I kinda feel like its too late to bring in a new coach.
It will just disrupt things.
I also feel the same way too. Besides, the NFF will take ages to get a new coach if Amodu gets the sack. The way I see it , it is a lose-lose situation.

mikelagos:
let Amodu correct his mistakes.
Unfortunately, he wont. Whatever Amodu is doing now can not be considered as a mistake. Thats his standard of coaching. So he cant correct it.
Unfortunately, that standard is not good enuff for the SE

Don't we all?

It's funny, every girl says they have more male friends. . .yet you never see a girl without a bunch of other girls with her.

I think saying "oh i don't have a lot of female friends" is the latest step in the mating dance. Hehehe!

Girls and the length they'll go to get attention from guys. I tell ya, there's nothing more entertaining than girl drama cheesy

Uche2nna, u sabi read at all?
grin grin grin grin
My brother, no vex, na hunger dey cause am grin

However, u really went hard on those calling for Amodu's head as if they committed a felony. Anybody asking for Amodu's sack has a very good reason to do so. We dont play very well even when we win matches. And when we come up against formidable teams , we always come up short. This is Nigeria we are talking about not Rwanda. Beating countries like M'bique, Benin or South Africa shouldnt be our yard stick for success. Just qualifying for the Nations and the World cup shouldnt be our end point. We should be more concerned about making huge statements in the competition proper. When Pele predicted that an African Nation would win the world cup, he actually had Nigeria in mind. Thats how highly we were rated. If Amodu's target is to get to the semi finals of the Nations cup, then he is not the man to be in charge of the super eagles.

U have displayed displeasure on his
1) Formation
2) Tactics
3)Player selection.

Biko , what else do U need before u realize that he is not the Man.

My guy. I am not concerned about your views regarding his tactical abilities. Point is how do you sack someone who fulfilled the objectives specified in his employment contract for failure? You see him as tactically inept yet he achieved the targets set for him at the time of his employment. Personally I don't believe he is the best we could hire in anyway. But the fact is he was given the job, goals were set for him to meet and he has since met them. Now people want to move the goal post before the final whistle. Sack him and find a magician who will work under such conditions where you are fired for achieving what was asked.
And whats the problem in sacking him? undecided

Does his contract have a "Do not fire me" clause? undecided

He did his job and got paid for it.
SportsRe: My Reasons Why Amodu Should Remain Super Eagles Coach by Uche2nna(m): 12:47am On Jan 29, 2010

Amodu must also keep his mind open and give the home-based players and the better players from the U-17 (Azeez, Chukwudi, Emmanuel, Ajagun) U-21(Obot Etuk, Obiorah Nwankwo, Kingsley Udoh, Rabiu Ibrahim) and Beijing 2008 team a chance to fight for a place in the final 23-man list. . . . . These players must not be used as mere training materials. . . .THEY MUST NOT!. . .some of them MUST actually make the final team to South Africa. I see no reason why at least 3-5 players from the domestic league can't make the final team to the World cup. . . . Amodu cannot in his right senses tell me players like Ike ThankGod, Chibuzor Okonkwo, Osanga King, Ibrahim Babale, Obiorah Nwankwo, Valentine Nwabili, Jonah Abutu, Solomon Okpako, John Nnam etc are not good. HE CANNOT!. . . .Amodu's take on the domestic league and the players is not only pathetic but laughable. .  Heartland got to the CAF champions league final and eliminated a Kano Pillars that knocked out Ahl-Ahly of Egypt (that is the bedrock of the Egypt's Angola 2010 team) in the semi-finals. It's funny Amodu saw no player worth donning the green-white-green amongst these two teams. . . Very Funny. . . .A local homebased coach who cut his teeth in the domestic league but does not believe in home-based players?. . . oh. . . .LAUGH WAN KILL ME DIE!
So it took a loss to the STARLETS before u realized all this? undecided
Most people that were appalled by Amodu's leadership raised the same issues (albeit in different manner and tone) but u labelled them as noise makers.

IMO, I dont need Amodu to lose a match before I realize that he is visionless. Amodu has no short term or long term for the SE. That alone is enough to give a coach the boot. The coach stated categorically that there are no players in the Nigerian league. What more do U need to ask him to leave? undecided

Same thing is about to happen to the Indomitable lions. Le Guen submitted that the best players in Cameroon are playing outside of Cameroon. What a waste of dollars!!!! angry Nope, the KNOWN players of Cameroon are outside Cameroon. However, the future Kameni's, Eto'o , Geremi's are all still playing in Cameroon. All U have to do is to dig deep and discover them.

Hence, the point about the debate is not to witch hunt the Igbos or anything.
When people tell bold faced lies and cook up sensational headlines, U cant help but wonder what the motive is. As with this thread, most times it is for ethnic bashing.

Some candidates protested during the debate, feathers were ruffled and voices were heard. But after all said and done, nerves were calmed and the debate went on. Now how does that correlate to the screamer "Anambra cant even organize a simple debate". If thats not ethnic bigotry, then I dont know what is.

1815: Nigeria captain Peter Odemwingie: "I think we have used all the luck we had so far in this tournament. Ghana deserved the victory they played very well. We played as individuals not as a team and I think we need more tactical flexibility than to play 4-3-3 all the time. We need to play more attacking football. We played with one striker and it did not help us and we did not get a lot of chances. We could have played much better."

We just have to admit that we are looking at a very talented generation of ghanian players. Just a couple of months ago, they were crowned U-20 champions of the world and these guys are already sure of a silver medal in AFCON. I see those dudes really having a strangle hold on African football for some time to come.

It is just a recipe for a media circus. I dont want to turn on the TV and be bashed on the head with C-Span debates all day by folks who are going to say NO anyway.
Obama should have realized that when he SPECIFICALLY said over and over again he was gonna put it on C-span. Normally, those kind of deliberations are not made public (cos of all the pork barreling stuff going on grin). Even the republicans know and realize that. However, they now capitalize on that promise and rightly so too. Add that to the buying of Senator Ben Nelson vote and the fact that the bill was completely partisan, u now have why most think that the bill is shrouded in mystery.

Honestly Amodu is a dunce.

How many Dms is he playing? Kaita, Etuhu, and he has a good striker Obasi left to play midfield to accomodate the lazy yak.

Sack him, win or loose
I was befuddled by that too, U have a lot of DM crowding and duplicating each other's effort in the midfield and then u also instruct Obasi to drop deeper and deeper into the midfield. What sort of formation is that, biko?  angry
