The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus has declared that a vote for the All Progressives Congress, APC is a vote for the continuation of the killing of citizens across the country.

Prince Secondus said this on Thursday in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti state while presenting flag to the PDP gubernatorial candidate Prof Olusola Eleka for the July 14 2018 governorship election.

The National Chairman told the people of Ekiti that a vote for APC would mean a vote for continuous killings and appropriation of their land to the herdsmen.

In a statement from the National Chairman's media office signed by the media Adviser Ike Abonyi, Prince Secondus warned the people of Ekiti state against voting for the APC candidate Dr Kayode Fayemi who would take their land and give to the herdsmen.

He said that Feyemi and APC have nothing good to offer Ekiti people because when he was here in the past he did nothing and was rejected.

"You know those behind the killings in the country, if you vote for APC you are voting for killers and herdsmen to take your lands"

"They are killing and arresting our leaders, they can never arrest everybody, you must not be afraid of their intimidation, cast and protect your votes until it's counted and result declared.

Prince Secondus said that the victory in Ekiti come July 14 would be the beginning of a rescue mission by a rebranded, repositioned PDP that is ready to take back power from the APC in 2019.

"From Ekiti our victory dance will go to Osun in September in an onwards journey to Abuja in February next year to complete the rescue mission for the country.

Five Presidential aspirants of the party, former Vice Atiku Abubakar' former Jigawa state governor, Sule Lamido, former Sokoto state governor Attahiru Bafarawa, former Kaduna state governor Ahmad Makarfi and Gombe state governor Ibrahim Dankwambo spoke to the unprecedented lively crowd.

Ten of the 11 PDP state governors all graced the occasion and poured the solidarity of their people to the people of Ekiti state ahead of July 14.

Members of the revered Board of Trustees of the party led by its Chairman Senator Waldin Jubrin were also present in large numbers.

Earlier before the rally, the National Chairman led PDP leaders that included the Presidential aspirants and serving and former state governors to pay courtesy call on the traditional ruler of Ado Ekiti.

Prince Secondus said that the call has become necessary following the lackluster response of the government to the heinous crime and some attempts by agents of the government to divert attention of the public away from the issue.



Speaking while receiving one of the Presidential aspirants in the party, Alhaji Tanimu Turaki at the Wadata House National Secretariat of the party on Monday, Prince Secondus called on the international community to show interest and help halt the bloodletting in the country.



According to a statement from the National Chairman's media office signed by Ike Abonyi, Prince Secondus said that intelligence available to the party shows that the All Progressives Congress, APC is planning to rig the July 14 gubernatorial election in Ekiti state but warned that it would amount to putting fire in the land.



"Thwart the will of Ekiti people and put unquenchable fire in the country.



"Let me warn the INEC Chairman Prof Yakubu and Amina Zakari the National Commissioner in charge of operations in the electoral commission to be careful with any agenda they have that is against the will of the people of Ekiti.



He told the aspirant that the PDP as a platform is rebranded, repositioned and ready to regain power and rescue Nigeria from the terrible governance of the APC.



Prince Secondus noted that because the APC administration has nothing really to offer they have resorted to brute force, intimidation and harassment of opponents.



"They are harassing, arresting and framing up people but they cannot arrest and kill everybody. We are ready for them"

Earlier the Presidential aspirant Turaki a Senior Advocate of Nigeria SAN who was Minister of Special Duties in last PDP administration had commended Prince Secondus for fulfilling his campaign promises of leading the party transparently where there is inclusiveness, no impunity and imposition.

Turaki said that Secondus by the way he conducted Ekiti primaries has shown that he and his team are fantastic marketers for the party.

He also disclosed that he had visited all other Presidential aspirants in the race and promised to support whoever comesout victorious if not him.

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Prince Uche Secondus, has told President Muhammadu Buhari that since he is not god, he should stop intimidating Nigerians ahead of 2019 elections.

He said that the President was behaving like a coward and was afraid of the opposition.



Secondus spoke in Abuja on Friday when a presidential aspirant on the platform of the PDP, Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed, visited the national secretariat of the party to intimate members of its National Working Committee of his ambition.

The chairman of the main opposition party said that instead of facing governance, the President was busy harassing those considered to oppose his second term ambition.

He said, “The President is not god and he has no power to kill all Nigerians. He runs after everyone that criticises him and he picks them up day and night. Is he god? No, he is not.

“He is busy harassing Nigerians and wants to intimidate everybody. He has no time for governance. Instead, he is more interested in arresting and locking them up.

