Prior to 1999 elections what we had was a Military regime. At least everybody knew it was that but can U truly say this adminstration is a civilian dispensation? The fact remains that by going with the current manner by which we are practicing our own democracy, then democracy is not a form of Government suitable for the Governance of Nigeria. We need to devise our own system of governance that suits us and as well curbs the excesses of these bloody politicians.Nigeria is like hedged in between the devil and the deep blue sea.It is either the military men with their abuse of power or the politicians with their insatiable thirst for wealth. The actions of these two group of people explains the situation Nigeria has found itself today.Nothing, I mean absolutely nothing is working in this our beloved country. It has gotten so bad that students now have to go to Ghana (yes, GHANA) to go and get quality education. And yet some of us are still living in a fools paradise thinking that all is well. We have tried Democracy about 2/3 times and each time all that the politicians did was to fight over the ways to share money creating an excuse for the power drunk military men to step in. Let us not pretend that it can or will not happen again. Democracy, the type seen in Nigeria, is a waste of public funds! |

That is just a case study of the kind of stuff going on in Nigeria. Whether it is a railway, road, airport, school, water, power supply etc they all start the same way and end the same way.It has always been the same vicious circle duh!!!!! ![]() |
@ alabiyemmi U do not cease to amaze me. So U are exonerating the Govt officials from all the failed contracts in Nigeria This is really serious. So it is only you that have not heard of the Kickback syndrome in Nigeria. The only reason why Contractors get away with doing shabby work or even no work at all is that the politicians that awarded the contracts have been compromised. When a Govt official requests and recieves some money from the money that was meant for a particular contract, that official loses all credibility to supervise the contractor and contractor can decide not to do any work!Nothing dey happen,,,Oga don chop ![]() |
All these parables for Mukina ![]() |
The problem of Nigeria is the pessimistic attitude of its citizens I have heard a lot of ignorant statements on NL but this one takes the pick!!!!! If of all the gargantuan problems Nigeria is having all U got to see was the pessimistic attitude of the citizenry then it is either U are really ignorant about the Nigerian situation or ur parents (or whoever is related to U) has been part of the adminstrative cadre of Nigeria for the past 20 years or something. So it is a case of U do not know wat u are talking about or a case of U defending the hands that fed U. If Nigerians are in any way pessimistic, then they have the right to be!!! |
