PoliticsThe 79th National Executive Committee Meeting Of PDP Held Today In Abuja. by UcheSecondus(op):
Address by the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus on the occasion of the Emergency National Executive Committee (NEC) Meeting of the Party at PDP National Headquarters, Wadata Plaza, Abuja, and 19th April, 2018.

Protocol.

Preamble.

It is with great pleasure and thanksgiving to God that I welcome you beloved leaders of our great party to this very important meeting.

State of the Nation.

As you must have been following the nation's political terrain, since our last meeting, you will agree with me that all is not yet well with our nation.

The situation in our country is very disturbing as the ruling APC has continued to show in all ramifications that it lacks the wherewithal to manage this country.

The ugly incident in the nation’s Senate on Wednesday 18th April, 2018 more than anything else underscores the fact that our democracy is seriously under threat.

Nigerians and international community watched horrified as the spokesman of President Muhammadu Buhari’s support Group in the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agage led thugs into the hallowed chambers of the nation’s senate to steal the mace the authority of the Senate and kidnapped a Senator.

That these hoodlums passed through all the security checks and majestically worked into the chambers to cause such havoc leaves much to chew to all discerning minds.

As the President and APC leaders globe throttle meeting World leaders the legislative arm of the government, in fact the main symbol of democracy the legislature is being vandalised by agents sponsored by the government.

What happened in the Senate yesterday is a clear assault on democracy, a coup against the legislature and should not only be condemned but those responsible should be tried for treason as demanded by the law.

Herdsmen brazenly invade our homes and farms, rape, maim and kill our people daily, and thugs do the same in our parliament yet we have a government.

This obnoxious development has placed enormous challenge on us as the main opposition party to up our game and quickly rescue this country from the appalling APC administration.
Majority of Nigerians who are disillusioned about the state of affairs in the last three years, are excited that we are trying to get it right as we remain the last hope for our democracy.
We have also noted with disbelief, the continued de-marketing of this country by the President each time he travels outside the country.

This time he chose to abuse and deride our hard-working youths as lazy, a remark that is not only embarrassing but untrue. Our youths are not lazy, they are resourceful and indeed they are our future leaders.

On the 30th of April, 2018, our President is scheduled to meet with the President of the United States of America in Washington, the home of democracy and free speech, but back home in his country; anti-democratic weapons are being deployed against the Nigerian people.

We commend our elder statesmen and other patriotic Nigerians who have spoken up on the urgent need to rid the country of the current bad APC government and enthrone a government that will serve our needs.

ALL HANDS MUST BE ON DECK to achieve the great task of removing this APC government and replacing it with a government that will the hope and aspirations of Nigerians.

Widening our Scope

Because of this challenge, we have taken it upon ourselves as the leading opposition party to broaden our scope, open our doors and allow ideas to flow in for a more robust democratic development.

We therefore, invitee our brother, sister, youths and women from other political parties in this platform to join us to rescue our country that is in distress, socially, politically, economically and security wise.

In this country today over 3.1m citizens are languishing in various IDPs across the country yet we are not at war with any country.

Our consultations have taken us to meet with various interest groups who are willing to do business with us and I can report to you that it has very fruitful.

We expect in coming days to have a broader political family working dedicatedly to rescue this democracy and our beloved country from the hands of APC.

Reconciliation And Peace building

Since peace and unity in the party is key to realizing any of our aspirations particularly winning the Presidency, a peace and reconciliatory efforts were catalysed.

Permit me at this juncture therefore to place on record the yeoman role of the Chairman of our reconciliatory Committee His Excellency, Governor Seraike Dickson of Bayelsa state who has submitted his committee report to the NWC.

Also for special mention here is the former Senate President David Mark whose committee on Ekiti state has also been submitted.

Just yesterday myself, Senator Mark and members of NWC were in Ado Ekiti to put flesh to the recommendations and I can proudly report to you that Ekiti PDP is approaching July gubernatorial election as one huge family.

I must not forget to commend Governor Ayodele Fayose and other leaders of the party in Ekiti state for their cooperation.

We have also began the same process for Osun state where a successful congress was conducted and peace building process put underway ahead of September gubernatorial election in that state.

Conclusion.

As I end this address to you great leaders of our party, permit me to leave you with this quote from the 54th Speaker of the American House of Representatives Pau Ryan and he says
"Moving from an opposition party to a governing party comes with growing pains.

And, well, we're feeling those growing pains today. Doing big things is hard. All of us. All of us, myself included, we will need time to reflect on how we got to this moment, what we could have done to do it better"

Thanks for listening.

if a man could come out boldly with no fear to state clearly he is ready for court or whatever EfCC is trying to do with him, then its a settled case. you called him out on headlines, here is his humble reply to y'all who believe in the fabricated story. we have always heard the story and believe instantly, but here is someone who has replies for them, and this is all we need in this country, bold leaders not bold liars. bold and courageous statement that will challenge evil plots.
PoliticsLeave Blackmail, Media Trial; Let’s Meet In Court-secondus by UcheSecondus(op):
Prince Uche Secondus Press statement

......says panicky FG, APC desperate to distract him.