“He is fighting those who have sacrificed for the unity of the country. He wants to frame them – the likes of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and Theophilus Danjuma, who speak the truth.

“How many people can you arrest? You don’t allow the rule of law to exist. You do media trial before taking people to court. Buhari is very weak, and that’s why he’s looking for people to arrest. He is afraid of competition. He is afraid of being challenged.”

Secondus described the economic programme of the Federal Government as “voodoo”, saying that Nigerians were tired of it.

“He is not god. People should tell him. Nigerians are tired of voodoo economics which his government gives us. How can you be running the economy without data and statistics? No, we can’t continue like this,” he added.



Meanwhile, the PDP has alleged that President Buhari’s incompetence is directly responsible for the deadlock at the Federal Accounts and Allocation Committee meeting.

The party noted that the entire problem at FAAC stemmed from President Buhari’s alleged abdication of his duties, which it said opened the door for heavy sleazes and looting of funds in the oil and gas sector by his cronies and cabal in the Presidency.

National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan, who stated this in a statement in Abuja on Friday, said that it was incontrovertible that government’s major financial earning figures could not tally at the meeting because of the alleged sleazes in Buhari’s administration.

He said, “The Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, by asking the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation to account for the missing money, is merely looking for a scapegoat, as the buck stops at President Buhari’s table as the Minister of Petroleum Resources.

“Nigerians will recall that the PDP had forewarned of stealing, sharp practices and sleazy subsidy deals going on in the Buhari-led petroleum sector which the Presidency had always swept under the carpet. Today, the truth lies bare for all to see.”

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus has blasted the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, for trying to politicize the senseless and mindless rampant killings going on across the country under the watch of President Muhammadu Buhari and his administration.

Speaking on friday when he and members of the National Working Committee NWC of the party received one of the party's Presidential aspirants in the forthcoming general election Dr Datti Ahmed at the party National Headquarters, Prince Secondus lamented that rather than own up their obvious failings, the ruling APC has been trying to play politics with what is clear to all discerning minds that they have failed woefully.

In a statement issued by the National Chairman's media office and signed by Ike Abonyi, Prince Secondus asked APC leaders to stop denying their failure to arrest the ugly situation by using propaganda to try to deceive the public.

"Tinubu, Lai Mohammed, stop politicising death of Nigerians. Stop using propaganda to deceive people over the killings.

He told the Presidential aspirant that PDP is a good brand as it has been repositioned and ready to reclaim power in 2019.

"PDP has undergone its worst days and we are coming out the best," he said.

Secondus also accused the APC-led administration of bias in its anti corruption crusade by refusing to prosecute its members who are facing corruption allegation.

He said that at the appropriate time the PDP will come out with evidence of corruption against President Buhari and other members of the ruling party.

"Nigerians know the double standard in APC over corruption and we will expose them when the time comes.

"You can fool the people sometimes but you cannot full them all of the time.

Buhari, APC have nothing to offer, economy, insecurity and unemployment are worsening . APC administration is is arresting people out of fear and desperation," he said.

The statement said that the 48 year old Ahmed, founder of the Baze University is the third aspirants to have visited the party national headquarters to formally declared their intention to contest for the exalted position in the land on the party'splatform.

The other two are the former Vice President Atiku Abuabkar and former Governor of Jigawa state Alhaji Sule Lamido. The party has formally zoned the position to the ego political north.

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus has challenged President Muhammadu Buhari to face the reality that more Nigerians are dying and getting poorer under his watch



Reacting to the massacre of hundreds of innocent souls in Barki Ladi local Government Area of Plateau State at the weekend, and the Brookings Institutions' report on Nigeria's latest poverty level, Prince Secondus said that nothing can justify the continued blood flow in the country with the ruling APC who instead of nipping it on the bud has chosen to remain indifferent.



In a statement from his media office signed by Ike Abonyi, Prince Secondus said that the federal government and its security agencies appear to have switched off on the killings and now concentrating on how to intimidate people and win election at all course.



"Otherwise how do one explain the genocides in Plateau that was carried out for over five hours and there was no interruption from any security body in a distance less than 20 kilometers from Jos the state capital, headquarters of an Army and Airforce divisions with Police, Directorate of State Services DSS, Civil Defence and others."



"If we have government that cares, this horror should not happen to innocent citizens for whatever crime more so that the report showed that the victims were harmless worshippers and residence sleeping in their homes.



