.....commends Obasanjo, IBB, Danjuma for standing for the truth. The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus has urged Nigerians to use the period of Easter to reflect on the situation in the country and pray specially for the survival of our democracy. Prince Secondus said in an Easter message to mark the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead that the nation's democracy more than ever before since 1999 is under heavy stress that need all hands to be on deck for its survival. The PDP boss said in a statement signed by his spokesperson Ike Abonyi, that the nation's democracy is under pressure and requires only truth and sincerity of purpose from critical stakeholders to survive. Prince Secondus charged the nation's leaders to stand up for the truth and save the country from deteriorating. The PDP boss specifically commended some nation's elder-statesmen like former President's Olusegun Obasanjo and Ibrahim Babangida and former Minister of Defence General Theophilus Danjuma for saying the truth about the state of the nation noting that truth and nothing else can set us free. " Indicators are apparent that the country is under siege and Nigerians should use this solemn period of Easter to pray for God to intervene and raise good leaders for the country. Prince Secondus advised the APC led federal government to imbibe the spirit of tolerance and shun all undemocratic tendencies that heighten tension in the land. Secondus then charged Christians to see the Easter festivity which also marks the end of the 40 days special fasting and prayers as an ample period for positive attitude to one another. He assured Nigerians that the new PDP that would emerge after reformation is going to take the country to the next level having been equipped with the requisite experience. The PDP boss admonished Nigerian leaders to absorb the lessons of Easter and allow it influence their conduct, especially as it concerns the less privileged in our society. Finally, Prince Secondus wishes all Nigerians a very happy Easter celebration as he urges them to live in peace with one another. https://www.facebook.com/princeuchesecondus/posts/227278037822143

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says it lacks confidence in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Uche Secondus, national chairman of the party, made this known while receiving a delegation of the United Nations, led by Mohamed Ibn Chambas, in Abuja. He called on the UN to intervene in a bid to prevent rigging during the 2019 general election. “The new leadership of INEC, after the 2015 elections, has conducted series of elections; they have done their best but much is left to be desired,” he said. “INEC must come out clean and clear for all parties to have confidence in its ability to conduct a free and fair elections. “For us in the PDP, INEC has not given us the required confidence; we do not have confidence in INEC and that is one area we want the UN to intervene. “We know no election is perfect but where malpractice is clear, INEC has to step up to its bidding.” The chairman urged the UN to look into the issue of alleged underage voting in Kano and other parts of the country. Secondus said the party was ready to work step by step with all stakeholders to address all possible challenges before the 2019 elections. The UN official said due to the success of the 2015 elections, the world body had continued to use Nigeria as a yardstick for other African countries. Chambas said the UN was willing to partner with all stakeholders in Nigeria for successful polls in 2019. https://www.thecable.ng/no-confidence-inec-says-pdp

The Peoples Democratic Party has asked the Federal Government to explain to Nigerians the “real” circumstances that surrounded both the abduction and the alleged release of the Dapchi school girls. The party alleged that both the abduction and the release were done in a suspicious manner. It also took a swipe at the All Progressives Congress and the Presidency for allegedly stage-managing the abduction for political purposes. It, therefore, called on the United Nations and the International Criminal Court to “declare this evil by the APC Federal Government a war crime against humanity and immediately commence an investigation into the matter.” National Chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus, spoke at a media briefing in his office shortly after the news of the release was made public. He also demanded the arrest and prosecution of all those involved in the saga. Shortly after Secondus spoke, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan, also addressed a press conference. Ologbondiyan said, “We consider as wicked, callous and tormenting to use innocent schoolgirls as pawns in an ignoble script that was designed to hoodwink Nigerians and orchestrate a great rescue and security prowess of a conquering general, all to push a 2019 reelection bid, is an unpardonable gamble with human lives." “While this failed Dapchi drama remains a poorly crafted tragi-comedy: a scam of no equal dimension, Nigerians are not ready to forgive the APC and the Presidency for the torments inflicted on the girls, their parents and the human community worldwide just to score a cheap political point.” In his reaction, Secondus said, “The main issue is, how were they kidnaped? the government had set up an investigative committee, we challenged them to release the report on how they were kidnapped." http://saharareporters.com/2018/03/21/dapchi-girls-abduction-and-release-was-staged-pdp-alleges