The attention of the media office of the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus has been drawn to the desperation of the federal government and its ruling, All Progressives Congress APC to frame him up with some blatant fabrications ostensibly to distract him from carrying out his responsibility of rebuilding his party.

The media office said that the National Chairman would ordinarily not want to join issues with the government on a matter already in court but noted regrettably that the administration has great contempt for the court and the rule of law and has instead chosen to use blackmail and media persecution to defame and discredit their enemies. A gimmick Prince Secondus said has failed because Nigerians have come to know the antics of the drowning government.

The statement quoted the PDP National Chairman as saying that the federal government and its agency "In its desperation to forge documents and defame him, forgot to reconcile their lies; the Minister of Information and Culture Alhaji Lai Mohammad and the EFCC couldn't agree on the date of the purported money collection and whether it was collected by him Secondus or by a faceless fictional Chukwura that has no surname.
While they may have embarked on a wide search since 2015 for the surname of the so called aide of the National Chairman, Alhaji Mohammad claimed in his press conference on Good Friday March 29th, 2018 that Secondus collected the money on 19th of February, 2015, EFCC on their part on April 16th, 2018, eighteen days after said the money was collected on February 9th, 2015 and in another version still quoting the same EFCC claimed February 2, 2015.

In a statement signed by his media adviser, Ike Abonyi, Prince Secondus restated his earlier declaration that nothing, not even the blackmail and intimidation lined up against the opposition by the federal government would be enough to stop him from carrying out the reform of his party, the PDP, as the program is aimed at repositioning the party with a view to rescuing Nigeria from the disaster called APC administration.
Prince Secondus described as unfortunate and tragic the fact that anti-corruption agency like EFCC founded and nurtured by PDP administration to tackle the issue of corruption in the system had to turn itself into a pawn in the hand of APC administration to witch hunt and harass perceived enemies of government just to impress and keep job.

He challenged the government and any agency that have anything against him that just cropped up because he is trying to rebrand his party to bring such evidence to the court and stop character assassination in the media.

“There’s no need to be talking about a case pending in court in the newspapers. If the government has anything to say, they should file it before the court as demanded.”

”The statement said that the National Chairman's office is aware of a grand design by the government to stop at anything to tarnish his image. But he said that the move would fail.

He challenged the government to come out with the vouchers with which he was said to have signed, adding that such signature would also be subjected to forensic analysis.

"I never collected any money from anywhere. I didn’t ask anyone to collect money for me as well and I didn’t sign any voucher to collect any money.

“It is pure blackmail which will never work.

“If they are cooking up anything, with the aim of blackmailing me, it will fail. I know that the task of uprooting this non-performing government would be horrendous. But God is always on the side of the people.”

"I can understand the frustration of a party that enjoyed enormous goodwill from Nigerians three years ago but got it squandered with its 'nepotic' and insensitive administration"

“No amount of cheap blackmail and treachery will return the APC from the exit gate where Nigerians already pushed them to, awaiting 2019"
"The departure date for the APC has already been announced and the flight schedule would not be cancelled, because Nigerians cannot wait to see them off.

Finally, the media office of the National chairman said that they are not oblivious of the fact that this government does not believe in court because they see rule of law as antithetical to their own agenda and understanding of democracy but noted emphatically, that truth must prevail over lies and propaganda especially as the populace have cried out to God for a rescue.

at this point in this country, not every story is worth reading. stop giving us pressure on monies there are no evidences of stealing or looting, the more we hear of this looters, the more we are concerned. but really? should this be our priority when many are dying of hunger and many are dying daily due to bloodshedding by the herdsmen with no cattle. focus on the citizens like Bill Gates has advised this government. and incase you identify any looting story, kindly get to the root of the matter, persecute the person and get back what belongs to the citizen from him or her before coming to give Nigerians high blood pressure and fabricated stories to make matters suit you. say no to media parade in 2018. focus on your job as a president or get kicked out in peace.

......stifling opposition

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Prince Uche Secondus has alerted international community that the ruling APC government and the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, are working to truncate the hard earned democracy nurtured for 16 years by the PDP administration

Prince Secondus said that indicators on ground shows that the party is not preparing to conduct free and fair election in 2019.

The National Chairman told a visiting team of European Union EU led by Ketil Karlsen that the party is concerned at the emerging signs showing that 2019 election might be rigged.

According to a statement from the National Chairman's media office signed by his media adviser Ike Abonyi, Secondus told his visitors that the government and its agencies were not realistically preparing for free and fair election.

"What we see is marshal system of framing up opposition leaders and trying to intimidate them.

"They are not ready to observe the rule of law and there is no democracy without rule of law.

"We conducted election in 2015, the party and the Presidential candidate did not go to court, we had smooth transition because we believe in the rule of law

" Nigeria as the largest black nation in the globe cannot afford crisis because of the huge effect it would have in the continent and the entire global democratic community if democracy is truncated.

Prince Secondus then appealed to European Union and other international partners to keep a watch on Nigeria ahead 2019 and put pressure on the government and INEC for a free, fair and credible election.

He said that the European Union's visit is coming at the appropriate time given that President Muhammadu Buhari has just indicated interest to recontest for a second term in 2019.

Prince Secondus stated that the PDP is mobilizing its members and other Nigerians ahead of the election through its rebranding project that is targeted at youths and women.