"Intelligence no longer works in this country that such massacre would be planned in Plateau that is prone to violence without any hint to avert it



According to the PDP boss, the truth is that APC led federal government is consumed in its nefarious plans to enforce themselves on Nigerians when it's obvious to all discerning minds that they have lost the goodwill lavishly poured on them by Nigerians in 2015.



Meanwhile, Prince Secondus said that while APC federal government is scheming to thwart the will of Nigerians in 2019, it's poor governance has brought Nigeria scandalously as the nation with the highest number of extremely poor people over taking India, a country with over 1.3billion people against Nigeria's estimated 200million.



According to the report from the authoritative Brookings Institutions, the number of Nigerians in extreme poverty put at about 87 million increases by six people every minute all a fallout of poor governance in the last three years of APC.



"The situation is under APC administration is seeming irredeemable from all indications yet they continue to shift the blame of their their ineptness to PDP

FOLLOWING what he perceived as a clampdown on opposition by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressive Congress (APC) federal government, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, has expressed the readiness of all the party leaders to go to jail and has therefore challenged the president to come for them.

His declaration came at the heels of the arrest and detention of former Benue State governor, Gabriel Suswam by the Department of State Security (DSS).

Secondus, who was speaking while leading the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) to play host to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja on Friday, revealed that the party has dispatched its governors to interface with the DSS over Suswam’s detention.

The party boss declared President Buhari a failure, saying that Nigerians were yearning for a return of the former ruling party.
He, therefore, said the only way to meet the expectations of the citizens was for the party to ensure free, fair and transparent primary elections at all levels to regain the confidence of the people.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is to hold an enlarged National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting over the intimidation and arrest of its members by the Federal Government.

It said the safety, personal freedom and well-being of Nigerians, particularly, opposition members, are no longer guaranteed. The party also advised the Federal Government to hold consultations with stakeholders over plan to establish cattle ranches in some parts of the country.

PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, at a press conference yesterday, alleged clampdown on opposition leaders and perceived opponents of the President Muhammadu Buhari by the Federal Government. According to him, the All Progressives Congress (APC) is now deploying every machination to cause confusion, heighten political tension by hounding and arresting of opposition leaders on spurious allegations.



“There are fears and trepidation everywhere. The safety, personal freedom and well-being of Nigerians, particularly, opposition members, are no longer guaranteed,” Ologbondiyan stated.

The PDP spokesperson noted that part of the plot is to link opposition leaders and dissenting voices with the widespread killings in various parts of the country, forgetting that President Buhari had earlier blamed the attacks on invaders from late Muammar Gaddafi’s Libya, while Director General of Department of State Services (DSS), Lawal Daura, blamed it on herdsmen from neighbouring countries.

“Having failed in their corruption smear campaign against the PDP and many notable Nigerians, the APC and the presidency cabal have now devised a devious machination to rope in, frame up, implicate and ultimately incarcerate marked opposition leaders and other dissenting voices over fabricated security charges.



“The wicked clampdown has started. Only on Wednesday, we were made aware of the arrest and detention of former Benue State governor, Hon. Gabriel Suswam, who has been kept incommunicado without access to his lawyers, while the Federal Government is not forthcoming with the details of the reasons behind the arrest and detention.

“However, we know that his arrest and detention is intended to put him out of circulation, so that he will not take part in the mega meetings of our party planned for the North Central states,” Ologbondiyan said.

He expressed the fears that other opposition leaders and dissenting voices have been placed under watch and would be dragged in and framed up on security charges, so as to keep them out of circulation ahead of the elections. Ologbondiyan recalled that former President Olusegun Obasanjo had earlier raised alarm of alleged plots by the Buhari administration to frame, arrest and detain him indefinitely on trumped up charges, attributing it to his criticisms and open rejection of the administration for its failures and manifest misrule.



“The world is also aware of the numerous alleged plots by the APC and its Federal Government to frame up and humiliate Senate President Bukola Saraki, Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremmadu, Senators Dino Melaye and Shehu Sani, as well as Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike and his Ekiti counterpart, Governor Ayodele Fayose. “Also, there are concerns about the safety of former Chief of Army Staff and former Defence Minister, Gen. Theophilus Y. Danjuma (rtd), following the fear expressed by Wike that Gen. Danjuma’s life might be in danger after his comments in March, this year, on possible complicity of the State in the killings in Taraba State. “Only on Wednesday, an explosive device was discovered at the Ebonyi State PDP secretariat, either planted to blow up our secretariat and kill our members or to set up our leaders.

