect them. I learnt a lot of stuff from them even amidst the drift in viewpoints. What reason do I have to diss debosky? Or even Mukina, of whom I hold in high regards. Thank God she had the level-headedness to keep her cool and seek my view unlike some others that went on a war path immediately those words were posted. And more importantly, give me one reason why I should particularly run to the defence of Seun. I don't dislike him nor do I like him. Those are emotions that I don't dispense with easily. Just for the records, I have even been banned by Seun once for going off topic. So why should I go off my way trying to defend him.

Anyway, Thanks Muki. I really owe U one for acting so maturely.
