Funny man!

I actually like politicians like him, because they make themselves heard. That is what they have been elected to do anyway

Some of the other members are busy laughing instead of listening to what he has to say.
Heard by who or whom??

Thats the problem with Nigeria as a whole. Too much showboating.

Are those big words necessary? Whats wrong in putting across ur argument in very simple english? undecided

Now the other politicians are laughing (or impressed undecided) with his big grammar that they probably have lost sight on the content of his deliberations. Sad!!

Why is it OK for muslims to also kill fellow muslims? Mutallab didnt give a bleep if there were Muslims on the airplane.
It is called collateral damage.

There are two school of thots about that in the Islamic world:

1) One that supports and subscribes to death of  muslims during such operations.
2) One that postulates the minimization of muslim casualties.

However, one common theme that these school of thots agree on: Death to infidels.

@ LB

Its becoming so funny how U guys like to justify (or explain) the extremist tendencies of any group of muslims. Today it is development, tomorrow it is tribal. When will u guys start taking responsibility? Or at least acknowledge the fact that a very sizeable faction of the muslim world subscribe to extremist islamic doctrines?
How else will u explain the religious riots that erupted in Abuja due to some report filed in a Dutch newspaper? Is that also a consequence of foreign policy? undecided

PoliticsRe: Senate Gives Obama's Admin 7-day Utimatum To Remove Nigeria From The Black List by Uche2nna(m): 2:40am On Jan 07, 2010
@ 4play

I not stating that Nigeria should not be on the list. Lord knows that we only have ourselves to blame. The Northern part of Nigeria has always been a problem when it comes to religious violence. We have just managed to export that violence to the international community and as a result we should bear the full consequences. This problem is going to continue until something drastic is done. Maybe this will be a wake-up call for all and sundry.

However, the point that is being made is that the criteria which got Nigeria on that list is enough to condemn other countries to that list. Is there some sort of double standard? undecided

Uche the matter is clear - apart from the increased risk of radicalization in Nigeria, our security is very lax and the borders are porous,

If Mutallab could do it through Nigeria, others can as well - the country is both a source of terrorists as well as a weak point of entry for would be bombers unto US bound planes.
Nigeria being on the list is not really my issue. I cant sit here and pretend that we dont have a problem.

However, telling me that the porosity of our borders justifies our inclusion to that list (as opposed to the exclusion of others) will simply not fly.
Are U telling me that the Malian borders are much tighter than Nigeria's? What about Ghana?  undecided

Even with all their supposedly tight borders, England , France and Holland still remain a hotbed for radicalization of muslim youths.  The question is can the US afford to have these countries on that list or are they just preying on smaller nations?

sefago-you think nigerian oil is not important to them-lol-ask yourself why this so called US pres would place nigeria on the list yet there is no proof of terrorism on our shores, do you know a guy from mali was caught with explosives before the muttalab saga and mali is not on the list, ok ask yourself-something is wrong somewhere, when he made the trip to ghana why did he ignore south africa it is the same thing gbush did, and he visited egypt with a dictatorial govt and egypt is a poor country in case ppl do not know, and to top it off he listed nigeria as a failed state and why would he place cuba as a state sponsor of terror this week-(the same day nig was listed with YEMEN/PAKISTAN-states with huge elements of al quaida) yet the botched xmas attack had nothing to do with cuba -
I was just thinking along that line and the inconsistencies are kinda puzzling.

I really dont blame the US per se in placing Nigeria on the list. I would expect Nigeria to take such precautionary measures if we were in the same position.

However, going by that criteria , the non-inclusion of England or Jamaica to that list makes one wonder about the motives of that list. The shoe bomber is from England, born to a Jamaican mother and radicalized in England.

Hmmmm, interesting. I hope Amodu is right about his qualities cos I have watched him a couple of times and didnt see anything special.

Anyways, its still a shame to me that a bundle of skill like Obasi didnt make the final cut in this mediocre assemblage of players.

LOL @ Akpala. To be honest, never saw the dude in action. But he must have some potential as he was topping the charts in Belgium a season ago.

@ Sagamite

I like your analysis.

However, I dont see any reason why a player like Obasi will be sacrificed just to accomodate an understudy in Enemaro. Makes no sense to me  undecided

With the number of mediocre defenders on parade in the SE, Dele Adeleye should walk into the team with his eyes closed. Another interesting omission if u ask me.

I agree with U, Utaka was dropped and rightly so.

So whatever happened to Joseph Akpala? He was on fire last season for his club.

Two of my good friends based in *************** have been telling me times without number that they wont av anything to do with Naija ladies. i simply dont understand why they will declare such instead of aving an open mind to all ladies. i do discourage them but henceforth i wont.  the way so many of them see issues seems to be at variance with our beliefs and culture. Above all, u all are entitled to your opinions and beliefs. i wish u goodluck.
LOL!!!!

U will be making a very grave mistake if u use the contents of this thread/forum to judge naija women. One thing U need to understand is that Naija girls get mouth. Most are vocal and very brash just for the heck of it.  For eg, how many times have u come out tops in an argument or mudslinging contest with ur sisters?  undecided  Far and in between  grin They will take u to the cleaners with their mouth !!!!

Beneath all that, Naija women are some of the sweetest creatures on this planet. U just have to find out the right ways to bring that out in them and they will literally stand by u and give u more than what u asked for. Just treat them like U treat ur own sisters.

There are exceptions tho and that is not unique to  Nigerian women alone. U can find stupid and opinionated women in all races, creed and sects.

Killing of fellow Nigerians i always condemn and it is more to do with tribalism than religion in my opinion. When Abiola died OPC went on killing rampage of hausas in lagos. Note that most of those OPC members will have been muslims by birth or name but the hatred for the hausas is soleley on tribe. Same goes to the hausas in the north , some of them kill yoruba muslims as well.
LagosBoy, I do appreciate the effort U are putting in but U dont really have to distort the facts. Most of the riots in Kano and Kaduna (I lived there for a couple of years) are drawn sharply between religious lines.