“These attacks, threats and intimidation targeted at influential Nigerians, particularly, past leaders, show clearly that the APC and the Buhari presidency are very scared of their inevitable defeat in the 2019 general elections and now seek to apply all machinations to overheat the polity and ostensibly frustrate the process,” he added. He disclosed that the PDP NEC meeting would take “far-reaching decision on the next line of action, within the ambit and the provisions of the law, regarding the harassments and intimidations of citizens under the Buhari administration.”

On ranches, PDP noted that the situation has already generated discordant tunes and acrimony among major stakeholders, groups and states across the country, particularly relating to issues of funding and land ownership.

“The PDP is particularly worried by the lack of adequate consultations by the Federal Government resulting in the disagreements that have trailed the plan, especially along ethnic divides,” he said.



He called on the Federal Government to get its acts together and follow all due processes, as stipulated by the laws and 1999 Constitution (as amended) regarding this issue, in order to eliminate the current disagreements being generated, adding that the nation has witnessed enough disagreements, violence and bloodletting.

Secondus said in a Sallah message to mark the end of the 30-day Ramadan fasting period by the Muslim faithfuls, that the nation's democracy more than ever before since 1999 is under heavy stress that need all hands to be on deck for its survival

Prince Secondus said that the recent arrest and harassment of contractors handling projects in only PDP states has clearly exposed the anti graft agency as doing the bidding of the ruling party ahead of 2019.



The PDP leader said in a statement from his media office and signed by his media adviser Ike Abonyi that the EFCC has deployed its operatives to intimidate and harass contractors handling various projects in some PDP states with the motive of frustrating their project goals which have visibly placed them far ahead of the colleagues in APC states.



Prince Secondus expressed regrets that the Commission has remained beclouded in their bias and has refused to heed the advisories from well meaning Nigerians and international watchers including the recent one from the British High Commissioner to Nigeria Mr. Paul Arkwright for them not to take sides with any political party ahead of the 2019 general election.



According to the High Commissioner, "INEC and EFCC should be there to preserve the integrity of the political process, including taking investigations without prejudice on one side or the other"



PDP boss noted that the Commission rather than listen to such counsel, has instead made themselves a willing tool to assist the drowning APC ahead of 2019 general elections.



Rather than encourage states who are seriously involved in the delivery of democracy dividend to their people, the envious ruling APC has been conniving with the relevant agencies to be harassing contractors ostensibly to frustrate and slow them down in their development strides.



"Contractors in Taraba and Rivers states as well as other PDP states are being harassed by EFCC operatives and are being arm twisted to implicate PDp leaders"



" Intelligence is available to the party that the ruling party and the federal government have resolved to ensure that PDP states are permanently put on their toes so as not to get their bearing ahead of 2019.



It would be clear to the world and discerning minds that PDP governors are doing fantastic jobs executing projects that touch the lives of their people unlike their APC counterparts



In some states like Taraba where projects have been halted as a result of EFCC meddlesomeness, the unemployment situation has worsened.



Prince Secondus reiterated the position of the PDP that corruption should be confronted frontally in our system but warned that meaningful result would never be achieved in this regard in an atmosphere of bias and double standards from anti corruption agencies.



Secondus regretted that the anti graft agencies which was indeed set up by the PDP administration to tackle the corruption vice in our system independent of the ruling government has made themselves a willing tool in the hands of the APC"

He charged PDP state governors to remain undaunted and refuse to be intimidated in the service of their people.

Finally, Prince Secondus called on the international communities to note the growing impunity where anti graft agencies now usurp the over sight functions of the state Houses of Assembly.

The National Chairman of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to quit the stage now that it's evident that he cannot hold the government and the country together.

Reacting to the Tuesday's resolutions of the National Assembly threatening to invoke their constitutional powers on the President if a number of constitutional infringements are not quickly addressed and stemmed, Prince Secondus said that there is no further confirmation to the fact that the President is presiding over a collapsed administration.

In a statement from his media office signed by media Adviser Îke Abonyi, the PDP National leader said that the position of the parliament reflects clearly that of a cross section of Nigerians and should be respected.

Prince Secondus contended that even though the position of the legislators is delayed in coming given the damage already done to democracy and the country by the purposeless administration, the lawmakers still deserve some commendations for standing up for democracy and rule of law.

"Evidence are abound globally that by parliamentary powers the resolution of the National Assembly means that the people have lost confidence in the President and he should quit.

"We in the opposition have been saying it interminably that this government has no direction and does not mean well for the country.

According to Prince Secondus, all lovers of democracy should queue behind the National Assembly at this critical time in our political challenge and put pressure on the President to leave the stage now and save our democracy and the country.