Meeting of PDP National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, members of National Working Committee and Youth Leaders of Peoples Democratic Party at the National Secretariat in Abuja. Any nation in the world where the youths doesn't participate in the political development of the country is doomed Gen Yakubu Gowon was a youth that successfully presided over the affairs of Nigeria until the end of the war Unless youths come out and volunteer themselves to make sacrifice they will not be noticed... May God forbid The country needs the youths and PDP is prepared to allow the youths to take their place in leadership We have a program called GENERATION NEXT to prepare the youths for future leadership of our party. All party youths must be mentored and groomed Nigeria is in crises and this is the time we need the youths. APC is a threat to Nigeria's unity At 32 Yakubu Gowon fought hard for the unity of the country. Nigeria youths irrespective of party affiliation must join hands to rescue the country from APC doom Dietie Spiff became military governor of Old Rivers state at 27. Nigeria has never been divided the way we are under APC. APC government has failed woefully. APC wants to rig election but PDP will not allow APC to rig 2019 election. Nigerians will must prevail Our reward system is one that encourages hardwork. PDP government will reward those that work hard for the party https://www.facebook.com/princeuchesecondus/posts/222577494958864

PDP National Chairman and Members of NWC live at the PDP mega rally in Duitse Jigawa State

NATIONAL chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, weekend, said only PDP has what it takes to rescue Nigeria from total collapse in 2019, adding that All Progressives Congress, APC, can no longer rely on propaganda to win elections. Speaking at Ovwor, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State during an interdenominational thanksgiving service/grand reception organised by J. U. Oguma Foundation in honour of former governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori, Secondus challenged the APC to tell Nigerians what it had achieved since it took over governance. He said APC had borrowed N11 trillion in three years as against the N6 trillion borrowed by the PDP in 16 years. Also speaking at the event, Anglican Bishop of Ughelli Diocese, Rt. Rev. Cyril Odutemu, raised the alarm that “Nigeria is sick and in need of a true leader. The current government is not a solution to our problem. The solution to the problem of Nigeria is with God. In his address, chairman of the foundation, Olorogun John Oguma said: “When Ibori was around, Urhobo had three representatives in the Federal Executive Council and he was away for eight years after which Urhobo never had a voice in the council.” Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, while speaking as special guest at the occasion, described Ibori as a good leader who built a solid foundation for the development of the state. I was on sabbatical —Ibori In his remarks, Ibori described his jail term as a sabbatical leave saying: “It has been a year since I returned from my sabbatical leave. I thank God and the entire Urhobo class for their support. In the days ahead, my actions will express my gratitude to you all.” Former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, while advising Nigerians to be wary of rumour-mongering, said: “Ibori has a very forgiving heart. I’m here as a blood brother and I want to thank everyone that has come here today and those that went to see him in London.” Speaking further, Secondus said: “Ibori is a factor in Nigeria who has great following in Delta and across the country. Ibori believes in the welfare of the people and believes that the young shall grow and that the women must take their rightful place. “APC has plunged Nigeria into insecurity, hunger and crisis. In PDP controlled states, all our governors have fulfilled their promises to the people.” Read more at: https://www.vanguardngr.com/2018/03/pdp-can-rescue-nigeria-total-collapse-secondus/

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Prince Uche Secondus, says Nigeria will sink deeper into further crises if President Muhammadu Buhari is given another four-year term in 2019. He said that all the promises made by Buhari that made Nigerians to vote him in 2015 had remained unfulfilled till today. Apart from this, he said the President had divided the country along ethnic and religious lines with his alleged divisive style of governance since he assumed power in 205. Secondus, who spoke in an interview with our correspondent on Sunday, said majority of those who toiled day and night to get the President elected three years ago were regretting their action. He said Buhari could have noticed the disaffection of Nigerians to the way he had been administering the country and that, this could be the reason he asked the governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress not to rush him into taking decision on whether he would run in 2019 or not. He said, “The President may have noticed that Nigerians are eager to end his misrule and that’s why he told the governors of the APC to give him some time before he would make up his mind on 2019. “The fact, however, is that, allowing President Muhammadu Buhari to rule for another four years as from 2019 will be disastrous for the country and its citizens. “Buhari promised to fight corruption, he promised to fight insurgency and also revive the economy. That’s good. “But is the fight against corruption working? Is he not shielding alleged corrupt people in his kitchen cabinet? Are we making progress in the fight against insurgency? Nobody is even talking about the economy because if we have remained where we were in 2015 when he assumed office, it would have been better. “But now, we are miles in retrogression. Pray, should we continue like this for another four years? Those wishing to campaign for him or asking him to run are doing so not in the interest of the country, but for self-preservation.” http://punchng.com/buharis-re-election-will-spell-doom-for-nigeria-secondus/