He said that this government has exhibited all traits of a failed administration and did not need to wait for the parliament to give it a quit notice.

"History is a witness that when a government is bereft of ideas and still  wants to cling on to power, it resorts to use of brute force, intimidation and harassment of opponents, a quality we have seen very blatantly in this regime.

The PDP National Chairman asserted that a supposed civilian government that does not want institutions of democracy to strive should be called its exact name dictatorship.

He said that the PDP is privy to various clandestine moves including raising a special killer squad to further cow or even eliminate opposition leaders including the National Chairman to pave way for the APC agenda of hoisting a one party system on the country.

“The legislature and the Judiciary are the two main arms of any democratic government all over the World, but this administration has deliberately made the operations of the two very tasking in the last three years.

“How do you explain the assault on the nation's Senate by an ostensibly Executive backed hoodlums who not only disrupted proceedings but abducted the mace the symbol of parliamentary authority, the framing up of the Senate President and some of his vocal colleagues in an armed robbery and other related criminal cases or the forceful infiltration of homes of Justices and Judges at the wee hours of the night with arms by operatives of a supposedly democratic administration.

Finally, the PDP boss urged the National Assembly to quickly invoke their powers on the President and avert further bruises to the nation's democratic advancement.

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus has sent a strong statement to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, that there will be no general election in 2019 if July 14 gubernatorial election in Ekiti state is rigged.


Prince Secondus said while inaugurating  a high powered Ekiti state gubernatorial campaign council at the party National Headquarters in Abuja on Monday that the performance of PDP in Ekiti state makes the contest a smooth run.


He said that the party is aware that despite the negligible presence of APC in Ekiti, the party is determined to connive with the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC to manipulate and thwart the will of the people.


In the address titled "Nigeria democracy ambushed, dark days are here with us” Secondus said  "the caliber of names drawn up as members of this council shows in an unmistaken terms the importance the party attaches to this exercise"

May I in the name of God, the omnipotent welcome you all to this very important gathering marking the inauguration of our party's campaign council for the July, 14, 2018 gubernatorial election in Ekiti state.

The caliber of names drawn up as members of this council shows in an unmistaken terms the importance the party attaches to this exercise.

Ekiti state means so much to our party because of the strategic position it occupies in that geopolitical region and the fact that it's a test run election ahead of Osun state governorship election in September and the general elections in less than one year from now.

Ordinarily given the enviable achievements of our party in the state in the area of delivering democracy dividend to the people in the last three years under the leadership of our able irrepressible Chairman of PDP Governors Forum, Chief Peter Ayodele Fayose, Ekiti should be a smooth contest for us, but intelligence available to the party shows that the All Progressives Congress, APC is planning in their own words to "capture Ekiti at all cost"

Part of the costs has started manifesting with the shooting carried out at their own rally on Thursday last week which happened to be a continuation of the violence they launched on themselves and the state since their primaries last month.

Because of their desperation, a hitherto peaceful state of Ekiti has been turned into a war zone for a party whose electoral presence in the state is very negligible if any at all.
Your Excellences, this campaign council has a gigantic task of achieving one thing, to ensure that the electoral desires of Ekiti people are realized.

Your work basically is to harness the aspirations of Ekiti people and ensure that their will prevail.

Recently I have had to challenge President Muhammadu Buhari to be at the forefront for the campaign for one-man-one vote ahead of 2019 because the indicators out there are not palatable.

The signs are there for all to see that the attitude of the ruling party is that of a drowning man desperate to survive and whose posture is 'if I cannot make it let me go down with others'

The heightened heat in the polity right now in the country is unnecessary if the APC administration is willing and equipped to face the electorates, but where it's obvious that they have nothing to offer to get the votes of Nigerians, they are resorting to all devious means to undermine the democratic process.

Information available to us shows that in Ekiti, they are trying to use all skillful underhand means to achieve goals but the people are well charged to not only come out to cast their votes on July 14 but that they are ready to defend it.
At this juncture, let me warn that if there is any attempt to thwart the will of the people in Ekiti state, there may be no general election and the entire democratic process will be in endangered.

I recall drawing the attention of APC recently to the negative aspect of our history associated with trying to obstruct the will of the people as willingly expressed through the ballot box. I tried to let them know that Ekiti state shares in that history when the then second republic ruling National Party of Nigeria NPN attempted to use their federal controlled might to hijack power from the then Unity Party of Nigeria UPN that was on ground in the old Ondo state for which Ekiti was part.

Men of wisdom had long told us that the easy way to repeat history is to refuse to learn from it. I charge APC leadership to take time and read our political history and know that the route they are headed are akin to that of the NPN days if not worse.
APC has no positive record in Ekiti state to warrant their thinking that they could win election and they know this as a fact.

Prince Secondus said in a Democracy Day prayer wish to Nigerians that never gain would a non-democrat be given access to power like President Buhari to put the country in such jeopardy.

According to the PDP National Chairman through a statement from his media office signed by his media aide Ike Abonyi, Nigerians are anxiously looking forward to the opportunity to dispense with the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC and the President.

The PDP boss said he was sympathizing with Nigerians for finding themselves in such horrible situation where a day they should be celebrating freedom and good governance they are instead burying their innocent ones and groaning in the avoidable hardship.

He charged Nigerians to take their destiny and swear never to pass the APC root again by collecting and properly using their PVCs to save democracy and indeed save Nigeria.

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, pdp, Prince Uche Secondus has challenged President Muhammadu Buhari to put himself at the forefront of preaching one man one vote if he really desires to conduct a free and fair election in Ekiti, Osun states and in 2019.

Prince Secondus said that nothing on the ground so far is showing that the APC government is preparing to conduct a free and fair election in Ekiti state.

The National Chairman who spoke in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State capital on friday at the commissioning of various projects of Governor Ayodele Fayose, said that pdp performance in Ekiti state has closed the gate for any other party in the state to win.

According to a statement from the media office of the National Chairman signed by his media Adviser Ike Abonyi, Prince Secondus warned that any attempt to rig the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Ekiti state would be a recipe for crisis.

"Let me remind the APC government that the political problem in the country in the second republic started with the election manipulations of the then ruling National Party of Nigeria, NPN in the the old Ondo state comprising of Ekiti state, let us not witness a repeat.

He advised the APC government to take a queue from the gubernatorial primaries of pdp in the state and conduct the Ekiti election creditably.

"What the pdp did in the gubernatorial primaries in Ekiti is what is expected from a rebranded pdp where there would be no more impunity, no more imposition of candidates.

Our advice to the President and his party is to behave like pdp when it lost, accept defeat and go home.

The statement said that former President Goodluck Jonathan and four pdp governors of Abia, Akwa Ibom, Rivers and Gombe states, Okezie Ikpeazu, Emmanuel Udom, Neysom Wike and Ibrahim Dankwambo respectively graced the occasion.

All the state governors spoke and eulogized the host governor Fayose for doing much with meager resources.

Governor Fayose in his remarks assured the people of the state that the PDP candidate in the July 14 poll Prof Olusola Eleka would not only win but would go further to do well and even better than him.

The National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus commissioned the Creek Road ( now renamed Dame Madam Patience Jonathan Road) in port Harcourt today.

7The commissioning been part of the 3rd year Anniversary celebration of the Administration of his HE Gov Nyeson Wike.

The road which had been abandoned for the past couple of years was reconstructed by Julius Berger into a dual carriageway with full compliments of street lights.

Later on His Excellency, The Governor in company of the National Chairman walked the entire length of the new road acknowledging cheers, greetings and prayers from the residents and other cheering people. To God be the Glory

Uche Secondus, national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), says Nigeria might go into extinction if the July governorship election in Ekiti state is rigged.

Speaking at the flag-off of PDP’s local government election campaign in Rivers state, the opposition leader said his party would resist any attempt to thwart the will of the people.

He alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) rigged the Kaduna local government election, where his party won four LGAs, while APC swept 14.

“The forthcoming Ekiti state election is going to be a litmus test. We warn that if you attempt to rig Ekiti, it will be a recipe for crisis and we don’t know whether there will be Nigeria or not,” he said.

“We are bold to say it because you cannot take the peoples rights, you cannot deny them of their votes and we are saying and we want APC to say the same that it will be ‘one man, one vote’, ‘one woman, one vote’, ‘one youth, one vote’.

“We will never allow an evil individual to destroy this nation or to destroy our state. If you like wait for us, we refuse to be intimidated. We saw all that happened in Kaduna last Saturday. PDP won in all local government areas, but they over-turned the results.”

Secondus said that with the help of Nigerians, PDP is united to take over from the APC in 2019.

He said his party would provide the leadership that will create platforms of the unity for Nigerians.

During a dinner with the southwest caucus of APC at the presidential villa in Abuja earlier in the week, President Muhammadu Buhari urged the members of his party to take the mission to rescue Ekiti from PDP seriously.