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) holds firmly that Nigerians should hold President Muhammadu Buhari-led Presidency directly responsible for the abduction of schoolgirls in Dapchi, Yobe state and several other atrocities committed by insurgents against citizens, particularly in the northern part of the country. The Buhari Presidency has put Nigerians at risk by deceiving the people and issuing false performance indices suggesting that insurgents have been completely routed out, a situation which made our unsuspecting citizens trust a lie and dropped their guards in the face of real threats and danger. Without doubt, if the incompetent All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government had not dished out lies to the people in a bid to score cheap political points for its ill-lucked 2019 re-election bid, more precautionary measures would have been adopted by the affected communities to ensure adequate protection. While Nigerians are appalled by APC’s recourse to false indices in critical sectors, it is however, to say the least, an inexcusable height of wickedness to give a vulnerable people a false assurance of security when they are actually in danger. Furthermore, the PDP decries as iniquitous, the efforts by APC-controlled federal authorities to suppress information on the abduction, leading to conflicting reports and frustrating of rescue mission, just because they seek to hide the failures of the presidency in ensuring the safety of Nigerians, particularly in the north. We were shocked that in their proclivity to deceive, the authorities earlier informed Nigerians that some of the girls have been recovered only for the news to turn out to be false. While President Buhari has not uttered any word of assurance, Government’s visiting team headed by the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed only had a whistle stop at the Dapchi school and made no effort to interface or even commiserate with community leaders and parents of the abducted girls, while completely shutting out the media. This only further confirms APC’s insensitivity to the plight of Nigerians. It is more irking that the President and Commander-in-Chief will publicly provide a day an asymmetry war will come to an end as if acts of insurgency are fought like a conventional warfare. It is painful that Nigerians are faced today with a government that has been heavy on propaganda and issuing of false statistics, while playing down on several atrocities committed against defenseless citizens. Under the PDP, Nigerians were never told lies on the true situation of the state of affairs in all sectors, particularly security. The PDP-led government constantly briefed Nigerians and carried all stakeholders along in our concerted effort in securing lives and property in our nation. Nigerians and indeed the world must hold the Buhari Presidency and the APC-led Federal Government directly responsible for the abduction of these defenseless schoolgirls as well as the killings in our country today. While the PDP stands with the parents of the abducted girls at this moment of their harrowing pains and prays for their speedy return, we implore our security forces to insulate themselves from APC propaganda, take very decisive professional steps to recover our girls and end the killings in our country. https://www.facebook.com/princeuchesecondus/posts/216619195554694

National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, yesterday, reiterated their stand that the INEC is doing everything possible to rig the 2019 general elections in favour of the ruling APC. Secondus also said the PDP was in full support of the National Assembly’s position on elections sequence, saying there was nothing wrong in the new order where presidential election would come last. Speaking at a meeting of the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) yesterday in Abuja, Secondus said the opposition party would use its strength to resist any form of rigging in 2019. “We want Nigeria to know that INEC is doing everything to rig elections in 2019.ý It happened in 2015 and we will not allow it to happen in 2019. Why are they registering underage Nigerians? “We are determined and have resolved to resist all the illegalities in this country. This is the right time for those who left our party to come back. The APC is not a party; they have failed in virtually all sectors. “Today, Nigerians are not safe; there are killings here and there. This government is misleading Nigerians that some of the 94 kidnapped girls in Yobe are rescued; but we got reliable information that they have not been rescued. We ask Buhari to ensure that our girls are rescued,” Secondus said. cc;Lalasticlala https://www.facebook.com/princeuchesecondus/posts/216508545565759 http://saharareporters.com/2018/02/22/inec-working-hard-rig-2019-polls-secondus

Address by Prince Uche Secondus National Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party on the occasion of the 78th National Executive Committee (NEC) Meeting of the Party at PDP National Headquarters, Wadata Plaza, Abuja, 22nd February, 2018. Protocol With great sense of responsibility, I welcome you all to this 78th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, the first since our election at the December 9, 2017, National Convention of our great Party. Let me use this opportunity to thank all stakeholders and our teeming Party members for the confidence reposed in us at the Convention. I commend our governors for their giant strides in their various states. PDP States have become trail blazers and poster states in Nigeria. It has also become evident that PDP members at the National Assembly stand out through their contributions. They have ensured that democracy thrives in the country. I thank the Deputy Senate President and other members for standing on the side of the people always and for stabilizing democracy in the country. Since we came on board, the National Working Committee (NWC) has hit the ground running. We have embarked on series of consultations with critical stakeholders including former presidents, National Assembly Caucus, Governors and Elder Statesmen to build consensus on the direction of the Party. We held a retreat for NWC members and State Chairman to develop a blue print and fine tune the agenda for the Party. Our Publicity Directorate has been strengthened to cope with the challenges of an opposition party. We are happy that the impact is already being felt. Similarly, the NWC has been interfacing with stakeholders in states with outstanding congresses with a view to concluding all outstanding congresses. The Governor Seriake Dickson led Reconciliation Committee has recorded tremendous progress in ensuring that estranged members are assuaged. Also, all the Zonal Reconciliation Committees are enjoined to intensify their efforts to ensure that all grievances are addressed. I beckon on all our members to put aside all bickering and join forces to rebuild the Party. We look forward to the return of all our members. We are embarking on massive membership registration to open up the Party to all who desire to join. Soon the electronic/on-line membership registration will be launched. This NWC is devolving powers to the zones and state chapters as part of efforts to return the Party to the people. We are also taking steps to conclude all outstanding congresses. Dear Party Leaders, we must mobilize, mobilize and mobilize. The Youth and Women Directorate is taking the lead. We must relocate to our wards and let the people know that the PDP is repositioned and has all it takes to deliver good governance to the people. This is not the time to be Abuja politician. This is the time to work. We must rein in our individual ambitions and work for the success of the Party. PDP is the best platform to salvage the country. We have the experience and have learnt from our mistakes. You are aware that the last convention amended sections of the PDP constitution. The NWC has printed the amended constitution and will drive the business of the Party in line with the provisions. Ours will be a rule driven Party. One of the aims of the amendments is to broaden the base of decision making and ensure the positions of the majority of members prevail. In this connection, the National Caucus, NEC and Board of Trustees are being reconstituted in accordance with the provisions of the amended constitution. I urge the zonal leaders and state chapters to re-submit names for the BoT as appropriate. The next BoT meeting will be conducted based on the provisions of the constitution on membership. Your Excellencies, Distinguished Party leaders, Nigeria today is at the crossroads. The economy is in tatters, the security situation has become a nightmare. Killer herdsmen are competing with Boko Haram and kidnappers on who would inflict most pain on hapless Nigerians. On Monday night Boko Haram terrorists attacked Government Girls Secondary School Dapchi, Yobe State and as we speak reports say about ninety-four (94) students were still missing. Our teeming youth are hopeless with no jobs. Their parents and guardians keep losing their jobs by the minute. Since 2015, more than sixteen (16) million Nigerians have lost their jobs. According to the World Poverty Clock, an organization that assesses poverty across the globe using credible data obtained from the United Nations (UN), International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank, Nigeria would become the extreme poverty capital of the world by the end of this month. It will overtake India as the country with the most people in extreme poverty. This demonstrates how badly the APC Federal Government has mishandled Nigeria, an economy they took over from the PDP in 2015, as the largest (economy) in Africa. The so-called War Against Corruption has bred more corruption. Even reptiles and monkeys have joined! Discerning Nigerians had made it clear that what has been going on is the persecution of members of the opposition under the guise of anti-corruption war while monumental corruption is being perpetrated by officials of the government. Just yesterday, Transparency International again vindicated our position that corruption was getting worse under this government. In its 2017 index, TI said while Nigeria was ranked one hundred and thirty-six (136) in 2015, the country ranked one hundred and forty-eight (148) out of one hundred and eighty (180) countries surveyed in 2017. And, the situation is getting worse. Fuel is sold at 145 Naira a litre only in Abuja. In most parts of the country, it goes for as high as 250 Naira per litre and there are still queues. Just as in the late nineties (90’s) when our founding fathers under the aegis of G34 rescued Nigeria from the clutches of the military, Nigerians are looking up to PDP to deliver them from the APC misrule, and hopelessness. PDP will not only rescue Nigeria in 2019, we will launch the country back on the path of quality growth and development. We are all witnesses to what is going on in INEC. I call on all well meaning Nigerians and the international community to prevail on INEC to deliver free and fair elections. Any attempt to manipulate the elections must be resisted. The APC government must allow the will of the people to prevail when it loses in 2019. Once more I welcome you all to this NEC meeting. https://www.facebook.com/princeuchesecondus/posts/216357268914220
